Reviews for Agriturismo San Cataldo

Review 1:Not a big issue, but our room could use an update.

Review 2:During the week a very quit ( for three days we were the only guests) and beautiful enviremont. In the weekend the restaurant was full of locals and during our stay Rita made the finest lunches and dinners for us. Really Italian home made food and every day they asked us what and how much we wanted to eat. Her husband Filippo luckely had a translater because they don't speak another language. Very very nice people and a lot of animals on the mountain, goats, cows, horses, a peacock, cats and a very lovely dog. They also make their own cheeses. A very good place to relax with a view on the Etna.

Review 3:Nothing to actually dislike. Breakfast could be varied, however, we stayed out of season so this probably would be if there were more guests.

Review 4:Staff are superb and incredibly friendly and passionate about what they do. The views are amazing. We liked being tucked away from everything but also close to the town if you have a car. The food is from the land which is fantastic and very tasty.

Review 5:The last road (5km) was a bit bumpy and windy and lack of tarmac makes it a bit of a struggle to get there. We have been told that they will resurface it end September.

Review 6:Very welcoming and great for kids and grown ups alike. Filippo was a great host!

Review 7:Time limit on internet connection.

Review 8:Friendly hosts Excellent cook in restaurant. Quiet location in hills with view of Etna from both outdoor restaurant and bedroom. Air conditioning in bedroom was very efficient.

Review 9:A wonderful place to get away from everything and enjoy nature at its best. Comfortable accommodation, lovely food, friendly staff, fun activities. Highly recommended, looking forward to our next stay!!

Review 10:Breakfast was nothing special, was ready to pay more to have a more agriturismo quality breakfast.

Review 11:I liked the ambience, surrounded by trees and wilderness. The staff are very friendly especially Nicholas. Wilson the dog was the cherry on the cake, our son loved him. The pool is very nice too. I also liked that Internet connection and phone connection wasn't always the best which means I could really have a decent holiday away from everything!

Review 12:We had such a wonderful week here that it's hard to start picking individual things: our daughter enjoyed seeing the goats, horses, pigs, chickens, ducks, rabbits, Wilson the Dog and the farm life, like the goats being milked. Pony Day was a definite hit, as was the trampoline and swings. The agriturismo is in such a gorgeous location with super views that alone warrant the trip, but add to that the superb hosting (we had breakfast and dinner every day, and lunch on days we were not doing day trips) and amazing food (great ingredients but also inventive takes on local dishes), and it's a definitive 10/10.

Review 13:The road leading to the agriturismo is rather winding and narrow. There is a 15 minute drive up to the agri and therefore try not to have a big vehicle.

Review 14:Children were entertained at all times and the place, food and hospitality were superb. I will certainly be back soon.

Review 15:Very little to report - perhaps not having WIFI in the room was a possible negative but this sort of added to that 'get-away feel' Having a car is a must especially if you intend to visit attractions in the vicinity but there are also many activities on site. I suggest that you plan your drive to The Agriturismo beforehand as it might be a bit difficult to locate first time round. However, the trip would prove worthwhile. Also, our host did inform us of plans to improve access to the Agriturismo through the narrow winding country roads. Pointing out any negatives would be nit-picking really as i would recommend this place to foreign travelers or locals looking for that weekend break.

Review 16:Picturesque mountainous location close to Mount Etna yet 40 minutes away from Taormina. Filippo and Rita, our hosts were very friendly, welcoming and hospitable. Rita in the kitchen cooked delicious home made Sicilian dishes using the farm's own fresh produce. A generous breakfast in typical sweet Sicilian fashion was free of charge. And of course Wilson the beautiful mountain dog greeted us every time we returned to the Agriturismo. . Nice to see peacocks, chickens, mountain goats, geese, pigs roaming around. A great break from the hustle and bustle of the city life. We had our own cosy and spacious wooden cabin, This place is suitable for all kinds of visitors - families and couple of all ages - would definitely recommend!

Review 17:The place is very quiet, in the middle of the woods, and with a great view on the Etna. The home-made cuisine is fantastic!! From the breakfast to the dinner we had great, fresh, tasty and abundant food! The staff is very nice and very helpful.

Review 18:Location, location, location. The place looks and feels like somewhere in South America, specifically Colombia or Ecuador. The views and ambiance are simply astounding. Very well equipped for keeping both adults and children well entertained. Food was also great, as was the hospitality of the owners. Quite a long rough road to get there, but that is what makes the place so special.

Review 19:NOTHING!

Review 20:Facilities, friendliness of staff, great food, fantastic location with views of Mt Etna from terrace!

Review 21:Not really something negative, but people should be aware of the 10-15min drive through unpaved and very tight 'road' to reach the resort. Ideally one should have an SUV/4x4 vehicle to drive it comfortably. Other than that there is nothing which one shouldn't like!

Review 22:The location is amazing, just off Etna mountain with beautiful nature views surrounding the resort. Fillipo & his wife were super friendly, helpful and very welcoming. Also that there is a restaurant is a great amenity to the facility.
