Review 1：Location good if you have a car. Five minute drive to park alongside Ortigia; 10 minute drive to parking for archaeological site/museum. Avoided navigating city traffic! If we had known about the great pool, we would have stayed an extra day just to relax! Staff was limited, but very accommodating. Buffet breakfast was fine, with coffee (espresso) and capucchino prepared to order. No restaurant - but best to dine in Ortigia with a short drive back to hotel.

Review 2：Opening hours of swimming pool are strange 9:30-12:30/ 15:30-19:30, not possible use in evenings later. In rooms located to road side - noise from road coming in if window open.

Review 3：Very good hotel with big swimming pool and nice terraces to sit outdoor (for ground floor only). Good, friendly staff, clean rooms , free parking. Italian breakfast.

Review 6：The hotel was nice and clean, modernly equiped, airconditioning worked like crazy:) so good. Breakfast perfect and the pool was amazing. Especially when you got back, hot from travelling in the car and jumped in it. But nevertheless, big, blue, clean and refreshing. The location was great when you didn't want to stay in the center of the city or pay for staying in the center. But nothing really beautiful, just a hotel next to the road. What is great is, that the hotel is sort of a wall from the road. Everything, even little terraces for every room are behind the hotel, protected.

Review 7：We were unlucky with the pool not yet in operation (end of May) and nocoffee for breakfast - the machine was not working. We would not havecome, had we known, and stayed instead much closer to Syracuse - thehotel is further than it may seem. Perhaps a good location for businessmeetings out of town.

Review 8：A clean, quite posh modern hotel with quiet rooms overlooking a nicepool. Best shower facility we had in Italy out of 9 hotels we slept in.Very friendly staff.

Review 9：We chose The Albatross due to its location. It is situated a couple ofkilometers from the centre of Siracusa and has easy access into theTown and also to the Main routes. The hotel is modern, with thefeeling of a business/city hotel, yet it has a large pool at the backwith plenty of space for sunbathing. This was not operational at thetime of our visit, late in the season, but would be great after a hotday sightseeing. Our room was spacious and pleasantly furnished, witha view over the pool. The bathroom was clean and tidy and well fittedout. There were few visitors at the time of our stay, so we are unableto comment on soundproofing, particularly as the attractivemarble/glass staircase ascends in the centre, open to the corridors.The staff were particularly friendly and attentive and extremelyhelpful and accommodating with regard to getting around, parking andrestaurants etc., However, we did not think the breakfast offering tobe of a suitable standard. The fare was very limited. Perhaps this wasbecause the hotel was barely occupied. There was no fresh fruit onlybasic breads and pastries and a couple of cereals. This was a shameand detracted from an otherwise very good hotel, suited to a shortstay in the area.

Review 10：Loud music is played around the pool all the time, making relaxation difficult. The room A/C was somewhat ineffective. There is no restaurant in the hotel. Access to the hotel is by car or taxi as the road is too dangerous to walk in.

Review 11：It is excellent value for money. The staff are courteous, helpful and friendly. The rooms are comfortable.

Review 13：Very friendly staff. Excellent facilities e.g. the pool area own patio. Rooms large very clean. Reception area very good. Morning coffee brought to our room. Quiet. Close to Syracuse town and beaches.

Review 14：The only downside of the hotel was that the breakfasts were poor. There was only sweet items on offer - no cheese, meat eggs etc, nor fruit. Some of the bread and cake was not always fresh

Review 15：The Albatross is in a good location about 10 minutes from the old part of Siracuse. The room were spacious comfortable and well furnished and there was plenty of parking available. All the staff were extremely helpful.
