Reviews for Windmills Break
Review 1:Quiet, lovely garden, modern and luxurious room with secluded outside patio leading on to the garden. The late lunch (1 to 5.30pm) is perfect for arriving guests, and was a clever, beautifully presented and superb quality meal in appropriately modest portions to share. The breakfast was equally fine. The staff were pleasant and very helpful - one sensed it was a nice working atmosphere for them.
Review 2:Pool spa.
Review 3:Loved the peacefulness, grounds. Such a shame pool and spa were not available. Posdibly could have been refected in price. Breakfast awesome.
Review 4:Television reception very poor, kept losing service part way through a programme.
Review 5:Lovely quiet location. Very nice breakfast, served at an unrushed pace
Review 6:Air conditioner would not stay on and was difficult to get working The bin in the room was eventually found in the bathroom cupboard and was small
Review 7:The location
Review 8:Book on the hotel's website instead of other booking agencies as these are misleading in regards to what features the rooms have. Also upgrade construction was underway on the property and the booking agencies didn't reflect that on thier website even though the hotel's site clearly notified on thier site. The prices are exactly the same or cheaper on the Windmill Break website.
Review 9:Exceptional customer service with impeccable rooms and facilities.
Review 10:The pool and spa was closed down for maintenance, this was the reason I booked this retreat to begin with. The hotel didnt update booking.com that there was a delay. But even if the pool was working for the size of the room, the lack of patio area to the court yard (in room 2) it's a little over priced.
Review 11:I liked the landscape, the staff were friendly, the breakfast was amazing. Spa bath was very deep, rooms were clean and comfy bed.
Review 12:Not a five star as quoted. No restaurant after 6 pm and the bar closed shortly thereafter. Rooms are tired and not size for a 4 or 5 star. This is the old Laughing Clown Resort, generally a tired building with great grounds and a nice bar area but it closes at 6.30pm.
Review 13:The only thing , I would say was the fact there were no main meals too keep me in the stay . Breakfast was lovely and with a good feel to it .
Review 14:The atmosphere was great and to be able to chill out and take in a well earned break .
Review 15:Good service. Loved our little private area outside the room with the sunbeds. It had an easy access fence that went straight to the car park - made unloading very convenient
Review 16:Its 5 star rated but accomadtion we stayed in was very worn and abit out dated .
Review 17:The staff were extremely helpful . Beautiful gardens . As it was winter pool etc were available But not heated which was ok for us .Breakfast was included and you had a good choice to choose from.
Review 18:They didn't offer dinner when we were there and we had to drive or catch a cab to go out for dinner. After wine tasting during the day we thought we would relax at the resort and have dinner in the evening. The TV reception was terrible.
Review 19:The spa suite we stayed in was very nice. The staff were friendly. Breakfast was very nice. The gardens and pool area were also lovely. A very peaceful place.
Review 20:Not being able to just kick back at night with a meal available on site. Could you provide a picnic type dinner if the order came in before three o'clock?? Then provide plates cutlery etc in rooms!
Review 21:The peaceful quiet gardens and pool was fantastic
Review 22:Nothing I would happily stay here again
Review 23:Great room, comfy bed Free use of tennis courts Breakfast was fantastic one of the best offering I've ever had Helpful staff with a fantastic knowledge of some excellent local restaurants
Review 24:not a fan of UHT milk for the in room making of tea/coffee (but this is not an issue when using the communal coffee making facilities near the lounge) Disappointed that the restaurant isn't open for dinner anymore (this was one of the highlights last time we stayed at Windmills)
Review 25:comfortable bed very helpful staff
Review 26:Problems seem to exist with Internet. TV service intermittent in the evening and confirmation of booking was initially incorrect.
Review 27:Staff are friendly and the location is ideal for the area.
Review 28:The Windmills branded wine namely the white wine supposedly SSB was undrinkable which at $30 a bottle was less than impressive. No dinner service - which wasn't identified on confirmation email. Staff are an asset.
Review 29:The check in was easy and the staff very helpful. The outdoor area including the pool was amazing!
Review 30:Aircon was a little too loud. exsaust fan in bathroom did nothing. Very disappointed there was no dinner dinning. When I booked the room the details as to the bathroom was not clear and I assumed there was a spa, at the price I payed for one night. The Patio could have done with some shade during the hot hours of the day.
Review 31:The grounds were very beautiful and relaxed. The Restaurant and Bar was lovely. and Staff were very helpful and nice.
Review 32:They put us in room 5 which was right next to the kitchen which was really noisy and that ruined our relaxing weekend. The noise stopped around 11pm and started at 6am. For this reason we will not be returning to windmills break.
Review 33:The gardens and pool were nice. The staff were nice. The location was good.
Review 34:The large garden was inviting and relaxing, as well as the room and courtyard. The staff were helpful and friendly and contributed to a very happy environment. The restaurant breakfasts and meals were of a very high quality. A beautiful place to relax and enjoy .
Review 35:The quietness of the resort was amazing......no children allowed which helped! The staff, particularly Brian, were amazing. Catered for you every need and went out their way. The breakfast pancakes were the best I've ever had. A must, if you go.
Review 36:When we stayed here probably at low season evening meals were onlyserved Thurs to Sun which is only ,for us,a small inconvenience as thereare several good restaurants nearby
Review 37:We stopped here for 7nights travelling from uk en route to Melbournewith the idea of staying somewhere quiet and relaxing to take the edgesoff the jet lag .An excellent location ,lovely gardens ,beautiful roomand attentive staff always on hand to answer any queries.Situated a fewkm from Dunsborough and 30mins from Busselton /Margaret River itcouldn't have been better
Review 38:Nothing
Review 39:The room was generous in size and fit out. Loved the outside space attached. The ground were well kept and nice for a stroll, loved the spa shame the pool isn't heated. Great breakfast every day and the dinner is definitely worth staying in for.
Review 40:No ambiance in restaurant, poor selection of a la carte food. Vastly overpriced for the location and what is on offer. No wifi internet connection for the duration of the stay (important for us).
Review 41:Room was spacious and clean Nice breakfast Pleasant staff
Review 42:Thankyou for treating us like celebrities. Such a breath of fresh air to be spoilt by attentive but non-attrusive staff who genuinely have your best interest at heart. Beautiful setting with a sense of time stops here. Although weather was against us on our stay, the warm fire, fresh complimentary homemade pastries and real coffee on hand set you up for a totally chillaxing time without the feeling like you missed out on something 'out there'. Serene garden settings and big comfortable bed...ahhhhhhh! We will be back :)
Review 43:a number of key lights did not work, noisy fridge, DVD in bedroom area did not work, slippery tiles in the bathroom - beware.
Review 44:Loved the peaceful gardens, really attentive staff, pool area was very relaxing. Close to good restaurants as Windmills Restaurant not open Monday or Tuesday.
Review 45:The walking path could be improved...the path takes you to an area with garden refuse and some dead end areas. The hot water was weird...going hot and cold intermittently.
