Review 2：Friendly, attentive staff in a beautiful old hotel in Castiglione di Sicilia. The hotel is right in the historical centre. Breakfast was excellent.

Review 3：Very small streets! so if you have a big car it can be a challenge to reach your destination.

Review 5：As we were visiting off the season, we couldn't use the pool area. For the same reason we were the only guests in the hotel that felt a bit deserted at the beggining ( we got a royal treatment though :) )

Review 6：Beautiful village, hotel nicely placed in the middle of it, spectacular view from the top suite and from the restaurant. Very friendly owner/manager. Beautiful room with a very comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Very tasty breakfast.

Review 7：Housekeeping & cleanliness is poor. Entrance hallway, stairs & corridor carpets need a good vacuum. Dead flies and bits just lying around for days. The terraces aren't swept and some of the terrace furniture should be disposed. The lift smelt of a stale vacuum cleaner. Our bedroom bin wasn't emptied and the bathroom not cleaned one day or the bed made up. We went for breakfast just before 8am one day & there was nobody around, & the curtains closed. We searched the kitchen for some food only to come across heaps of washing up, pots & pans strewn all over the place & stale bread lying around. The part eaten chocolate cake that available on our first morning was still available 5 days later. One evening I went to borrow a knife from the dining room to discover breakfast cups & dishes still on the tables. The pool area by the castle has not been maintained for months with large weeds growing out of the paving. The corridor lighting is non-existent in daytime & only one light per two branch fitting is lit at night so I would not recommend anyone with poor eyesight to stay here. Finally when we checked out the overpowering smell of body odour was enough to put anyone off even entering. This could be a glorious hotel but is living off its former reputation.

Review 8：We stayed here for 4 days as a short break in September. The hotel is actually called Hotel Florio (Domenico). There are several reasons why this 4 star hotel is just £60 per night. I'll start with the good points... Large bedroom, en suite bathroom with bidet, good towels, shampoo & soap sachets, hair dryer. Fridge in room a bonus. Given choice of room upon arrival - Mt Etna view room or one leading onto a large (shared) terrace where you can see Etna anyway. There are several terraces on different levels around the hotel. Breakfast is in an amazing room overlooking Mt Etna. A reasonable breakfast & we were told we could have it at whatever time we liked. There are 2 pools, one at the hotel (empty) & the other a 5 mins walk away with stunning views. Parking right outside hotel as long as you nerves of steel getting there & in a very small car. Great if you are on a budget &/or want peace & quiet with fabulous views.

Review 9：A hire car will make things a lot simpler! Public transport to the area is very bad (I think there is 1 bus per day). Nobody speaks English (including the hotel staff), so knowing some basic Italian is very helpful.

Review 10：Silvi, the hotel Manager, is great - very friendly and helpful! Speaks fairly good English in comparison to everybody else. The hotel itself is beautiful - big rooms, large terraces for sunbathing and eating out on, lovely swimming pool area (make sure you ask where this is as it is detached from main hotel), and amazing views of Etna.
