Reviews for Grand Hotel Fagiano Palace
Review 1:a 27 in by 27 inch shower is a bit tight, but workable for us
Review 2:Quiet, with a wonderful view of the sea, right on the beach and flowers all over the grounds. The staff is great and can't do enough for you. Very near my cousins so perfect for what we needed.
Review 3:Grand Hotel Fagiano Palace appeared to be a perfect place to have a nice quite rest near the sea. The hotel is situated just on the beach and in few bus stops from Formia-Gaetta train station. As we prefer to have english breakfast in the morning we were a little bit disappointed not to see any hot dishes. But the breakfast is fine: coffee, milk, cornflakes, toasts, jams, fruits, croissants, different muffins and slices of ham and cheese. The stuff is extremely polite and qualified. Quality compared to price is excellent.
Review 4:The two other guys at the desk are not speaking english, which is just incredible for a "palace", and they don't hesitate to make u feel guilty for not speaking italian!!!! It's never to late to learn a few words, and I'm french, not english. One advice for one of them, when my passport is asked, I like to hear the word "please", I'm not showing it to a custom officer, I am a client. When the hotel is full, there is not enough food for everybody for breakfast!!!
Review 5:The view, especially for the price is totally amazing. The clim is working well. The restaurant is very good and quiet cheap. They can make a lot of sorts of pastas that are not on the menu, for 8 euros. The lady speaking english at the desk is just at the right level for a "palace", available, sweet, warm and funny, but smart. The head waiter at the restaurant is very professional even if not speaking english and the restaurant's staff is good in general.
Review 6:The bath is in need of renovation. The funishings are old and worn. Rooms are in a poor state in proportion to the price.
Review 7:Rooms are large and bright. The terrace with seaview and garden are very nice. Private beach in front of the hotel suitable for children.
Review 8:arrived after a long drive only to be given a hard time by the front desk due to confusion over our booking.... a few of the staff were arrogant towards us and out this down to our only being able to speak English. The big French guy in the kitchen area was foul towards me and closed the door so that I was unable to seek assistance from the other waiting staff that were delightful.
Review 9:location on the beach was fabulous and the local people were great Waiting staff (except the big French dude) were very polite and helpful The lifeguards on the beach, two delightful young lads were polite, engaging and made us feel welcome
Review 10:Not much to do in the town. Rooms were hot (air conditioning not the greatest). I could hear into next room easily.
Review 11:You can tell it was a premier hotel in the past! Decor amazing and charming. Dinner overlooking ocean was breath taking! Friendly-multi-lingual staff.
Review 12:We love everything about the area and hotel as we used to live in Formia. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful. Scenic area convenient to Rome Airport. Seafood is excellent. Would recommend Taninos in Gaeta which is a 20min drive. Have been going there for about 40yrs. when the father was there and now his son.
Review 13:Beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the ocean. The staff were kind and welcoming. The linens were crisp and clean and beautifully embroidered.breakfast was really well laid out and the restaurant served delicious, wellroced meAls. Can't fault the hotel!
Review 14:We would have liked to have had a kettle for making hot drinks in the room.
Review 15:The room was big, very clean and had a large sea facing balcony. The views from the balcony were fantastic and we saw lovely sunsets. Our room was cleaned daily to a high standard and we were made to feel welcome.
Review 16:After September, 15 the elevator to the beach is no longer available and there are no umbrellas and sun beds. Far from the station.
Review 17:Friendly staff, elegant interiors, delicious breakfast, convenient access to the beach by the elevator, a beautiful park, silence and nice view from the rooms to the sea and mountains.
Review 18:very limited room service and no facility for making tea and coffee in rooms -
Review 19:Beautiful endless golden beach and spacious rooms with fabulous balcony
Review 20:Staff was very friendly and helpful. The value was good and breakfast was very good. Room was spacious.
Review 21:The hotel needs modernizing. Staff never smile. Not accommodating. No facilities for the beach
Review 22:I liked the resultant and breakfast area
Review 23:That the hotel was right on the beach
Review 24:The breakfast was terrible. There is nothing, even bread. It was the worst i have ever seen in my travels.
Review 25:Beds could be better
Review 26:View is wonderful
Review 27:The beach is not so nice
Review 28:Hotel clean
Review 29:Mosquitos.
Review 30:Location is amazing.
Review 31:Staff was not very friendly.
Review 32:Clean and spacious room and view from the terasse where breakfast was served.
Review 33:Hard to find, address is 96 not 80, sign has different name, not close to center of town but we like walking.
Review 34:Meals were ok and the view was stunning.
Review 35:Everything rooms are big very clean staff are friendly
Review 36:breakfast
Review 37:great garden & spacious rooms available parking access to beach
Review 38:The check out by 10:00 with a possubility to extend it to 10:30 only. The beach view is ruined by a mall.
Review 39:It is a lovely old hotel with direct access to a beach. The breakfast was good for a 3-star Italian hotel.
Review 40:The hotel rooms are very oldish and the batrooms date from the 50s or 60s - not well maintained, however the view is very nice, the resaurant is good and the private beach is not bad.
Review 41:Old shower head that sprayed in all directions. No wifi in room.
Review 42:Location on beach. Privacy and security. Decor and old furniture. Good wifi in lobby.
Review 43:We booked as a one night stop over on our way through Italy. Took one look out of our room window and booked an extra night ( all we had left time wise). Booked the cheapest room but because we were out of season they put us in what would be the best room. Huge balcony looking out to the bay. Hotel beach and shelted swimming area. Would be hard to better if you like that sort of thing. Staff were great and very helpfull.
Review 44:Coming for late breakfast meant that there was not much left to eat. But staff brought a good coffee. And sitting on terrace at the see compensate all the small inconveniences.
Review 45:Clean. Friendly staff. There was a wedding party but it was over until 23h and was not noisy at all. No complaints. Staff even offered to make sure that we could have a dinner. And maybe a piece of wedding cake?
Review 46:Hotel is very basic, but it was simple enough for what we needed. Staff are absolutely lovely and very helpful. The beach is lovely. Breakfast was very nice. We'd be happy to stay there again.
Review 47:Well let us say they do not cater for english speaking people. There is NO english TV and you have to sit in the foyer to use the Internet in front of everyone. And the Staff don't speak english except one, if you can get her,she doesn't work every day.
Review 48:Leaving the hotel we were there for 5 days. But we did like the sun chairs on the beach but you had to pay for them.
Review 49:Breakfast is not served cheese and ham. I would like to present these dishes, but the hotel had warned in advance about it.
Review 50:The hotel is located right on the private beach. Beautiful view from the terrace on the sea, where the breakfast. Good restaurant. Rooms are cleaned daily. Convenient parking.
Review 51:Attitude of the staff. The manageress did not speak to us for the whole9 nights we were there. The breakfast buffet was very poor. Onewaitress served us hot coloured water for coffee. And one waiter didnot even say "good morning"when we entered in fact he lookedat us as if we should not even be there. They chambermaids often didnot replace the used shampoo. The tiled floors in the bathroom getdangerous slippery after showering because there are no shower curtainsto keep the water from splashing out. We were tiold that we could notenter the beach through the dining room (which is the only directaccess to the beach) because there were people having lunch. We werepaying a lot of money staying for 9 nights having 3 rooms for ourparty.Only go to Formia when the season starts otherwise there isnothing to do except drive around and eat.
Review 52:Private beach although it was not open for the summer. The old hotel haslots of lovely furnishings and ornaments but not in the bedrooms. Thebedrooms were clean and the chambermaids were very pleasant as was oneyoung morning waitress who was always smiling and always said "goodmorning"
Review 53:Wi-Fi available in entry common rooms; in-room availability would be nice.
Review 54:We are repeat customers because of friends in the area we visit and have settled on this hotel among others in the area for the overall good experience. We always appreciate the pleasant service and surroundings. Rooms are spacious.
Review 55:The area of Formia seems quite run down and very sad. Such a pity for this lovely beachside property. To be fair our visit was in the middle of winter during the season it may be better.
Review 56:This is a lovely old hotel run by the family who built it. It is a lovely property and beautifully maintained. Our room was huge with everything one could need. The view out to sea and down on to the beach was stunning. Behind the hotel the majestic mountains feature as well. The restaurant downstairs was very impressive as was the food. A most delightful stay.
Review 57:Large room, sea view. I was able to unpack my suit case as there were drawers. We went there because it has a beach.
Review 58:Nothing
Review 59:The elegant room ,elegant dining and the food was superb.
Review 60:Wifi only in the lobby.....
