Reviews for Grande Albergo Miramare
Review 1:We really wished the rooms here had ironing boards, after all the restaurant has a dress code. Hotel charges extra for beach and pool access. Very crowded parking lot.
Review 2:This hotel has an isolated private beach and a wonderful pool, and a fantastic restaurant. Dress code. Breakfast italian was good. Rooms are great, we had a room with a nice view and a private balcony. Nicely decorated. Location was OK, 5 minutes to drive to Formia.
Review 3:Had only a couple of days that I could stay there...
Review 4:Excellent property, being a hotelier myself I feel I would be giving a more critical view. This property ozes character and old world charm. We got married in the sister hotel just down the road from it but stayed here on our wedding night 4 years ago, the owner of these hotels remembered us and asked to see us on checkout where he presented us with a bottle of wine. This was a lovely gesture and made the stay even more memorable. We used to spend our childhood summers in the property next door and it the hotel has not lost one bit of its enchanting charm. This is probably the best all round hotel I have ever had the pleasure of staying in.
Review 5:We didn't receive our passports right away and our credit card wasn't returned. This meant another taxi ride and expense and less time to enjoy Formia.
Review 6:The setting, view, and the room. Also the lovely buildings.
Review 7:Felt a bit excluded as a non Italian staying there. Staff were nice but had limited English (the guy in reception was good enough at English though). Weirdly they had translations of everything in Russian but not much in English. It was a 10 euro taxi each way to get there from Formia station (more than the train cost from Roma). Not much to do in the immediate area. It wasn't clear whether or not lunch or dinner was an option, I had lunch but they were catering for a large wedding occurring at the same time so there were no other non wedding guests around really so felt a bit lonely.
Review 8:Beautiful surroundings. Beautiful hotel and the staff were great. My room had a beautiful view with a large balcony and toiletries of every kind you might need was provided. Breakfast was okay - choice of yogurts, cereals, breakfast bars and fresh juices. They also offer eggs and omelettes cooked how you like. Food and wine for lunch was delicious. Would recommend for a holiday to sit and relax but not to see any sights (unless you have a car, then it might be different).
Review 9:The staff all went out of their way to help with the littlest of things to make our stay pleasurable.
Review 10:bed was too hard for me
Review 11:Beach, view, gardens, patio
Review 12:Good view, Very good breakfast buffet in lovely outdoor setting. Very quiet
Review 13:The place needs a scrub, repaint and maintenance all over.... Also better breakfast...
Review 14:Location and view from room.
Review 15:The rooms has old fornitures.
Review 16:The place is beautiful , close to the beach , the breakfast and the restaurant are very good.
Review 17:The staff was crabby and curt with us. Always seemed like we were bothering them, except for a waiter by the name of Andrea B. He was one of the best waiters we had during our several week trip. This is a beautiful hotel that was probably something in it's day but is old and tired now. Would be a great property to update.
Review 18:The grounds are beautiful.
Review 19:As the hotel is located on a road with busy traffic you hear trafficnoise in your suit though the hotel villas are separated from the roadby a garden. Air cond also makes noise so if your sleep isn't deepenough bring your ear plugs. The hotel beach same as other neighbouringbeaches doesn't offer enough space for swimming because has a shape of asmall & shallow harbour separated from the sea by stone breakwater. Onthe staircase it smells like an old building.
Review 20:The hotel offers beautiful scenery and good facilities. Staff is veryhelpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet is very good, just feel free toask the waiter for frittata (omelet) or ricotta or both:-) We stayed atthe hotel ending June so it was a very quite & relaxing atmosphere. Goodvalue for money.
