Reviews for Grande Albergo Internazionale
Review 1:Without taking a taxi, a little far from the station. However, one can walk through main streets.
Review 2:Great location. Very spacious room and bathroom. Staff very helpful and friendly. Very close to good restaurants and a wine bar. Wonderful waterfront location.
Review 3:yes I actually slipped on the floor in the shower, I used the oil that was in the bathroom. ii think you really need to put a non slippery bathmat on the floor
Review 4:The room had the most fantastic view over the water. The room was large and very grand
Review 5:The location is stunning - make sure you get a sea view. Good sized room and bathroom, very comfortable bed and pillows. Slightly fading elegance in the public areas makes this a rather romantic place to stay. Staff were excellent, especially Mino at the front desk, who is particularly charming and helpful.
Review 6:Staff excellent, especially the morning we were leaving, we left at 5:45am and the staff on duty made us coffee and some snacks, the coffee was great and very welcome. Thank you.
Review 7:Very "tired" and after paying same price for pristine hotel in Ostuni, it definitely needs updating.
Review 8:Location. Comfortable quiet room. Friendly helpful staff. Amazing breakfast.
Review 9:The carpets are dreadfully worn out in the entrance to the lifts, and badly marked with bleach I would guess on the landings. Really lets the place down.Shame. Bedrooms on first floor excellent.
Review 10:Excellent location beautiful old building has some superb antique furniture.
Review 11:the interiors are old, but cosy
Review 12:Great location: it is on the seaside, airport is 10 min drive and nice restaurants around The staff is great--friendly and helpful
Review 13:Lack of information in our room. Nothing about the locality or neighbouring towns. Staff were helpful though re trains etc. One of our coffee jugs was very badly cracked and when we complained it came back 3 days later!
Review 14:Location beside the sea, cleanliness of the hotel and good restaurants nearby. Breakfast was very good.
Review 15:There were 3 lamps in my room, bulbs were missing on 2 of them and the third one was not working. Only the ceiling light was working. It was raining heavily during the evening and water was dripping through the base of the window. The room was poorly decorated. The furniture have most likely not been changed for 20 years or more. There was no blanket on the bed when I came in. No drinkable water in the room. It was a bit dusty. I only book this hotel because the other ones (Palazo Virgilio, Orientale etc.) were fully booked. I find it REALLY expensive for the poor comfort and environment.
Review 16:Well located
Review 17:Hotel is a bit tired.
Review 18:In my stay in Italy - hotel with lowest booking.com score, but the only one I could sleep in really confortable bed and had very good breakfast. At the end this is - what counts.
Review 19:The hotel is some what run-down And is in need of refurbishment which i believe has started. Some of the furniture is quite dated, and needs replacing.
Review 20:The staff were very obliging and happy to help. The hotel's location was very close to the main town and right on the beautiful waterfront. There were some very nice restaurants nearby.
Review 21:Stained carpets in public areas; lightbulbs missing; damp stains on walls. Housekeeping in the public areas needs attention.
Review 22:great location with free nearby parking.Large airy room overlooking the harbour, big en-suite. Air of faded grandeur. No noise from fellow guests
Review 23:The hotel is somewhat dated.
Review 24:We were in the Sala Reale. Can't beat sleeping in a room that was once home to a king. The reception staff were exceptionally helpful, welcoming and pleasant.
Review 25:Nothing.
Review 26:We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff are lovely and very helpful. The location is great with a lovely view of the water and plenty of great restaurants close by. We would highly recommend this hotel to others.
Review 27:The hotel was an old charming building but very worn and really needs a renovation.
Review 28:The location in the harbour and the climate in the room was very good. The staff were friendly and the room was clean althoug it needed a renovation.
Review 29:outskirts of Brindisi look awful - but perservere. Hotel Restaurant wasn't open for dinner - this was early May - but good restaurant next door. No kettle in room ( but prehaps they weren't expecting to be hosting avid tea-drinkers).
Review 30:Hotel location is excellent; right on the harbour promenade. Get a room with a stunning sea view. Not too far to airport. Easy to stroll around the centre. Friendly people; lovely break.
Review 31:Stay to short.
Review 32:Excellent location, seaview and close to centre. The staff was excellent, very helpful. Any questions was answered with a smile and nothing was to much for them.
Review 33:When we checked out around 7am next morning, there was no change for our cash payment. We would have expected them to have some smaller notes. The wind really whistled through the flagpoles outside our window.
Review 34:The junior suite, just one room, was huge, as was the bathroom with 2 sinks. The view was only first floor was impressive. Location was great, shops and restaurants all close by. We checked before 1pm and the room was ready. The girl on reception was extremely helpful, efficient and spoke English. She helped us with bus timetables, taxis, advice & printed off our boarding passes.
Review 35:Francesca was wonderful and spoke great English. Helped us a lot with exploration of Brindisi. Other staff were excellent also! Excellent view from rooms. Suggestion: replace carpeting in first floor reception area- makes first impression of hotel "old" and musty. Great hotel for archeological devotees as well as those who love to tour churches. Breakfast was tremendous!
Review 36:WIFI was terrible. Had to sit in the corridor to get signal. Place was full of convention people doing presentations...
Review 37:On the waterfront, beautiful old building with modern clean bathroom. Parking had to be on the street. Nice restaurant nearby.
Review 38:Public areas showing their age, could do with a bit of renovation
Review 39:Liked the location, staff were friendly and competent, rooms were clean and comfortable.
Review 40:Loved our front of the hotel room overlooking the walk and the bay! Excellent dinner within steps from the hotel. Great cappuccino. We'd do it again.
Review 41:Great location. We were only there one night but it was convenient to the airport, historic town center and has free parking!. What more could one ask for. The rooms were large and had harbor views. It is a bit dated but charming.
Review 42:They probably need to start refurbishing the place since humidity is getting more and more common in the back part of the hotel.
Review 43:I have been going regularly to this hotel for 13 years (since they re-opened after deep works). The staff have always been very helpful and nice. The place is incredibly stylish and looks like and old mansion !! Breakfast is great !
Review 44:If you came for beach rest-this is definitely not the proper hotel. Nearest beach is located in 30 min of drive in public transportation or 15 min by car. Hotel personal doesnt know details how long is the trip, where to exit, ets, and gave absolutely wrong information. So at the beginning was very discomfortable.
Review 45:Facilities, atmosphere, cleaness of linen, towels.
Review 46:parking wasn't available and a bit tricky to find since is in a "restricted area" of the town.
Review 47:Spacious room and bathroom. Nice staff. Lovely view. Location if you need to be right in downtown Brindisi
Review 48:Noisy Italians who came under my window to dance the Mazurka and the Tango from 9 p.m. till 1 a.m. (on a weekday).
Review 49:The hotel is situated along the promenade which is now mostly a pedestrian zone. Good breakfast, although the selection of the cooked breakfast might be improved.
Review 50:once it was grand, now it is shabby; looks like nobody cares
Review 51:interesting location
Review 52:A bit tired and in need of renovation
Review 53:Location
Review 54:Beautiful building but requires improvements throughout particularly the carpets
Review 55:Parking
Review 56:Carpets need to be changed in the common areas.
Review 57:Great location, very nice hotel with a rich history. Absolutely impressive architecture, must see.
Review 58:A bit dowdy but OK for 1 night
Review 59:A great location on the harbour front.
Review 60:Shabby. Badly staffed, strangely , badly run but we still plan to return
Review 61:Old fashioned charm
Review 62:The seafront is new and brilliant. And the hotel right on it.
Review 63:The hotel was in need of refurbishment including carpets and decoration of all public rooms
Review 64:The location and on site parking
Review 65:Nothing evlerything was good

Review 79:Problems with wifi

Review 81:Easy to find and could easily see all the sites on offer and main shopping streets. Staff were helpful and breakfast was good.
Review 82:Parking on the street away from the hotel.
Review 83:Staff were very friendly and accommodations were nice.
Review 84:breakfast was disappointing although we may have struck a bad morning with a large group in for breakfast
Review 85:comfort and cleanliness of the room
Review 86:Bathroom sink was blocked
Review 87:Facility and staff
Review 88:Nothing. Carpets were old, a.c was noisy, breakfast was not good, staff was not courteous, facilities were not matching a 4 star
Review 89:Everything other than the location
Review 90:Nothing, except the location
Review 91:Smell, noise from corridor, small breakfast selection
Review 92:View From our room was poor. Carpeting stained and worn. Everything looked run down
Review 93:Staff was wonderful. Location great
Review 94:This is a really nice hotel with a great location at the seafront. It has charm and character and we would definitely stay there again.
Review 95:Fantastic view on the harbour Excellent location
Review 96:Rooms worn out, smelling "old" Bathroom without soap, broken toilet seat Dirty carpets
Review 97:- some people might find it old fashioned
Review 98:- central location - nice and clean hotel
Review 99:We liked everything!
Review 100:We loved the ambiance, the location, the staff and only regret we only had one afternoon/night there. Would love to tell people to spend at least two full days in Brindisi at the Albergo Internazionale. Livia at the front desk made us immediately feel at home and comfortable. We departed with regret!
Review 101:Poor breakfast. Burnt coffee. Needs refurbishment. Shower head falling off the holder. Nice staff but worst value for money of any hotel we've ever stayed in.
Review 102:Large room. Lovely seaside view.
Review 103:Maintenance is an issue in South Italy and this hotel starts to show some evidences of some need to replace a few accessories... This is not a bothering matter yet but will be in a couple-three years...
Review 104:Most of the staff hasn't changed over the last 12 years and they know how to welcome customers. Breakfast is good considering this is south Italy and their expresso coffee is excellent ! The "promenade" in front of the hotel was renewed by the city and this is great, clean, quiet and you can walk along the waters of the ports like 20 yards away from the hotel .
Review 105:Although the bedroom was reasonably clean, the common parts including breakfast room were shabby worn and chipped. The breakfast room had stained/dirty tablecloths and the breakfast was poor.
Review 106:Wonderful location, great view and close to shops and perfect for an evening stroll.
Review 107:Very grand hotel with beautiful antique decor. Very helful staff and brilliant view. Handy to restaurants, easy to get ferries. Just loved our stay, one of the best hotels we have stayed in because of the ambionce and grandness of the furnishings especially the size of the rooms which were double the size of a normal hotel room. Thank you
Review 108:19th century wiring. Maybe I should have packed an "Italian" adaptor, but my Mac, phone and shaver wouldn't talk to the wall sockets.
Review 109:Worrying criticisms posted here by others proved largely irrelevant: it is old, in fact a handsome 19th century quayside palazzo, but my budget single turned out to be an elegant suite-sized room with large modern bathroom and a view over the harbour. The friendly staff even extended check-out time by four hours to accommodate my ferry times, gratis, when I offered to pay.
Review 110:Agreat place to stay, staff very helpfull and parked in hotel garage .Eating out great food very good. If you wish to take the harbor boat trip suggest you book at least a month prior to your visit, we would do it sooner. Drove around the heel and found good beaches.
Review 111:Location, excellent breakfast, fast WiFI in our room. Beautiful, big room facing the sea. Helpful and charming receptionist - Livia - (thanks a lot!).
Review 112:Tv channels only in Italian, there was no single channel in Enhlish .
Review 113:The view of the rooms in front of water bay is excellent. Staff are verypolite and pleased to service you. Rooms are newly painted, bathrromsare big enough. Breakfast is excellent, and variety of food. In oneword, is worthy staying .
Review 114:A bit down, carpets and upholsery very dated. Needs renovation. But on the other hand very clean and everything works fine (electricity, water, HVAC etc)
Review 115:Personnel, location, architecture, building. Restaurant next door, breakfast ok
Review 116:Hotel needs some carpet replacement
