Reviews for HI - Akko Hostel
Review 1:Situated just inside the northern edge of the old city of Akko, the hostel is ideally situated as a base for roaming the shuks and alleyways of this enchanting city. Also close enough to access the beach end even walk to the nearby Baha'i gardens (about 3km away).
Review 2:Being a hostel, it could be noisy at times and the coffee maker is also the hot chocolate maker which made the line long! The positives of the hotel far outweigh this small inconvenience.
Review 3:Hostel is in a wonderful location with amazing views of the old town. Our room was huge and very comfortable. I had an accident and could not leave my room but the restaurant manager set me up with a huge breakfast in my room and checked up on me for the days after I could walk again.
Review 4:Not really meant as critique, this place remains - and rightfully so - a youth hostel. That means that you may run into rather noisy groups of youngsters during your stay. However, the rooms are quite well isolated :-)
Review 5:We had a premium room with a huge terrace. The room was very nice and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was very nice.
Review 6:Hostel cafe not open in the evening. Acco shuts up quite early in the evening in the low season. Not many good cheap restaurants
Review 7:Spacious rooms . large public areas. New building pn the edge of old city
Review 8:The desk guy gave us no info and directed us to a visitor center. We looked for a restaurant in the evening and everything was closed or empty. We came back and saw there was a restaurant in the hostel.
Review 9:The room was large, clean and a great location.
Review 10:We enjoyed staying at this beautiful hostel and found the combination of new building with old archeological elements fantastic. It is situated right near the Citadel where one must see the Underground Crusader City. Breakfast was very good and we would recommend this hostel to anyone staying in Acre.
Review 11:Not very obvious to find the hotel 'cause there's no sign or name on the building. But actually it's just at the entrance of the old city:P The room is mostly very good and tidy, but I found a baby cockroach on the bed :'( For breakfast, the dining guy and waiters are not friendly 'cause we're late as we thought it will open until 9:30 which is in fact 9 o'clock.
Review 12:The room and balcony are great!!! And the gentleman at reception is really kind and helpful.
Review 13:As its a hostel popular with school groups, inevitably there are a lot of energetic, high spirited teens staying who can create a lot of noise! Kids will be kids but we were kept up until 2.30am with kids running around, banging doors and soundproofing isn't great. Thankfully, the very helpful on duty security guard sorted it for us.
Review 14:- cleanliness - quiet and effective air con - facilities inc tea / coffee making - v helpful staff - location - room size
Review 15:Almost nothing to dislike except one of the three clerks manning the reception was rather unwelcoming: when we were checking out, we asked to leave our car for a few hours parked at the hotel - which was we were told we can do when we booked the room. Contrary to that the clerk insisted that we move the car out even though the parking was empty. We had to ask for the manager to settle the problem. Which she did. When we came back in three hours our car was still the only one in the parking
Review 16:I cannot rate the hostel we stayed on top floor in one of two suites. These rooms are spacious brand new with the access to rooftop from the room. The roof top provides breathtaking view of Akko walls and harbor. Breakfast is very good - great variety and well served. Stuff in the restaurant is very welcoming. Nice feature - enclosed parking.
Review 17:Name of the place is actually different than the one in booking.com It's youth hostel, so a lot of kids were running around.
Review 18:Booked a dorm bed, but got a room for myself only. Great place near Akko old city.
Review 19:The guy in front desk was very impatient (night shift,24/02/2015).The check out time is ridiculously early. but the most unbeliveble thing is there are no hair dryer in this hostel! Ladies you have to prepare your own if you choose to stay here!
Review 20:really good location, right in the old town, and the bus stop is just next to the hostel.(No.3 bus , from the Akko train staion to the old town) . room is very clean and spacious.Breakfast is amazing.
Review 21:When we arrived at hi Akko Hostel we were not able to find parking onthe street. So we called the reception desk and told them. Ali, thefront desk attendant, was so nice, he let us park in the hotel’s staffparking lot.We did not expect such a nice room for the price of $US 80.00 per night but we got one. The management gave us a hotel room on the top floor of the hotel. This is a rarity for us with regards to hotel accommodations. The room was very spacious, clean, and comfortable, too. It was furnished with a king sized firm mattress for us to sleep on and a computer desk to write on. In addition our hotel room had a lot of widows to bring light into it. They all had a panoramic view of the old city of Akko. Included in it was a patio with table and chairs to sit at and enjoy the views. We were additionally entertained with nice cable channels, which had fun family friendly movies to watch on the television. The breakfast at HI Akko Hostel was fantastic. It was like going to an "all you can eat" smorgasbord free of charge. There were all kinds of fresh foods to eat as well. Cheeses of various sorts, corn, potato salads, coleslaw, eggplant salad, raw vegetables, pickled herring, salmon sushi, tuna, hard boiled eggs, soft egg omelets, brown and white breads, fresh grapefruit, oranges, and pineapple. And there were a lot of comfortable sit down tables to eat at. This hotel has some Akko history literally in it. There is an old aqueduct going right through the breakfast room. It was built during the 19th century to bring water to Akko. The hotel itself is made out of stone, which gives it a nice ambience in harmony with the rest of the old city of Akko’s historical ruins. We wanted to stay longer but the hotel was booked.
Review 22:Hard to find if you're looking for a sign for "Hi-Akko Hostel" -- look for the Knights Hostel, since those signs are more visible.
Review 23:The terrace, the location, the staff
Review 24:I loved everything.
Review 25:The location is incredible, super easy to find -I walked from the train station- and all the sites are near by. The breakfast is absolutely delicious. The place is clean and safe.
Review 26:Twice people entered the room, which is highly annoying sometimes. Should have some *do not disturb* signs, that would solve the inconvenience.
Review 27:Excellent location, right in the entrance to the old city. Big, clean room, everything is very clean and nice. The included breakfast is exellent value for money, and overall experience was very good.
Review 28:The front desk could be a bit more custmer oriented got a room with HEAVY SMOLING SMELL. Tried to air it out for hours - no succsess.
Review 29:Location, relatively clean Great breakfast, security officer kind.
Review 30:Staff let us call our friends on the museum kibbutz to let them know when we would arrive. They also gave us better day trip travel advice for faster train and bus trip. Breakfast was awesome!
Review 31:none
Review 32:it can accommodate 4-5 people for a triple room, and very close to the gate of old city, both room and lobby are beautiful, and very nice breakfest.
Review 33:The porch had not been cleaned, & the chairs & table were too dirty to use. However, by the next day they were clean, so i say let's give them good marks for fixing the problem.
Review 34:The breakfast was very poor no. Deloutose food except the eeg was tast good
Review 35:Ilike the plase its near the old city meusem andthe sea also thers plase to park
Review 36:Somewhat institutional but that is part of the point -- they serve young people in droves in addition to hosting adult travelers.
Review 37:Location was great -- close to Old City and downtown. Light and comfortable. Amazing breakfast, especially if you love cheese and meat.
Review 38:could be a bit cleaner, no parking- a bit difficult to find a close parking on the weekend
Review 39:very friendly staff, excellent location, comfortable bed, great view, good breakfast. highly recommended We stayed with two babies and it was very comfortable and the room was spacious.
Review 40:Check in time is too late and check out time is too early. Can you make it to 2pm/11am?
Review 41:I can't find a better hotel in Akko in so perfect location (just at the gate of Akko old city) and so good price and, more importantly, soooo amazinh breakfast!!!
Review 42:Liked everything.
Review 43:I liked everything youth hostel guest house was like a 5 star hotel.staff was so helpfull friendly .food was fab double room we had plenty space .in centre near beach , shops, great will go back again ,excellent.
Review 44:Would have liked more literature in English on hotel and the area in general.
Review 45:Could compare favorably with any 4 star hotel anywhere in the world. Great breakfast even a hot buffet which was not expected - although the hot food could have been a bit hotter. Very well positioned for sight seeing etc. Cleanliness and ambiance outstanding.
Review 46:it does not have a pool
Review 47:We stayed with 3 teenaged children. The third floor rooms have great views from the balcony. The rooms are large and comfortable.
Review 48:terrible WiFi - I was unable to use it in my room and had to go to the lobby each time I want to surf in Internet
Review 49:Big room, great breakfast, lovely balcony
Review 50:The hostel was too big and the breakfast was not great.
Review 51:Location couldn't have been better adjacent to the old city. The rooms very simple but quite large and the balcony was huge with amazing views of the bay and old city.
Review 52:I really wasn't expecting such incredible facilities. Spotlessly clean, TV and coffee (in the dorm!). Terrific breakfast buffet, too. The drawback is that it is always hosting groups of very loud youth groups, so don't expect much peace and quiet. For that I would still consider staying at a smaller local place.
Review 53:The staff was helpful and took care of my family amidst a large crowd of youths, by providing us a separate and quiet place for breakfast.
Review 54:Great stay. Hotel amenities at hostel prices. Great location - short walk to anywhere.
Review 55:WiFi in the room sometime is a bit slow
Review 56:Perfect, like a hotel with a hostel price
Review 57:None at all
Review 58:Position is perfect and overall great value.
Review 59:We had an excellent experience at HI Akko. The food was very good and the staff was incredibly attentive. Hope to stay here again

Review 63:Our room and view were amazing

Review 65:Excellent location. Big rooms with balcony. Breakfast included.
Review 66:Youth groups that frequent the hostel can be noisy.
Review 67:Location and breakfast.
Review 68:WiFi poor!
Review 69:Pricy but very good hostel. Stuff was a bit rude, maybe a cultural thing.
Review 70:Fantastic location opposite the Old City. Large clean and comfortable rooms with a large balcony (we were on the 3rd floor)
Review 71:Everything just great !
Review 72:WLAN connection in the room very poor. But worked well in the lobby
Review 73:Great Hostel, with perfect location
Review 74:A bit sterile. No real atmosphere.
Review 75:Top location in the old town of Akko. Everything in walking distance. Clean and modern rooms. Good breakfast.

Review 84:The bathroom and the room could be a bit cleaner....
Review 85:We liked the location, the breakfest, the size of rooms and the athmosphere.
Review 86:Nothing!
Review 87:Most excellent location - directly across from the Citadel. Very clean and remarkably quiet although there was a loud wedding going on right behind the property it didn't bother us. The balcony was enormous, air conditioning worked, and the bed was extremely comfy!
Review 88:WiFi didn't work on balcony There was a wedding party with loud music directly opposite our balcony, so it was difficult to sleep early
Review 89:Location within the old city walls Large balcony Most elaborate breakfast we've had in Israel (except perhaps for Ein Gedi Kibbutz Hotel)
Review 90:Nothing really
Review 91:Close to everything, very spacious and light. It has even been built around old ruins. The breakfast was very good. They put us away from the kids who generally were noisy (well it is a youth hostel). Beds were comfortable, air-conditioning was quiet and most rooms have a balcony. If you have a car they provide a 50% discount at the parking lot.
Review 92:Big double room. New modern facilities. Great staff attitude, even to100 snot-nose spoilt school children. Well done. Walk out the door andeverything is just there.
Review 93:No WLAN Not always someone at the reception. At night you should call a phone number to have the door opened.
Review 94:It is like an extremely sober 4 star hotel for a 2 or even 1 star price. Very good buffet breakfast included. Perfect location. 100% recommended
Review 95:Nothing. This is an astounding accommodation.
Review 96:Ali Ali was a most inviting and welcoming face after a long day of travel. His welcome to Akko was endearing, and he went beyond the 'call of duty' make our stay more than hospitable. Ali extended a warm welcome, which makes all the more reason for us to recommend Akko and the hostel to our friends.
Review 97:Absolutely nothing.
Review 98:Excellent location right at the beginning of the old city. A pleasant modern structure, great and spacious room with a beautiful private terrace. Amazing! A must when visiting akko
Review 99:The breakfast only provided till 9 am, make it longer a little bit would be perfect
Review 100:It's a hostel, and they make me feels like a hotel. They recommend the taxi from Ako train station cost 15 NIS. Everything is nice!!
Review 101:We were not able to get an map of the city in English anywhere. The staff at the hostel had a very poor command of english. Ran out of food for dinner.
Review 102:The closeness to the old city shuk and historical cites.
Review 103:Crowds of young teens overran the hotel with little supervision.
Review 104:Beautifully designed facility in the old city with ancient walls incorporated into it.
Review 105:This is one of the best kept secrets in Israel. An excellent hotel for young and old, a great location and a great price! We'd go back in a flash. Craig Seattle
Review 106:Too noisy from all the kids that stay at the hostel. You would have thought these kids had never spent a night away from home. Certainly no fault of the hostel although the hostel should hold the chaperones responsible for maintaining order. I've never seen kids so out of control in my life.
Review 107:We thought the room was spacious and the balcony a real bonus. Location was fantastic being so close to the old city. The breakfast variety and quality was exceptional.
Review 108:Nothing.
Review 109:Hotel is located within the walls of the old town. You've got splendid view on the old town. Old stones all round you. The building has got a nice design, boutique hotel style. Remains of old aqueduct and archaelogical remains in the courtyard. The room is spaceous, fully equipped. Breakfast is copious. Parking is in front of the hotel and free. We were delighted.
Review 110:Amazing hotel, a site of interest in itself. Location was outstanding, walking around the hotel was wonderful. Well kept, good amenities and a wonderful breakfast!

Review 113:Beautiful new large room with a private balcony overlooking the old city walls and close to the sea.
Review 114:Conveniently located. Comfortable rooms. Helpful staff. Rich breakfast. Loved the incorporation/protection of medieval structures resulting from excavations in the building, and making them accessible to visitors.
Review 115:Located just at the edge of the old town of Akko this modern hostel offers clean and spacious rooms. Rich breakfast completes my very good overall impression.
Review 116:This place is awesome, at the entrance of the old city, free parking inside, dreamlike large and comfortable rooms, good breakfast. Can't find anything negative. This is THE place.
Review 117:Lots of kids, so be prepared for a bit of noise, but they were never a nuisance. We were never bothered by them, and can't see it as negative.
Review 118:Clean, spacious, great location. Amazing breakfast, nice and helpful people.
Review 119:- weird system of wi-fi which was disconnecting all the time on the phones and didn't connect on my laptop
Review 120:One of the best stays in Israel so far: - good price - perfect location just outside of the Old City wall - clean, spacious double room with everything you need - amazing buffet breakfast
Review 121:Everything was perfect
Review 122:The hotel is absolutely fantastic. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable, breakfasts are delicious, location couldn't be better. Special thanks to the wonderful staff - when I needed a doctor for my baby receptionist organized everything for me in a second. He even assisted me to a clinic! I have only one word to describe the hotel - PERFECT
Review 123:The only think I did not like is that wifi did not work in the room. They said it would, but in reality did not. It works perfectly at the lobby area though.. Other than that everything was fine!
Review 124:Very big rooms, everything new, the staff very helpful and polite! The hotel is in a perfect location, just few minute walking from everything you want to see in Akko, walking distance from the beach as well!!! I defnitely recomend it !!!
