Reviews for Tetra Tree Hotel

Review 1:The staff could use improvement. No smile, some clueless, and most looked like they didn't want to be there.

Review 2:Facilities were clean, nice, and modern.

Review 3:Unfortunately the terrace (and pool area) was closed while there - but in their defense it is winter time and cold out.

Review 4:Hotel has fantastic views from lobby, rooms & breakfast area. The nice rooms are very clean and have comfortable beds. Excellent Wifi signal throughout the hotel. Really short taxi ride to visitor center. Owner and staff very attentive and helpful.

Review 5:Nothing

Review 6:Hotel is very clean, infrastracture new and comfortable, people working at the hotel extremely helpful. Breakfast also very good. Nothing to complain about, just bear in mind that it takes around 30 mins to walk to Petra visitor's center.

Review 7:There were a series of weird moments. The room door doesn't lock when you close it, but locks but after several tries. Make sure your door is locked when you leave. The heater unit is not big enough for the size of room. We were a little cold. The electricity in our room went off in the middle of the first night. The fire alarms went off several times the second night. It was blamed on a smoker in one of the other rooms.

Review 8:The view from our room was fantastic. The hotel sits on a hill facing the town and the mountains of Petra Park. The check-in was easy. Breakfast was well-stocked with many options.

Review 9:Hotel facilities are not as expected, We are mature couples who doesn't have marriage certificate issued yet and that prevented us from staying in one room,we couldn't access the rooftops, slow services, showers are not efficient

Review 10:the rooms were clean

Review 11:Breakfast buffet wasn't so good

Review 12:The reception was very helpful and informative. The room is more comfortable than we expected and really worth the price

Review 13:The bed was dirty, had stains on the bedsheets. No towels in the bathroom so had to request these after we checked in. Location was a little further away than advertised - the hill is fine when you're going down to Petra in the morning but it is very steep to walk up. If you negotiate you can get a taxi for 3JD to the top but probably worth the money to stay somewhere at the bottom to be honest.

Review 14:They provided a packed lunch for us for only 5JD so we could have something to eat whilst in Petra

Review 15:The manager is so lovely and helped me book tours. I also used their airport collection service which was amazing, especially as I arrived at 2am. The beds are so comfortable. Such amazing views.

Review 16:The towels were so old they look grey. One of them smelled of mildew. It would have been nice to have more variety of fruit for breakfast besides oranges. I saw that they had them for dinner (which I ended up eating elsewhere).

Review 17:Good location and good value for money. Comfortable bed. Pleasant staff.

Review 18:The meals.

Review 19:Excellent location, friendly staff, comfortable and big room. As a suggestion improve the breakfasts and the meals. However we had an excellent time at the hotel.

Review 20:N/A

Review 21:Great location. Beautiful view of Petra. Quick check in and very nice staff members. If I go back I would definitively stay here again. Excelent breakfast! Thank you.

Review 22:It Was my birthday when I stayed at tetra tree and the management went out of their way to spoil me with a cake and a special trip to watch the sunset with friends. It was very touching.m

Review 23:The staff was nice. Comfy bed.Great view into the mountains. They have lunch boxes that are very handy, just make sure everything you ordered is in it!

Review 24:Very friendly and helpful staff, especially the owner is great!! I liked everything. Better to have a car as the walk from the hotel to Petra entrance is about 15min.

Review 25:Although the hotel look new some maintenance is required. In my bathroom the bide wasn't fixed in the floor. The sink of the basin was blocked... minor thinks that could be improved.

Review 26:Very spacious room and bathroom. Comfortable beds, quite location. Very nice view from the rooftop. Good breakfast.

Review 27:bad facilities in the room - sink was loosing water, towel holder was broken, towels were smelling bad, bad view from our room, some plates weren't clean at breakfast, bedlinen wasn't completely clean

Review 28:nice and helpful staff, view from the rooftop, extremly delicious food

Review 29:Mould in bathroom sharp edge on shower screen cut myself Bath slippery needed hand rail for safety Wifi didn't work very well in room Breakfast not very good

Review 30:Good parking new hotel but not finished staff didn't speak good english

Review 31:Nothing remarkable.

Review 32:Beautiful Room, and amazing view from the rooftop. You can also have dinner on the rooftop (buffet - 12 jd per person). Petra site : 15/20 min on foot and 3 min by taxi (2-3 jd) . Great Value for money.

Review 33:Wifi speed was slow. Wish they served better breakfast !!

Review 34:The GM was kind and thoughtful. He brought a cake as it was my birthday and gave a complimentary dinner at the hotel roof top. That was super awesome .. the gesture and the venue. Staff were helpful & cheerful .

Review 35:Tetra Tree was a lovely place to stay for a short trip. We were a group of 4 travellers and we received a very warm welcome from Ibrahim, who made every effort to help us with what we needed and he ensured we had a very comfortable and rewarding stay. I would recommend staying here without any hesitation.

Review 36:A bit far from historic Petra, but easily accessible with a car. Would be nice if the pool had more sunlight on it but still nice.

Review 37:Nice roof top restaurant and view of Wadi Musa. Very friendly and helpful staff. Comfortable bed. good food.

Review 38:Towels were a bit old/worn out.

Review 39:Friendliness and helpfulness from management and staff. Comfortable bed, bedding and relaxing chair in room with a beautiful view of Petra.

Review 40:The general manager Ibrahim and all staff are always ready To help - the hotel is really well managed Amazing roof top view for dinners Nice swimming pool Really really good breakfast

Review 41:very good staff. we hade adiscount from boking so the price was very good for what we get. paid 35jd per night with brakefast. location 10 m walking or 2 m driving from torist center.

Review 42:Horrible breakfast selection. No one was available to serve or make eggs. No juices but tonnes of glasses sitting there. The room was decent but the bathroom was in appalling state. The toilet seat that had some toxic looking green liquid around it. The sink was blocked. The handles of shower and sink were falling off. All in all, a very disappointing stay.

Review 43:The view from my room.

Review 44:The hotel is located a bit uphill from the entrance of Petra. If you plan on walking there bare this in mind.

Review 45:The room had an amazing view over Wadi Musa and the mountains in the back. The bed was large and comfortable and the room had a very nice lounge chair. The hotel has a roof terrace where you can dine, good buffet but slightly expensive. Overall great price-quality ratio.

Review 46:The way the reception handled our one week ago booking was pathetic . this is in Aug 2015.. We were told that only twin bed were available inspite of booking 1 queen size bed prior. Then he went on to show us 3 single bed room ..when I threatened to walk out he gave us a room. This property should be 1-Star rated. Please don't get fooled by the pictures of the room. Don't know on what basis Darren Huston & Gillian Tans have given a 8.3 rating.. Don't deserve that rating... Should be 5 to 6 max

Review 47:The location and the terrace restaurant is fine

Review 48:The wifi was a bit slow, but it was alright

Review 49:My room has an amazing mountain view, the pool was perfect and the staff were really helpful. And they have an amazing restaurant at the roof with really beautiful view of the whole city underneath

Review 50:Nothing.

Review 51:Really much nicer than I expected for the price. We also got the boxed lunches for our trip to Petra and they were perfect. Wonderful rooftop for the sunset with shisha and dinner.

Review 52:The staff of the hotel are very friendly and they have given us much help. Otherwise, the loof of the hotel is great and people can view the city on the loof when drinking.

Review 53:We locked up in the elevator for a min. Total in darkness. Emergency button and calls didnt work.. The lady said "i dont know"..never said sorry..:(

Review 54:Clean as pictures.. Close to the main enterence of Petra.

Review 55:Pool was too cold and not too clean, housekeeping didn't come up to make our beds etc even when we asked them to, but this didn't really affect our overall great stay

Review 56:Very friendly, chilled out staff that helped us out a tonne whenever we needed it. Great rooftop with a beautiful view and cheap shisha. Nice big room with really comfortable bed and a TV. Everything was spotless and comfortable

Review 57:On check out, I was overcharged by a night. I didn't realize until I had left, and had to come back again to resolve it. The staff were helpful, but couldn't work out how to refund the overcharged amount. In the end they gave me cash instead of crediting the card I had used. I had also booked this hotel because it is one of the few hotels in Wadi Musa with a pool. I was disappointed to discover that the pool was very dirty (cigarette butts and dead cockroaches floating in it).

Review 58:The room was pleasant, with a great view to Petra.

Review 59:location, Although good for view was not near the entrance.

Review 60:very nice room . Good bathroom. Swimming pool, although a bit cold when we were there. Bed was very comfortable, breakfast was very nice and available nice and early.

Review 61:My lunch box didn't quite contain the things I had selected from their list, but I realized on time and they corrected the mistake. Toilet flushing was a little tricky at first, but eventually worked... After hiking in the sun for hours walking home to the hotel is quite a far way and uphill. But many taxi drivers offer their services for 3-6JD - negotiating makes sense. ;-)

Review 62:The Tetra Tree Hotel is about 20-25 minutes downhill walk away from the entrance to breathtaking Petra. It's not the closest hotel, but offers an amazing view over Wadi Musa and the mountains that hide Petra. The room's windows are huge, bathrooms are clean and convenient. Staff is helpful and friendly. Hotel offers lunch boxes to take to the trips to Petra - which makes sense, since food inside Petra is rare and expensive.

Review 63:Dinner was horrible and overpriced, you only have 1 option which was barbequed meat and chicken, i don't know how you can mess up barbequed chicken, but it was all tough and tasteless.. we each had 1 piece and paid 12JDs/person.. plus the service is very slow, it took them more than 30 minutes to bring us 6 cups of tea.. When you check out, make sure to calculate the total of the bills yourself, i had checked out and paid for the three rooms, but when the third room came down to hand in their key, the guy at the reception told them that he had miscalculated the total and we still owed 15JDs, we ended up paying and leaving because we were running late, but i then realized that what i had originally paid was the correct amount, and i was charged 15JDs for nothing.

Review 64:Comfortable beds, clean rooms, amazing view, good option if you're just staying overnight

Review 65:I had to ask one of the front desk personnel several times to translate what he said to my friend in Arabic so that I could understand what the issue was they were talking about. He ignored my request bluntly and carried on speaking in Arabic (I knew that he spoke English because he spoke one sentence to me in fluent English).

Review 66:The view from our window.

Review 67:- About 1/2 an hour walk from Petra entrance. Or 3 minutes by car. It's anyway preferable in Jordan to rent a car if you don't want to be fighting with taxi drivers all the time. - This is not a critic but a hint for the hotel owner: get a wooden baby chair in the breakfast room!

Review 68:What more do you need in a hotel? Clean, big and modern room and very friendly staff.

Review 69:Breakfast ok, not outstanding. For a continental taste, limited choice. Plus: freshly prepared eggs/omlette on demand.

Review 70:Newly renovated place decorated with taste and attention to detail. Very clean with very nice bathroom / shower. Recommend! Additionally, great roof top terrace where one can watch the sun go down over Petra. You should go!

Review 71:The staff was great and the family room was perfect for our family of six. Good location only about 1.5 KM the from Petra entrance and close to good food.

Review 72:Not easy walking distance to Petra entrance but staff sorted out taxis for us.

Review 73:Ebrahim and his staff were excellent - no request was too much to ask for. Beds were super comfy, rooms quiet and clean. mountain-facing rooms had a stunning view over Petra - despite the water tanks on the roof opposite the hotel.

Review 74:We were on the second floor and the wifi wasn't great in our room, the signal and speed wasn't ideal, but there was some. Other than that we can't complain.

Review 75:The space of the room was fantastic, we had a triple room which was significantly larger than any other hotel had to offer. The beds were unbelievably comfy, we all had 2 amazing nights of sleep. The breakfast selection was limiting, but there was something for everybody and enough to keep you going for a day of adventuring.

Review 76:Sometimes the electrical supply shuts down - no fun if you use the lift. The hotel is placed several meters higher than the city center of Wadi Musa, not the best place for tired feeds after walking the whole day in Petra. There is no shuttle to Petra - you have to call a taxi for 2-3JD per direction.

Review 77:Friendly staff, good rooms, Very good view to the hills of Petra

Review 78:The hotel should be 5 stars and not 3. The staff and owner are super friendly and will help you with anything you need. Rooms are spacious super clean nothing missing and great views!! We loved the breakfast and buffet at the restaurant and learnt that they will open a restaurant on the rooftop soon! 5min drive to petra entrance and near all restaurants and commodities.

Review 79:Nothing!

Review 80:Spotless rooms, newly built and big comfy bed. Hospitality second to none. The food was great - generous portions and tasty. And to top it off a great view over Wadi Musa to Petra and a vibrating massage chair in the room!

Review 81:Everything was perfect, nothing wrong to say!!

Review 82:The owner is so nice and very helpful,i will never forget his hospitality!!everything you need,he can help you and find a solution!!amazing!!

Review 83:what I didn't like is one thing, you can hear everything through the wall of your room.

Review 84:I think this is the right place , great view, very good staff, kind and helpful , the place is clean and rooms are very comfy

Review 85:The staff were friendly, provided assistance in arranging trips and helped ensure it was a relaxed and enjoyable stay. The location is ideal, within a 5 minute taxi ride of Petra. Clean, big rooms with comfortable beds. Pulling back the curtains to the mountain view is breathtaking. The food was also excellent.

Review 86:WiFi was sometimes weak in our room; check with reception that they have the correct number of days you are staying when you check in.

Review 87:The staff was so friendly and always smiling. There were many hotels closer to Petra city but if ever I return I would book at this same hotel.

Review 88:we booked a deluxe double room- the shower was small and looked rusty, with missing tiles, the sink was leaking, we had a permanent pool on the bathroom floor, no wi-fi in the room, broken bathroom door, swimming pool and sauna not functional, not to mention the breakfast with its juice and coffee!

Review 89:nothing

Review 90:We had a nice time in Petra at Tetra Tree. The room was perfect, way over our expectations. Totally worth the price paid. The view from the breakfast room is breathtaking. A++

Review 91:The only one who spoke english was the owner, with the rest was difficult to communicate. The sink kept licking for two days. Wifi was very weak in the room, but good in public areas. We also had a small argue with a taxi driver they called for us who was telling us that the price we agreed was per person and not per trip and the guy at the reception kept his part.

Review 92:We loved the hotel and the room. We had a beautiful view over the mountins. They have a nice breakfast room and the food was fine. The hotel looks like a 4 stars hotel and the price is very good.

Review 93:The showers were great and the beds were super comfy. The hotel is very modern, sleek, and comfortable. The staff were extremely hosptable, even before we mentioned we knew a friend of the general manager.

Review 94:Breakfast was a bit poor, lots of options, but not necessarily good quality ones (vegetables looked not so fresh, jam was very artificial, coffee very weak), wi-fi did not work that well in the room

Review 95:Great view over the city from our room, the big armchair with foot rest, big comfy bed, reasonable price

Review 96:A wonderful view of the Perra area from the massive windows in the spacious public rooms and from the bedroom. The owner of the hotel is hospitable, generous and interested in his guests. Nothing was too much trouble. So much of the success of our Petra trip is owing to his help. A quiet and comfortable hotel, good breakfast, magnificent views but just a short drive to the visitor centre.

Review 97:The room was very spacious and the interior modern and clean. Nice view over wadi musa/petra and comfortable bed. Big breakfast buffet. Nice lounge.

Review 98:Cold shower majority of time Lack of wifi in room Cleaner was promt to clean room BUT not only left our door open so anyone could enter, but forgot the towels which were the one thing we wanted Was only told on leaving that they only accepted visa not MasterCard!! Asked about bus to return to border, no information was given and instead was convinced to take friends taxi where further miscommunications occurred due to having to find an ATM

Review 99:Size of room was large Bed was comfortable The manager did his best

Review 100:The hotel is simply amazing, is located just up to the downtown with an awesome view of WadiMusa. The rooms are really confortable and fully equipped. The staff is very kind, warm, efficient and friendly. We were stuck in Petra for the snow and they helped us to sort the issue out and they were really friendly. Ibrahim is very kind and tried to make ourselves at home. Lovely place & lovely staff.

Review 101:Heater not working too well and Wadi Musa was quite cold in Dec

Review 102:Nice basic hotel in a nice location. For the price I paid including breakfast was definitely worth it

Review 103:It is not walking distance from the Petra. The return from the walk from the market would require quite a hike back since the hotel is at the top of a steep slope. Was difficult for the older guests.

Review 104:The hotel was very comfortable, clean and a great value for money.

Review 105:Very far from the Petra Gate. Staff is a little incompetent. The hotel is new but finishes are terrible. The shower was broken. The breakfast was very poor, there was no buffet because there was no people in the hotel ¿? They forgot to make up the room, to change the towels and to give new coffee and tea.

Review 106:The room was the best thing, quite and comfortable, the matresse was great! Anything more.

Review 107:The location is in the city entrance; you then have to pass the Wadi Musa city center and Petra at the end of the road; you will need a car to go to Petra or get taxis as it is more that walking distance from the hotel to Petra and the terrain is quite hilly.

Review 108:The staff was gentile. The room was ample and comfortable; the bathroom was or looked new.

Review 109:Smelly bathroom because of the pipes. Wifi didn't work.

Review 110:Amazing room good breakfast. Good views of the mountain. Good location and service. Really clean. From here to petra pay maximum 1 dinar!!!

Review 111:They gave us 4 different passwords for the WIFI as they could not remember which one was the current one. The sink and shower did not work and had to be fixed but once we asked the issues were fixed very quickly. The breakfast quality was quite bad though - they seemed to forget to replenish things - like coffee so if you arrive at 9.30am you don't get any!

Review 112:The view was spectacular The rooms were quite big with good quality linens and a nicely sized bed

Review 113:Location. It is on top of the hill so you need to walk 5-10 min to get a dinner, and climb back to the hotel. After a tiring day in Petra, it is not an easy task.

Review 114:Other than the location, I cannot think of any bad points about this hotel. Clean and large room, comfortable bed, excellent view, a swimming pool, and kind staff. Very good experience here!

Review 115:A young staff that could use more training, but they were wonderful and did everything they could to help us.

Review 116:The view of the city and mountains of Petra and modern hotel. Everyone was very accommodating and kind. I love the outdoor pool after a hot day at Petra.

Review 117:Hotel was nice and clean. Staff friendly and helpful, although men need to be a little more discreet with the blatant perving on my girlfriend. The breakfast was good. Pool freezing. Bed comfy. Bathroom and toilet room smelt of dead animal. Although I enjoyed my stay there I would be very disappointed if it wasn't 47% off when I booked. Long way from Petra gate and not many restaurants close by. Attention to detail is lacking. Still a nice place with great views but could be better.

Review 118:First day, tv didn't work, initial person sent, wasn't sure what to do. First morning had no water, they had no solution, I had to give them options. Took them over an hour to come and another hour to fix it. Ants in my bathroom ( I was on the 4 th floor). Very poor breakfast, 2 nd morning there was no breakfast set out and I was there at 0800. You have to walk a ways to go anywhere to eat. Nice view but not walkable to the gate of Petra and taxis want 10 JOD for the 5-7 min ride.

Review 119:The beds and pillows amazing, had an excellent sleep. Hotel has been redone at least the lobby and rooms

Review 120:The free car park is just a 3-4 cars space

Review 121:The room was big, with a huge bed, amazingly comfortable chair and beautiful view on wadi musa. Breakfast was very good and the staff very polite.

Review 122:Everything was perfect!

Review 123:We travel six times a year, and have never come across such genuine great customer service and hospitality. No request was too much. Beautiful spacious luxurious rooms for a fraction of the cost.

Review 124:5 min drive from the visiter center of petra which is not in the service, 2 daysvisit of petra means 4 times approx. 12 euro! no shuttle service from the busstation to the hotel

Review 125:Very nice and friendly stuff, breakfast excellent, nice beds, nice rooms, price is totally fine

Review 126:... the WiFi was down for 2 days. When you are travelling from here to there, you do want to have internet access to check bookings, maps, roads, etc... that was an inconvenience. I read some reviews and apparently it's happened before. The location could be better. It is on top of a hill. Luckily we rented a car so it was OK. It is a 5 min drive down to Petra. Plenty of parking just in front of the hotel.

Review 127:For the rest, our stay was very pleasant. Helpful staff, very comfortable beds, airco, breakfast, etc. I'd recommended it. Good price for value.

Review 128:Staff were not honest and failed to return change. Internet was down for three days during our stay (although it didn't affect any other hotels in the area) and staff didn't seem to care.

Review 129:Big clean rooms, good location, hearty breakfast.

Review 130:I loved everything.

Review 131:The facilities were incredible! Our room was huge and the view from the window was great. The staff was really helpful and treated me and my couple more than excellent. There was a pool, a jacuzzi, and a table to play pool. Although the jacuzzi was not working properly we enjoyed all of them.

Review 132:Shower water was always cold

Review 133:So close to Petra
