Reviews for Hotel Caldin's

Review 1:One night we cannot sleep, tv from room next door was too loud. Hairdryer is to old takes time to dry my long hair. No breakfast included.

Review 2:Complimentary tea/coffee with cookies and water kettle. Perfect view of the Cathedral of Chioggia. Room is clean.

Review 3:Shower and toilet are sharing the space, so you can do have one while sitting on the other :) There was a mosquito net so I imagine staying here in summer can be tricky

Review 4:Friendly family running the place, each in their own unique way an individual, a nice large room on the top floor as requested, with a view of inner courtyard, lift complete with instructions for silly tourists, sunny balcony, adequate bathroom, situated in a residential building so one feels like being a local, parking in front of the hotel for free, a short stroll from Chioggia centre and from the ferry towards Pelestrina / Lido / Venezia. Cafe round the corner.

Review 5:Our host was informative and very helpful, advised us where to eat and what wines to partake in . The seafood in the area was the best I have eaten. Loved the little town of canals and hotel Chalin's

Review 6:A little more clarity on how to find it would be useful. Our GPS became frazzled by the one way streets. The hotel is a little run down on the outside but very clean inside. No view form our room but a great outlook from outside the hotel.

Review 7:I liked the tips the owner gave us of out of the way, less touristy places, to dine. Amazing! We were able to park right outside the hotel against the canal for two nights.

Review 8:Paper cups and plastic stirers. For a hotel we would expect crockery .. no English channels on tv

Review 9:Location the town is very cool and we liked the space we had and it was relaxed

Review 10:Nothing really - knew in advance no breakfast (plenty places nearby). No WiFi but several cafes near had free wifi. Each set of 6 rooms is on self-contained area so some noise from doors to be expected (but not a late problem whilst we were there).

Review 11:FANTASTIC value for an excellent location. Right in centre but also quiet at night. Everything worked, everything was clean, aircon brilliant, hairdryer, restaurant suggestions spot on. Free parking outside (not easiest as canalside and narrow but nonetheless right there)

Review 12:Nothing

Review 13:Really liked the hotel the room was comfortable though there is no view from my room. Set very close th the canal and within 200 meters of a coffee bar and close to pizzaria. For those like me who found Venice far to hectic this is a real little gem of a town

Review 14:far from the sea, wi-fi works badly in the room, no breakfast

Review 15:good location, nice view from a window - on the church, which booking present as a picture of a hotel, supermarket ia a nearly next door and pizza takeaway is on the same street, tea-kettle and friege in the room

Review 16:Bad WiFi, no good for work. Also no breakfast (no, a biscuit and Nescafe don't qualify as breakfast).

Review 17:It's convenient in a very nice city. Staff are helpful.

Review 18:Beds a little hard (typical for Italy), and décor/quality is 2*. No milk with tea-making kit.

Review 19:Service and location great. We were able to park outside. Wonderful view from our large, warm room. Chioggia is 'real' Italy. Handy for 1hr water-taxi to Venice. Clean room & en-suite. Amazing value!

Review 20:- Basically no breakfast included (just a kettle and tea/coffe bags and some snacks), but it's not a big deal since there are a lot of bars all around.

Review 21:- The position is very central, with a view on a typical canal. - Staff really friendly and helpful, they gave us suggestions about where to eat typical food at good prices and also how to move around Venice. - Room and bathroom were kept clean and tidy during the whole stay.

Review 22:There wasn't anything I didn't like

Review 23:It was easy to get to from train station. Nice walk to main area. I also liked how quiet it was. It was great value money wise.

Review 24:Let's start! The receptionist was just continually drunk! Couldn't get a civil word out of him at all. Why advertise you have WIFI throughout your building if it is non-existant! I must admit that the room was clean but that's about all it had going for it! Once again , there was information about an English Channel on the TV! No! Non-existent! The electric jug in the room didn't work and as for the safe!! Why have one if there are NO!! Instructions on how to use it! And to add insult to injury, both nights I was there, I had to listen to the TV in the rooms on either side of me! I do realise this was just a 1 star property but at least a little respect would be nice!!

Review 25:OK! I must admit that the location of the hotel is perfect! Full stop! Nothing else even rates one star!

Review 26:There was a lift but not operational. So we had to walk up two flights of stairs with our luggage. The aircon was not switched on. We asked why, and were told it was off.

Review 27:Quiet location but very close to shopping and restaurants. Nice view overlooking the canal and cathedral. ATM right next door.

Review 28:Chioggia is in fact "Little Venice" so parking is aproblem, but at hotel will be given to you a"Parkingcard"issued by Comune di Chioggia so you can park safely you car onmarked public places free of CHARGE.Furthermore, ringing bells of IlDuomo can give problem to someone but look that on charming way,at theend you are in historical city!

Review 29:Positioned in downtown of Chioggia,at front of Il Duomo, built A.D.1100.Excellent starting point to visit Venice or by bus or by car and spendtwice less as in the city of San Marco. There is no breakfast in hotelbut only, but really 2 min.away, there is Corso Italia with typicalItalian"caffe bar"where you can enjoy excellent "caffe-brioche"

Review 30:the air con unit was not very clean and there was some horrible noise i had to complain about in the night which kept me awake 2 nights, this was sorted. The air extractor in the bathroom did not work and as it had no windows this should be fixed. The TV did not work.

Review 31:staff are quite friendly and remembered me from last year and they let me use one of the hotel bikes to get around on

Review 32:The shower and WC combination: the WC and shower shared the same space, so after taking a shower, the WC was all wet.

Review 33:Possibility to park for free almost in front of the entrance, walking distance to all attractions of Chioggia. The owner recommended us perfect places for an aperitif and for breakfast. Breakfast is not included but at pasticceria Flora nearby we had perfect capuccino and an excellent Italian croissant for very reasonable price.

Review 34:It was clean but I thought the room was dark and depressing. The door to your room is what used to be the main door to an apartment and the guest rooms are the former apartment rooms which have been converted. You open the main door then find your room door, but you only have one key, so this means if you have two people in the room, you either have to stick together or somehow keep the main door open, which isn't a good idea for security reasons. The staff was a combination of very helpful/diffident (with the helpful person being very helpful and the diffident person being quite diffident). Most of the rooms don't have any elevator and the ones that do still require you to go up a flight of stairs to get to the elevator which takes you up the rest of the way, so if you have someone with mobility problems, it's not a good choice. Some rooms look out onto a canal and beautiful church but ours looked out into an ugly internal courtyard.

Review 35:Good location.

Review 36:The town is called to start the day with loud bells next to the room -(not all rooms had this unexpected alarm call - ask for a room at the back if you are in no hurry to wake up)

Review 37:room in a block of such rooms - reasonably priced for a great location with restaurants in easy walking distance - lots of Italian style all around - and helpfull staff

Review 38:location, friendly staff, atmosfere

Review 39:Small room; no elevator. Parking troublesome

Review 40:Location O.K

Review 41:Very clean and comfortable. Very handy location.

Review 42:Room dark and very dated, no facilities to get any drinks or food.

Review 43:Location good, room serviced every day. Helpful and pleasant owner.

Review 44:It is not a hotel is a pension, old furniture and room, no wifi, very expensive for the service provide

Review 45:nothing serious to be mentioned

Review 46:nice apartments, large and cozy close to railway station and supermarket, good location in general friendly staff

Review 47:No breakfast possibilities.

Review 48:The location is right in the centre, price is very good for a clean and comfortable room.

Review 49:Parking was good, good situation near by historical center, very good personal

Review 50:Owners insist we pay for 2 rooms after they made a mistake at check in, English non-existing

Review 51:Location

Review 52:The location on a canal was quiet, yet close to the main street. Secure bicycle parking was available. Wi-fi signal was strong.

Review 53:Clean, quiet and comfortable. A short walk to tavernas and boats to Venice, and very reasonably priced for the area.

Review 54:Shower over toilet. No place for breakfast.

Review 55:Price

Review 56:Great central location on a canal. Bike friendly.

Review 65:No breakfast available

Review 66:Perfect location, very good price / value

Review 67:-

Review 68:Personnel very friendly and helpful. Rooms big and clean, and for Italy important, well heated in winter!

Review 69:Very small rooms with thin walls so you sholud be prepare for the noise of neighbours!

Review 70:Sea (canal) view room, free parking, free but weak wi-fi.

Review 71:very close to the center friendly staff high-speed wi fi

Review 72:friendly staff, great location

Review 73:nothing.

Review 74:staf very kind, gave us key for garage for the bikes, car in front of hotel.

Review 75:not the greatest of views from back room

Review 76:Good value for money in this area and tea making facilities provided

Review 77:It is simple and no-frills, just like Chioggia. If you want luxury at twice (or more) the price then stay in Venice.

Review 78:The hotel doesn't look much from the outside but inside and it is nice with a pleasant view. Aircon was OK, bathroom was clean. The lovely owner told us everything we needed to know about local restaurants and ferries before we could ask. Nice café at end of street for breakfast. Exceptional value.

Review 79:Nothing to speak of.

Review 80:We stayed at Caldin's for one night, and would go again. It is very good value. It's situated facing a picturesque canal, on the other side of which is Chioggia Cathedral. One-star because just rooms. Our room was pleasantly appointed and comfortable, and both the room and the ensuite facilities were spotlessly clean. The owner in reception was very welcoming, helpful and informative. Lack of breakfast there didn't matter. We recommend the Italian breakfast at nearby Marconi bar. .

Review 81:Upon arrival manager very welcoming, offered assitance with baggage. Room exceptionally well appointed considering only 1 star status??? Free, secure parking available Excellent location for visiting Chioggia Exceptional hotel considering star rating

Review 82:airconditioning outsite the window (noise). not a very romantic place.

Review 83:a good location for excursion to venice (boat and bus). nothing special to the appartment, but sufficient and clean to stay. Chioggia is a nice village to stay

Review 84:there was nothing I disliked.

Review 85:the hotel was really quite nice. The staff are helpful and friendly. You can even hire a bike at the fraction of the cost which is the best way of getting around Chioggia & Sottomarina. The old part is really quaint and interesting and lots of little bars and Restaurants cafes and the like, The food was very good too.The hotel was nice and quiet at night

Review 86:This hotel doesn´t have a parking place (in bookinig.com is written, that it has!!!!), no service, It is hotel "for one night".

Review 87:The room was clean.

Review 88:What I did not like has nothing to do with Hotel Caldins. The people of Chioggia are very unfriendly to visitors. There were a few decent residents which helped.

Review 89:Hotel Caldins is located on a canal in Chioggia. They call Chioggia Little Venice. It located about an hour south of Venice. Lorenzo and his son Faustino were very helpful with providing information about tours etc. It is very comfortable for a 1 star, had a phone and safe in the room. Sottomarina is about a 15 minute walk away.

Review 90:noisy! the rooms were converted from the rooms of an apartment, so thin walls and no isolation

Review 91:the location is perfect, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom is really small but fully equipped

Review 92:WiFi in room doesn't work, no Air Conditioning, shower curtain doesn't protect toilet!
