Reviews for Happy Village
Review 1:Having to wear a cap in the pool
Review 2:The restaurant food was excellent and the staff were friendly the showers were brilliant and powerful and the water temperature was constant. The other important thing is it was open in October when lots of others are shut we were grateful as we had traveled from England so a big thumbs up and fellow campers will appreciate it.
Review 3:The mobile home with shared bathroom doesn't come with ac, towels, linen, and the shared bathroom is an area with many bathroom stalls and showers. The Internet is expensive. It's 6 hours for 7 euro or depending on how long you need it. You can't get signal everywhere. I recommend you go on the free shuttle to the prima ports station, if you walk in the area you'll find a phone provider. You can get an Internet only sim for your device for 10 euro for 3gb. And you get signal pretty much everywhere with the vita 3 service. The little store they have on grounds isn't much of a store. It's a little room and doesn't have much to offer. It's prices are a little steep. But you can take the free shuttle to the prima ports station and in that area you will find a grocery store. Ask the driver and he may leave you there. It isn't crowded, so that is nice. It's nothing like the party villages you find in Venice. It's cheap to get to Rome. You can buy a 1.50 euro ticket from the prima ports station for one person and use it to get there. There are also other options. The restaurant has times it can serve meals. For breakfast expect a limited option. Options include: cappuccino with biscotti, cappuccino with bread and butter, or with both. Prices start at 2.00 to 4.00 euro or for just cappuccino 1.50. They do leave you blankets (no linen), but they are itchy! Also there are lots of mosquitoes. They come in through the screen, since they have some tears in them. Hope this helps! Hope your stay is great.
Review 4:The free shuttle They have a community grill and fridge. It's safe to leave food there, if you plan to use the grill bring pan or just use foil. the staff was nice enough. Though many just didn't seem to enjoy their job much. This is a great place to save on accommodations. I would do it again.
Review 5:I don't know what the site is trying to be. Family friendly camp site with a pool. Restaurant overpriced. 32 euros for two paninis an omelette and two pints. Can't go in the pool without a swimming cap! And the pool is overseen by a miserable man who ruined what should have been a relaxing family experience. Not allowed to drink/eat by the pool. Not allowed to eat food outside despite there being tables. Too many pointless rules and restrictions to be family friendly. All in all I enjoyed Rome but won't be going back to Happy camping.
Review 6:Set in a beautiful location. The free bus to prima porta station provided easy access to Rome. The bus driver was fantastic too.
Review 7:Peaceful, Resturant and pool area was just blissful - Staff were always friendly - Bus to Train station was always on time and driver always happy and friendly
Review 8:We hadn't selected accommodation with a kitchen. The booking wasn't very clear and we assumed all bungalows had a kitchen.
Review 9:Great accommodation for the price. Free shuttle service to the metro. Excellent value for money.
Review 10:It would be great if the bus to Prima Porta Station travelled more often, and the market had more goods to offer. It's an excellent place for couples. Quiet and cosy.
Review 11:I liked the air conditioned bungallow, the pool, the quiet atmosphere, the park around, quite good food in the restaurant.
Review 12:Wifi didn't work where we were in economy bungalow so had to keepgoing to reception to access it, we didn't realize we were evenfurther from Rome than thought, the bungalow was not what we thought, had no toilet roll, no towels and you had to pay for them, therestaurant had limited choice to eat when we went for dinner on thefirst night, there was one plug in the bungalow and that was in thebathroom! The shop on site was limited with choice too and prices onmajority of stock. We didn't have breakfast as we didn't likethe choice so got chocolate croissants from shop and checked out thenext morning and found a better hotel nearer to Rome. Be sure you arereally prepared to stay there as you need everything for camping herethan we thought and no shops nearby. You get what you pay for.
Review 13:The pool area was nice to sit down and relax and the staff werefriendly.
Review 14:Campgrounds are divided in two parts: one is very nice the other a little shabby...
Review 15:Nice staff, bar and swimming pool. Good showers. Beautiful location.
Review 16:We enjoyed our stay, so here are some tips to help you with your stay. Bing your own swim caps. Or purchase expensive ones there. Pool has very limited opening hours; closes about 7pm. Sad because a twilight swim would have been great after a hot day in Rome. It is a bit of a drive to the train station. The shuttle bus is free but can be limiting. We enjoyed the train commute to Rome with the locals. There is a brilliant breakfast/pizza shop and free spring water fountain to top your water bottles up at the near the station. Caravans don't have any cooking facilities. Restaurant/pool area at the top of the hill has ok meals. The little shop has minimal stuff. Wifi is extra, but not hugely expensive.
Review 17:We really liked our stay at happy village. Yes it was basic, and there are a lot of quirky rules, but value for money was great.
Review 18:No free wi-fi.
Review 19:Nice place, good location if you travell by car or motorcycle. Its a pleasure to take a rest and drink wine near your small home after a long day in Rome. Really relaxed atmosphere.
Review 20:Arrival in Rome was late and early flight from Rome. So we had to get a taxi. The cost of a taxi in both directions are the same as accommodation - 200 euro. I spend on the Internet 5 euros in 3 hours, 30 minutes and cut off the Internet because of the light and then are no longer working. The description of hotel services is not specified, it is necessary to pool swim cap. I had to buy 3 at 9 euros. Caps are necessary, but we must warn !!!
Review 21:Very pleasant chat with the night security guard and driver Vasily. Wonderful people.
Review 22:the hotel is far from airport (fiumicino). wi-fi connection didn't work during all day. and wi-fi connection is not free (1hour=2euro). There was not mobile signal somewhere. you have to pay extra tax for each night. the pool is unavailable some hours after noon. if you want to use pool you should bring (swimming) bonnet. breakfast options are weak and expensive in restaurant.
Review 23:the room was clean. aircondition is working good. quiet place. shuttle service is a good facility
Review 24:the only negative is that the bus was more like evey two hours insted of every hour
Review 25:The staff were awesome especially the driver air con was a life saver if you are going in summer it is a must
Review 26:No wifi ,3 euro per hour, the swiming pool attender was very rude, making a differnt laws for everyone, he was letting his friends swiming without a cap & when my kids just arrived after a very hot day he wont let them swim , trying to sell the caps ,i felt like a milking machine, prices on the cafe on the menu its not what u pay, so pay more intention to what u pay, the night porter was very rude nothing to do with customer service, it felt like most of the staff are working there & not enjoying thier jobs & making our stay not pleasant apart from the day reception & the shutell driver they were very nice, seats on swiming pool were very old & dirty , no toilet paper , they trying to save money, very bad beds
Review 27:The location was great , very relaxing around the nature green ,the guy in the reception was great very friendly & helpfull, also the driver was very nice man & easy going.
Review 28:Where to begin. The reception staff was extremely unfriendly. I don't blame her entirely, she had to deal with very difficult people (I saw brutal exchanges with customers yelling at her for charges or whatever they didn't believe they had to pay.) However that didn't stop her from then treating me the same as the man who was yelling at her. Oh well. Wifi was only exactly around the checkin. Nothing near where you stay - it's not free either. The small trailer I stayed in smelled of cat pee and mold. Only one light and one outlet worked. The bad smell was soo strong I nearly scrapped it at night, and just slept on the ground outside. Had a school group staying next to me, they laughed and listened to music till the wee hours. Overall, I will not be back anytime soon.
Review 29:My dinner at the restaurant was actually pretty good. Location to Rome is nice. The bathrooms and showers were pretty clean, which was nice for such a big and busy place.
Review 30:I saw there the biggest frog in whole my life :) Happily outside of bungalow :)
Review 31:* swimming pool - clean, big, just great :) * air-conditioning in bungalow * free bus to train station * good food in restaurant * camping is very quiet, there is a lot of green
Review 32:Under stocked market, on site restaurant didn't honour an offer the campsite gave us, although the food was good, the last shuttle bus was at 9.30pm so not great if you want a night out in Rome
Review 33:Comfortable warm cabins with nice outside space to sit in. great bus shuttle to local metro station, excellent cafe near the metro station - cheap, friendly staff nice food
Review 34:Wifi doesn't work. Shuttle times are not always inconvinient.
Review 35:Bed was comfy, there is shuttle sometimes, overall pretty clean. Heater worked great.
Review 36:the shop offers just few things and little bit expensive, music at swimingpool was old and boring a loop of old songs..
Review 37:Me and my boyfriend spent 3 nights at Happy Village..with the porpuse to relax away from the city. good location and peacefull, nice swimingpool and good restaurant.:)
Review 38:Beds need replacing , lots of ants in caravan didn't realise there was no kitchen in caravan otherwise great location to relax or go into Rome
Review 39:Pool , food, bar prices good staff spoke English and we're friendly shuttle service to prima porta station were good nice and clean
Review 40:Only the climb to the pool up the hill, kids with little legs will be moaning!
Review 41:Location outside Roma with free bus travel in and out of the city, great pool areas, restaurants were fine. Happy Village was easy to find and well signposted, we found it in the dark! Great for a stopover or short break. Excellent value.
Review 42:The train station(s) aren't very safe. There were 2 times, when pickpockets tried to steal from us. There are no shops near, even with car.
Review 43:The staff was simply great. There are free minibuses to the train station, wich brings you into the city center.
Review 44:I was surprise to see something different from what I saw on the website!!!
Review 45:Nothing!!!
Review 46:Everything was fine and nice.
Review 47:A lot of hungry mosquitoes... :))
Review 48:A pleasant location, good atmosphere, nice condition, good environment.
Review 49:Bad bed
Review 50:Good personal
Review 51:limited restaurant hours. area is a bit secluded. very basic. wi-fi expensive and spotty.
Review 52:nice pool area
Review 53:Distance, ants in room, poor wifi
Review 54:Staff, price
Review 55:A fűtés gyenge.
Review 56:Jól felszerelt konyha.
Review 57:Shop was poorly stocked.
Review 58:Free shuttle to Prima Porta station. Plenty of hot water
Review 59:everything
Review 60:nothing
Review 61:The staff was great, especially Mr Vasile, he is the soul of the place.
Review 62:very hot in the hut and no fans to hire.
Review 63:very friendly staff. Good pool. Free shuttle to train station
Review 64:if it wasn't the bed springs you were feeling it would be the crater you would be in when going to bed. A serious need of bed replacement is to be considered. Other than that, few minor things maybe not worth mentioning: 1. Paid towels, 2. No internet in rooms, 3. Paid WiFi, and working only in restaurant area, 4. No A/C (we did not need it but surely for people traveling in July/August) 5. Food mainly East-Indian style (curry... nothing bad but if you are looking for italian food look elsewhere, however the pizza is worth the try) 6. You need to have a bathing cap to use the pool they sell them at 3euro a pop
Review 65:The staff was helpful and friendly. The restaurant was new. The price was amazing.
Review 66:I booked the bungalow with a kitchen. Unfortunately the fecilities were very poor. No kettle ! I also didn't feel very comfortable about no curtains in the bathroom. Bangalore itself was very small, it was 4 of us and felt crowded. Little brush would be useful to clean the floor. It also was quite cold in the evening and at night. There was fun inside but was not working properly.
Review 67:Comfortable beds, helpful staff. I like the fact that the village really is outside of Rome. After all day in very busy and crowdy city a bit of peacefulness was needed. No problem with hot water :)
Review 68:Poor playground, pool closed, no breakfast, minimarket mostly closed and no fresh groceries. Transfer bus only leaves morning and evening so no possibility of going to Prima Porta to buy food. Cold and small bungalow, bad beds.....etc.....
Review 69:Cheaper than most Rome accomodations, some of the staff was friendly
Review 70:Reception was very bad,we left one small empty carton in the floor.then during check out reception told us there is a problem in the room i went with him then he told me that we left a lot of garbage on the floor & my we have to clean it before leave. i told him that it is a small carton & we will not clean it as it is your work to clean room after we leave. then he told me to go out but i insisted on never to go out before the time of check out & told him to call police then he called police & i waited but no one came then i left the hotel actually it was a bad experience for us to be treated by such an un respected way.also rooms were very small . Windows were transpart & unsafe
Review 71:No thing is good
Review 72:Happy Vilage charges 20 Euro for cleaning you room and you have to payfor new towels. The place is in the middle of nowhere and if you missthe shuttle in the morning you are stuck at the campsite until 5 pm whenthe shuttle resumes.
Review 73:Not much room for parking.
Review 74:The friendly staff. They were very helpful. We hope to go back and stay for longer.
Review 75:no towels in the room. we had to pay for them!
Review 76:It the best camp in Italy I stayed. Excellent quality and price!
Review 77:Everything
