Reviews for Albergo Suisse Bellevue
Review 1:my ocean view would have been wonderful but there was a tree that needed to be trimmed - told worker and they just looked at me - if I'm paying for an ocean view I should only see the ocean not greenery the shuttle bus was the best
Review 2:There is a shuttle every hour which people were jostling over but the drivers would come back for any one who was left behind. It was a very steep climb to walk back from the town but well worth it for the view
Review 3:The view from the room with sea view and the grounds were amazing. This is an excellent location for walking through the Cinque Terre. It is in a very peaceful location - the 5 towns were unbelievably busy for mid September. I had read complaints about rules but there was simply a request to ask for towels for the beach and to leave key at reception
Review 4:Nothing bad at all, just an unusual hair dryer for those of us gals who like 2 speeds/heat levels, because there was only one, the lower heat level. Upon arrival in the area by car, we were confused about one instruction in provided directions that led us wrongly up a tiny winding road, but found a lady who steered us right, in Italian, which I speak. There doesn't seem to be a map of the 5 Terre in adequate detail for drivers, no fault of the hotel.
Review 5:The staff were very warm n friendly, well informed about the area, very welcoming. the view was gorgeous, facilities very pleasant throughout, very good buffet breakfast, shuttle proved dependable, and convenient. Other guests were warm and friendly too! Staff dealing with guests were all conversant in English.
Review 6:The staff was realy not nice First they didn't let our friends to come visit us because they didnt had their passport with them (and we had to wait an hour to go back to the village because of the shutle service). Then we had a huge bee in our room and they laughed at us (finally they handled it but were really not nice)
Review 7:The location and the view
Review 8:The shuttle added a layer of complication to the train, ferry and meal timing. The road down to Monterosso was single lane with no sidewalk and many switchbacks and we did not feel safe walking it.
Review 9:The view was excellent and the room was quite large. Breakfast was cold except for a hard boiled egg but provided a balanced meal..
Review 10:The rooms were larger then most European rooms. Have been updated and very comfortable. Hotel up on hill, very quiet and picturesque. Close to town with a complementary shuttle. The buffet was excellent.
Review 11:Hourly shuttle to Monterosso wasn't enough at busy times of day or in evening hours. Ended up paying 8 EU for taxis.
Review 12:View of all 5 Terre Villages from hotel, and breakfast buffet.
Review 13:Hotel very accomodating by providing a fold away for extra person, but balcony room would have been better option in this case to provide more space
Review 14:Location, amazing view, outdoor areas to take in the view, shuttle service
Review 15:A bit of pre-planning has to be considered for the shuttle service. The bed was not soft nor comfortable - recommend using the cushy pillows from the futon-chair in the room for a softer nights sleep.
Review 16:The View is breathtaking and our stay was quiet and peaceful.
Review 17:Our towels weren't changed daily, not a big deal, but because we were hiking, swimming, etc., we would have preferred fresh towels. Taking the shuttle to and from the hotel was easy, but having to plan our day arond the shuttle schedule wasn't ideal.
Review 18:The views were gorgeous. Our room was also lovely and the breakfast provided was great.
Review 19:Our room faced the hill so we did not have a view of the water. I did not realize when I booked the hotel that we would need a shuttle every time we wanted to go into town.
Review 20:The front desk worker (blonde German woman) was very nice and helpful. The view was amazing!
Review 21:Hairdryer is the old school type as in most of italian hotels. No warm breakfest, few selection of salty food.
Review 22:Location is amazing! Shuttle service works properly. Best hotel in cinque terre. Good selection both for active and passive holiday.
Review 23:Close to restaurants and festivities yet far enough away that it was a tranquil and quiet setting. At night we had our windows open and could hear the stream across from our room which made us feel that we were in mountains.
Review 24:Really good value for money. It was nice to be away from the busy crowds and that view! Make sure you request a bedroom with a sea view. Would definitely come back.
Review 25:The first day, my room and bathroom had many ants. The receptionists are not nice. The breakfast has not good fruits
Review 26:The room has a good size and the hotel has a beautiful view.
Review 27:Breakfast was a bit boring. Walking up the hill to the hotel is a long way - 40 minutes.
Review 28:Nice rooms - but very small - Monterosso!!! Awesome views from the hotel.
Review 29:breakfast could be better I believe it was poor
Review 30:the staff was very helpful and kind, the view was amazing, the hotel provides a mini bus from the hotel to the town and back every 1hour so was very helpful and also had 50% discount for the beach and a towel
Review 31:The staff were extremely unpleasant to downright rude. We were yelled at at breakfast for sitting in the wrong table despite it being virtually empty. It was like pulling teeth trying to get any information from them. Everything seemed a problem. Way overpriced at €160 per night. Facilities run down and location inaccessible by foot.
Review 32:The beautiful retaining wall outside our window and people walking past looking in while we used the bathroom.
Review 33:The price for the room was too expensive compare To what we have received, it was one of the worst rooms I have ever been at.
Review 34:The view....and that's all
Review 35:If I stay again in cinque Terre I would come back here. I liked being high up on the hill away from the bustle of the village. Peaceful & tranquil. The bus facility from hotel to monterosso was well organised.
Review 36:the service was not the 'happy' kind of service we like and even with the time of season and touristy location it felt on the high side in terms of cost.
Review 37:beautiful view from the terrace of the hotel, great shuttle service down the hill into town, great swimming
Review 38:Being used to price / value offer of hotels and resorts in Asia one get's spoiled. Most hotels in Europ are pricy for what you get. The Suisse Belleview does provides a great price value offer with the best view in town, so nothing to complain.
Review 39:The Cinque Terre coastline views are stunning! Spacious terrace area in front of hotel where you can sit. The silence arond the hotel being away from the hustle of the Monterosso village.
Review 40:Loved the thick white fluffy towels. Loved the breakfast selection. Loved the free shuttle service. Loved the view & deck chairs. Loved how clean & well kept all the equipment was. Loved the professionalism of the staff.
Review 41:The fact that this hotel sits up on a hill away from all of the others and the tourists means that the atmosphere is very peaceful and you also get great views! Make sure you know when the free hotel shuttle is coming because it's be nearly impossible to get up there with your luggage! There is a trail that runs behind the hotel to the top of the mountain and there are amazing views of all five cities of Cinque Terre! It's about a 45 minute hike. I'd definitely stay here again!
Review 42:Breakfast disappointing (especially for vegetarians), cramped elevator
Review 43:Vantage location that gives a view of all five villages, regular shuttle to station and back, cleanliness
Review 44:the view from the hotel is simply stunning! you can see the whole bay at the feet of the mountain, it´s breathtaking. therefore you should book a room with balcony and seaview... the hotel is quite simple, but clean. you pay the price of a 5-star-hotel mainly for that view...
Review 45:The location was brilliant. Beautiful views from the balcony. Very peaceful setting. Regular shuttle buses to and from the town centre. Excellent shower.
Review 46:The clean comfortable rooms, helpful staff, great breakfast buffet, free rides to/from town & spectacular views of the regional coastline. I would highly recommend not only the hotel, but also the town of Montorosso.
Review 47:The Albergo Suisse Bellevue was fantastic. Everything was outstanding and the rooms and breakfast area were impeccably clean as was every other part of the hotel. Breakfast was very nourishing and plenty if it. The views from our room and outside the hotel were absolutely to die for. An added bonus was the free shuttle to the village and back every hour until midnight. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Review 48:The breakfast was rather plain and the same each morning but filling and nutritious
Review 49:Loved the view and the peace and quiet. The night lights of the 5 towns were very special
Review 50:My only complaint is that the "shuttle" that takes you back/forth from the hotel/into town was not always reliable. For a couple of fit people, the walk to/from the hotel was not overly difficult, but has some steep climbs and takes at least 20-30 minutes, so the shuttle was necessary if you wanted to get back to the hotel / into town quickly.
Review 51:we had an amazing view of the water and loved both the nighttime and morning views. Even though it was cloudy for half of our trip, the view was still amazing. the shower had great water pressure and the bed was comfortable enough. Having a table and chairs on the balcony allowed us to relax and unwind while enjoying the view of Monterosso and seeing the other cities from afar.
Review 52:We didn't know that there was a shuttle to get up there, so my friends and I hiked up the mountain and they were exhausted after a day of hiking- its steep to get up there!
Review 53:Breakfast was great, the view with the balcony- fantastic- they have the ferry shuttle, and maps on the wall of everywhere we had been- we wrapped up our trip here.
Review 54:To get in and out of hotel, waiting for shuttle, twin beds put together as king. Too small TV with very few English channels.
Review 55:unbelivable view of Cinque Terre and the ocean.
Review 56:* Wifi was a bit slow, though it worked quite reliably. * Weird that each time they did the room cleaning they would unplug my phone charger and close the window blinds. * Not the Hotel's fault, but almost all hike paths by the sea were closed in Cinque Terre. We were really looking forward to them :(
Review 57:* The view from the Hotel is amazing. * The parking was big enough. Even with the Hotel super full, there was room. * The shuttle that takes you to the city was amazingly punctual and did as many trips as needed until everybody was able to travel (it had capacity for 8 people and at rush hours there were way more people wanting the ride).
Review 58:The views are amazing, but for as little time as we spent in our room, I would stay somewhere else if I were to do it again. The other reviews here are correct: The beds are not comfortable, the walls are thin, the breakfast is nothing mediocre at best. You will get more than enough amazing views if you do any of the hikes (we did from Vernazza to Corniglia - awesome) or just exploring the 5 villages. If I did it again, I would find a place with a great breakfast and more up to date accommodations. Don't worry about the view from your room...you won't be there much anyway.
Review 59:The hotel was up a mountain. The hotel did not provide information on how the shuttle worked prior to arrival. The sign indicated that it was about 1km from the train station, but did not indicate that is was about 3km STRAIGHT UP! The shuttle service needs to have more frequent trips, especially during high demand times- morning, dinner, etc. If there are more passengers than the shuttle can carry, provisions should be made to make a second run immediately.
Review 60:The view from the hotel was excellent!
Review 61:The partial lake view was really little. Not much of a lake view actually, so I would advise guests to opt for the room with full lake view if they want to be able to gaze out of e balcony to see the full lake.
Review 62:Staff were helpful. They went beyond to let us know where is nice and worth visiting in Lake Como. Room was spacious and toilet was clean; we were happy to get what we paid for.
Review 63:Bed could have been more comfortable. Our queen was two twins pushed together, and they were a bit springy.
Review 64:Shuttle was easy and always in time. Nice breakfast, and friendly staff.
Review 65:It was sometimes a bit of a pain to catch the shuttle, but it was worthit to be up high with the gorgeous view and away from all the touristsand noise below. And really, have a drink or a gelato while you wait!I wouldn't stay here if you didn't have a room with a view.
Review 66:Amazing view (best in town I think -you can see all 5 villages), quiet, good breakfast, clean. Really helpful staff -they are not the "inyour face" overly friendly types but great if you just ask.At first we thought it might be too far away from the action, but the view and quiet more than made up for having to catch the shuttle (or walk or spend 8 Euro). Walk down is easy - about 15 minutes - and way quicker if you are those older German tourists who blew by us with their walking sticks! The way up is "a hike" for sure - but nice views! Originally wanted to stay in one of the other towns, but so glad we stayed here! The beach is awesome!
Review 67:Distance from town. There was a convenient +- hourly shuttle, but trips to and from hotel had to be planned with shuttle schedule in mind.
Review 68:The views! Also nice, clean and quiet. Overall good value.
Review 69:There was nothing we didn't like although I suppose having to work round the shuttle bus times could be a little inconvenient but worth it for the view
Review 70:The wonderful view from our balcony, very quiet, clean and nicely decorated. The receptionists were very helpful and pleasant
Review 71:Breakfast was minimal and had assigned seating. Staff was not very friendly.
Review 72:The view is amazing. Nice large room and great shower. Shuttle was nice.
Review 73:Wifi was bad at certain times of the day and kept disconnecting.
Review 74:Very friendly staff and beautiful view from the balcony. The shuttle to and from the hotel was very useful and appreciated.
Review 75:the hotel was located a lot further to the centre than I thought and it was a very long uphill walk.
Review 76:liked the taxi bus that picked us for pickup and drop off to the centre.
Review 77:This would not be a good place for children or teens. The staff could have been friendlier and more helpful. I needed internet, not just WiFi.
Review 78:Laura, who served us breakfast, was friendly and efficient. The breakfast was tasty. Our room with a balcony was lovely. Shuttle was helpful in returning from town.
Review 79:No 'system' for taxi - those with no concept of order could cause an international incident - staff aware but not really bothered. Noise travels too easily through the hotel.
Review 80:Smart,clean, modern facilities in our room and public areas. Good attentive staff especially at reception and in the breakfast room. Breakfast of a high standard and included a wide range of options. The views across Monterosso and the coast to the south. Taxi to and from town.
Review 81:Disappointing breakfast, prepared with minimal effort. Lot's of "don't do this and don't do that" in the hotel. The lady at the counter wasn't exactly friendly. Quite expensive for a 3-star hotel. Ok for a 1-night-stay, but I wouldn't want to stay there for longer.
Review 82:The view is awesome.
Review 83:Staff polite, but were off-hand at times. Reactive, not pro-active at all. Breakfast - it was ok, but a bit like the release of rations at times. Considering it was August, fresh fruit and tomatoes were very limited.
Review 84:Lovely view. Very clean and tidy
Review 85:The breakfast was so poor ! In this meal you see all kinds of biscuits !!! In my 4 days, on every breakfast I cut an apple then I see black color inside of it and little worm !!!!! Far away from the city you would prefer stay in town all the day rather than wasting time with the mini bus that runs every one hour. Latest , some insects could share the room with you !
Review 86:The staff was good and helped me through various situations
Review 87:Staff was mixed, some very nice, some unfriendly..didn't answer many questions about things we wanted to see/do, I wish the shuttles into town ran a bit more frequently
Review 88:Overall a good stay and nice location with beautiful views, pretty easy and convenient to get to town, Breakfast was good
Review 89:There was a smell of insecticide every time we entered the room. There were ants on the balcony, and once we've found some in the room. The shuttle bus hours are badly synchronized with the train, so you need to wait 50 minutes many times.
Review 90:The view from the balcony was great. The room was relatively large.
Review 91:Surly staff at front desk. Numerous rules e.g. Hotel closed at 2:00 a.m., don't remove food from the breakfast room, don't use the room fridge for your own items. Breakfast pretty basic (no toaster e.g.). No extra pillows in room, no reading lights, small bathroom and ours had ants in it. Overpriced for a non-view room.
Review 92:View of Monterosso; Shuttle bus to Monterosso.
Review 93:A real shame there was no swimming pool. It would have made it perfect. If you missed the shuttle it was a hot 15 minute walk up the steep hill back to the hotel. They could perhaps have been a little more generous with the toiletries in the bathroom and even though the bedroom was quite large there were almost no drawers to put clothes in.
Review 94:We had a clean, spacious comfortable room - with a view down the coast that was possibly the best view we've ever had from a hotel bedroom. The staff were friendly and pleasant and the hourly shuttle into town and back (which ran until after midnight) was very handy. Although there was no restaurant, the buffet breakfast was good and there are any number of excellent restaurants in the town.
Review 95:Like most Italian hotels the bathroom was small but adequate.
Review 96:The hotel has an amazing view not only when there but on the shuttle ride up and down. The rooms are spacious. The shuttle service to town is fantastic - though the walk down can be fun (not the one back up if you miss the bus)
Review 97:Breakfast ok (Muesli, cake, bread, ...), but with small choices of cheese and sausage.
Review 98:Shuttle-Service was very helpful and always in scheduled time interval. Great view to the Cinque Terre landscape.
Review 99:The hotel is not in town, even thought there is a shuttle but you have to abide by thier schedule. Also the staff is your typical italian, they are rude and condencending.
Review 100:The room was big, comfortable and clean. The view is fantastic, we had one facing the ocean with a huge balcony.
Review 101:The location is not optimal. The hotel has phenomenal views, however you are subject to the shuttle schedule or taxis to reach the hotel. If you like to hang out and not be on a schedule, I would advise not staying here.
Review 102:Clean rooms and great views.
Review 103:The wifi was very patchy.
Review 104:The hotel is beautifully situated high above the beach and town. We had very comfortable beds and enjoyed the buffet breakfast. But the best part of the experience was the helpfulness of the staff, from aiding me in tracking down a lost suitcase (from the airline) to giving us detailed directions on where to visit. They were all fantastic.
Review 105:A shuttle runs every hour from the hotel into town but the location can be inconvenient if you want to just run to your room to grab something. The view makes up for it!
Review 106:The hotel sits up on a hill and the view is amazing!
Review 107:Our room had a tremendous view looking south over the entire length of the Cinque Terre. It was bright, clean and very comfortable.
Review 108:Very average quality of breakfast
Review 109:Fantastic view of Monterosso and the the coastline. Good shuttle service to the village below.
Review 110:The hair dryer The frequency of the shuttles was inadequate given a full house most of the nights we stayed.
Review 111:The view was excellent
Review 112:Restricted breakfast hours and menu
Review 113:Transportation between hotel and town
Review 114:nothing much
Review 115:location, shuttle service, etc. ...
Review 116:No coffee and tea facilities in the room
Review 117:The breakfast and shuttle bus service
Review 118:The view from the room
Review 119:rooms were really small
Review 120:clean and shuttle ran you into town to prevent the steep hike up and down the hill
Review 121:Location and cleanliness were fantastic. Free shuttle bus was great and always there when you wanted it. A relaxed and friendly hotel!
Review 122:View from front balcony excellent. Shuttle from town very good. Too far and steep to walk. Very clean and breakfast very great. Top place.
Review 123:Most rooms do not have a view at all and there is no patio to enjoy.
Review 124:The view from the parking lot is amazing.
Review 125:Breakfast could be better. Nicer pillows.
Review 126:Location. Clean wifi. Nice bathrooms. Shuttle guys were great.
Review 127:excellent view, position of hotel, staff...everything
Review 128:breakfast was basic...
Review 129:breathtaking view, very quite...
Review 130:No view from breakfast room
Review 131:Location and shuttle service
Review 132:Nothing we didn't like
Review 133:Fantastic position made possible by reliable taxi service.
