Reviews for B&B SoleMare
Review 1:Room is very small (evidently this is normal in the 5 Terre). Eating breakfast on a very small table in the room is akward!
Review 2:The B&B is quite accessible - a long walk and perhaps 40 stairs to the room. The boat to the other villages and Portovenere leaves from the quay. Accomodation is pricy, but food and drink in Monterosso are reasonable.
Review 3:The location and room itself were great. Breakfast every morning on the roof was the highlight of our stay. Wanda is very personable and makes sure every guest is comfortable and happy. I felt right at home.
Review 4:One night we wanted to use the roof top and could not get to it as the door was locked from inside. Had we been told we could not use it that night, we would have made other plans.
Review 5:Wanda was extremely friendly and helpful.
Review 6:The location is a little far (similar to most places in Monterosso) from the train station so it made travelling to the other towns slightly tedious. The wifi signal was also very weak in our room and frequently disconnected.
Review 7:Relatively large bathroom compared to the other place we stayed in at Vernazza. Owner also allowed us access to her roof terrace during our stay. Owner also made breakfast for us and delivered it to our room.
Review 8:Great location in Monterosso, excellent terrace with the absolut best view, superb hospitality. Room was compact, but had everything, including beach towels, was quiet and kept flawlessly clean. Would definitely recomment to friends and family and stay here again.
Review 9:Nicely decorated and very clean rooms. Air conditioning is definitely a plus during the hot summer days. Location is within minutes of the local restaurants and the beach. The terrace is also a good alternative for a relaxing evening. Wanda was very nice and helped us with everything we needed during our stay, made us feel right at home. Would definitely go there again.
Review 10:Small room and a little pricey but I guess it's normal in Monterosso. Wifi signal not good enough.
Review 11:the owner was very kind and friendly. Room is clean and newly furnished. The roof top had great view. Very close to the beach and train station. Location is good. Very lovely B&B to stay.
Review 12:Host was extremely helpful from time of booking. Excellent advice on how to get there(especially to reduce the number of stairs), restaurants, etc. beautifully presented room, lovely rooftop, excellent breakfast.
Review 13:It was a small, what in Australia is called a 'standard' double bed i.e. 150 cm, despite being billed as a 'king' on booking.com. A ceiling fan would save on the air-conditioning bill
Review 14:It was well located away from the noise and the absolute centre of the village, yet only about 150 metres from the town and a kilometre from the station. The double glazing was great as was the balcony The cleanliness and hospitality were exceptional
Review 15:Situated in the heart of the old town. This B&B is clean and nicely decorated. Wanda is a generous hostess who went out of her way to make my stay enjoyable. The beautiful rooftop deck is a little sanctuary and the perfect place to rest after a busy day exploring.
Review 16:Some people may have problems with the steps and stairs. We didn't
Review 17:The owner made is feel very welcome. The roof terrace with a view to the sea is a beautiful place for eating, sunbathing and relaxing. A romantic place to stay
Review 18:Staying in the Cinqueterre means climbing steps. Not advisable if you are handicapped.
Review 19:Our little balcony away from crowds and noise was so peaceful. The hostess Wanda found a doctor for my emergency and even helped administer treatment. The room and bath were immaculate and thoroughly modern. Her husband Emilio's family has had the property for 5 centuries! They had lots of interesting historical information and suggestions for activities.
Review 20:SoleMare is in the centre of the village. The room is extremely clean and tidy. The owner is helpful and very kind. She made excellent recommendations regarding restaurants. I would have appreciated a stand to put suit cases on. It is important to keep in mind that the stairs to the rooms are very steep.
Review 21:Very small room with limited hanging space for luggage but we managedthis pretty well a lot of stairs to navigate...travel light and hopethat the owners are there to assist you...they did this very well not soeasy to find although we were given very precise instructions!!
Review 22:Lovely owners very helpful with luggage made to feel very welcome freedrink for 3 day stay on terrace carried our suitcase downstair
Review 23:Very small room with no space for luggage or clothes. No soundproofing between the units, therefore little privacy. Steep stairs were a killer at the end of the day.
Review 24:The hosts were fantastic, even changing the mattress for a softer one. Daily room cleaning. Fabulous rooftop deck.
Review 25:Bed was the most comfortable we've had in Italy with feather pillows & a coushin top to soften the bed. The breakfast bag was fresh & delicious. Wanda even made a proper capuccino & had it in our bag one morning (kept hot in a travel mug!). Delicious! Our room had a lovely little patio overlooking the cobbled lane way - perfect place to sit back & have a wine in the afternoon. Room is small but we managed to fit 2 medium & 2 small bags on the floor with just a little rearrnging of the table & chairs. Wanda is a fantastic host - always willing to help, you just need to ask. Highly Recommend!
Review 26:The weather was warm so we would leave the windows open and found it noisy in the evening. It was quite close to a bar. We were in Italy for 3 weeks and found the breakfast was quite meager compared to the other places we stayed at.
Review 27:Excellent location with a wonderful roof top patio.
Review 28:The owners were very nice and friendly to give you advice on how to make the most of your time. Room accommodations were updated and very clean which was great. The beautiful roof top deck was a fantastic place to relax
Review 29:Difficult access for wheeled luggage, with flights if very steep steps .
Review 30:Handy to all attractions and services in old Monterosso. Great range of restaurants only a rew steps away. Good directions given
Review 31:The rooms are very very small and the breakfast is a basic takeaway style each morning. There are many steep stairs to get up to the b&b and then again to the rooms, which is difficult with luggage.
Review 32:This b&b is a 10 minute walk from the station and has a lovely host. The rooftop terrace is very nice for a drink or a picnic dinner watching the sunset.
Review 33:Storage in the room was limited, but workable. Not really any counter space in the bathroom or space in the shower to put your bath products.
Review 34:B&B SoleMare was an excellent place to stay. It is in a central location in Monterosso with easy access to everything the village has to offer. Wanda was so helpful and happy to give us advice on where to go and what to see in the area. We loved the terrace for two and the aperitifs on the rooftop terrace as well. The room was extremely clean and well kept. One of the cutest B&B's we have ever stayed in.
Review 35:Lots of stairs and a bit pricey for a B&B but I guess that is because it was Monterossa.
Review 36:The room was lovely although small (but typically Italian). We really enjoyed our hostess.
Review 37:The steep stairs and lift to the roof terrace. Breakfast was minimal and the coffee in thermos flask was not good. Expensive for what it was. Building work directly opposite and adjacent to property. Hence very noisy.
Review 38:Location. Host very pleasant.
Review 39:The flight of stairs leading to the room were very steep and difficult for me as I have knee problems.
Review 40:Wanda was very gracious and helpful. We loved the bagged "to go" breakfast on the deck overlooking the sea. The room was attractive, but small, as I understand are most rooms in Cinque Terre.
Review 41:No issues!
Review 42:Wonderful personal care from owner
Review 43:The room was a little small. But most places in the area would be too
Review 44:Our hostess and our breakfast :) The location was very central.
Review 45:A perfect position. The owners were very friendly and went out of their way to ensure we had a perfect stay.
Review 46:Lovely host, great location, good breakfast
Review 47:She was super friendly and our room was very tidy and comfortable. Would definitely stay here again if we visit cinque Terre.
Review 48:Wanda was amazing. She was super nice and our room was very comfortable to stay in. We loved her B& B and can't wait to visit again
Review 49:Beautiful terrace and fabulous host
Review 50:MANY steps to reach room
Review 51:Delightful and accommodating owner
Review 52:difficult to find - take a shuttle taxi from the parking lot
Review 53:great location bed very hard room small but functional
Review 54:The stairs
Review 55:Everything about the magical place called Monterosso al Mare and B&B SoleMare
Review 56:A bit small
Review 57:Breakfast, apperatifs, location
Review 58:Location Staff Town of Monterosso Lots of great restaurants
Review 59:The owner's hospitality was very attentive! The room was very clean and friendly! The terrace was fabulous....
Review 60:It was central to the area and very comfortable. The terrace was an extra bonus which was relaxing after a full active day doing the trails.
Review 61:It should be clarified that one must park at the entrance of the town and walk, so that one can plan accordingly
Review 62:Very carefully looked detail, fantastic breakfast bag in the morning, location is outstanding
Review 63:The steep stairs to our room but have to expect that.Would not worry a more youthful person!!
Review 64:Charming hosts--loved the aperitif and nibbles on the roof terrace on our first evening--a nice touch
Review 65:The room was immaculate, the owner takes a lot of care in keeping everything clean and tidy. The décor was beautiful and made the room feel fresh, there were fruity air fresheners in the bathroom and plenty of soaps and toiletries as well as towels. The bathroom facilities themselves were modern too which was nice and the shower worked very well. We had the smaller room but it had everything we needed, a big mirror, hangers, tv etc. The best feature is the balcony which you access from a small lift outside the room. The view in beautiful and the owner allows you to sit up on the deck chairs or at the table at any time. It was great having the breakfast prepared in a bag to go because it meant we could take it up to the balcony or walk to the beach with it which was nice. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!
Review 66:Minimal breakfast in the bag. Lift to the roof-deck is very slow. Price like a hotel, to expensive for B&B.
Review 67:Room, bath and roof-deck are beautiful. Kindly owner person.
Review 68:A tad noisy The steps; but it is cinque terre Lack of storage and space inthe room
Review 69:Wanda was very hospitible and helpful and nice Aperatif on the roof garden was nice Good location Neat and well kept
Review 70:Lack of wardrobe space. However wall hanging was provided.
Review 71:The owner made us feel most welcome with apertifs on the roof. This made our stay more pleasurable.
Review 72:Friendly service from our host Wanda, beautifully furnished and clean room, conveniently packed breakfast to take with us for the day, attractive rooftop garden, complimentary aperitifs on the third night of our stay
Review 73:The owner Wanda makes you feel very welcomed - very easy-going yet classy touch to customer service! The apartment is clean and decorated with such a refined taste. The small details makes you feel home With the owner's energy put into your smooth stay, you get to feel how it feels to live in authentic Italian historical old town Location near excellent cafes, authentic restaurants&enotecas and little supermarket with good assortments Overall you'll get service with very personal touch and extra caring, and if you want to stay 100% on your own, you'll get a good chance to that too.
Review 74:2 sets of steep stairs to B&B and room. No common room other than terrace.
Review 75:Wonderful location - room very well decorated and hostess charming and accomodating
Review 76:Stairs to get to the hotel, but this is common throughout the Cinque Terre. Breakfast served at local café, it was basic but did the job.
Review 77:I loved this B&B. Wanda was such a wonderful host. The location of this B&B is in the old town on Monterosso - in the heart of all the beautiful old buildings and very close to the main beach. The train station is only 15 min away by walk and the hotel was very easy to find, thanks to Wanda's clear directions. I would highly recommend staying here. A word of advice. It is best to bring a small/medium size suitcase when travelling to this region due to the amount of stairs. This B&B had a few stairs to get to the room (no lift). There is a lift that takes you to the beautiful rooftop Terrace, where we enjoyed complementary bottle of Prosecco and nibbles (for 3 nights stay or more) and the view from up there was just breathtaking.
Review 78:The location was great. The room was very clean and nicely decorated, very comfortable and had a small cute balcony. The owner Wanda was very nice as well. We would stay there again.
Review 79:Wanda was a wonderful hostess. She prepared a lovely, light meal for us on the rooftop patio. What a lovely, relaxing way to end our eventful day of exploring magnificent Cinque Terre! Our room was very clean and comfortable. We would definitely recommend the Sole Mare to fellow travellers.
Review 80:Beautiful small B and B, very quaint, exceptionally clean, great location, wonderful owner Wanda was very friendly and helpful. The location is very accessible to beach, train, shops and restaurants.
Review 81:Fantastic location and Wanda was so helpful. The lift to the rooftop wasn't working when we were there but we had such a great stay. Definitely recommend it.
Review 82:A bit pricy, but then again you are paying for location. Breakfastserved at a nearby cafe was alright, but not great by Italian standards.
Review 83:Definitely a good location for visiting Cinque Terre, right in themiddle of the action, and really close to the water. The room/showerwere quite small, but very comfortable, clean and well decorated. Thehost was nice and welcoming.
Review 84:At 150 EUR/night the rooms are probably a bit more expensive than comparable b&b's. There is also no breakfast in the b&b itself although there is a good arrangement with a cafe nearby where breakfast is served inclusive of the price.
Review 85:Wanda was a wonderful, patient and helpful host. After getting lost at night she took the time to help us find out way to monterosso. The rooms, although small are comfortable and functional. Location is superb at 3 Minutes to the seaside in the old town. Highly recommended.
Review 86:The cost was a little steep compared to other places that were similar. Also, check out was a little early for vacationers.
Review 87:Wanda was very helpful and the neighborhood was amazing. I felt like atrue Italian!
Review 88:I liked everything! Wanda was a gracious and accommodating host, the rooms are modern and decorated beautifully, the rooftop terrace has gorgeous views of Montorosso. The breakfast was included in a nearby cafe, and was quite tasty. Also, if you stay 3 nights or more, Wanda will do rooftop canapes and drinks in the evening - a very nice touch! We are coming back for sure!!
Review 89:On the small side, but I think they are all small in Moterosso. If you have lots of luggage, beware the stairs.
Review 90:Great location, super friendly owner. Highly recommended
Review 91:Wanda is the perfect hostess. The location, cleanliness and rooftop terrace make this place great. Wanda is so nice and helpful and Monterosso al Mare is the best place to base yourself to walk the other towns. We really enjoyed our stay for 3 nights. I can not recommend the town and B&B Sol Mare highly enough.
Review 92:It was a lovely but brief stay - breakfast was a croissant & coffee at a cafe just around the corner; so quite simple.
Review 93:We stayed in a beautiful room with ensuite & the location was fabulous; smack bang in the middle of Monterosso al Mare. Wanda left a greeting of fresh blood oranges & water for us - which was nice.
Review 94:We had to park about a 30 minute walk away as it was busy & there is no car access in the town, I wish we had known this so we could have packed light, suitcases & steep hills don't match! Get the train there, it is a lot easier.
Review 95:We enjoyed our stay at this little B&B as the room was very clean & the bathroom was great, the terrace was lovely with views of the roof top & sea, breakfast was a voucher for a cafe down the road to have a coffee & pastry. Good central location but not noisy during the night at all. Perhaps a little expensive but a good B&B in Cinque Terre!
Review 96:A little pricey but a very clean facility.
Review 97:Wanda was extremely friendly and hospitable. When I asked her where a laundromat was, she insisted that I use the washer in her apartment. She even offered to do it for us. Thanks Wanda, you're too kind.
