Reviews for Hotel Oasi Dei Discepoli

Review 1:The wall insulation is pretty bad. You can hear all the conversations from next door.

Review 2:Friendly stuff, spacious room, free car parking & Nice breakfast

Review 3:Do not expect that you are in the city center of Orvieto. The hotel is a 5-10 min. car drive away from the city center, and there are hardly restaurants in the neighbourhood. You need a car.

Review 4:You get pretty much confort for that price. Nice rooms. Breakfast was OK. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Plenty of parking space, which is an advantage because in the Orvieto city center this can be a problem.

Review 5:Double bed was 2 twin mattresses pushed together. Shower was not clean. We couldn't control the thermostat, it didn't work. Location was not ideal. Not all outlets worked.

Review 6:Staff was kind. Nice balconies.

Review 7:It's easy to hear neighbour rooms, it looks like walls are a bit thin. The shower is supersmall, but hey... The bed it's a bit short: I'm 1.85m tall and I fit just right into it. If you sleep on your belly and you're as tall as me, your feet will hang out of the bed. Other than this minor things, a nice place for a night or two.

Review 8:The position is good for a visit to Orvieto. There seems to be not so many places to eat around the hotel but we didn't ask either. There's a Lidl a few hundred meters away if you need cheap stuff for a sandwich or snacks. The room was big and clean. Breakfast is pretty nice! Staff were friendly and professional

Review 9:Access road to hotel badly needs maintenance. Remote location but doesn't have a restaurant. The room has ants all over the floor and there are bugs.

Review 10:Ample carpark. Good breakfast.

Review 11:free wifi but slow

Review 12:you can see that this hotel was once "the" place to go, but now it still has its grandeur, but its price point makes it a must stay here hotel. It is just outside the old town, but has great access to all 3 types of access to the top of the city

Review 13:The guy at the front desk told us it was a 1km walk into the old town. Turned out to be 3-4km up an extremely steep hill! He didn't tell us about the bus or funicular that go up the hill. I was not impressed at all.

Review 14:Good location and good value for money. Nothing fancy but was clean & comfortable

Review 15:Our airconditioned room was on the shady side of the hotel which we were initially happy with as it was over 35 degrees the day we arrived. That happiness and the sleep we were trying to get, after a nice visit to Orvieto and in preparation of a long drive the next day, were sadly blasted away at 23.00 sharp by extremely loud music that shutters, windows and earplugs could not hold away. Turned out there was a 10-days outdoor rock festival around the corner of the hotel and this was day 9. Took us 45 minutes of debating at the reception to find out that the music would stop no earlier than 01.00. Around midnight we got a new room on the other side of the hotel in which the airco still had to be started so it was 30 degrees when we all moved over. Possibly an oasis in other times of the year but before booking this hotel and other hotels nearby, make very sure to check the 'Rock a Tutta Birra' festival calendar ...

Review 16:Nice enough quadruple rooms with a separate room for kids, airconditioned, private parking space in a normally quiet surroundings, at a 5 minutes drive to the nearest public parking (paid) from where escalators take you through the mountain to the Orvieto city centre. Good for stop-overs and short visits.

Review 17:Breakfast is average.

Review 18:Good location, convenient hotel. Nice view to the old town, nice surrounding. Orvieto a very charming city. Comfortable bed, well-functioning air condition.

Review 19:The airconditioning could not cope with the hot weather only getting down to 28 degrees overnight. The breakfast was poor with little variety and no yogurt on the second day of our stay.

Review 20:The staff at the front desk were most helpful. Good quiet location close to supermarket and old city. Good environment around hotel.

Review 21:Breakfast not good enough and insufficient quantity for the number of guests. No insect screens on the windows. We didn't discover how to set the airco to behave reasonably. Staff rude to some other guests.

Review 22:In a quiet location, good for visiting Orvieto by car.

Review 23:Room as hot as Russian sauna, aircon didn't work and most things were broken including WiFi. How did it ever get a good rating on booking.com?

Review 24:Nothing

Review 25:The overall standard is a little tired and perhaps in need of minor refurbishment - but this is only a small point in a place which was good value. The signs to the hotel could be a little clearer.

Review 26:The room was comfortable and the staff were very helpful. The location outside the city means that it is easy to park and it is just possible to walk into the centre (up an incredibly steep hill!). There is also a useful Lidl supermarket just across the road. It is good value for money if a conventional, reasonably modern hotel.

Review 27:Beautiful facility in the Tuscan landscape. Monica was extremely friendly and helpful. Swimming pool was a welcome site when we arrived on a hot day.

Review 28:It was a little difficult to find and it is an older building but that is reflected also on the price Which is a good value.

Review 29:Breakfast was nice by Italian standards. We needed to leave early and they Allowed us to have breakfast before open time. We had a very nice view of Orvieto from the window.

Review 30:location is convenient if you travel by car, big private parking in front of the hotel. rooms are convenient, offer free bottle of water when you arrive. you can easily drive to free parking in front of the train station (parking is really big and always have free slots) and take a lift to orvieto city center from there. several options of food for breakfast - not only sweets. excellent hotel! highly recommended!

Review 31:I had a injury whilst on holidays and was in a wheelchair and too my surprise our room and bathroom were very large in fact the whole place was very big

Review 32:broken electric and plumbing fixtures, unresponsive staff(took me 3 times and about an hour to have them turn A/C on, kept asking if I really need it)

Review 33:location is nice, everything else is overrated

Review 34:The mad architect would came up with the idea of constructing a brutalist hotel in Italy should have his/her licence revoked.

Review 35:Almost nobody in the whole hotel. We had the whole place for ourselves. Very quiet place, away from the street, which also means far from the city center.

Review 36:It is a good place to stop over travelling from Tuscany to Rome. The old town of Orvieto (The hotel is at Orvieto) is a must. The hotel itself has big grounds and parking is no problem. Breakfast is adequate.

Review 37:I stayed one night in this hotel which is horrible. In the room it was very cold, low wi-fi, poor breakfast and cold underground. During the night was also very cold, even we have asked to change the room, they didn't react to that. It looks more like an soviet hotel. I will strongly not recommend someone to stay in this hotel.

Review 38:Nothing at all .

Review 39:We were surprised at the quality/standard of this hotel as it was so reasonably priced ( ie 'cheap' ). The room , furnishings , bed and bathroom were all attractive and comfortable . The staff were helpful and friendly . Breakfast was excellent . Fairly close to the city of Orvieto where you can park and take the escalator , if it's working , or as we did , two lifts .

Review 40:Although the hotel is non-smoking now, the lobby area and corridors smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke, perhaps from a time when smoking was permitted inside.

Review 41:The room was spacious and comfortable and afforded glimpses of Orvieto in the distance. The was plenty of free parking on site. The breakfast was fresh and tasty.

Review 42:On the website and the hotel sign it says Restaurant. But it's only for groups, and was closed. There were no restaurants or pizzerias in the vicinity, we lost our way in the dark and were glad for the road signs to find the hotel. We found some ice cream bar for supper. We expected locals to have pizzerias, but apparently they eat at home.

Review 43:The hotel is off the road to Orvieto, there are many direction signs for this hotel and others. We had a room for three, plenty space. Always got directions with maps from the reception.

Review 44:The courtyard outside the breakfast area was dirty. It was in need of sweeping and cleaning.

Review 45:The bedroom was large. Bed was comfortable. The view of Oroveti was spectacular. The hotel was ten minutes from the fernicular. Free parking. The property was quiet in the evening.

Review 46:Nothing. Had a. 75 people party with music outside my room until midnight. No Comment at front desk. AC was a joke. Terrible and worst hotel in all my. 35 yrs of traveling.

Review 47:Bit hard to find at night. Even though it is 2km from old city it is not out in a remote area.

Review 48:Very nice large motel just out of the old city of Siena. Nice comfortable room and good breakfast either inside or out on the paved area. Great to have free car parking

Review 49:No dislikes

Review 50:1) Very good location - less than 10 min. from Centro Storico with huge free parking lot 2) Very good breakfast + excellent service 3) Low prices at a bar (2 euro for Tuborg lager 0.6 l) 4) Ample free parking lot 5) Peace and quiet - like in the countryside, still very close to Centro Storico 6) Good value for money

Review 51:Long way to the attractions in the old city, you have to use the car..I especially didn't like the fact that even though when I made the booking I particularly asked for two rooms which are close to each other they ignored my request

Review 52:A nice hotel in a cosy and quiet place, outside the old city, nice breakfast, although not very diversified ..good coffee

Review 53:The breakfast was poor with a very small range of offerings. The air conditioning was noisy and not cool enough.

Review 54:Great surroundings and modern hotel. Room was large and close to supermarkets and town facilities. Car parking was great to have. If driving to the old town there is free parking at the train station with lift to the old town.

Review 55:Could do with a better choice for breakfast.

Review 56:Very helpful and friendly staff.

Review 57:Noisy because of tiles on all the floors in rooms and corridors.

Review 58:Locatie close to town

Review 59:the locate was good for us and the hotel provided us with good hospitality. Good value for money.

Review 60:Nice and spacious room. Quiet location.

Review 61:price higher than it was promised

Review 62:Personal

Review 63:Location out of place.

Review 64:Friendly Staff. Good Value. Good Facilities.

Review 65:older hotel in need of renovation...musty smell

Review 66:WiFi kept dropping out

Review 67:Hotel provided value for money. Breakfast was good.

Review 75:Good location to travel arround, very friendly people.

Review 76:The breakfast is not good.

Review 77:Helpful staff!

Review 78:Small things in the room that not working, lamps, hoeks for towel and curtains. Place for soap in the shower.

Review 79:Locatie, friendly staff, ambiance.

Review 80:Thin walls between rooms. Old furniture in the room.

Review 81:Location close to Orvieto old town.

Review 82:Wifi - having to continually log in

Review 83:Proximity to old town and price

Review 84:Breakfast could have been a bit better.

Review 87:Just finding the place a bit hard

Review 88:Lovely breakfast

Review 89:Noise from the room next door.

Review 90:Breakfast and very clean hotel.

Review 91:The staff was friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very good. The hotel is situated on a hill with very beautiful nature and vistas around.

Review 92:clean, quiet hotel, 3 minutes drive to the old town

Review 93:It Has own parking space n a nice view of orvieto hill town.

Review 94:The beds might be a little firm for some peoples tastes.

Review 95:The location, the welcoming staff and the clean rooms made for a pleasant stay

Review 109:We enjoyed our stay very much. The staff went out of their way to be of great assistance. The breakfast was wonderful, the views were lovely and it was a quiet location. We would recommend it to anyone of our friends.

Review 110:Not suitable for travelers without a car. No lunch or dinner served. Only domestic Italian channels on the TV.

Review 111:Large room. Pleasant location, wonderful vview from fourth terrace. Helpfully staff. Always summoned taxi when requested.

Review 112:We enjoyed our stay at the hotel--location, room, breakfast. The hotel was wonderfully appointed and in a good spot to visit Orvieto. I would highly recommend the hotel to everyone. Very tough to beat for the money. Great value.

Review 113:Staff where lovely. We booked this a cheap staging post between Rome and Tuscany. Hotel was easy to find on the satnav and staff kindly stayed on until 12 midnight to check us in. Room was very comfortable, bright, and super clean. Breakfast was good, coffee superb! Many thanks ;0)

Review 114:Not in town but that is why it was a great value.

Review 115:Good value, slow pace, great seating area outside, quiet. Staff provided valuable knowledge on how to best visit Orvieto. Good included breakfast.

Review 116:They can't change the design of the small showers now but they couldadd a shelf for shampoo, conditioner and soap it would be very helpful. The walls were very thin and you could hear your neighbors but everyoneseem to all go to sleep at the same time so wasn't to troublesome.

Review 117:Very beautiful hotel, Great price we paid 68 euro for a triple roomand a view of the city. The front desk gave us a map and gave us ideasfor meals. Rooms were clean and it was a great value and served ourpurpose well.

Review 118:It's a bigger hotel than appears on advert 300 plus rooms. Traffic noise even though it's not near motorway.

Review 119:Clean room, English speaking staff. Good continental breakfast included in price. Very good value for money.

Review 120:Tiny shower stall and poorly arranged bathroom. No sound isolation in walls. You can easily hear people talking in next room. We had a bad experience one night with neighbors talking loudly until 1:30 in morning.\
