Reviews for Landhotel Mader

Review 1:+ very friendly staff (reception, restaurants...) + the "Tafelspitz" eat for dinner in the restaurant + the modern styled bar in the ground floor

Review 2:The only minor issue, that more times the ground-floor elevator is not available (because it is on the same openings with the restaurants) and has to climb up the stairs and find the elevator again in the labyrinth - with baby and baby-car let say is not the best. The existing electronic-key acces extension to this door would be the solution and the help for the hotel-guests.

Review 3:The only minor negative thing is that it was a bit cold in the room as it had high ceilings and the room was quite large so it took a long time for the room to warm up.

Review 4:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and the rooms had excellent facilities. Excellent breakfast as well.

Review 5:Breakfast not as nice as in previous hotel, 8 € daily for secure car park. Room recently renovated and quite large but no view at all, looking at other hotel rooms opposite.

Review 6:Location directly in city centre, very friendly & helpful staff, free wifi.

Review 7:- room somewhat difficult the reach with heavy bags. It is an old building!

Review 8:- the friendly staff. The allowed me to park my motorbike in the yard, for example. The receptionist did everything possible to find my "lost" glasses when I call the after I had left (the glasses were in my bags!) - the good restaurant - the "Wintergarden" where food is served

Review 9:For the very Nice room on topfloor, you have to walk the stairs the lastfloor up. No problem, it's an old building.

Review 10:Great room on topfloor, very big, nicely and newly renovated. Withairco, needed on a very hot day! Whole building is old and with manycorners and turns. Nice! Breakfast with many choices

Review 11:Be warned if staying on a Friday or Saturday night they have live entertainment on the street below. If you have a room overlooking the main street it may be hard to sleep. Lift only goes to 2nd floor, need to take luggage up stairs for 3rd floor.

Review 12:Spacious room, plenty of hanging space, clean and spacious bathroom. Ample breakfast, plenty to choose from.

Review 13:We were given terrible directions to the car park by the lady at the front desk of the hotel, who also had an attitude. She said to go "under the bridge". There is parking under the bridge but not for this hotel!! Awkward reversing. Ensure you enter via the boom gate, which is under the bridge and go up the ramp. You will find the hotel's allocated car spaces up in the parking station. We were assisted by a local resident thankfully. Our room was at the very back and took a bit to find. Parts were a little scary. Sadly I would not stay here again.

Review 14:Breakfast was superb.

Review 15:Not convenient to bring a big luggage, I have to carry it and go up stairs, cause the elevator can get the higher floor.

Review 16:Good location, in the center of Steyr. The rooms is very nice. Very good breakfast, many choices.

Review 17:The hotel is named Mader, not Landhotel Mader. Spent some times to locate it correctly. Parking lot is a bit further away to the hotel.

Review 18:Comfortable room and delicious breakfast.

Review 19:Need more pillows on the bed. Half board menu needs choice & went to wrong restaurant in the hotel as we were not directed to correct area & ended up paying for another meal on first night.

Review 20:Staff friendliness & location was really stunning. Hotel was very clean. Shopping in Steyr was good & really enjoyed walking around the town.

Review 21:Hotel closed after Sunday Brunch until Monday evening. We were unable to get a drink or food on the Sunday evening. Would not advise anyone to stay overnight on a Sunday.

Review 22:location nice rooms excellent breakfast

Review 23:Nothing about the hotel, but food in the restaurant was not so good.

Review 24:Large and historic city hotel, right on the market square. Very friendly and professional staff. Some parts of the hotel are a somewhat outdated, but the whole has a lot of character. For those who love the authentic Austrian atmosphere, this is a place to be.

Review 25:Lots of stairs to climb. Staff directions to the parking garage were confusing. They said "head to the river," which makes no sense to someone who'd never been there before.

Review 26:It's a nice old building, and it couldn't be better located. The staff speaks some English, enough for basic communication. Breakfast was excellent.

Review 27:elevator was bad, restaurant close saturday and sunday, without conditioner

Review 28:personal very amabile, good location, good price

Review 29:Bfst (bread and danish) wasn't filled when it got emptied.

Review 30:Location excellent!

Review 31:Lack Of air condition In the room

Review 32:The staff was most gracious. She saved me a lot of time by getting my train tickets changed.

Review 33:Hotel is on the main square. Steyr is a lovely city that does not have the tourists it deserves. Hotel has 3 good places to dine.

Review 34:listed on booking.com as rooms with air conditioning, but the hotel doesn't have air conditioning

Review 35:location

Review 36:Excellent hotel, so arrive Steyer second time, I chose this hotel again. Helpful staff, good location, great and comfortable room. Very good restaurant, thank the chef and sommelier. I recommend to choose this hotel.

Review 37:Nothing

Review 38:Variety of choices at brekfast, including sparkling vine; central location; very good restaurant; despite the fact that the building is from medieval ages all facilities are modern and faltless.

Review 39:I am very pleased with the hotel, staff and services. Excellent hotel, good location. The hotel restaurant serves delicious food and good wine selection. Perfect breakfast with a variety of dishes. For breakfast, guests can prepare themselves fruits with hot chocolate.

Review 40:Very interesting lay out, nice old restored building with great facilities with a really good location right in the middle of everything (all in walking distance).

Review 41:The staff could be a bit friendlier. I dont speak German so I say this with a grain of salt because they tried very hard to speak English for me. However, I did not get the warmest of feelings from the staff. They were not terrible but for the quality of this hotel I would expect a smile or two. They were helpful for the most part just not very inviting.

Review 42:The hotel rooms are fantastic and the building is right in the main town square. It is historic and the location is perfect.

Review 43:The location was perfect on the town square! Our room was perfect! It was on the 2nd floor and overlooked the square! Very spacious. The staff was super friendly and helped get us easily to the train station. The breakfast was delicious with something for everyone.

Review 44:It was one of the best Hotels I ever stayed in. It was built in the 15th century and was preserved accordingly. the Breakfast was excellent and the reception Staff were very helpful, as were the serving Staff. I cannot fault this Hotel .

Review 45:Location great, staff very helpful and friendly, room comfortable and restaurant very good.

Review 46:We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely hotel
