Reviews for Petra Nights Hotel
Review 1:We assumed to have booked a Double bed room in a nice, clean and newly renewed hotel full of services and with a kind and helpful staff (this last pecuiliarity it's been common during our wonderful stay in Jordan) but we were completely wrong! As soon as we got there we discovered that they gave us a Twin bed room, the access to the Spa wasn't free of charge, so we went straight to the room, just after the receptionist tried insistently to make us booking the dinner for the next two nights but fortunately we refused. The first thing that welcomed us into the room was the awful smell that came from the bathroom, the second one was the dirty bedsheets covered of red and black spots and of course the wifi wasnt working. So we complaint and after offering the free breakfast and the free access to the Spa they changed the sheets under the promise that we will not make a bad review.I was satisfied about how the fixed everything (but the stinky bathroom) and the day after we visited the amazing Petra Site.As soon as I got the reception we found another guy and we said we would liked to access to the Spa precising that we have the free access to it, he rudly denied and said we got the breakfast for free and that was enough, quite upset I went to the room and I discovered that the heater hadn't been working since morning and the inside temperature was freezing I went three times to the reception and in 3 hrs they hadnt been able to fix it and we had to sleep without heater (outside temperature 2 degrees). The morning after we went for breakfast and I was going to eat when the guy who promised me all the reparation services told me that the free breakfast was only for the first day then I left the restaurant super upset and I told him that the promise wasnt valid anymore and that the stay has been a nightmare and the treatment was the most unfair ever.As soon as we left the hotel we received an email from booking.
Review 2:Petra
Review 3:*Only if they have a little more hot (in terms of temperature) shower.
Review 4:*A nice-touch room. Made me feel so good. *With a hairdryer *A little bit small, but they have bathtub *Kind and smart staffs *They have free transportation service to Petra and near bus station (to Aqaba in my case). *A little far from Petra, but not so far for me
Review 5:Rooms were sub standard - hotel have SO much potential? All the boxes are ticked - but really JUST the bare minimum! eg - Kettle in room with a few tea bags? No coffee - No Creamer? TV in room - if you can figure out the hanging wiring?
Review 6:Restaurant was nice - friendly service
Review 7:It is amazing hotel with professional services and hi-quality. the restaurant is very good the chef is great. the interior of the rooms is in good style and very comfortable. I am reccomending it to all people
Review 8:View to the wall, very very noisy, not center location, poor wi-fi, no channels in the tv, no toilet paper, no friendly staff, that wanted to cheat us. We had booked a room with double bed and mountain view- this was the description to the booking.com site. The room had two single beds and view to a dirty wall with airconditions! We returned to the reception to ask for the room we had booked and they told us that they haven't got other room, this was the room that we had to stay. We opened the window and we the view was dirty walls and 3 airconditions on them! Terrible! Moreover, we couldn't sleep at night from the noise. We opened the tv, so not to hear the noise and there was only one arabic channel. We hadn't got toilet paper (we went to reception to ask for it- they didn't clean the room also) and the second day we dind't have warm water! The wi-fi was very very slow and we spent a half an hour only to read our e-mails. Last but not least, they wrote in booking.com when we were gone that we canceled the reservation, so the system not to let us write the comments and we had to communicate with booking.com to prove that we stayed in this terrible hotel! They tried to cheat the booking.com and us!
Review 9:The decoration of the room and the bathroom
Review 10:I had a very comfortable stay and i was amazed by the exceptional friendly and helpful attitude of the staff. I will definetely stay at this hotel the next time i visit Petra.
Review 11:Nothing negative about the hotel, except perhaps that it needs a little bit of a renovation. It's no Ritz, but functional and comfortable, with everything you need. The location isn't ideal - about a 40 minute walk down to Petra; albeit a nice walk, so we didn't mind so much. Worth mentioning, mind, that the kind staff - on more than one occasion - drove us down, without expecting any compensation.
Review 12:Friendly and helpful staff, who were willing to go the extra mile for us in helping arrange both our activities whilst in Petra, and travel for our next part of our trip. The little things deserve a mention also - when we arrived, we were greeted with a coffee, and plenty of information and good vibes. We had a Turkish Hamman, which was a relaxing and revitalising experience, and great value for money!
Review 13:Lied on free breakfast. No Wi Fi. No hot water. Toilet tank had no water after flush. 2 days of filling the toilet tank. TV issues did not work after many attempts. Wrong control. The list goes on & on.I was glad to leave. They thought about their money and no service.
Review 14:Leaving
Review 15:The location is awful - nothing is nearby and unless you're up for a 3k walk, you'll want a taxi to get to dinner/drinks/petra/anything (with the added fun on the way home that taxi drivers don't know where it is - cue a stressful return!). Breakfast wasn't included and definitely wasn't worth the 5JD+tax they charged, but there are no alternatives nearby. The staff were unhelpful and intimidating. We booked a king room with mountain views; got twin room with gas station views and no apology. The bathroom has a huge window looking into the bedroom so you'd better be very close to your travel companions! There's an inadequate blind but even for spouses this was embarrassing and inappropriate and turning on the bathroom light lit up the whole bedroom. There was no shower curtain so as soon as we turned it on, the shower flooded the bathroom, and the flood did not drain. They did not clean the room so we had to wade through cold water whenever we needed to brave the bathroom. I can't really think of a good reason to stay here with so much competition. It was cheap, but once you add all the taxis (2-6JD each time), and breakfast, and taxes and service... Maybe there's a better option?
Review 16:Beds were comfortable and whole hotel was clean (though bizarrely they didn't clean our room!) The free wifi worked 75% of the time.
Review 17:No women in the work force! The front desk manager also does the Turkish scrub... a little awkward. Basic commodities such as shampoo were not available,
Review 18:The view, comfortable clean room.
Review 19:I decided to have dinner there without asking for the prices and they overcharged me! And also they offered me a drink which I find it on the bull as well !
Review 20:The room and the hotel r good the location is far from the gate but the staff helped me by picking me up !
Review 21:Staff was very courteous without being overly attentive the room are well taken care of the bathrooms are clean and modern the room have hang and Olufsen TVs the cave in the loopy offers comfortable seating couches chairs table multiple configurations the patio lounge is great place to enjoy atea or shisha outdoors in nice weather.
Review 22:Sink leaked badly and staff put the bath mat under the sink but did not even bother to to give us another one. Then we found out there was no hot water, staff said run the water for 10 mins, there was still no hot water. They fixed it only the following day. Wifi was non-existent for the 2 days we stayed, even in the lobby. On check out, they tried to over charge us, when I contested, they said tax was not included in the price. They asked me to show them the booking info, I said if there's wifi I can pull up the invoice. Miraculously, they let us connect to another private server.! Then I pulled up the email to show them tax is included, then they asked if breakfast is included. Despite all the things that didn't work during our stay, they never offered us to switch to another room and still tried to cheat us on check out. I read that the hotel is newly renovated, which I think it is, but all the basic things are not working and the staff is totally inept as far as customer service is concerned. We had a very bad experience and I would stay away from this hotel. There are many other choices in the area.
