Reviews for Affittacamere Monterosso 5 Terre
Review 1:Could be updated and cleaned.
Review 2:Our hostess was the most amazing, kind lady. We felt so welcome. The location was perfect for heading out to see all the different towns. We would recommend it to anyone!
Review 3:We loved this place! Stayed two nights and everything we needed was on hand. Cherry and Cora were warm friendly and so helpful. The room was well appointed and the breakfast was very good. It's walking distance to the beaches and about 10-15 minutes walk from the train station. Highly recommend.
Review 4:There are no windows in the "suite." It is also not a suite, but only a single very large two-level room with 4 beds. Everything was broken. Many pieces of furniture and the narrow staircase to climb to the second level are covered in duct tape. Most electrical outlets didn't work. The fridge, the tv and the hair dryer didn't work. The shower didn't drain well. The street is quiet, but in the morning there's plenty of noise in the room coming from the kitchen and from other guests in the yard.
Review 5:Apartments in a decent location close to many restaurants and just a few minutes away from the sea and the train station. The "suite" sleeps many people in a communal atmosphere, if you don't mind sharing one bathroom with clogged shower. Decent breakfast.
Review 6:Nothing bad room had only one window away from the main area, also the sprial staircase to the beds was not the most convenience to get too.
Review 7:Location to restraunts and shops.close to the beach.Quite location.Cherry was very nice negotiation a reduced rate for the two of us, and went out of her for breakfast request.
Review 8:Sherri, the proprietor, is the best. She accommodated everything from finding us free, overnight parking to securing us a great room when we decided to extend our stay in town.
Review 9:The owner changed our room without sufficient notice; we had expected the only triple room only to be advised that our room was changed to a double room by the operator. The message regarding this change was sent after we had departed the U.S. and just 6 days prior to our scheduled arrival. The town was fully booked and we had no options. We felt taken advantage of by the owner in this respect; traveler beware.
Review 10:Bit dated and not good layout of the apartment Very small bathroom and shower leaked/sprayed everywhere Could have been a bit cleaner- not bad but not spotless.
Review 11:Amazing staff! Good location- other side of the tunnel so will have to walk from train station Lovely coffee and breakfast
Review 12:The owner was very helpful and accommodating. She helped us figure out the overnight parking situation since daytime parking in August is very crowded. The breakfast meal was prepared fresh on an individual basis. Great location in town.
Review 13:Great location in the "old town" of Monterosso al Mare, but this place is updated and thoroughly modern. The owner, Cherry, was lovely and welcoming and very helpful for us.
Review 14:We were greeted promptly upon arrival. The room exceeded expectations. The hostess went above and beyond to meet our needs. Breakfast was delicious.
Review 15:We had few A/C issues and though it is a B&B there is no one on site all the time (though some of those were resolved when we informed the host. We didn't bother to tell her the issues later on). And I dropped something on the floor of the room and when I picked up there was someone else's hair which was a bit gross! But these were minor issues and it was overall value for money in CT where everything is quite expensive.
Review 16:The host Cherry! Lovely lady who wanted to make sure everything is fine and made sure we were given all the information we needed prior to arrival.
Review 17:under facilties said the room came with tea/coffee machine but there was just a kettle. There was no mini bar. Also top electric windows didn't work.
Review 18:Friendly staff, bed & breakfast location
Review 19:However we asked for a gluten free breakfast in advance, this was not the case. When asked what we could eat instead, we were laughed at. We ended up buying something in the nearby market.
Review 20:Airco was a plus in the heat.
Review 21:There is nobody to greet you when you arrive. We were asked to pay cash because credit card facilities were not working. Had to explain several times that we had no cash before they accepted credit card payment (which was working)
Review 22:The location
Review 23:Nothing really, except our air conditioner seemed to kick the bucket during the night. The other location had no air conditioning at all so they moved a unit into our room that really wasn't effective as it blew more hot air than cool. And that location was way up from the town and had over 150 stairs to climb up or down, not good if you have a bum knee. Cherri, wonderful about everything, arranged for a taxi to take us back up to get our luggage at the end of our stay and as this was an impromptu reservation, I can only be grateful to her for all she did. Both locations are absolutely beautiful and she is truly an incredible person. There isn't anything she won't do to try and make your stay memorable and it was. Thank you Cherri, we loved you!
Review 24:Cherri couldn't do more to welcome us. We had a terrible day of cancelled trains so showed up later than expected. We just gave her a call and she was there within seconds. She immediately made me a cappucino (I guess I looked like I needed it). Because we lost a day, we asked if we could book another night, no luck at that location but she arranged for us to stay at her other location in the new town, took care of moving our luggage and everything. She was awesome!!!
Review 25:breakfast was weak. staff cannot speak english well and it was difficult to communicate. They asked hotel fee by cash claiming that post machine was out of order.I insisted in credit card and the post machine restarted to work.
Review 26:bed was cosy.
Review 27:Nothing to fault...except perhaps some salt and pepper to use with breakfast would be good.
Review 28:Spacious loft, comfy bed, great breakfast and friendly staff
Review 29:Nothing to dislike
Review 30:Cherry was very welcoming. The location was ideal and the breakfast first class. The room was a generous size and I would recommend a stay here.
Review 31:Some furniture is damaged i.e the table legs that are taped together or dated eventually needs to be replaced. The shower was tiny, but this is typical for Italy.
Review 32:We were lucky we could park our car securely in the small car park above the old town. The location is excellent in the old town of Monterrosso. Cherry and her staff are lovely as is the wonderful breakfast they serve.
Review 33:Visited 3 of the 5 towns of Cinque Terre, Monterosso was the best to stay in. Hosts were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was amazing. Cutest town you will ever see and the place was perfect! Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Review 34:The B&B was located a short walk from the train station and beach (about 10-15 minutes with luggage). The accommodations were clean and comfortable and provided everything we could need. Our host, Cherry, was amazing and very willing to help with anything we needed. Breakfast was wonderful with fresh cooked omelets, fruit, pastries, meats, and cheeses. I would definitely stay again and recommend this location to my friends and family!
Review 35:While not at all an issue for us, some may expect a large room. The owner did a great job of describing the accommodation in an email and true to her promise, her hospitality was truly warm.
Review 36:The room was clean and comfortable and the owner very accommodating. The breakfast was really quite nice with eggs and coffee to order as well as cereals and great daily pastries and breads. A truly nice little place that is highly recommended.
Review 37:We love the lay out of the apartment which is large enough to accommodate up to 6 people. The owner Cherry was great. She met us the train station, took our luggage and drove all of us to her apartment. The breakfast service was awesome. At the end of our stay, the owner took all of us and our stuff back to the train station again. This place is much better than any hotel we stayed before. The beach side is clean and many local restaurants around. We love to go back here for a summer vacation again.
Review 38:We thought room was a bit small for 3 adults.
Review 39:Great location, short walk to shops and beach. Spiral staircase to sleeping loft was steep, but a nice comfortable bed. A beautiful generous breakfast was served on our patio.
Review 40:The water heater turn cold quickly
Review 41:Easy to find as Cherry sent the email describing how to get there after we booked the room. She prepared beautiful nice cappuccino for us and helped to check out my questions. The room is clean. Good size with a dining table that we could all sit tgt n feel like at home.
Review 42:The apartment we had was perfect. but if you had trouble with stairs this would not be the apartment for you.
Review 43:Loved that there was only a few rooms. ours was very large and perfect for a group of 4-6 people. The breakfast was so good. the staff bent over backwards to make everything perfect, even doing cook to order items. Was nice to start the day with a great meal. Perfect location in the old town neighborhood, with easy walk to the new section. Loved this town. If you are driving you park in lot and walk down, (this is true for the whole town) not a problem but I recommend you travel light going down as you have to come back up.lol
Review 44:All good.
Review 45:Excellent location in Monterosso, easy walk, no steps into apartment. Cherrie and her staff were excellent and very helpful. Lovely breakfast, lots of varIety, eggs cooked perfectly. Beautiful fresh focaccia each day. Monterosso is a beautiful village, very friendly. Some lovely cafes and restaurants.
Review 46:Be warned, spiral staircase to sleeping loft is tight & steep. Staff offered to make up sofa bed if going up to sleeping loft a problem.
Review 47:Staff were very eager to make our stay enjoyable. Updated, clean room. We found Montarossa to be the most attractive town to stay in of the Cinque Terre. Inn is a gentle uphill walk from train station.
Review 48:No major withdrawals although no facilities as its just a small guest house
Review 49:Staffs are all very friendly and nice although they are sometimes not in the apartment, breakfast is also nice with plenty of fruits and bread
Review 50:The beds are all located in a loft up a narrow steep spiral staircase which might be a problem if you have mobility issues
Review 51:Friendly welcoming hosts, the breakfasts were amazing with a great variety of pastries, cakes, fruit plus eggs cooked to order. We had one open plan room for four people which was very spacious, almost like a mini apartment, great location in the old town just a short walk to shops, restaurants and the beach
Review 52:TV did not work 95% of the time. Safe key had been lost and had not been replaced, so no safe. Totally not adequate for senior citizens!! Bed is up steep narrow stairs and bathroom is downstairs! Would not consider this facility ever!!!
Review 53:The spiral staircase was narrow and steep. Not good if you need to go to the bathroom during the night.
Review 54:Staff were great, offering a hot coffee and eggs the way you like them at breakfast. All included in the price. WIFI works.
Review 55:EVERYTHING! Cherry was the most helpful host I've ever met. The place was charming and clean, great location. The front entrance is discreet, immediately across from the Hotel Souvenir Sign. They serve a wonderful breakfast. The server (forgot his name) is a delight. He was very nice and hospitable. If I come back or know anyone going to CT, I would recommend this place over and over. Even the other guests that we had the chance to meet loved Cherry and everything about this place. This place was perfect. AC, Wifi, breakfast, and cleanliness were all available. Can't wait to return.
Review 56:Cherry could not have been nicer or more helpful. Her bringing us a chilled bottle of regional white wine every day did not hurt either! The location was great, very quiet, and right in the heart of town. We will recommend to our friends without hesitation should Cinque Terre be on their bucket list. Her assistant who prepares the breakfasts displayed the same qualities of Cherry.
Review 57:Apartment is spacious and provides good breskfast with plenty of fruit selection and eggs@ staffs are friendly and helpful, location is a bit hard to locate but its fine with us
Review 58:The bathroom is located below the bedroom area via a spiral staircase. Aword to travelers regarding Monterosso in August. Visit by train only. There are very few parking facilities in the town and parking is notincluded with the majority of the rooms for rent. If you find parkingalong the road side ahead of the town gate or in the parking garage, thefee is 18 euros per day.
Review 59:Our room was nice with a private bath and comfortable bed. Breakfast wasserved in a lovely courtyard with eggs cooked to order. The owner washelpful in getting us to the property and finding a place to park ourcar. Since we had to park quite a distance from the main town area, theowner transported our luggage to our room and supplied a taxi for ourdeparture.
Review 60:Hair dryer was weak but very minimal issue
Review 61:Amazingly friendly staff; excellent breakfast on the patio with made to order eggs/omelettes; very clean and modern; A/C worked great; close to restaurants & shopping; short walk to the beach & train station
Review 62:Nothing. It was all good!
Review 63:Everything. We stayed in a double storey room with living quaters and a bathroom downstairs and beds upstair which was accessed by a spiral staircase.
Review 64:Not a problem for us, but people with mobility issues might not be happy with the narrow circular stairs to the upstairs sleeping area. In that case you should use the downstairs sofabed.
Review 65:Great location, friendly staff and the best breakfast ever! The communal terrace is a wonderful place to unwind and escape the summer tourist crowds.
Review 66:All good!
Review 67:Location was perfect, Cherry the owner met us at the station and gave us clear direction and had someone waiting at the apartment. Breakfast was served every day by an awesome guy named Hill, he was brilliant and cooked anything we wanted. We have a small child and a baby, cherry organised transport to the train station on departure and Hill came with us to help carry our luggage. Wifi worked well. The service by the owner and Hill is what makes this place a success.. top marks and would recomend this to anyone. In hindsight we should have booked a bigger room , but that was my fault not Cherry's. The triple room is quite small.
Review 68:The seating and sleeping areas were too small for 3 people. Very steep staircase to get to the double bed. Unsuitable for older people. The website states there is a washing machine but it is a paid service off the premises
Review 69:Very close to everything. Staff very attentive to all requests.
Review 70:Car parking is an issue. Go by train in high season, but not a fault of this accommodation.
Review 71:Staff excellent they helped us with difficult car parking situation they went beyond expectations. Patio area for breakfast was great. We even sat one evening for a glass of wine. Excellent position in the village.
Review 72:None
Review 73:The location is excellent. The size of the apartment is good. The bath room is bit small, but it is all like that in Europe. Staircase could be bit challenging for younger kids and elder. Wifi is good.
Review 74:Everything was great- the staff, facilities, breakfast, location. Everyone went out of their way to make our stay perfect. Definitely would stay their again and recommend to anyone traveling to the region. You will not find a better hostess than Cherry.
Review 75:Location was great with a short walk to the beach and plenty of restaurants. We were treated to a glasses of iced coffee when we arrived after a long train ride. Breakfast every morning was included and buffet style. Our room was very unique with a spiral staircase leading us up to the second floor. When we asked for more towels to take to the beach they were prompt. Fantastic service.
Review 76:Spacious and clean apartment that is very close to the beach. Cherry was an amazing hostess who provided a lot of local information. The breakfast in the morning was delicious. The family apartment was very spacious and well appointed. Highly recommend staying here.
Review 77:Accommodation was great, breakfast was wonderful, and staff were amazing!
Review 78:The owner is amazing! love her! If you want to enjoy cinque terre and sleep in a friendly, welcoming and cosy place - This is the right choice!
Review 79:Really friendly and helpful hosts.
Review 80:We are an older couple and the winding staircase into the bedroom loft was a bit frightening.
Review 81:The location and the staff.
Review 82:No complains

Review 84:The breakfast in the morning was great! The delicious scrambled eggs were exactly what I needed before the long hike to Vernezza.
Review 85:Not many of the plugs worked hair dryer broken TV reception bad
Review 86:It was a great location and the staff were very helpful and incredibly pleasant
Review 87:Apartment a little 'tired'.
Review 88:Monterosso is definitely the pick of the 5T.
Review 89:What you actually get for the money. It was expensive without many benefits.
Review 90:Very kind and helpful staff and they spoke English.
Review 91:Great hostess Very comfortable bed Good breakfast Good location Close to parking lot
Review 92:The room was so dark and you don't have natural light.
Review 93:Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast, good location.
Review 94:This B & B was a bit of heaven. It's located on a quiet street. It has a lovely patio The room was small but served our needs

Review 99:Location. Good parking
Review 100:Bed a little hard after a long day walking
Review 101:Friendly owners who provided delicious breakfast Good location in old part of Monterosso al Mare
Review 102:Nothing.
Review 103:Location was great. Very roomy. This was more of a B&B. Great breakfast in the morning. Oustanding service. Would return there.
Review 104:Care needed on stairs to bed, small shower which is typical of Italy.
Review 105:Location, excellent breakfast and hosts.
Review 106:Loft bed a challenge for those with vertigo.
Review 107:Location and friendly staff. Best omelette & scrambled eggs ever for breakfast. Great service.
Review 108:the stuff there is so nice just like our friend.the breakfast is great.it is a best hotel to live ing
Review 109:The stairway to the loft bed was tricky to negotiate on trips to the bathroom.
Review 110:A quiet spot to relax, yet convenient to all activities.
Review 111:The space is like a shoe box! Bed is up in a loft accessed by spiral stairs and there is less than 6" between was/railing and bed.
Review 112:Host was wonderful and helpful. The room was clean and bathroom facilites are top-notch. Breakfast was delicious.
Review 113:that we had to leave. ;-)
Review 114:Location was outstanding, Gil was fantastic and friendly and provided breakfast for us each morning. Cherry was very attentive to our needs and provided us with information about train schedules, places to eat, etc. Truly a great experience overall. Also, the Quad room is VERY roomy. The pictures dont give it justice.
Review 115:The location is excellent; near the bustling center of town, but far enough away that it was quiet in the evening. The owner and her staff were quite accommodating and we would stay there again!
Review 116:only one bathroom located down stairs. No views but Monterossa has all of the views anyone would need!
Review 117:Great location, terrific hostess and fantastic breakfast. Our hostess greeted us with some focaccia bread after our busy travel day and it was just the perfect appetizer. Two couples fit just right.
Review 118:No window in the suite. I don't think breakfast was as good as previous comments, but it was ok. There was tea but not coffee in the room.
Review 119:Lots of space., six persons can sleep in the suite if you use the sofa bed. Excellent location in the middle of Monterossos old town.
Review 120:We were supposed to be met at the train station but the taxi driver who was to meet us was not there when we arrived and the station was jammed with people. It was hailing and pouring rain-the only day that we had rain and we had nowhere to stand out of the weather to meet the driver. After a phone call the driver arrived and took us as far as he could. The Affitacamere is down a small lane too narrow for the cab. When the driver dropped us off he told us the B&B was three doors down which was a church. We called the B&B number again and were given the street number and found the B&B-2 doors further up the street. It was an adventure but after that initial experience the room was everything advertised and the owner was a great help.
Review 121:The breakfast was great-eggs prepared any way you like them (I selected omelets with ham and cheese), salumi, cheese, yogurt, fresh fruit, cereal, coffee, juice. The staff was excellent, friendly and helpful.
Review 122:Wifi only works outside on the patio.
Review 123:Friendly and welcoming staff (she was waiting for us on arrival and gave us juice). Awesome breakfast on the beautiful patio. It's right in the heart of Monterosso but tucked in a cute little side-street. Very new and clean bathroom. Room was comfortable and nicely decorated. Would definitely stay there again.
