Reviews for Hotel Corso

Review 1:You could hear a bit of traffic noise in the room. Visiting in the end of November many shops and restaurants are closed and it is very cold - 0 - 8 degrees.

Review 2:Good location, not far from funicular which comes directly up to the top of the hill from the train station. Right on the main street but out of the busy central area which is only a short walk away. Very helpful staff. Lovely big room and bathroom, nicely decorated. Found a fabulous restaurant just around the corner - L'Antica Rupe, one of our best meals during 2 months travel!

Review 3:location was perfect, short walk to center of town and to the train station. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was overlooking the main street, bright and cheerful, noise didn't bother us.

Review 4:The room was satisfactory, but there was no generosity of spirit in this property. The owner was operating very conservatively. It is off season, so not many rooms were rented. Orvieto is inhabited by many grim-faced, grumpy older people who are said to be disenchanted because they have to pay high taxes. Pleeeeeeeeeeze!

Review 5:The staff were pleasant but not outgoing.

Review 6:Space in our room was tight but adequate and we appreciated having a balcony where we could catch a glimpse of life outside--and also have a place to hang laundry to dry!

Review 7:The location of Hotel Corso was excellent, within easy walking to all places of interest. We also found the staff to friendly and helpful especially when making suggestions regarding interesting restaurants to try. Breakfast offerings were plentiful and varied.

Review 8:Doors to rooms don't lock automatically like most hotels today. There is a risk of leaving them unlocked.

Review 9:The breakfast was excellent, the staff courteous. Atmosphere was personal.

Review 10:Bathroom very small, noises from other rooms, doors banging and rather tired furnishings. Wouldn't want to stay more than one night.

Review 11:Good location for the town.

Review 12:Squishy, sinking matress that did no favours for my back. Charmless breakfast staff and night porter. It would also be helpful if they knew the correct opening times of local sights, which they didn't.

Review 13:Good location on the main street. Private parking in covered car park possible for 10 euros.

Review 14:The bed was a more firm than normal (even for European standards). After trying to get the air-conditioning to turn on, we went to the front desk where they have to flip the circuit breaker and turn it on from there. The air conditioning turned off at 0836 in the morning. In our room one light bulb was out. The shower-head would not hang properly and we had to improvise and fasten it using a shower cap. The bathroom window opens facing a patio - people talking on the patio are only a meter or two away; you can hear them and they can hear you clearly. There is no ventilation fan in the bathroom. There are no screens on the windows.

Review 15:Our room was clean and attractively decorated. The room was a comfortable size (although the bathroom was a bit small). The hotel is in a great location within walking distance of all the sites and the Via Roma public parking garage is a 50 meter walk. The hotel is in a beautiful historic building. The breakfast was good (typical selection of pastries, meat, cheese, cereal, fruit, yogurt) and the coffee was delicious; they will serve it any way you want it. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They gave us a fantastic recommendation for a restaurant. The rooms have free Wi-Fi and it worked well (signal strength is medium-low and bandwidth is OK). I recommend this hotel; it is a good value for the money.

Review 16:No restaurant or bar but wasn't a problem as town filled with good places to eat & hotel very central.

Review 17:Comfortable ,staff very helpful, good secure car parking, room very clean, had good hairdryer & lots of towels,.

Review 18:while traveling with my friend, we didn't know what train to get but the women at the desk helped us look online for tickets! And in the morning we had a few house to wait before the train and she let us leave our bags in the hotel while we went to a cafe!Super nice!!

Review 19:The bed was a bit rough, the wifi worked but not very effectively, and the breakfast consisted mostly of sweet things (as I presume is the case in Italy more generally).

Review 20:A clean, nice, basic hotel with good location, slightly removed from the dome (which we consider a good thing). Room with balcony.

Review 21:The internet speed could have been a bit faster. But it was always working, with no real problems.

Review 22:A nice double bed for a solo traveller. Not as centrally located to all the sights as others, but it has a friendly and helpful staff, a decent breakfast, and is close to the funicular.

Review 23:Our window faced the main corso so trucks ( rubbish or delivery?) rattled by early in the morning but then we were usually lulled back to sleep by the melodic accents of locals as they went about their daily lives.

Review 24:Staff were all friendly, rooms very comfortable and we were next to a delightful upper terrace, a very pleasant place to sit out with a glass of local vino.Situated midway between the funiculare and the Duomo on the main corso. We were given a bottle of local wine when we left, which was a nice touch.

Review 25:The hotel is splendidly situated in the historical centre of Orvieto. And still not far away from parking facilities. The staff assisted well when guiding us to the car park close by. There is a nice small terrasse with a fine view over the old street -- this terrasse also being friendly for smokers.

Review 26:The shower cubicle was very small, but otherwise ok

Review 27:A very clean, well presented Hotel with friendly staff. The breakfast was plentiful and the proximity to the funiculare and town centre was superb. Excellent value.

Review 28:There was nothing we really disliked!

Review 29:This hotel was quaint, with old fashioned décor and very pretty breakfast room. The breakfast fruit salad was excellent, and the staff very obliging.

Review 30:The hotel is clean but the decor is very dated. Like going back to the Late 1980's.

Review 31:Fantastic breakfast items. Fresh pastries with several types. Everything from cereals, sliced meats and cheese, fresh fruit salad and more. Staff was ver friendly too. Perfect location when arriving by funicular

Review 32:Just a few minutes from the cable car station and along the main street. You can find very easily. The facilitation is nice and comfortable. I feel no compliant.

Review 33:Very friendly & helpful staff who made us feel valued. Also gave good local restaurant input. Great location with all key cultural sights in easy walking distance.

Review 34:Walls were a little thin like most older hotels and lobby had a musty smell, thought did not extend to the room.

Review 35:Helpful staff, fantastic location. And great breakfast every morning. Great value for money and I will definitely go back.

Review 36:Nothing significant. If you're looking hard to find something, the shower was small did not drain quickly.

Review 37:Hotel was charming and close to funicular for those arriving by train. Breakfast was typical Italian and very good. A short stroll through a interesting, medival town to most of the major sights. A rooftop terrace to enjoy a glass of wine.

Review 38:Rooms are very small even tough our room was suppose to be Large. The bed and the pillows were very hard. The shower stall is extremely tight hardly any room to turn around. WiFi does work in the room but only at certain direction.

Review 39:Location is excellent right in the old town of Orvieto, very authentic. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast.

Review 40:Would have preferred a varied breakfast. We were there 4 nights and the seleftion was the same each day.

Review 41:Location was good. A nice walk in to town. Friendly staff. Beds comfortable.

Review 42:Hotel Corso and its staff are very efficient and helpful and we seem to have made some friends here. Love the room decor, the cleanliness and the location. In a medieval town, we had all the modern facilities we are accustomed to.

Review 43:Complicated with a car - don't use GPS. Drive to Pz. Cahen where the Corso starts (or end) and park there and walk to the hotel (5 min). You need a permission - it would have been nice if the hotel had given some instructions when you ordered a parking place.

Review 44:Nice small family-hotel with newly renovated small rooms.

Review 45:Great location to explore the town. Parking not a problem as you can drive to the door to unload then leave the car in reserved parking space in a car park round the corner. Good value for money.

Review 46:You would be very difficult to please if there was something you didnt like.

Review 47:The staff were so friendly and helpful. The location sensational. We loved the arrangement of the towels , slippers and petals on our bed. The breakfast was terrific and because we are often misplacing things leaving the keys at reception we think is inspired. The terrace is such a lovely place to rest . A we also really enjoyed our funny encounters with the lovely cleaning lady .

Review 48:Parking is a bit far.

Review 49:The cleanliness and the high quality to cost ratio, very good and varied breakfast, the easy access from Corso Cavour, a 5 mn walk to the sumptuous Duomo, and the friendliness of the staff.

Review 50:Couldn't find any English TV channels, but then I did not go there to watch TV.

Review 51:Lovely room, sparkling clean. Excellent location. Secure undercover parking. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Review 52:The shower was so small that every time I moved inside it you would knock the tap and it would turn off. Doors of shower got stuck when opening & closing - came off tracks each time. Very small bathroom. Hotel smelt of stale cigarette throughout. The beds were too short.

Review 53:Staff tried hard to please. Very pleasant to guests.

Review 54:Nothing to fault.

Review 55:The is very well located in the old town and only a short walk from the Funicular (5 min). It was very easy to find as it is located in the main street of the town. The staff were very informative and helpful. The Wifi was good and the room was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was on a par with the best we have encountered in Italy with an assortment of sweet and savoury foods, while the fruit salad and yogurt was appreciated. The cakes were very good. Although not cheap, it is highly recommended.

Review 56:Weak cleanness in bathroom, breakfast could be richer.

Review 57:Perfectly located very close to the historic centre, fair parking fee in nearby car park. You may even enter the Zona Traffico Limitato if you leave your license plate later at the reception. Friendly staff, nicely furnished room, free city map.

Review 58:The staff was really friendly and helpful, there was no curfew and they took care of our luggage after we had checked out. The breakfast buffet had a nice variety of good food.

Review 59:A sign in English above the a.c. controls would help us regulate the temperature better. Otherwise all was perfect.

Review 60:Perfect location for getting to the train station, and an easy walk to everyplace we wanted to get to. Staff was helpful with restaurant suggestions.

Review 61:Good location & great breakfast.
