Review 1：It was a damp day when we arrived and they had a lovely fire going in the fireplace in the sitting room. The owner and staff are very accommodating and always greet you with a smile.

We didn't experience any language problems despite our total lack of Italian, our room with balcony faced south with terrific views over the lake. We were on half board and thoroughly enjoyed the food on the fixed menus.
Review 5：Getting luggage to & from not easy due to narrow stairs & no lift. A mini fridge in the room would be a good extra.
Review 6：Family-run hotel with extremely courteous service & superb food. We upgraded to a suite which was very spacious & well-appointed. In our 3 nights we had 2 lunches & 3 dinners, all very good.
Review 7：We were allocated room 10, beside the reception area, which can be rather noisy at times. A room with a view would be better. Also be prepared for a steep climb or a taxi ride from the lake to the hotel - it is a long way from the lake side. Extra charges for breakfast items - €1.50 for a boiled egg; €4 for scrambled egg.
Review 8：Excellent service, deserving of more than the three stars. Food very well prepared and served and the staff were extremely helpful. The proprietor took trouble to speak the language of guests and always addressed me by name - a thoughtful and considerate point. Away from the bustle of the lakeside areas with its own swimming pool.
Review 9：The owner was too pushy selling his restaurant each morning at breakfast for that eve. If you didnt eat in his restaurant he would then ignore you and be offish. We ate twice in the restaurant and not the best food. No air con or fridge in room.

Review 19：A 10 minute walk from the port, you have a great view and wonderful hosts. The restaurant is excellent and we ate there each night. Mario, the host is fun and lively. Excellent wine knowledge. You feel like family. This is the perfect spot for discerning travellers who don't feel they need to be in the 'tourist trap' location, but don't need 5 star.

Review 22：As noted on the plus side, the hotel is a bit further from Menaggio than I expected and not an easy walk.
Review 23：I was concerned at first that the hotel was a bit remote and I wouldn't enjoy making the drive up the winding road after dinner and couple of glasses of wine, but after the first dinner, it was restaurant of preference and had no interest in eating elsewhere. Not only was the food excellent, particularly the gluten free menu, but the restaurant manager was one of the friendliest, most helpful restaurant heads I've encountered in years of travel. He knew all the guests by name and spoke with each several times in their own language several times during the meals.
Review 24：Only the 2nd bus driver on the trip back up the hill. Unlike the 1st one who had a discussion with his passengers about the bets place to drop us off, the 2nd would only stop at the official stop, and made us walk the extra 400 metres. There is nothing about the hotel to dislike!
Review 25：Good hotel, with very welcoming and helpful staff. Lovely terrace to sit and look down the hill across the lake. 30 minutes after our arrival we were virtually blown off the terrace by a storm which then lasted for 7 hours. Everyone was individually rescued by our hostess with an umbrella to get us back inside. That's service!
