Reviews for B&B Le Fumarole

Review 1:Location is not good if you don't have a car

Review 2:Best part was our host - a kind local Mamma that you see only in the movies, whose genuine kindness and hospitality truly made our mornings and evenings unforgettable! Huge breakfast, daily trip advice all in one! I also really liked that for the first time the whole place looked exactly like on their photos.

Review 3:We weren't aware when we booked the room, that it was 45 steps straight up, which made it difficult to carry our luggage to the room.

Review 4:The view and the ambiance of the place was very nice. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Your are literally on the side of mount Vesuvius, but can get to central Naples in about 20 min either by train or car.

Review 5:No writing table in bedroom. No writing table in lounge either. Wi-Fi simply did not work during the three days of our stay. Staff said it was "broken". Later blamed lack of Wi-Fi on the weather. Our room was dark.

Review 6:Artistic decoration. Friendly service. Good location for visiting both Naples and climbing Vesuvius. Lovely view of Naples in the distance.

Review 7:The area outside of the B&B was very run down. Ercolano, the town at the bottom of the hill had nothing really to recommend it outside of Herculaneum (which *was* awesome.) Area between the B&B, Vesuvius and Ercolano looked like a ghost town. There were a few restaurants a short drive from the B&B but with fairly limited menus. An interesting walk up towards the volcano was lined with sculptures, but this was marred by a huge amount of litter - which appeared to be detritus discarded by the large numbers of cars parked up by the sculptures of an evening with mysteriously steamed up windows... :-( It seems that the area has been in decline since the closure of the chairlift to the summit from this area in the mid eighties, and is now just passed through by cars and coaches on the way to the carpark near the top.

Review 8:The B&B was lovely. Really nice rooms and common areas. Helpful landlady. Plentiful breakfast. Secure parking for car. Easy access from motorway - so not too much crazy Italian driving to cope with to get to Le Fumerole! Location on the slopes of Vesuvius, and very close to Herculaneum, and only half an hour from Pompei.

Review 9:Ercolano, the local town, is a bit of a nightmare for anybody (such as us) who is not used to the unique "style of driving". The answer is drive slowly and expect anything might happen.

Review 10:Le Fumerole is set in a superb location overlooking the bay of Naples and the islands. We had a car but the navigation system had a few problems identifying the route but we called into a shop outside Ercolano (the town below) for some help and before long a young man in a car arrived to show us the way. Imma was a wonderful hostess, very friendly and helpful. She will cook an evening meal if required and presented us with some lovely fish and pasta. The accommodation was very clean and well maintained. The location is very convenient for motorway access to visit other parts once you have worked out the route (it took us a day or two). It is on the lower slopes of Vesuvius and as close as you can get to the road which leads there. Drive up to the Vesuvius parking area and walk to the top. An exhilarating experience, both the scenery on the climb and then looking down into the volcano. Other guests who were using public transport said the bus service to the area was sometimes a little difficult but Imma had arranged for them to be collected from the railway station.

Review 11:A beautiful house, friendly host and a really clean and comfortable room. There is not a lot in the surrounding area so having your own transport is a must. We stayed for 3 nights and are still amazed by the view from the bedroom and private garden. Easy to find and very close to the road upto Vesuvius crater. Would recommend to anyone wanting a quiet stay in the area.

Review 12:Lacking in the details. Not very clean. Broken showerhead - which was obviously a known issue but just left like that. Room smelt of moist. Ashtray on the terrace not cleaned. Overpriced and overrated here compared to other places we have been to with similar ratings.

Review 13:- Friendly hostess - nice garden

Review 14:Nothing.

Review 15:If you like to relax and have an amazing romantic view on Naples bay, be sure to book this place. I proposed my Girlfriend from the top suite during sunset there! We were given by the Manager Imma the new suite and it was so amazing!! The view of 1.5 million light over the bay was spetacular. The place is positiones out of naples which is good and close to Ercolano and Pompei Scavi. Thank you Imma for a wonderful stay.

Review 16:Unfortunately the shower support in our bathroom was broken. The owner offered us to change room, but we preferred to stay where we were.

Review 17:The welcome we received was simply fantastic. Like in a family. Imma is a great and very friendly host!! She provided also very good tips for our touring around!

Review 18:View and room decoration

Review 19:Staff, breakfast and location.

Review 20:The dirtiest, smelliest place I have ever seen

Review 21:Location

Review 22:The wifi was spoty; hard to find; breakfast very basic.

Review 23:Location!! Once u find it, it's gourgous!

Review 24:We loved the location of the B&B, high above the Naples bay on the way to the Vezuvius volcano. The views of Naples, especially by night, were breathtaking. Ima, the owner, did everything to make us feel like we were at home and we thank her for that. From there, you have the possibility to go and see everything that Naples and the surrounding areas have to offer: Vezuvius is 15 minutes, Herculaneum and Pompei are very close and Naples is a 20-30 minutes ride away.

Review 25:Nothing

Review 26:Fabulous view of the Bay of Naples. Beautiful grounds. Wonderful location. Extra special treat on our last night - a delightful piano and dance recital on the terrace overlooking the Bay of Naples. La Dolce Vita.

Review 27:The room we had was okay but not great--and the food wasn't very good.

Review 28:The view was gorgeous, the location unique. It wasn't far from the observatory on the top of Mt. Vesuvius or from restaurants in Ercolano below. Rooms were clean. Staff was VERY friendly and helpful.

Review 29:Staying at Le Fumarole was, for the four of us, one of the highlights of the trip. All of us had a stay filled with warm memories. The mananger (Ima/Ema) was a delight. From the outstanding view (both day and night) of Naples and its beautiful Bay, to the delightfully decorated rooms, to the well manicured grounds, to its superb breakfast, to its warm hospitality, I give this B&B, on a scale of 1 to 10, an 11. Pat, Greg, Al, and Vivian (Florida USA)

Review 30:It was a shame that during our stay the owners were having a party which was very loud until 21:30. We were not able to relax and enjoy the facilities that the accommodation had to offer.

Review 31:The B&B was the best we saw in the area around Vesuvius. The room was simple but OK. The view from the balcony, leading off the room, was a fantastic one of Naples!

Review 32:Very disappointing breakfast. Coffee lukewarm and weak also the bread was stale.

Review 33:Warm welcome and helpful. Fantastic views from a terrace adjacent to our room.

Review 34:Breakfast was sparse but we found some great restaurants just up the road.

Review 35:Amazing location, staff was very courteous and friendly. You can't beat the views off their balconies and it is a short drive up to hike Mt. Vesuvius.

Review 36:The first night when we arrived, there was a party planned (between 1 and 4 of March in Italy there is a carnival). The owner assured us the life music and many guest will be out not later that 9.00 pm. Well, actually it was very noisy until midnight. There is central heating which was working just the first night. Although there was air conditioning in the room, the bathroom was still quite cold. Considering the high sealing and the red marble tiles, during the summer should be great. The breakfast is so so, the wifi - a bit slow and there is no shampoo or body-wash, only hands soap. Imma, who was caring basically for everything there is the main reason our stay to be nice and easy. Imma was very helpful, even bad in English, was giving nice tips and expressed interest on the guests. So overall - very nice facility which needs some changes to become just great.

Review 37:The house is gorgeous - fireplace, decoration, garden, it has spirit.. The view towards the bay of Naples is fantastic. it is situated on quite street almost on top of the living area on Vesuvius. You cannot dream for more if you are with car and you plan to explore Naples, Herculaneum and Pompeii, even Sorrento, etc.

Review 38:Well communication was bit of a problem since the staff members could only speak Italian. I guess it was our fault that we could only speak English since in Rome we should follow Rome rules. lol

Review 39:The scenery of this place was totally fascinating..The landscape seen from the balcony was simply dramatic never in my life have I witnessed such a view. The staff members were friendly and willing to help even though we couldn't speak the same language.

Review 40:Just a little far to experience the nightlife in Napoli

Review 41:Out kids wanted to stay and it was like visiting good friends. What an amazing venue, setting and people. If ever I stay in Napoli again I will stay here

Review 42:No privacy, next door to office and communal terrace. Cramped bathroom smelled damp, had to request change of towels.

Review 43:Cooked breakfast on first morning, not repeated on following two mornings

Review 44:Heavy car traffic in the area - but this is normal in Italy, specially in tourist areas.

Review 45:We were welcomed as friends, and accepted as part of the family.

Review 46:The owner Maria Grazie was very nice and helpful. Fumarole is a fantastic place to stay and the view over Naples bay was so wonderful. The breakfast was superior - the best we had in Italy ever. We would recomended the place and we are sorry because we stayed just for one night.

Review 47:Owner, Maria Grazie was very friendly and cheerful. Location was perfectfor Napoli, Herculaneum and Pompei if you have a car. The view from thebalcony to the bay of Napoli is wonderful.

Review 48:There is nothing to dislike. This property exceeded our expectations inall respects.

Review 49:We booked one night and stayed for five nights. The owner is veryfriendly and helpful with travel information. The location is quiet andexcellent for day trips. The gardens are beautiful. The rooms are veryclean, with balconies overlooking Naples. Breakfast is outstanding. ThisB&B is a gem!

Review 50:It could have used more hot water and it was very hard to find to begin with

Review 51:The lady from Geirgia (country) was fabulous! She explained where and why our room was decorated the way that it was and how they had acquired the wall hangings

Review 52:Breakfast was not to my taste, but a lot of effort was made.

Review 53:Location to vasuvious & Herculanium

Review 54:Perefect place, wounderfull owner, beautifull rooms.

Review 55:Strange neighbourhood, devastated houses.

Review 56:Exceptional view of Napoli bay, close to Vesuvio summit.
