Reviews for Infotel

Review 1:It was very easy to reach in the centre of the near the market. Personel was quiet and discreet at all times and very helpfull when we made a request.Surely we would stay again if we visit mons

Review 2:Little noisy from doors and adjoining room. Parking at a premium but then it is centre of town not much seating in reception only two milks for coffee in room and not able to get more could do with enough for two coffees

Review 3:Very well placed for main square Great breakfast value for money

Review 4:a little bit cold but so it was the weather

Review 5:located in the heart of the town; the room was very large and with a tiny terrace for guilty pleasures such as smoking:)

Review 6:Central but quiet. Beautiful town. The most useful extra was the free car park - a must when the town has narrow streets and lots of one ways ! Wifi good, BBC World, a kettle ---

Review 7:Internet connection was not that fast and reliable. Price might be considered a little bit high.

Review 8:Hotel is situated at the center of the city. Very easy to access all places of interest. Personel was very kind and the room clean.

Review 9:Only gripe would be the shower. It's over the bath but set along the long width of the bath and not at one end. This makes it very narrow and restricted, especially with the shower curtain. When they come to upgrade the bathrooms I would recommend replacing the bath with a walk in shower.

Review 10:Very friendly staff, spoke excellent English. Location is excellent and benefits from easy access, free parking. We were upgraded to an executive suit (which was huge!) and didn't even ask!

Review 11:Nothing to dislike.

Review 12:Proximity to centre of Mons / secure parking / good facilities at a reasonable price. I have never tried the breakfast so cannot comment on that.

Review 13:Wi-fi is not efficient. Shower strength = like Karcher, you can't manage it. Very expensive breakfast 13 EUR you must book it the evening before, you can't have it the same day cause "they have to order the foods" (is it complicated to open a fruit salad can ?), breakfast is very poor no fresh food, only processing food.

Review 14:Location in the city is very good that the main / only point.

Review 15:Mons actually wasn't very interesting and there was loud music playing in the square and everywhere. The room was actually quite basic and my memory had obviously remembered the hotel little more favourably than in reality

Review 16:We had stayed here 6 years previously and remembered the hotel was right by the main square and there was parking, which was important.

Review 17:The room was more like a budget hotel room and not what we expected at the price.

Review 18:This was a comfortable, if basic, hotel right in the centre of Mons. There was no problem parking.

Review 19:The bed was really small for two persons. Picture of the bathroom does not correspond to the bathroom we had.

Review 20:The hotel is centrally located which is the best advantage of it.

Review 21:Air con blowing out hot air due to exhaust hose disconnected. No maintenance man available , no manager ( on vacation). Both rooms I booked were exactly the same swelteringly hot. Not made aware when booking rooms would be on third floor with no porters to help with luggage.

Review 22:Nothing

Review 23:It was utterly hot and the rooms are not prepared for these conditions - no A/C, only standard fan. When I checked in at 3pm my room was still not cleaned. The dining room is way too hot inside and I had to take my breakfast outside where I sat under a tree and enjoyed it with a breeze.

Review 24:Location, Free parking, Lift to help with all the luggage, Eddie's (at the front desk) advice on local hotspot.

Review 25:Unfortunately some rooms suffer from noise from nightclubs, base beat transmitted into room and we had to move rooms at 1.30 am. The second room was OK

Review 26:Location is excellent, parking is a real benifit.

Review 27:It was very hot when I stayed - the room fan / cooler struggled to cope.

Review 28:Really close to the main square in Mons, and it had parking. The breakfast had a good variety of things to choose from - the scrambled eggs were excellent.

Review 29:It's only minor, but I could not get British TV, the Hotel Email said it was possible but I couldn't see how

Review 30:The location, the room , and the friendly staff

Review 31:None.

Review 32:Off street free parking. Breakfast was ok but a bit expensive at e13 each in a rather canteen style room but assume it's aimed at quickness rather than leisure but it's ok. Close to all town amenities.

Review 33:A secure, quiet, comfortable hotel with most obliging staff. An upgrade on our booking without any request was offered and accepted upon our arrival. The on-site parking was a bonus.

Review 34:Paid extra 20 Euro for executive room that has a pull out couch for my child. They charged a 15 Euro extra bed fee to "turn down the bed". That is a rip off.

Review 35:Free parking, great bed, clean.

Review 36:Small room, rather simple furniture; sheets have never been changed during 5 days.

Review 37:Very quiet (inner court yard); shops and restaurants are in walking distance.

Review 38:Ideal location close to centre, rooms were clean, staff were professional although not over friendly. Parking is off high street behind hotel with barrier. Good choice of breakfast but a bit expensive. Rooms right price for area.

Review 39:The bedroom might be considered on the small side, but was perfectly fine really, one didn't spend a lot of time in the room anway.

Review 40:It was condemned by the media in the UK, USA and Australia. Ullapool Museum said the match was seen as a threat to western society.!

Review 41:We upgraded to an "Executive Room". This room was barely a standard room. Ceiling were sloped and the shower in the bathroom was awful.

Review 42:Grand Place Mons was steps away. Excellent location to relax in the evenings and enjoy the scenic Grand Place Mons.

Review 43:I would like to see more power outlets. The shower tap could do with a thermostatic valve.

Review 44:How long is your page? For a start the hotel is located in the centre of Mons with a small supermarket situated 50m from the hotel. The room size is more than adequate, has a generous size wardrobe, free coffee/tea, tel, nice bathroom (shower only), Cable TV, friendly multi-lingual front-desk staff) and last but not least free parking (for approx 15 cars). Should there be no space left, a public car park is located opposite the hotel. Access to the hotel is One Way only so no problem with directions. 10 min walking from NMBS/SNCB (Belgian train station). Can't Judge breakfast as I skipped it but friends told me it is good (at an extra cost though).

Review 45:This is the second time staying at this hotel. The location is perfect to walk around. 1 min walk to the Grand piazza. I was here with my husband while he worked. So it was easy for me and I felt safe. The breakfast was fresh daily. Eggs, meats, cheeses, fruits, cereals, yogurts etc. The staff was also knowledgeable in helping me plan things to do around town. Love this place.

Review 46:Bad smell coming from the bathroom toilet ; Internet is super slow, parking is always full and was sometimes hard do find a spot.

Review 47:Room was clean and well situated 100 meters from the grand place

Review 48:My room was directly accessible from the street.. While the decor was new, it was all done in 1970s materials and not pleasing. The bed was lumpy, and the wi-fi very weak and slow as far as emails with attachments go. Many of the bulbs in the room had failes ( 3 of the bedside lights did not work ! )

Review 49:Location, location ! 50 yards to central square and many restaurants.

Review 50:Even though it was a smallest issue, they couldn't have the leaked sink fixed within 24 hours. Then, as the hotel was full, we were to moved to another one which hasn't got regular room while having only apart that I didn't like. Furthermore, WI-FI was so terrible that my devices lost the signal frequently.

Review 51:Location and breakfast.

Review 52:The Internet connection was very poor, at times less than a kilobyte per second, not enough for even email. Room was smal and bathroom vent had an odor.

Review 53:The sheets were clean and the mattress was firm. Great location.

Review 54:I wish the rooms were provided with a mini bar, to keep your food and drinks cool.

Review 55:I love the fact that this hotel is located in the center of Mons. It is nice to be able to make tea or coffee in the room. You can park there safely.

Review 56:This hotel is fine, but nothing fancy. Wish the beds were queen and not double. The hallways smelled of smoke but luckily not the rooms. No elevator to the rooms in one building.

Review 57:Excellent location, clean and acceptable room.

Review 58:Room was really poor. Booked a superior room which had one of the worst bathrooms I've ever seen. There was an industrial sized boiler in the corner of the bathroom and a oil radiator on wheels for heat. The photos look like it is a historic building but inside, it is like a poor Ibis.

Review 59:Staff were nice.

Review 60:Wonderful location. 100m from Mons Grand Place. 10 min walking from the Train Station. A lot of restaurants - bars very very close. Wonderful breakfast. Spacious and clean rooms. Provides even free parking if you have a car. Everything's perfect!

Review 61:I think that the price is a little big for a 3-star hotel, where you can see some signs of inveteracy in the interior of the rooms.

Review 62:The room was being cleaned every day and the beds were very comfortable. The location of the hotel is perfect, just beside the Mons grand place. Also, it is located in a quite place next to a super market. Finally, the breakfast was perfect, giving the opportunity to eat everything you want.

Review 63:Free WiFi had bad coverage (consistently under -50dBm), had poor speed (around 128kbps was the norm -- when it was working) and was insecure (AP did not use client separation and it appeared to struggle when more than 10 devices were associated). Breakfast was absolutely not worth the 13EUR asked, not by far.

Review 64:Very clean room/bathroom, daily cleaned. Very helpful reception staff. Quiet room and comfortable bed. Clearly above a hostel or a student hotel, yet not really up to the standard we've come to expect from an EU hotel.

Review 65:The price has increased from 68 to 78 euro since I visited last year!

Review 66:Located right next to the town centre, and the Christmas market, with on-site parking. The hotel is very clean and has good facilities. The staff are very welcoming.

Review 67:The bathroom was dirty , the bathtub also dirty... and was very cold during the night. Also the bathroom doesnt have heating system. The hotel opened the heating system a few hour and my wife get a cold ike. The hotel inside is dirty, the walls of the halls are full of stains.... I will not use this hotel next time especially when i will come with my children. Iulian Vlad

Review 68:Was very closed to the center of the city. And they have a free parking place.

Review 69:dogs in the adjacent room that barked constantly. Our rooms on the first floor were directly above the reception & we were disturbed by the noise of the lift, the office chair going along the tiled floor of the reception desk. Room doors were very noisy on closing and opening and often disturbed throughout the day and our rest.

Review 70:Very clean, comfortable rooms, well serviced by very polite and helpful staff for two nature ladies with mobility problems. Good location to the centre of Mons. Despite the location to the centre, there was very little outside noise, except from those guests directly outside the front door of the hotel. Good parking facilities that were secure.Breakfast is available at separate charge - 13 Euros

Review 71:A minor thing but the heating in the room was high. However we were able to open the window which is a plus in todays world.

Review 72:This is and ideal hotel for the centre of Mons, just a short walk to the Grand Place. There are plenty of good restaurants and bars close by. The hotel is clean and functional and the staff are all very polite and helpful. Breakfast was very good with a good selection. I will use this hotel for future trips to Mons.

Review 73:If going to SHAPE, and you do not have a car, the taxi will be expensive.

Review 74:The hotel is located in the centre of Mons, which is great for access to restaurants, pubs, museums, train station, etc.

Review 75:No air con so had to keep windows open which allowed insects in which caused us to get bitten...a lot. Only ironing facility was bolted to a wall in the corridor outside someones room. No laundry facilities, dry cleaning takes up to a week to return.

Review 76:Location, Parking, WIFI, English speaking staff.

Review 77:No elevator, but got exercise climbing the steps!

Review 78:Walking distance to the Grand Place in Mons, restaurants, stores, transportation, easy access to secured area, very friendly, and the staff spoke English.

Review 79:room was basic but adquate mosquitoes were an unecpected problem

Review 80:Very easy to find excellent location reasonably priced good wifi connection parking well spaced and situated within the hotel courtyard.

Review 81:Noise from street but you can't change that.

Review 82:Excellent breakfast and every person we dealt with had a great personality and went out of their way to help us.

Review 83:An appalling inadequate breakfast for £12.00 per head. We also had to put up with a pop concert until 2.00am,with corresponding poor sleep.

Review 84:It has an excellent location being very close to the Grand Place where it all happens in respect of Mons. It also provides ample on site parking right in the centre of the city.

Review 85:The room was exceptionally small. Had we stayed longer, it might have started feeling uncomfortable.

Review 86:The hotel has secure parking and is situated less than 100 yds from the main town square. The staff was very helpful, despite speaking limited English (French speaking part of Belgium). We only stayed one night and the hotel fulfilled our needs.

Review 87:Double bed was on the small side.

Review 88:Friendly and helpful staff, fuss free rooms with coffee/tea making facilities and large flat screen TV. Secure and convenient car parking. Easy access to The Grand Place and all bars/restaurants in central Mons. All extra requirements met with ease.

Review 89:It was a bit tricky to find the street in the dark at 2am. The receptionist was unable to direct us even though we were in fact very near. Luckily we spotted the hotel name on a street sign.

Review 90:24 hour check-in. We drove from the late night ferry to break up our journey. Central location. It was great to walk out into the town in the morning to have a look around.

Review 91:Parking was restricted, had to leave my car outside. Breakfast was very basic and poor for the money.

Review 92:Room was excellent with plenty of space and good bed. Clean, fresh and well equiped.

Review 93:Excellent location right in the heart of historic Mons, by the town square. The fact that the hotel had its own car park clinched the deal. Clean room with all a traveller needs for short stays. Very nice breakfast, although this is an extra cost. Staff were helpful and spoke good English. I would recommend this hotel.

Review 94:No A/C. Didn't know how to operate fan, so had to get up and turn it back on. Heat and humidity made us ill, had to leave property early.

Review 95:Hotel looked like pictures. Breakfast was well prepared, food was presented well. Room was very clean and shower was nice.

Review 96:manager was extremely helpful with getting us through roadworks , and directing our car to the hotel. Reception saff very good with recommendations for food and drink.

Review 97:parking place was full when we arrived, so we had to park our car in front of the other entrance (and overheard some unpleasant comments). noise from parking lot in the room. wifi didn't work excellent, not that we needed that but still, handy. personnel was not speaking great english, also no dutch

Review 98:perfect location, really cosy market place just around the corner. you cannot go any further with a car than this hotel, the street is closed. shop carrefour 20 m from the hotel.

Review 99:Couple of very minor faults with the room, the bedside lamp didn't work, cracked mirror door to wardrobes. WiFi connected fine, but could not access internet on all devices. One night stay so did not complain.

Review 100:The receptionist Anne welcomed us, and recommended places to visit, to eat, to see, provided a local travel guide with a map and was fantastically enthusiastic and cheerful, she also spoke English really well. The room was huge (standing room) well furnished and clean. Air con, velux windows and exposed beams, with a fridge. Location very central, lots nearby, good parking (if your early) and excellent signage on route.

Review 101:The price of breakfast. Go to the great little organic cafe on the way to the square instead.

Review 102:Location v close to the central square with secure parking for our motorbikes.

Review 103:Hairdryer didn't work, which was a pain as I had an important work function to go to. The room was basic and little effort had been put in to making it nice. I didn't find the staff particularly friendly or welcoming.

Review 104:Location was terrific and there was parking available. Room was spacious. I liked that it was a small hotel.

Review 105:Check in is advertised from 2 o'clock, I informed the hotel I was arriving at 2, but upon arrival, in the rain, on my motorbike, the guy at the desk said I couldn't check in till 3 so I had to hang around getting wet for an hour, which was a bit annoying.

Review 106:The hotel is bang in the middle of Mons so just a short walk to the main attractions, decent sized, clean room, shops, cafes and bars nearby.

Review 107:A bit dated in terms of its decor, but perfectly acceptable nonetheless.

Review 108:The hotel is very well located and close to an excellent cafe as well as being three minutes walk to the centre. Free off road parking makes this a great stop in Mons.

Review 109:Wifi was patchy at best, definitely needs to be improved.

Review 110:Location is great, right next to the Grand' Place. Very quiet at night however. Did not have breakfast so can't comment on that - the Pain Quotidien on the same street is great for breakfast so opted for that.

Review 111:Lacks any charm, but is a good base to explore Mons

Review 112:Location is great, just a short walk to the Grand Place, car park was secure and free and hotel is clean and functional

Review 113:Breakfast was ok

Review 114:Good location

Review 122:our bed was small and uncomfortable the internet was nearly not working

Review 123:great location good breakfast

Review 124:Completely central, large room and excellent secure parking. Even for our van.

Review 125:Sometimes, there is a queue at the check-in/check-out. It has to be considered whether in hurry.

Review 126:The parking facilities

Review 127:The large room was excellent: new stuffs, 2 of everything (2 seats, 2 armchairs,...), space for luggages.

Review 128:iron on the first floor (no button)

Review 129:Rooms rather small

Review 130:Location superb only city centre hotel

Review 131:The breakfast at €13 pp was poor value.
