Reviews for Petra by Night

Review 1:Wifi difficulties.

Review 2:We actually weren't on Petra by Night but on Petra Night , which is a 4 star hotel. Our driver let us in from of Petra Night hotel, and gently the manager upgraded us as both hotels are from the same company.

Review 3:The heater didn't work, so we must change room many time. Finally we got the room. We had booked a room with a view but we got the back wall view.

Review 4:The bed is very comfort and clean.

Review 5:The bathroom was very bad rebuilt. The toilet every time we use it had a really bad smell. The wifi signal is really poor.

Review 6:It's a cozy hotel, well located if you have a car to go to Petra. The room was nice: tv, AC/Heat, comfortable bed, very nice. There was a huge glass in between the bathroom and the room and you can see everything from outside but with a blackout in case you want privacy (weird). The rest great, the people was polite and they offered us some discounts as a courtesy.

Review 7:We originally booked rooms at Petra by Night but our driver brought us to Petra Nights by mistake. We ended up getting upgrades because both hotels are from the same company, best part was we paid the same price as booked online. The hotel is clean and comfortable plus, the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Totally recommended! :)

Review 8:Slightly out of the way to walk to Wadi Musa shops and restaurants but only a cheap taxi ride if you want to look around!

Review 9:Slightly strange one this as I don't think the hotel we booked actually exists so you turn up at Petra Nights hotel and they say you can stay there instead for no extra charge which is great as it is a pretty high quality hotel for the price- the dinner was fantastic (additional charge but worth it) and also the breakfast was huge- they are a new outfit so the hotel is quiet but that was nice to rest up before 8 hours at Petra the next morning! Oh also free drop off to Petra gate is an absolute win!

Review 10:The hotel is situated slightly far from Petra. It is not easy to find, taxi driver drop us off near "Petra Nights", at the same building on the main road. We had to walk up the hill about 200 m. Some mosquitos.

Review 11:Nice staff,- very, very helpful. Quiet, clean linen, comfortable beds, hot shower. We have not any problems.

Review 12:It was hard to find the good combination of hot and cold water in the shower.

Review 13:There is a moment in every trip were human contact is more important than any room. If you add the the bed is really comfortable, the place is quiet and you get to meet Ibrahim, then Petra by Night is your place. We had the greatest talk with Ibrahim over some Turkish coffee and some Jordanian tea. He told us about his travels in the Arab world, and you could feel the passion he felt when describing Mecca, or talking about his fellow Arab brothers from other countries. He made it all the way to Morocco before going back. We'll never forget that conversation, and we really enjoyed our stay.

Review 14:The hotel guy, Ibrahim, was really nice and helpful. The room was clean. Ibrahim drove us down to Petra for free and made a stop for us at an ATM along the way.

Review 15:I loved everything.. nothing negative

Review 16:The staff are friendly. The manager Ibrahim is an amazing guy. They actually have two hotels. One is Petra by nights and another one is Petra Nights. Our booking was in Petra by nights however we reached Petra Nights and Ibrahim told us to stay there as we first came there. He didn't charge us anything extra and it is a luxury hotel. I highly recommend this hotel and will always stay there when I visit Petra which I surely will. The rooms are very very clean, bathroom is amazing. They have TV in room with many channels, It is a short distance from Petra, about 3 minutes drive and also has a nice view of whole valley. They gave us a lot of information about Petra. Ibrahim was so friendly that he refused to take money initially because it was our last day in amman. He said we will need this money to buy sweets for family... But Insisted and he accepted.

Review 17:Nothing.

Review 18:Everything. I would like to thank you Mr Dheifallah, the Owner and Manager for the courteousness showered on us. He did not have the desired Room available when we reached the Hotel, so he gave us Family Suite which had 2 separate rooms with best facilities in terms of decor, comfort and luxury in his other Hotel, Petra Night Collection. Although the unavailable room was also good but this was sheer luxury and comfort as a family for us. He was very open to state that WiFi is not working and he is sorry for not providing the desired room and therefore providing the Luxury Family Suite (check Petra Nights Hotel - Family Suite price in Booking.com) which is 3 times the rate of the Room we had booked.

Review 19:When we arrived the guy told us that we had to pay 5 dinars more because of taxes. We showed him the reservation from booking.com where it says that all taxes are included and then he respected the original price. The hostel is a bit far from Petra itself, you have to walk 20 - 30 min up the hill.

Review 20:The people that work there are very friendly and helpful. They also let us leave our stuff at the hostel the next day without any charge.

Review 21:I don't think I have written a bad review of anywhere and the man at reception asked me not to write one. So all I will say is steer clear, very clear.

Review 22:Very little. The bed was well made.

Review 23:TV didn't work, wifi very spotty. It's a bit of a hike from the center of town/Petra but it's manageable.

Review 24:Staff were very hospitable and kind.

Review 25:Very clean and well presented. Hot water working well, fridge in the room, air conditioning... Location is not amazing but there is a free shuttle to Petra so it doesn't really matter that much.

Review 26:It was a bit far from the center of town and Petra, but we had a car so it wasn't an issue (I think they shuttle to Petra as well if you do not have one). Also the bathroom was a bit small, but not prohibitively so.

Review 27:Everyone is so friendly! Definitely have a cup of tea with the guys upstairs. The personal touch they give to the stay experience is incredible and we got a lot of great recommendations. We had a lovely view of the city as well. It's also a great value for Wadi Musa.

Review 28:There is free Wifi but you don't have access from within the room. You've to get either up in the lobby or at least go to some location on the floor outside the rooms.

Review 29:Dinner is quite good for the price (homemade food)

Review 30:Staff was very helpful and booked for us the bus to Wadi Rum, hot water, the room was clean, excellent dinner and breakfast, very good value for money.

Review 31:The room had nothing in it. No towels, toilet paper, it was very cold in the room. It took about 25 minutes before the water would run hot, after running the tap, the shower and flushing the toilet. There was no WIFI, which would usually be ok, except since it said there was we then needed it to figure out driving directionsand contact information.

Review 32:The owner was friendly and helpful. If your just looking for a cheap bed to sleep in, this place hits the spot, but that is all you will get.

Review 33:- Hard to locate: above an un-finished hotel

Review 34:- Incredibly reasonable price for Petra - Stunning views over valley & for sunset - Helpful and friendly staff

Review 35:Wifi was only available in the lobby the night I stayed.

Review 36:The room was clean and facilities were new. The room was equipped with cable tv and a/c. Ibrahim who works there gave me all the information I needed about seeing Petra. He even made us a to-go breakfast pack since we were leaving early morning to see Petra.

Review 37:......

Review 38:i visited Petra the last month & stayed at Petra by night hotel for 3 days , it was a good experience to stay there ,clean rooms , good services , delicious Arabic food specially Mansaf , i wish more improvement & success for them .

Review 39:There is no sign for the hotel and the number listed wasn't working. We spent over thirty minutes looking for the hotel and finally had to pay a taxi driver to show us the way.

Review 40:Petra by Night was clean and adequate for our needs.

Review 41:The hotel is a little far away from the middle of town and the Petra gate, but it is nice and quiet and you have a great view of Wadi Musa at night.

Review 42:The staff are very helpful and friendly, they helped me settle a dispute with a dodgy taxi driver who called in the tourist police to claim a grossly inflated fare. The rooms are nice and clean.

Review 43:The toilet stench a bit

Review 44:Very cose to the archeological site, very nice hammam and great food!

Review 45:The staff were amazing and very friendly, nothing was bad in particular compared to the money paid

Review 46:The owner of the hotel was very kind, friendly and very helpful I enjoyed staying at Petra by night hotel !

Review 47:Cleanliness and service could be improved.

Review 48:Good view

Review 49:There is no free service around here.

Review 50:Some staff are nice. Depends on the person.

Review 51:Very small bathroom, smelly air conditioning

Review 52:Close to Petra

Review 53:The bathroom wasnt clean and had no toilet paper.

Review 54:Smelly room not so friendly staff Poor location It is part of hidab hotel but named as Petra by night

Review 55:Nothing

Review 56:The bathroom did not have a shower head and the room was fairly unlean, stains on the bed linen.

Review 57:The location is good and it was cheap.

Review 58:24hours hot water and heater!! Because here is so cold at night! There is electric kettle !!

Review 59:Good quality beds, helpful staff, hot shower, nice and quiet room.

Review 60:The price of the meals

Review 61:Friendly staff Well located Room quiet and pleasant

Review 62:very small room and bathroom, annoying noise of some machine or so all day and night, WLAN only at reception

Review 63:nice owner

Review 64:Good price, nice staff, location not in center of town.

Review 65:The location wasnt strategic, it was very hard to find bcos the place didnt hv any signboards. The front desk manager was not friendly, neither was he accomodating. We had some problems with our room and he didnt attend to it immediately.

Review 66:Clean bedding, cosy small rooms and very nice view of the town from the room.

Review 67:They told Booking.com we were a no-show for some reason. Very hard to find first time. No shops around. Really only feasible if you have a car. Shower curtain does nothing to protect the bathroom from being soaked. Hair in the drain caused shower to flood on the first night - it was fine once I cleaned it.

Review 68:Very friendly staff. Great sunset view from the room. Comfy beds. Good hot water. Fridge in the room. Parking spot.

Review 69:Just 5 min by car from the gate to Petra. Great value for the money. Very comfortable beds, the staff is always helpful. I am happy we stayed three nights.

Review 70:The wifi connection is only in the Lobby. The lobby being small and being very tiny including the outside sitting area is limited in its seating to number of people. The wifi connectivity in room area of the hotel makes it easily feasible for users to use it in comfort of their rooms. Just a router need to be placed in the Room areas corridor.

Review 71:The rooms are very cozy and well done for the rest and the peaceful night sleep. the facilities of coffee and tea is free in room. the television is excellent with lots of variety. the cleanliness in Room is very good. the room size and bathrooms are well perfect for the number of people inside the rooms. All in all the staff is very friendly and helpful with any extra help always available at the prompt needful hour without being asked for. All in all the best in peaceful sojourn.

Review 72:Wifi only worked in reception and was slow at the best of times. Made planning our day difficult but we could use it. Hot water takes a good 15 mins to warm up but he warns you about that. Tiny bathroom but you get what you pay for. It is out of the town but we had a rental car so moving around wasn't that difficult.

Review 73:We felt extremely welcome the moment we arrived. We like budjet accommodation and it had all the basics plus the view overlooking the town was amazing. Just magical. Stick around for the sunset when the mosques come alive. The reccomended upside down dish was great and he was happy to cater for fussy eaters at breakfast. Really appreciated the owner warning us about local scams and he was right every time- especially about the petrol station at the bottom of the hill.

Review 74:It's not practical to walk to and from Petra from here. One of the rooms hadn't been cleaned before we arrived. None of the rooms were suitable for families with young children and things like melted electrical leads and the state of the electrical wiring concerned me. It's also noisy with a large pump or ventilation system clunking on and off all night long.

Review 75:The staff were accommodating and helpful. They were willing to drive guests several miles to the entrance of Petra. The view is nice. The relative proximity (2 miles?) to Petra makes it tolerable when nothing else is available.

Review 76:Hotel not at walkable distance (but not a problem as hotel would arrange transportation for free).

Review 77:Staff really helpful and friendly. Sorted all transportation and food to visit Petra easily. Rooms small but quite convenient with WIFI, AC, flat screen TV. Really good value.

Review 78:There was only wifi in the common area and was a little slow at times.

Review 79:The staff here are wonderful and very helpful. They arranged all our trips for us. They helped arrange a surprise birthday cake and wine for my Husband, which they even paid for! The evening meals offered here are delucious and plentiful! Dont be affraid to ask for seconds there is always enough. The room was great. Free tea and coffee Great location to watch the sun go down Daniel was a great guide for Petra visit. Free shuttle to Petra

Review 80:- very noisy rooms due to water pomping sytem just on top of the rooms, should stop during the night, unless someone uses the water in one of the rooms.. - no real common area, only a very small room acting as entrance/living room/ kitchen - half of the rooms have windows in front of ... another wall, due to the slope - bad smell in the bathroom

Review 81:- location: at the entry of Petra make it easier to park, and give a nice view over Petra

Review 82:- Internet (was very bad) - Comfort can be improved a little - It was a bit far from the rest of the town (and the gate to petra)

Review 83:- Location (view) - Value for money - Friendliness of staff - Traditional Breakfast

Review 84:Location is a bit far from gate and it was always a hassle to get a driver to take you for 2 JD. No wifi in rooms. Staff was less enthusiastic to help after we turned down their wadi rum tour option. Not a big deal but was noticeable. Shower was a bit annoying as it didn't stay in place and leaked. Would expect better at a new hotel.

Review 85:Great value and clean. Much cheaper than most other options. Staff was helpful and welcoming. Breakfast looked good and we wished we had done it there to save money.

Review 86:I cannot big this place up enough. The guys at reception could not do enough for us. As soon as we sat down we were offered tea and coffee every time. If I needed to work on the computer (wifi only available in the reception at present but plans to change this) they left me alone and just plied me with tea. The price was so good too. Fridges and kettel in the room and the beds really comfortable: I am 6ft 4ins and i fitted. We stayed four nights and only had planned two. I highly recommend this place.

Review 87:Room smelt like smoke. Would have been nice to have a sign on the road.

Review 88:Cheap prices! Comfortable bed, nice sheets. Air con available. Hot shower.

Review 89:I found accomodation price reasonable but dinners (12JOD/ 15 US ) and breakfasts (6 JOD/ 7US) expensive, but Jordan is overpriced in this way. Many establishments of the guest house kind ( such as Petra by Night) and petrol stations for that matter do not accept credit cards. Make sure to have a lot of cash on hand or you might find yourself up the creek.. I mean wadi.

Review 90:I liked the location - away from the hub of Petra. Great sunset view. . Other than that great hiking at Dana nature reserve on highway 35 close to Petra.

Review 91:Small new hotel with a stunning view over the Petra mountains. The roomsare bright and clean with free wifi, tv etc. Many facilities including an excellent restaurant, (sun)terrace, parking. The friendly staff guarantees the proverbial Jordanian hospitality. A very pleasant place to stay

Review 92:No name of the hotel, transportation by taxi to petra gate

Review 93:clean,comfort,friendly staff

Review 94:Great place to stay

Review 95:staff waiting outside to bother us to buy things all the time. Neighboors steal wifi recover from the dock and plug in their dock

Review 96:Rooms
