Reviews for Avney HaHoshen
Review 1:Hard to find (better signage would help). Breakfast OK but not as good as other places we've stayed. Minimal servicing of room. Staff located at another B&B and accessible limited hours. High price for the facilities.
Review 2:Good location, off a quiet alley/street, near enough to Artists Quarter, Synagogue Quarter, Jerusalem street businesses.
Review 3:As many other reviewers have pointed out, there is no real staff and no service of any sort. You need to seek them out to check in and then you never see them again.
Review 4:Beautiful room, lovely courtyard, quiet area
Review 5:Very difficult to find, in a back alley with almost no signage. Room was dark and dank. Treacherous walking on slippery stones. Poor maintenance - doorknob fell off! Previous guests' garbage still in room. Mediocre breakfast.
Review 6:Nothing. I did not like this hotel and would not stay there again.
Review 7:Nobody at the hotel to greet us, we had to knock on another guests room and they gave us a contact number for the hotel. No WiFi code was given and this was highly inconvenient as we needed to plan our journey for the next day online. We were not told of what time or where breakfast was in the morning, when I called the contact number they did not understand english. Breakfast was served in a different location to the hotel and after much inconvenient delay someone was sent to fetch and show us where it was. We were very dissapointed by the hotel service.
Review 8:Beautiful room, luxury feel, quaint courtyard and nice hot tub.
Review 9:A bit hard to find, but as I said, Ety was so helpful and friendly, it didn't matter.
Review 10:Beautifully renovated old stone building in old section of Tzfat. Lovely hostess, Ety, who welcomed us on the main street and escorted us to the B&B, which is nested a bit back. We reserved two rooms, and since things were quiet, she gave us a third without charge, so our kids could have their own (separate from parents or grandparents). Our 8 & 11 year olds were ecstatic, and we had the whole of the beautiful interior courtyard to ourselves. Great location close to Artist's Quarter. Great breakfast at nearby hotel, combining quiet and privacy with excellent food.
Review 11:No management person present to greet us upon arrival to explain hotel procedures. Only one towel provided for 2 people. One towel that was in the room was threadbare and ripped. Insufficient soap, broken shower head, broken toilet seat, many mosquitos in room. Also, we were charged an additional 18% VAT that was illegal to charge foreigners. Resolving this problem required repeated calls to the owner's representative and to our credit card company to deal with the over-billing. The situation has still not been resolved.
Review 12:The location, decor and hot tub were excellent.
Review 13:The room was spatious and all right but we had the one on the ground with no light. The bathroom is fair but the floor was getting wet quickly with an old carpet only. It seems that the rooms are quite different in terms of confort for the same price.
Review 14:The breakfast is nice, the little patio is cute, the jacuzzi relaxing but with too much chlorine!
Review 15:It was hard to find the place! We couldn't locate the place on Waze or Google Maps, nor did anyone we ask know where it was. Not sure what can be done about that. You should make sure people know that before heading out to find the hotel. Also, the mattress is not as firm as we would like.
Review 16:Amit, the manager, was very friendly and helpful. The room is beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the courtyard--quite lovely!
Review 17:We, and everyone else we met at breakfast, had a hard time finding it due to the small alleys and lack of street signs. The website should have a map of the Artist Colony showing exactly where it is located with respect to other landmarks.
Review 18:Quaint room with the feel of being in the old city of Safed. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful.
Review 19:Was a bit difficult to find, but the staff helped us find the location and after that it was easy.
Review 20:The breakfast was fantastic. Make sure to ask for an omelette! We loved the outdoor jacuzzi, which runs all the time. Beautiful rustic apartment, very romantic. Staff was very helpful and friendly. We would for sure go there again.
Review 21:Still looking for the elusive Wi-Fi signal. Shower drain was clogged which caused a minor flood.
Review 22:Location was good. AC worked.
Review 23:Lots of mosquetoes in the room.
Review 24:The look & feel of the place, the breakfast
Review 25:After showering, the bathroom had a moldy smell in it and the water pooled toward the toilet and there was no mop/squeegy to mop up the water.
Review 26:You can't find the hotel. They must tell you to go to Ruth Rimmonim
Review 27:Loved the romantic stone rooms and courtyard.
Review 28:The address is very confusing. It is close to impossible to find this hotel. We had to ask a few people to help us.
Review 29:Very rooms and food
Review 30:not very clean, breakfast was a bit disappointing (no fresh juices, coffee, ...)
Review 31:Old stones, peaceful environment.
Review 32:Our bathroom wasn't cleaned very well. The hotel is very difficult to find. After 30 minutes of searching and asking we asked a galerist at the other end of the street who could give us directions. The hotel is located at the far end of the street, before the mausoleum you have to climb some steps to the left, then turn right, it's the house at the left corner.
Review 33:The hotel has a very quiet location in a wonderful house near all the sights. The rooms are very special due to the architecture of the old house. We had good breakfast on the lovely terrace. There is a jacuzzi on the terrace for relexation after a long day.
Review 34:Quality and service of the apartment do not correspond to descriptions given No microwave in the apartment No bath robes in the apartment No separate terrace Location is not in the artist area of Tzfat No room service Not clean, mould in bath and sleeping room Money was charged in advance instead of on date of arrival Price-Performance-Ratio is really bad Cleaning staff doing its job in the middle of the night
Review 35:Breakfast
Review 36:Taxi driver did not know where the hotel was. There was no sign outside the hotel. It was very difficult to find. The phone number on the reservation was not answering .
Review 37:so difficult to find! No sign, no road names... we walked around the hotel for an hour before finding it and since it was after 7pm, the door was closed...fortunately we were with a friend who had a israeli phone and who was able to phone and speak Hebrew, someone finally came after 15 mns and opened the door... print a very precise plan since even the neighbours did not know how to get there, or ask for very precise explanations. Once you're there, it's perfect, though.
Review 38:I really enjoyed the hotel, the breakfast in the lovely courtyard was just perfect, the bedroom was charming, very close to the city center.
Review 39:-NO WIFI even though written on the website, then promised to set it up the next day, we had no wifi to plan our trip. - Impossible to find the place because all is written in hebrew - Impossible to contact the hotel for help while looking for it - Nobody at the hotel to great us or even open the door during shabbat. They had no idea we had booked. - Very bad staff, no apologies for letting us wait 3 hours with no news and the surprise of having no internet access.
Review 40:- The place is beautiful and charm - Great jacuzzi - Nice terrace for breakfast -Calm and safe neighborhood
Review 41:Lovely accommodation
Review 42:Very difficult to find
Review 43:Beautiful old building in a gorgeous setting
