Reviews for Agriturismo La Sovana
Review 1:Highly recommended. A car is a must in the area, to explore the surrounding small villages such as Pienza, Montepulciano and Montalcino.
Review 2:Perfect alternative for an Agritourism hotel in Southern Toscana. Beautiful views, excellent facilities, great staffing and unforgetable breakfast.
Review 3:"liked-less" : our apartment terrace seating place a was a little of a walk -through; Breakfast is "one-size fits all" - a light-breakfast option would be preferred- else it's expensive. wifi too intermittent for some family members - but loads of effort made to ensure re-connection & comfort by management.
Review 4:location, view, peace and quiet, gardens, pool, restaurant, tennis courts, apartment
Review 5:The apartment was very poorly equipped. The kitchen can hardly be used for cooking and gives you the idea of a camping. The basic tools are missing and we did not even have a normal coffeemaker. Also the bathrooms offer zero comfort and there is not even room to put your toothbrush.
Review 6:The hostess who received us was very kind. The surroundings and views are also beautiful.
Review 7:we had a wonderful stay and can really recommend this hotel, the view to the hills from the pool is great, the stuff is helpful and very kind, the hotel location is top, it is really like a home in tuscany
Review 8:In the restaurant: menu not available, prices around 50 Euro for a regular dinner, very long time to wait. Room not tidied up.
Review 9:the location, very quite and relaxing.
Review 10:On the first night we were unlucky (along with three other couples) to be placed in the open air seating area behind the restaurant building as the restaurant was full and the remaining tables with a view out across the pool and hills were set up for families. While the set-up for our tables was done prettily, it feels a bit of a forgotten alley and the only view to the hills and sunset is through the glass windows of the central covered restaurant area. To avoid this we felt that better use could have been made of the areas at the front of the terrace occupied by 'drinks only' tables which had direct views out but were not in use during the meal. That apart it was all lovely and, on request, we had a table with a view on the second night that we ate in. The food and service were fantastic.
Review 11:My husband I left our 20 & 22 yr-olds at home and stayed at La Sovana for a week after 3 days in Bologna & Florence. It was a huge success. A wonderful and peaceful setting - and a fabulous pool, which was never over-crowded as there are only a small number of rooms at La Sovana and invariably different guests were out on different days. La Sovana is within easy reach of many fantastic hilltop villages and towns - large and small. (Tip: if you're after something local and special, don't miss the two restaurants at the end of the main square in Cetona, which is just a few kms down the road. You'll also find a delightful deli with home made wines and other produce up the side street on the back left-hand side of the square - they have 6 sidewalk tables there where you can have a light lunch.) We alternated days by the pool with day trips to towns near and farther afield, including Arezzo & Cortona which you can do together in a day if you leave by 9..... The grounds at La Sovana are beautifully laid out - attention to detail is impeccable. And the wine tour is well worth doing... We stayed in the studio for two looking out over the vineyards - basic but very clean and comfortable and it suited us very well - not least the large terrace for yoga stretches after our regular morning run through the vineyards! We didn't see any of the rooms up at the main house but if the common areas up there are anything to go by I am sure they are fantastic. Highly recommended - from a rather fussy reviewer!
