Reviews for Kagariya
Review 1:Rather old and tired looking. Bathroom really tiny.
Review 2:Pleasantly surprised to view the red glasswort just outside our room window. Food here is excellent.
Review 3:Location is quite remote though along east coastal road. Night time ambience at corridor n L1 onsen was disserted n could be quite scary as staff member retires early by 9pm from L1 reception n restaurant.
Review 4:We had half board meal provision. Both dinner n breakfast meals were sumptuous n delicious.
Review 5:Toilet is too small and cramp. No shower curtain.
Review 6:The dinner is superb and yummy! Located in a quiet town, 15 mins drive from Abashiri station with free shuttle service provided by Kagariya.
Review 7:I loved everything about Kagariya. Felt very happy there and was sad to go. Great room, cleanliness first rate, really helpful staff, lovely food and of course, fantastic location. It's a little out of Abashiri. For some that might be an issue, but for me personally it was a plus. You just look out of the window onto lake Notoro-ko! There's a cycle path that goes right round it and into Abashiri if you've got the legs. The hotel lent me bike so I didn't have to hire one. I'd recommend having your own transport, but then I think that's a good idea in Hokkaido anyway. Also, worth having your evening meals there which were excellent.
Review 8:value for money of kaiseki-ryōri low temperature of the room ingredients of onsen(hot spa)

Review 13:Probably could improve on the assigning of rooms. I booked a room with an attached bathroom was told the rooms with attached bathrooms were fully occupied upon arrival. Nevertheless, the staff were very accommodating to offer us free usage of the private onsens.
Review 14:I thought the breakfast and service provided by the staff was excellent.
Review 15:Nothing
Review 16:Hotel staffs speak little English but they are always there to help out. The location is pretty far away from the city but that is to be expected.
Review 17:Very poor English, seafood dinner must be reserved in advance, upper floors have noticeable cooking smells, location is further away from Abashiri than expected
Review 18:Nice view on Lake Notoro, very good cuisine (seafood dinner and breakfast), friendly staff, large rooms, nice onsen
Review 19:Rotenburo(outside bath) was not connected to the regular sharing bath and we have to make a reservation with a charge.
Review 20:The hotel is located right in front of Notoro Lake, and it is very quiet. The breakfast was good, too. All the Japanese style decor inside was really nice. The hardwood floor thougthout was really clean!
Review 21:We have two rooms, however there is no wifi in one room.
Review 22:We are served dinner in a private dining room for four of us. Dinner is excellent and both my son and husband did not take crab, they changed a whole piece of fish and beef for them, it was really delicious. The room is very big with tatami sitting room.

Review 50:Excellent service Excellent dinner
Review 51:The property is around 12km from the nearest town. Is convenient only if you are driving.
Review 52:Dinner and breakfast were excellent!
Review 53:We were in the older unrenovated wing. The room felt old and worn. There was a lingering smell of food and the occasional sound of the resident dog growling very close to our room. Breakfast for the kids was very expensive at 3500 yen per child!
Review 54:Traditional tatami area alongside western beds - able to accommodate a couple of futons for kids. Housekeeping staff were very pleasant and helpful, offering kids yukata robes.
Review 55:Food was very good, the onsen was also very comfortable. My family thoroughly enjoyed the stay. All the staff were very helpful. It is just a little off the road
Review 56:Accessibility is restricted if you are not driving.
Review 57:The halfboard option is excellent - especially the dinner. Very good scenery, esp more so if one is coming in August/September period to view the glasswort. Very friendly staff though limited command of English.
Review 58:Everything!! Kagariya is located in a magical place right on the edge of the ocean - the rooms are traditional and the staff generous with non-Japanese speakers. The food is amazing. The short drive out of Abershiri is breathtaking. What more could you ask for?
Review 59:Nothing really.
Review 60:Japanese style but easy to manage for a foreigner because the staff cancommunicate in English for the basics. On top of public bath, the hotelalso offer private bath good for a small family. Excellent breakfast, wechecked in too late to test dinner. The near-by old train linetransformed in a bicycle path offer a running track good for a marathonif you feel like.
Review 61:Ryukan style hotel. Quite, friendly, lovely. But bus is not available! By taxi costs about 5000yen!! It's really embarrassed. If you have a car, it is very recommendablel!!!
Review 62:No lift for people .
Review 63:Outdoor SPA. Free hotel commute service.
