Reviews for Villa Kinzica
Review 1:When arriving the person who received us recommended the restaurant for dinner. It was one of the worst Italian meals we ever had. Microwave heated Gnochi for example. When we advised it was cold , they just took it to heat some more...
Review 2:Beautiful hotel and site on the lake
Review 3:I found the hotel and it's staff incredibly welcoming and charming. The location on the lake side was perfect and the staff couldn't have been more helpful. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.
Review 4:Quite a small bathroom but was not great issue
Review 5:Great location with a beautiful room over looking the lake, garage parking, very friendly & helpful staff with great restaurant
Review 6:The setting on Lake Iseo is perfect. The hotel is comfortable, well worth its four stars. A great infinity pool and a high class menu in the restaurant. Staff were friendly and helpful, and spoke good English. Adequate off-street parking.
Review 7:A bit surprised by location, very close to high traffic roads, and railway. Had two very aparte experiences from restaurant. One quiet and very pleasant, one stressed with food not even close to expected standards
Review 8:Pleasant, unstressed atmosphare. Staff was polite , but maybe to businesswise.
Review 9:Not as close to lake as it looks on photos - quite a busy road in between beach and hotel.
Review 10:Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff. Pretty grounds and terrace.
Review 11:Room is a bit small, poor wifi signal in the room.
Review 12:Excellent value for money, pleasant staff and interior. In house restaurant is pleasant, easy parking. Our room (mountain side) was quiet.
Review 13:The staff at the restaurant was very bad and unprofessional. The quality of the food was moderate and the wine we ordered was not available. The alternative wine (white) was far too hot and asking for an colder wine or an ice bucket was almost impossible. Worthless experience.
Review 14:Hotel and location are beautiful
Review 15:Nothing
Review 16:Good location 50 metres from lake and rocky beach. Good underground garage. Nice swimming pool. Very good food. Close to ferry to Monte Isola. Free use of bikes. Quite small and intimate.
Review 17:The room with extra bed what we were offered first was OK, but when we opened the window we realized how noisy it is because of external unit of air conditioner. We asked to change the room and we were offered a very small room which was inadequately small for us, the bathroom was very small. On top of this, there was Wi-Fi in the hotel did not really work, guest had to stay next to the router.
Review 18:The staff in the hotel is very friendly and kind. They did their best during our stay. We enjoyed the food in the restaurant.
Review 19:Staff were very friendly they made our 1 year old daughter feel very welcome and couldn't do enough to help. The food in the restaurant was excellent (Especially the Sea Bass), making our stay with our daughter very enjoyable.
Review 20:Very slow restaurant service. Two hours to be served dinner on uncrowded evening. It took the waiter half an hour to come and tell us that they had run out of the dessert we had chosen. It would have been good to be told straight away.... Stale cake for breakfast on Monday. Strangely, no good bye or thank you from receptionist as I settled our bill. She turned to do something else instead.
Review 21:Beautiful hotel by the lake. Lovely garden.
Review 22:We stayed in one of the backyard rooms where the quite noisy a/c machines are installed. Room was too small for 2 adults and 2 children.
Review 23:Splendid location, friendly staff, nice garden.
Review 24:Thin walls. Green water in the pool, not so fresch. A bit far from the village but no problem if you have a car though...
Review 25:Good AC (37 degrees in july). Excellent food in the restaurant. Nice veranda and garden.
Review 26:Difficulty reaching hotel due to poor access roads and consequently the lack of restaurant on site meant long trip to nearest decent restaurant and late return to hotel.
Review 27:View from terrace was good and room was perfectly acceptable.
Review 28:noise from the street. It was not as bad as in the hotels around Lake Como, but still it is not comfortable to sleep with open windows if you are a light sleeper. dont worry, there is good air conditionning that can be adjusted in the room. Anyways I understood the noise is a problem in all rooms, doesnt matter which side they look at. Also I would recommend the hotel to remove the coffee machine, and serve real coffee in pots or from the bar. The coffee from the bar is very good. But the bad quality of the coffee from the coffee machines seems to be a problem throughout all Italian hotels..strange as Italy is famous for its quality coffee.
Review 29:very nice hotel, not too big and thus makes it even more special. Beautiful surrooundings, and many things to do, such as hikes, cycling and visiting the island, or simply relaxing in the pool and garden of the hotel! Great swimming pool area, and beautiful terrace. really enjoyed stay there, the area is less touristic than around Lake Como or Garda..at least it wasnt as crowsed in June.. we had dined there one evening, the food was good, but a bit expensive. And wines selection was great! would definetely come back again! Thanks to the attentive stuff for everything!
Review 30:The hotel had a lovely view overlooking the lake and the pool was fab (although a little bit chilly). Great location for getting to Monte Isola, Lake Iseo's main attraction. Our room was nice and quiet and breakfast was of a good standard. Overall a nice stay
Review 31:Noise from air conditioning unit at rear of hotel and nearby railway line
Review 32:The location on the lake - very convenient for sightseeing especially Monte Isola Island and Bergamo. Quality of food
Review 33:A large visiting party (29 people) were dining in the restaurant on our first night which made the service, by the 2 waitresses on duty, very slow. This did not occur on other nights.
Review 34:The restaurant food was good, including the breakfast. The staff were friendly and obliging - mostly English speaking. Free car parking on the premises.
Review 35:Nothing.
Review 36:Clean, quiet, comfortable hotel. It is right in front of the lake and the view is superb. Restaurant provides lovely meals with welcome drink. Plentiful breakfast. Very nice experience altogether. Not every staffs had English but everyone was helpful and simply delightful.
Review 37:Breakfast is rather poor for a 4 star hotel. Room with lake view is not enough sound proof. Pillows selection didn't help to improve the sleep. Somehow everything was justified by the price and free amenities. We left the hotel rather happy
Review 38:The atmosphere and staff friendliness is very good. Location and view from the window is superb.
Review 39:We've just returned from 4 days in this wonderful little hotel. The entire hotel is kept wonderfully clean and smart and the rooms are comfortable and clean with wonderful views of the lake and mountains. The staff we're friendly and caring - our evening waitress even took time to translate the menu into English after we struggled reading it the first night. Thank you for a lovely stay, we'll be back in the summer.
Review 40:food wasnt brilliant and was expensive
Review 41:hotel had spectacular views rooms were clean beds were comfy shower ect was good clean towels and bath robes ect free underground parking lovely decor lovely staff
Review 42:The view to the lake was great, but the backside view was dominated by a parking lot and the railroad. Cold water in the pool. Thin walls between rooms.
Review 43:The staff was really nice and accommodating. A romantic overall flavor, including the pool area and courtyard. The best dining restaurant in town. Good breakfast. The private lakeside area was the icing of the cake.
Review 44:Breakfast not good in respect of savoury and hot items
Review 45:Location is excellent and would be perfect if the road was not in front,or even just traffic free. Seperation of pool and grounds is also a plus point
Review 46:It would be good if you could provide bike helmets to go with the bikes, much of the cycling was on the main road and I would have felt safer with a helmet on. The lake side area was a little neglected, we had hoped to spend some time there, but there was glass on the beach side and it could do with a little bit more upkeep. But it didn't have a negative impact on our holiday, we still had a wonderful stay
Review 47:Had a lovely couple of nights. Really enjoyed borrowing bikes and exploring the area. The pool was lush! The room was very comfortable and cool in the heat. The meals we ate at the hotel were delicious. The tuna was amazing and we would recommend the baked peach desert!
Review 48:Not enough restaurants in the immediate vicinity, food in hotel good but pricey for portion size, could have with information in rooms regarding facilities and timings at hotel
Review 49:Excellent hotel with friendly staff, although restaurant was expensive drinks were reasonably priced
Review 50:The shower rooms were a little dated, but were clean and fully operational. People smoked around the pool and as we had children I was unhappy with this. Would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Review 51:We loved having breakfast on the terrace with great views of the mountains and lake. We really enjoyed cooling off in the pool with views of the mountains and lake. The bedrooms were very comfortable and clean, the staff were attentive and even provided a takeaway breakfast as we had an early flight. We would happily go again and reccommend it!
Review 52:Spoilt a little by location between road and railway. Excellent location for island trips.
Review 53:A beautiful villa with excellent facilities. Food and service great.
Review 54:The shower screen folding doors.
Review 55:We loved our stay at Villa Kinzica. Although the room was small it was perfectly comfortable, immaculately clean and had full length doors overlooking the pool. The home made cakes and pastries each morning at breakfast were delicious. The view from the veranda where we had our evening drinks was beautiful. This is by far the best accommodation in the area and I would definitely stay here again.
Review 56:Bathroom could do with an upgrade. The shower was very small with folding doors on 2 sides which made it a bit awkward to use.
Review 57:Spacious room- we had a small balcony- comfortable bed and efficient aircon. Delicious food at breakfast and dinner and a beautiful setting overlooking the lake.
Review 58:The hotel was beautiful, a combination of old and new, as if it had just been redone, but in keeping with the old luxurious feeling. we had a room with a lake veiw and terrrace which was lovely. very calm. the staff was helpful with special needs. must return
Review 59:We have enjoyed every minute of our stay at the hotel. The staff was very attentive, room was spacious and clean and the food was fantastic!!
Review 60:Bad Wifi signal
Review 61:Kind personell
Review 62:Shower door on the wrong way round, shower difficult to turn on.
Review 63:Friendly and helpful people
Review 64:understaffed at dinner, waitress was brilliant though
Review 65:very comfortable, great staff, lovely pool area
Review 66:The friendly staff, the garden, the swimmingpool and excellent service
Review 67:Attentive staff and ideal location for a quiet few days away from the busy hustle and bustle of life. Throughly recommended.
Review 68:No other restaurants within east walking distance, a little quite.
Review 69:Lovely pool and private lakeside beach. wonderful restaurant with extensive menu.
Review 70:The rooms need some update (e.g. old and worn out carpets
Review 71:Nice location and staff. Nice pool.
Review 72:You need a car
Review 73:The staff are great
Review 74:The way the entire team treats the visitors
Review 75:nothing
Review 76:nice view of the lake from the garden, very cozy and relaxing. Lovely cookies and cakes offered at breakfast
Review 77:We were there with a group in March. The hotel is quite esthetic. The location, the view and neatness of the rooms and the garden is excellent.
Review 78:Location
Review 79:high cost
Review 80:Nothing! Maybe a little more variety at breakfast.
Review 81:Bike hire readily available. Plenty of parking Friendly staff, nothing too much trouble.
Review 82:All bicycles needed repair
Review 83:Handy for the ferry to the Island Well appointed rooms Good restaurant Friendly staff
Review 84:Nice hotel in good location comfortable room with lake view and a nice evening meal on terrace overlooking lake iseo
Review 85:Location Comfort Breakfast
Review 86:location quality of hotel quality of staff service friendliness of staff
Review 87:Nothing comes to mind!
Review 88:Very friendly, helpful staff. Restaurant was excellent. Pool was refreshing. Rooms were clean and comfortable.
Review 89:The location is amazing. We loved Lake Iseo and are glad we stayed at Sale Marasino. Villa Kinzica is a very good hotel. The staff were friendly and very helpful. We would definitely stay there again if we were in the area.
Review 90:Food not so good. Starters should be smaller and less expensive. More salads and veg would be welcome.
Review 91:Very relaxing atmosphere, friendly, helpful and intelligent staff.
Review 92:A musty/old smell in the room and corridor. There was a 'reeddiffuser' inside and outside the room, but it did not make a lot ofdifference. Being advised by reception there were no nearby laundryfacilities and it would be cheaper to have items laundered in-houserather than driving to Bresica. That ended up being a costly exercise. There is a train line very close to the Hotel but thankfully, it is nota busy line.
Review 93:The decor and guest facilities, E.G. the breakfast room, several loungeareas and the front verandah area. Tea/coffee making facilities. Anice selection of food for breakfast.
Review 94:very friendly and helpful staff; cleanliness of hotel and grounds; extensive range of food at breakfast and excellently prepared and presented dishes in the restaurant, wholly deserving of its mention in the Michelin guide; freely available tea, coffee and newspapers (several different languages) throughout the day was a nice touch
Review 95:A bit noisy as it was near a train line but only during the day when we generally were out
Review 96:Very friendly, beautiful surroundings, you can book lots of trips from the hotel, free bikes, very good restaurant. One of if not the best all round stay at a hotel I have experienced.
Review 97:It's a fantastically located place. It caters for people with Coeliac disease. Fresh bread the views from the pool are amazing and their are bikes available for residents. The owner is very helpful
Review 98:the fact that we could stay only 3 nights!
Review 99:We returned after 12 years and it was as good as then. Facilities/service/amenities/food ALL outstanding.
Review 100:No free wifi. In general, all extra amenities were costly though someitems should have been included in the price, the rate taken intoaccount, E.G. the fruit in the living room and the internet. Therestaurant was overpriced. The dishes were ok but nothing special. Icannot recommend the veal. The staff was friendly, but only some of themspoke other languages than Italian.
Review 101:The ambiance of the old villa situated next to the lake. The pool areawas nice. Breakfast was fine, though there could have been more refills.Friendly staff. Free bike hire.
Review 102:Great hotel, clean rooms, wonderful restaurant. Perfect location (with car you can drive arround the lake, not too far from Milano airport). Nice peaceful pool.
Review 103:The dinner menu wasn't very exciting.
Review 104:Nice family run hotel with a lovely swimming pool. If you stay here, borrow a bike and take it on the ferry across to Mount Isola; lovely ride around the island.
Review 105:garden a bit run down.
Review 106:location, if you prefer to stay in a great hotel in a place not overcrowded with tourist. We like swimming and it´s perfect with pool and just 100 meter to the sea. Food is superb!
Review 107:A friendly, comfortable hotel set just across the road from the shore of Lago D'Iseo. We particularly appreciated all of the thoughtful little extras, all supplied for no extra cost. There are pool towels provided in your room in a basket for all your other poolside stuff. A good selection of bicycles are available and these are well maintained by the hotel staff. English, German and Italian newspapers are available and tea and coffee with cakes and biscuits are always there to be enjoyed on the hotel terrace. When we arrived we realised there was a halfboard option for dinner at the restaurant at the hotel. We took up the hotel staff suggestion to eat there for six of the eleven nights we were staying. This was perfect as it allowed us to try everything we fancied on the restaurant's excellent menu while leaving other nights free to eat out in Sale Marasino. The town itself is fairly quiet but has a good train service into Brescia or further north towards Edolo, and of course a boat service across to Monte Isola and to other points around the lake. You can take your bikes across to the island by boat and a ride around the island is not too strenuous. If you're more adventurous a ride around the lake is about forty miles but you've always got the option of hopping on a boat if you've had enough. The road around the lake seemed safe for bikes although there are some tunnels. The area also has a good choice of hiking routes. Sale Marasino doesn't seem to have a great selection of restaurants but we did particularly like the Motta at the other end of town to the hotel. Our room was very comfortable with a lake view, but I think only one of the rooms with a lake view also had a balcony. There are more balconies at the back of the hotel. These rooms overlook the pool, which is surrounded by plenty of sunloungers and umbrellas. Breakfast provided cereals, yoghurts, eggs, cheese, ham, fresh fruit and cake.
Review 108:poor breakfast ,tired fixtures and fittings , hard to find .needs investment to maintain 4 star rating.could be super.
Review 109:good hard bed, agreeable surroundings and gardens, lovely old pool well maintained.very quite location over the road from lago d'Iseo.
Review 110:The pool was closed for the annual revision just the weekend we were there, but I guess this is just bad luck.
Review 111:Great restaurant in the same building so that we could use the babyphone and have a romantic dinner. Tea, coffee and snacks set out for free in the afternoon. Very good breakfast and not just for italian standards, with fresh fruit, fresh parmaham, and great bakery goods. Terrasse put front is great for drinks. Free parking garage.
Review 112:Restricted timings, viz no staff on duty before 7.00 am. Restaurant good but pricey. Train line runs close by and is quite noisy.
Review 113:Setting, proximity to lake, building, garden and restaurant.
Review 114:We were made very welcome. The hotel is quiet and luxurious. A fire was lit for us in the salon. Tea is available at all times. In the evening we had a delicious gourmet meal and the chef came and talked to us about the ingredients and checked that the meal had been to our satisfaction. The hotel is family run and someone was always there to see to your needs. The older gentleman, perhaps the grandfather, gave us good advice on the route to take on the next day.
Review 115:Terrace service owner was difficult. The employees were excellent.
Review 116:Rust, locatie
Review 117:Carpet needs replacing in hotel bedrooms
Review 118:Wonderful location to tour Lago d'Iseo
Review 119:Comfort, food, cleanliness
Review 120:Very good restaurant sitting outside looking over the lake good value
Review 121:air conditioning a little noisy.
Review 122:Very friendly helpful staff, excellent food with detail given to presentation.
Review 123:Very friendly staff and very charming place in a beautiful setting. Excellent breakfast
Review 124:It was fairly quiet with a limited choice of restaurant within easy walking distance
Review 125:The hotel and staff were excellent, right next to the lake
