Reviews for Razza Del Casalone
Review 1:Only very minor niggles. Interior lighting a bit dim. The kitchen doesn't have a kettle; UK guests may find making tea from a saucepan a bit challenging. There is a fairly busy road to the front. You don't hear the noise with the windows closed but you need to be careful crossing esp. with kids.
Review 2:Elegant and palatial old Tuscan farmhouse converted into large apartments with magnificent oak beams, original doors and period furniture. Effective air conditioning and hot water. Adequate kitchen for breakfasts & simple meals. There are also small inexpensive chalets which seemed popular. Ideal for large family group like ours, very relaxing. Good clean private pool; delightful owner and very helpful staff; office opening hours a bit conjectural but any query or problem was dealt with cheerfully & thoroughly. Other guests friendly, relaxed and polite. Magnificent well maintained grounds, cicadas, Cypress avenues, lawns, beautiful flowers; adjacent fields, but close to town. Shopping centre 10 mins walk away (open from 8.00 - 13.30 and from 16.30 to 20.00. Closed all day Sundays)- surprising number of staff with a bit of English. Bus stop at the local shopping centre to one or other of the local beaches at different intervals. 25-30 mins walk from Grosetto centre; 5 mins in taxi from station. The Buffalo farm -10 mins drive, is fascinating - serious agriculture not 'tourism'; hot, and several hundred buffalo are pretty smelly, but with a shop where you can try buffalo ice cream, cappuchino, cheese & local produce in the cool. There is a sport's centre cafe opposite the main entrance where you can get coffee, drinks and snacks. A good base for exploring Tuscany or just chilling out. We'd like to visit again, but would hire a car next time. All in all excellent value and unforgettable.
Review 3:Having to find a garbage bin to empty garbage was impossible. This was definitely not satisfactory. Don't advertise buffaloes when they are not available to see. It cost us 20 E for nothing.
Review 4:We had the apartment under the eaves, which was a bit dark and lacked any outdoor space. The property felt a bit abandoned, the reception was only manned for a few hours a day. A busy road runs behind the property that can be heard from the swimming pool and at night.
Review 5:The swimming pool was superb, although too deep for our 7 year old, and therefore only suitable for young children using a floating device. Beautiful and well kept gardens and property.
Review 6:Couldn't throw trash inside the hotel area and had to find a bin somewhere in the streets. The espresso maker was a bit damaged. But all in all a very nice hotel!
Review 7:We were positivly surprised at the high service, perfect accomodation and that it was so well located in Grossetto. Razza del Casalone is as the pictures describes it. We had a very peaceful staying, no loud noices. We travelled with a baby and got excellent service from the staff arranging a water boiler, baby chair and bed. We would definitly recommend Razza del Casalone for our friends and would love to visit them again.
Review 8:The place is neglected and the location is mediocre.
Review 9:Space and air con. Lady that welcomed us was friendly and helpful.
Review 10:Great scenery, swimming pool and good appartment. Nice people.
Review 11:Location - it is next to a major road and the nois from traffic is 24/7. Not possible to get a sleep during night or any rest. Facility - swimming pool and chairs around we're dirty, Sam for the furniture in common areas We had to buy our toilet paper We were asked to trow the garbage however there are no garbage bins in the farm or around. You have to walk 700 meter on the road to find any garbed bin In the evening there are bats flying around the pool
Review 12:It is beautiful building They were helpful with recommendation for local restouramts
Review 13:Would be great if there were possibility to buy some local products( wine, cheese for example)
Review 14:Great design, feels like in old villa, beautiful surrounding, nice to sit in evenings outside.Great pool. Feels like outside the city, but actually located very close to main roads and trade center.Easy to find.Nice kitchen with all utensils. Free Wi-fi Lot of information what to do around the villa- activities, close cities, reastaurants. Pet friendly.
Review 15:The floor was swept but we still had black feet. Generally the place waswell kept. We had a gps and still had a hard time locating the hotel, the hotel signage at the hotel fence that faces the roundabout needs tobe relocated, it is blocked by overhanging branches.
Review 16:Very spacious esp the toilet, kitchen well equipped. Quiet place goodfor relaxing holiday. We were placed on ground floor, in front of ourroom we could sit outside on the garden chairs to drink coffee, look atstars and enjoy cold air:)
