Reviews for Safed Inn

Review 1:After a long drive the Safed Inn was a perfect place to relax. The lobby feels immediately like home. But most amazing is the lovely couple who run the business. Besides providing every comfort which is possible they are very interesting and funny and gave us a deep inside into the culture of Safed and Israel. The breakfast was amazing too, especially the cinnamon rolls.

Review 2:Everything was better than expected.

Review 3:We came overnight for a wedding in the locality and wanted a moderately priced accommodation which Safed Inn seemed to provide. We felt that the standard of accommodation received was much better than expected and would say that some of the five star hotels could learn a lot here. Appreciate the shoe shine in the room which really shines shoes - ideal for the wedding. Highly recomended. We had the continual breakfast in the morning which in the USA/Europe would have been a full breakfast.

Review 4:It was a bit noisy in the evenings from outside.

Review 5:We stayed here three nights and had a good time. The host and hostes were very nice. The room was big and the sanatory as well. The breakfast was very nice, a lot of homemade stuff. Its not very 'luxury' but the atmosphere is 'gezellig'. There is a big garden.

Review 6:The half-bath-half-shower in my room was a bit difficult to navigate since there wasn't much room to stand.

Review 7:Riki (owner) is amazing! She was incredibly kind and helpful, giving me tips to make my travel easier. The property is absolutely gorgeous with plants abounding.

Review 8:Hosts were so helpful, knowledgable. They sent us to an amazing dinner spot, made reservations for us for the next day. Hot tub, spa, amazing breakfast were all extra treats.

Review 9:The ensuite bathroom was very small ( but this was a standard room, not the deluxe suite), and the place felt a bit "tired". I found the given directions to Safed Inn were difficult to follow and frustrating.

Review 10:Owners were very pleasant and helpful and offered those "home-made" extras from their fruit trees and garden. Made me feel at home. Good location if you want to be away from the heat and bustle of town. Great restaurant and a grocery store nearby. Overall good experience and value. I would return.

Review 11:I had hoped for a place to eat outdoors of our room. Not bad...

Review 12:We got immediate help with the television. The bed was great. The hot tub was to die for (terrific!!!!). The owner called for cabs for us.They were very friendly and helpful about everything. I love the ambiance of the lobby. Rock n roll music.books about antique cars and photos of ancient Tzfat. we also had a view of Mount Hermon from our window.

Review 13:Furniture a bit old. You need a car because it is far from center of town.

Review 14:Very kind welcome. The owner is really sympathetic and prevents all needs. I was happy to come here and the price is really very nice ! Worth the price.

Review 15:Breakfast is a bit expensive and the place is a bit far from the old city.

Review 16:The staff is wonderfull and the place is very nice! There is a small market where buyng something to cook.

Review 17:Nada- (Nothing)

Review 18:We thoroughly enjoyed our 4-night stay with Riki & Dubi hosting at their wonderful B&B. During our stay we found the facility containing everything we needed: kitchen, privacy, great atmosphere, wonderful hosts (!) extremely helpful. Located a short ride from the bustling city center. Local bus runs right across the street. Taxi's are abundant if you desire. The Byria forest is in walking distance. We are looking forward to staying at the Ruckenstein B&B next time we visit northern Israel. Definitely 5-star. (Our friends stayed at a (5-star)hotel in town and were extremely disappointed). We were not at all!!! This is the place to stay in Safed !!!!

Review 19:room arrangement too restricted,a bit dark/

Review 20:feprivacy of room, inexpensive good breakfasts, english newspapers available every morning, residential location in safe quiet suburb

Review 21:The only thing is the map of the city that was hard to understand for me.

Review 22:This hostel is situated on a hill that gives a great view on the city if you go down and is easily accessible and connected to the old city by the bus number 3 and taxis (around 20 NIS). The view is spectacular and the air is better and purer, the atmosphere is very calm and the area is residential so this is ideal for lonely travellers looking for quiet as for couples looking for a romantic natural and authentic setting. The hostel standards in terms of cleanliness in general and organisation is equal to a 4 stars in France which makes it an excellent deal with the price that is cheaper than other places in town. If you want to taste a local food made by the owner (she is a chef de cuisine and actually enjoys cooking) even basic products like jams, breads, liquors and other delicatesse is home made and presented in a nice restaurant inside the hostel with real love in addition to normal foods. The couple Rickie and Dubee live there and they're very nice, generous, always available to help even if you're lost in town you can contact them by phone and they will guide you. The hostel in itself is a nice property with a garden, the inside decoration is warm, cosy and elegant, and you would feel home as soon as you get in. WIFI connection is perfect everywhere in the hostel but that is not a problem in Israel, and there is a computer room available for free with internet. Air conditionning works fine, hot water too, lockers are available in the dorms, all equipment in general is working well. And you get a nice departure gift! This hostel is the perfect place if you are visiting Tsfat and if you go once, you would want to return for sure.

Review 23:Buses to town did not run that often.

Review 24:The hosts were great and the atmosphere excellent. Very comfortad bed Nx good transportation nearby. I would recommend and would stay there again.

Review 25:Fantastic owners. We have had very nice discussions with them. They also gave us some fantastic tips for restaurants, and things to do (and not to do). We had a very nice time here. Great breakfast as well.

Review 26:Rikki is delightful and fun! She is also a chef so breakfast was great! Very clean and comfortable. Would definitely go back and stay longer!! One of the best places we have stayed yet in Israel! Well done!

Review 27:The price for the room is just a bit too expensive.

Review 28:Beautiful, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent Jacuzzi bath, TV, refrigerator and corner for tea/coffee. Very kind and helpful staff. Continental breakfast definitively worth the money.

Review 29:A bit far away from Tzfat proper

Review 30:Amazing place! Greenery, sauna, fishes, hammocks, trees, trees, trees! The beds are ultra comfy, with apparently fresh sheets daily. And I was in the cheapest dorm room there as well. Beautiful!

Review 31:Lack of wi-fi in the room. Wi-fi only seemed stronger while sitting outside in the garden, close to the reception area.

Review 32:The owners, Riki and her husband, were wonderful. We were made to feel at home right away. They went the extra mile for us, by accommodating some requests we had, and also finding some soya products for one of our group who had special dietary requirements.

Review 33:The hostess was extremely kind and friendly, and the location was beautiful and convenient to the city center by car or bus. The breakfast was way above average by the way; much more than the usual hard-boil eggs! An additional plus: the restaurant Garden of Eden, located about a two minutes drive away, is highly recommended--make sure to order a loaf of their homemade bread!

Review 34:Staying at this place was a great experience. Quiet and comfortable, spectcular breakfast with homemade products, and all the information you may need on Safed and the whole Golan region. Really thanks for hosting, coul not ask more!

Review 35:personality of the place and simpaty of the owner. well organized and beautyfull ... and fresch!!

Review 36:excellent rooms: you will find everything that you need, even scissors for coffee portion packs:)

Review 37:The only downside is the shower/washroom. Too small.

Review 38:Nice owener, beautiful environment, and great breakfast.

Review 39:I liked everythibg

Review 40:Rikki and her cade

Review 41:I didn't like the blanket. With a few updating the environment would have a different appeal.

Review 42:Lived the restsurant down the block- Gan Eden

Review 43:The proprietors were very hospitable and helpful in every way.

Review 44:Shower wasn't the greatest

Review 45:Comfortable beds

Review 46:Inadequate heating system- freezing at night. Needs upgrading.

Review 47:Great host and food

Review 48:Easy to do laundry, very good full breakfast, computer use for guests.

Review 49:nothing

Review 50:the owner is so nice & thanks for the interesting chat. the break fast is awesome the recommended dinner is so great!

Review 51:It is a bit out-dated in decor.

Review 52:Large room, good air conditioning, friendly staff, etc Beautiful grounds.

Review 53:- only reachable by car

Review 54:-staff is great and friendly - hot tub, table tennis, rocking chairs in huge garden

Review 55:I wish we could have stayed longer!

Review 56:Riki & Dov did a marvelous job of helping us with details about our trip, from dinner reservations, to driving directions, to help in planning our next trip. The rooms are perfect, breakfasts incredible, the atmosphere totally welcoming, the hosts personable, knowledgeable and friendly --instantly like family!

Review 57:A special place with a ´nice atmosphere. You have everything you need. Safed Inn is perfect for travelling round in Galileen. We also liked Rick and Dov very much. They really wanted the best for us during our stay Israel, they are warm and generous. Lilian

Review 58:Riki & Dov are the best host and would recommend a stay in Safed Inn! The private rooms are perfect, clean and has everything (heating, fridge, airco, good shower, kettle, tea, etc). Also they have got a nice big garden and even hot tub and sauna. Safed Inn offers all facilities from wifi to laundry and even a computer which you could use if you want. But the best is that Dov and Riki are very helpful and you can ask them anything. They certainly know a lot about the area, where to go to for example the best lunch and views. We loved our stay and even booked a night longer, since it's just a perfect location to explore the Golan Heights and we felt at home at Safed Inn.

Review 59:I liked it all. I was only going to stay in Tsfat two days, but extended my time to five days and made the Safed Inn my home base to travel to the North each day.

Review 60:The best part about the Safed Inn are the two owners Riki and Dov. They helped me each day with my plans. They gave me directions, points of interest along the way, places to eat, and some background info as well. The second best part are the breakfasts each morning. Eggs anyway you want them or yogurt with granola, breads with 3 homemade jams to choose from, freshly baked danish, coffee or tea and juice. You could also choose a Mediterranean breakfast that had cheeses, fruits, and breads etc. My room was super comfortable. It had 3 walls of windows that opened so I could listen to the birds and fountains and so I could breath in the fresh mountain air of Tsfat. The bed was two twins with super soft sheets. It has a TV with cable that has many channel and no snow. A fridge in the room stocked with free bottles of water and free WIFI.

Review 61:Great place! Great people! Great value! Nice garden! Relaxed atmosphere! At Easter everything was closed when we arrived (8pm), and they drove us to - and picked us up- at a restaurant opening at 9pm (literally they ONLY open place in the whole town), super-thanks!! WOW!

Review 62:Lovely atmosphere in this family run cozy hotel. Nice common area. Outside jacuzzi bath in the evening amid blossoming roses. I would like to return and spend more time there.

Review 63:Place is too far and not located by gps. I got lost for 1 hour. Afttercalling the hotel, they did not give big help. The address on booking isnot the address in the city. The lady said she had sent an email withdirections but I never got it.the facilities are old and not very clean...

Review 64:The view is nice.

Review 65:Nothing really.

Review 66:My first and last impressions of Rikki the hostess were excellent. She was very friendly, helpful, and gracious. I also loved all the flowers and blooming trees in the gardens. Her continental breakfast was outstanding, and her restaurant recommendation also. I'd come here again.

Review 67:the place is located outside safed, so you need a car or bus to get to the city, which takes about 10-20mins. for us it was not a problem since we had a rental car, but its probably good to know. there were enough free parking spaces in front of the safed inn.

Review 68:the owners are really nice and helpful, they try their best to make people feel welcome. the breakfast was not included but excellent. the room was comfortable and we even had bathrobes, which was a nice surprise for us. the bathroom was very clean. there is also a small bar where you can bus drinks or try homemade liqueurs and talk to other guests. it was a very nice atmosphere in general. the rooms are located around a nice backyard, where you can hang out or play pingpong. we would definitely recommend this place!

Review 69:Somebody say: hard to find. But we found it immediately due to studying map before searching

Review 70:Nice place, everything in room for travelers, excellent staff - owners, great breakfast - who missed Israeli breakfast will regret - try and You will see.

Review 71:Nothing to not like!

Review 72:When we stayed, it was quite cool so a cosy room was much appreciated as was the bar! Breakfasts amazing, catered for Gluten free with no prior notice, GF cereal, bread and cakes as well as cooked eggs. Also ensured my wife had Gluten Free bread and breakfast muffins to cover the rest of our trip!

Review 73:Very clean and warm. The place is atmospheric and the owner really makes you feel at home. I wish I could have stayed longer in Safed and if I ever come back, this will be my go to place for a restful night's sleep. The dorms are not really like a hostel; must nicer. The owner provides towels, soap and cleaning service each day as in a hotel. Bus stop into the city was very convenient.

Review 74:Nothing.

Review 75:If we could give 105% we certainly would. Amazing staff - the owners were very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend rich and delicious breakfast + jacuzzi in the garden. It was definitely our best accommodation in Israel.

Review 76:Very good wifi, wonderful continental breakfast, clean and comfortable room, good selection of TV channels, warm welcome by the hostess, peaceful location.

Review 77:The location was a bit annoying as you have to get a bus into town. But buses were fairly frequent.

Review 78:The lady who runs the hostel is very helpful and friendly. Lovely garden setting. Rooms were comfortable. There is a nice common area with a bar.

Review 79:I love the kindness which I was received at this hotel. For me was the best that I stayed in Israel! The place, the rooms, the breakfast, person and atmosphere became my visit a real pleasure. I will never forget the owners of the hotel which put a very good music at the breakfast, also put the Brazilian flag outside the hotel in my honor! Learn some nice words in Portuguese and prepare a nice, warm and delicious breakfast. All the attention of the world I received overthere and the price is excellent! I will really come back and stay more time overthere, is a heaven on Earth! Thank you very much!

Review 80:There is really nothing to enter here. We were TOTALLY satisfied, and intend to stay there again when we are in the area.

Review 81:The owners are magnanimous in their efforts to make guests feel comfortable. One could never get such personal service elsewhere.

Review 82:Ricky and her husband, owners, helped put us in touch with Yoram,driver/guide, who took us exactly where we wanted to go, and to a few places we never would have found on our own in the Golan and Galilee, about a nine hour trip. The zimmer is very comfortable. We'll stay there every time we're in Sefat.

Review 83:Everything was wonderful!

Review 84:This place is heaven on earth! The owners are hands on, Rikki isdelightful and fun! She is also a chef so breakfast was great! Veryclean and comfortable. Would definitely go back and stay longer!! Bestplace we have stayed yet in Israel! Well done!

Review 85:The location is somewhat (3 km) out of the centre of Safed, so youreally need a car (in the weekend).

Review 86:Riki and Dov are very kind people who helped us with everything. Theyexplained everything very well, always with a smile, from goodrestaurants to sight seeing and travelling tips. We forgot a jacket andthey were even willing to send it to us in our next hotel! The room wasvery comfortable and spacious, including bathrobes to use for the hottub and sauna. Breakfast made by the owners was totally worth it.In former reactions it is said that the B&B is hard to find, but be sure to follow the instructions send by Riki after your booking. Then you will find it easily!

Review 87:the only concern was its short distance from Tsfat - about 4 kms but a taxi is very cheap if you dont have your own transport.

Review 88:Safed Inn is like its location, very relaxed, it was a joy to be there and the facilities were wonderful, it is a colourful albeit a little old establishment but have no hestitation in booking, the owners are there to serve.

Review 89:2 things you have to know before booking:1) on booking.com, it is mentioned that there is only 2 or 3 beds maximum in the dorm. We were in a 4-bed dorm, so it’s a mistake. 2) Booking.com converted our price (we paid 815 ILS for 2 people, 4 nights, in a dorm) in dollars (i.e. 232 US $). The problem is that Safed Inn used a high exchange rate, so when they converted the price in ILS again, it became 872 ILS! So be aware of this when you book. All prices in Safed are given in US $ (7.5 $ for continental breakfast). The rate to convert in ILS was even higher (becomes 30 ILS). So pay in advance if you can to avoid this when you will leave. In our case, we paid 8% more than forecasted. It’s a shame as owners are nice and the guest house is ok; you have a kitchen with a fridge and access to a computer with internet. Also, as it is already mentioned, don’t go there if you don’t have a car.

Review 90:Kitchen and computer

Review 91:When they say you need a car on shabbat, it's because you need a car on shabbat!

Review 92:Owners were extremely friendly, property was very relaxing, several good restaurants nearby, a quick drive into Tzfat and an excellent base for exploring Galilee and the Golan Heights.

Review 93:The owners are super friendly, nice and helpful people who always have time for their guests. Also very attentive, I was feeling sick and they gave me medicine which helped me a lot! The place is beautiful, breakfast is really abundant and rich. All in all, we felt like emperors there!

Review 94:Room was a bit dated. Tzfat is not walking distance from where we are staying.

Review 95:Recommendations by staff for restaurants and activities were helpful. Outdoor facilities were nice. Breakfast was good

Review 96:its not in the center so more awkward to get to, however being far out and 'up'... its cooler with great views and a beautiful outdoor area..& bring insect repellant

Review 97:lovely owners who go of out of their way to help without being over the top , superb breakfast with great coffee... excellent wifi that worked everywhere and a beautiful spacious outside area with lots of seating and hammocks! ..also 2 gorgeous dogs :)

Review 98:Our bathroom door was difficult to move and made a horrible shrieking noise when it did. AstroTurf on the pathways looks shabby, but is low maintenance.

Review 99:Owners are friendly and the wife is a native English speaker. Our room was comfortable, clean, and had all the amenities, including a jacuzzi tub. The Inn is a short drive from the hustle and bustle of Safed, but enough removed to be quiet. We did not order the Israeli breakfast, but even the continental one was huge and tasty.

Review 100:We had difficulty finding the Safed Inn. Although the directions seemed very clear, once we were on the road we were totally confused. Fortunately Dov helped us out we kept calling him every five minutes and we made it! Again after dinner in Safed we encountered difficulties to return to the hotel, some helpful people along the road helped us make it.

Review 101:It was clean, comfortable, roomy and quiet. Thank you

Review 102:Pay attemeniton at the metal piping sticking out at the parking place. It is not visible from the car and you can scratch your car easily what we also did.

Review 103:Excellent service provided by the Ruckenstein family. Thanks again! Rich and nice continental breakfast. Friendly atmosphere. If I come again to Safed, I will stay here.

Review 104:Facilities very old and rough in maintenance. Bed is a foam pad on a board, no major comfort. The "TV" is tube, and was not able to get it to work. Location is far from art and old jewish quarter.

Review 105:Nice outdoor area for eating bbq and group kitchen for prep. Man in office helpful. They gave us a bottle of wine to enjoy with meal.

Review 106:That they're already fully booked for our holiday dates this summer!!

Review 107:Absolutely fabulous in all respects; lovely helpful owners, gorgeousgrounds, calm, peaceful, clean, value for money, location is great,Ricky and Dov thought of everything! Our first stay but it felt likecoming home. Ask Ricky for her jam receipes!

Review 108:Best B&B in northern Israel. The Ruckensteins are amazing people who go out of their way to make your stay as perfect as possible. Outstanding breakfast! We strongly recommend you stay at the Safed Inn when looking for a place in Northern Israel.

Review 109:We have no criticisms. Just have a good map or follow the directions youare sent, as the Inn is outside of town.

Review 110:We like everything about Safed Inn. Riki and Dov were very gracious andwent out of their way to answer the many questions we had. Our room wasfine and we made use of the hot tub at night to really relax. Thecontinental breakfast was very filling and excellently prepared.

Review 111:The owners were very friendly, giving us great advise for touring the area. They also made a wonderful breakfast with home made bread, jams and olives.

Review 112:The owners were helpful and warm people. The breakfast was delicious. The rooms well heated and very clean. It is a very quiet, tranquil place and we slept well.

Review 113:Location is up steep winding roads which require a car or public transport to get to restaurant or café down in Safed for lunch or dinner. This limitation was clearly indicated by the Inn before we arrived.

Review 114:Beautiful location at the top of the hills overlooking Galilee region - with friendly staff and relaxing atmosphere. A great way to end our stay in Israel!

Review 115:very nice and helpful hosts, nice decoration of all the facilities, big garden with jaccuzi and sauna, rich and tasty breakfast, clean, quiet, heating, fresh white linnen and towels

Review 116:The Inn has an older infrastructure and appearance.

Review 117:Hosts were very friendly, accommodating and helpful. They were able to offer me gluten free bread and were flexible with their meal and room clean up times. They also were knowledgeable about the area and offered good ways to get around, where to go and what to eat.

Review 118:The Safed Inn is the B&B complex with excellent rooms (I stayed inthe upgraded room with jacuzzi), great breakfasts, good amenities(includes wi-fi, sauna, hot tub outside, fridge, outside quest kitchen, and numerous patios/benches), and nice hosts who will be happy toassist you in any questions, requests or concerns. Great for romanticgetaways where peace and tranquility is needed.

Review 119:a bit hard to get to, must take local bus or taxi. Next city Safed is great but cannot walk there.

Review 120:nice people, great rooms - very clean and comfy, mattresses and everything else was new not worn out. "Dorms" are 2-bed-rooms: great value! Sauna and whirlpool for $3 extra :-) Nice common area, friendly hosts. Got self-made winter wine for free, very hospitable

Review 121:Friendly and helpful hosts. Very clean, big comfortable room, fridge,WiFi. Breakfast costs extra, but both the Israeli and the continentalwere delicious. There is also a communal sauna, jacuzzi, and smallkitchen. Car is a must. Good location for exploring upper Galilee.

Review 122:- rooms are very old - bathroom didn't smell nice and was dirty...

Review 123:- lovely garden - very talkative and nice host

Review 124:Very helpful personal, nice and quiet place, beautiful garden with sauna and jacuzzi. Near to the Safed center if you travel by car.
