Reviews for Amra Palace International Hotel

Review 1:they call us every morning to come to the breakfast at 9am because they close at 9.30 when we was eating the dinner we got all the plate of the menu on the table i think they was hurry that we go

Review 2:very nice hospitality of the responsable and the waitress but the woman at the desk... not the same goood location simming pool ...

Review 3:We had to take cold showers for the first evening and first morning; the problem was communicated but it wasn't solved until we clomplained for the second time. Wifi connection was really poor, sometimes non existent. Food wasn't great.

Review 4:Beautiful old hotel. Clean and great staff.

Review 5:We would have enjoyed an evening glass of wine on the terrace with its lovely ambiance, but this is a dry pub. We arrived by car/driver, so being in Wadi Musa rather than Petra wasn't a problem and we were happy to eat in the hotel restaurant (rather than walk down uneven road to find other options). We enjoyed swimming in the indoor hotel pool, even though it would enjoy a renovation.

Review 6:Sitting on the terrace at sunset listening to the call to prayer, watching the sun set through the minarets of the nearby mosque and sensing the drama of Petra's historic ruins only kilometres away are special memories.

Review 7:Very clean and comfortable place to stay, when visiting petra.central und fine equipped ,execellent meal and breakfast and on top a good hamman after a long day in petra.best Hotel if you can't afford the movenpick :-)

Review 8:The restaurant service could be improved. Also control of pets in the meal area. The entrance is challenged for elder or disabled people - stairs was the only way up to the lobby and rooms.

Review 9:Location. Walking distance to amenities and a short drive to Petra

Review 10:A little bit stinky at bathroom. Provided only one bath towel per person.

Review 11:Very friendly staff. They arranged a taxi to the airport stopover at Dead Sea for 100JO. Buffet dinner was amazing just for 9JO and buffet breakfast is included. Wifi connection was great.

Review 12:You have to be early at breakfast, I did not get real bread, all out, just toast at 9:00.

Review 13:Part of downtown Wadi Musa, quite side street, very good staff, close to Petra, close down cafes and restaurants in downtown area

Review 14:More a comment on the clientele than the staff - in the dining area observed a coward slapping and yelling at his very young daughter (less than 7 years old).. It is hardly the hotel's fault how the guests behave, but hard to imagine it happening at a more upmarket place

Review 15:Hotel is not at Petra gate, but still in a good location with restaurants, shops etc in walking distance, plus scheduled shuttles to and from petra. They provide maps and lots of information to visitors, options for tours (wadi rum), options for buffet dinner, packed lunches etc. Nice touches for people coming to visit Petra. Nice pool. Staff are very welcoming.

Review 16:Extremely helpful staff, willing to arrange one-off tours; shuttle to petra; swimming pool; great buffet breakfast. Very pleased with the value received. English, French, Arabic and Tagalog spoken (and probably more) by the staff

Review 17:The room was perfect and the friendly staff helped us to have the greatest experience in Jordan in Wadi Rum. The hotel is one km away from Petra but for 2 JOD can easily get a taxi. This hotel and its breakfast buffet deserves your stay there!

Review 18:Little problem with the sink that did not get fixed even we asked for it. the rest was fantastic

Review 19:Well alocated and good quality. Great dinner for reasonable price.

Review 20:The rooms are a bit small. Our AC didn't work very well in our first room. The breakfast was not amazing, but it got the job done for being free.

Review 21:The price was well worth it. The staff was very helpful and nice.

Review 22:It was really dirty. the bathroom was so dirty it was almost black. The carpet was disgusting. The breakfast was horrible, ver poor choices. The wifi was so slow. Stay somewhere else if you don't want to ruin your holidays.

Review 23:Nothing

Review 24:Lack of ventilation in bathroom. Occasional noise from noisy guests in corridor -- not the hotel's fault though. Maybe a "Please stay silent" sign could help remind everyone.

Review 25:Speedy check in. Shower worked. Clean bathroom. Comfortable bed. Nice view. Sufficiently close to restaurants in the evening and small shops to buy food for the day hikes.

Review 26:You will need a transportation to Petra site.

Review 27:It's our second time in that hotel. The stuff are amazingly generous. We had a birthday and they made us a cake. If you are looking for a great service in a lovely hotel - this is it.

Review 28:Bathroom was old and no that clean.

Review 29:Nice Staff , great dinner and breakfast. They also provide lunch for 5JOD and have a free shuttle bus to the entrance of Petra. Good wifi

Review 30:You should take in account walking distance to the gate od Petra (about 15 min down of hill (up by the way back). But they have transfer some times a day + you can take taxy for 1-3 dinnar.

Review 31:Good fresh food, dinner is cheaper then in restorants near the Gate and rich. The Hotel have good Turkish bath (15 dinar). Big, clean room, convinient bed. Bus station and foodmarket is 100 from the Hotel.

Review 32:There was a very warm welcome from staff. Breakfast was excellent, eg warm milk for the coffee was a super touch! There was an efficient shuttle down to the Petra site. Lovely garden & terrace. Big comfortable bed. Great value.

Review 33:No tea/coffee making facilities in room and café is full of smokers. Shuttle bus doesn't always go as advertised.

Review 34:Warm and comfortable room. Heated pool.

Review 35:Bathroom was a little tired and the water pressure wasn't very good. We found an old pair of socks hiding under the window, it seems the rooms could do with a little more cleaning. Unless we were given a poor room, I am amazed how this hotel has the score it does.

Review 36:Very welcoming and observant staff. Dinning room was well staffed and plenty of choice. Hotel is a 10 minute drive from the entrance.

Review 37:Noisy - you can hear other guests talking loudly and doors opening and closing when you are inside the room, the toilet made a lot of noise when flushed, shower only gave hot water intermittently for short periods of time, hotel's front of house staff trying to push you to take up their (rather expensive) desert camping experience in Wadi Rum, shuttle bus to and from petra was not available initially and was only provided after we insisted.

Review 38:Swimming pool, nice restaurant with good choice at breakfast, extremely comfy beds which were wonderful after a lot of walking in Petra.

Review 39:the towels are showing signs of rather old age ......

Review 40:liked it all, super super staff, especially restaurant and food and beverages manager jacuzzi and pool was good too

Review 41:nothing

Review 42:We loved everything about this hotel. The staff were fantastic, the hotel very good. The breakfast was good and the dinner was simple, cheap and lovely.

Review 43:Staff commitments are not always respected (bus transfer). We had to ask several times to turn on the heater in the room.

Review 44:Restaurant buffet is generous and tasty. The availability of a warmed-up pool is a plus. The Turkish bath is great and staff very experienced. Good value for money.

Review 45:No alcohol. Overlooks the main mosque, so a little noisy at times (if you have the window open)

Review 46:Good facilities. Cheap buffet dinner, though limited choice. Very cheap and efficient laundry service. Pleasant staff. Good breakfast

Review 47:Nothing, everything was great.

Review 48:Best accommodation experience in Jordan, good price, warm and helpful staff, good breakfast, excellent choice. Definitely be back.

Review 49:Bathroom smelly More distant from the main entrance to the park than other hotels Food is mostly the cold storage variety. Didn't seem fresh

Review 50:Hotel is average. Great view of the Petra cliffs

Review 51:I payed cash my bill. Both men at the reception saw that because I even told them that they had forgotten to charge the minibar. When I was in Wady Rum, a Beduin told me that he heard that I had left the hotel without paying the bill. Very angry, I called the manager who apologized...

Review 52:I very much liked the hotel, felt fine and comfortable during my 4 days stay. It is great value for the price. Unfortunately, there are big differences concerning the staff.

Review 53:- a bit far from Petra, about 2 JD for taxi one way - turkish bath service is poor - swimming pool is pretty cold (in the evening time of November) even it's said it's warmed - small toilet room, tiny bath - facilities in the room are old (cracked toilet tank, AC did not work)

Review 54:- helpful staff - good food for a dinner buffet, breakfast could be better though - clean rooms - comfort bed

Review 55:- The food buffet (dinner), was quite plain, yet expensive; - There's a mosque really close by the hotel. The double glass windows keep most of the noise out, but if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs (I did and it wasn't an issue).

Review 56:- Location: a few minutes drive from the downtown/Petra area. Very convenient when self driving, less when you're not. Free parking; - Spa: very nice touch and cheap; - Bed: best sleep in Jordan; - Staff: very helpful. Knew everything, (even brought away my broken shoe to a shoemaker, had it fixed and returned, and afterwards refused to take a tip for the transport/service); - The overall quality of the room was very good; - Cheap and large lunch boxes for your Petra daytrip; - They sell tickets for the Petra by night tour. We read elsewhere we could only get these from one tourist store downtown.

Review 57:From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed. Very nice helpful staff. We had dinner at the hotel both nights and it was excellent, very fresh ingredients. The pool was very refreshing after a day at Petra. Very comfortable rooms. We highly recommend this hotel.

Review 58:Elevator buttons on floor did not call the elevator if you going down. Change rates of shuttle to Petra by night, they have a price published and try to charge more. Buffet at night and breakfast very poor quality. Far from every thing, no restaurant near. The room that they give us had a water problem and we have to ask 2 times to get it change.

Review 59:Has a nice hamman that we did not use

Review 60:I'm sure the Hotel's blurb on Booking.com said it was walking distance to the Petra ticket office. I guess a 20 minute walk is still 'walking-distance' but it's a stretch!! Wifi was also patchy during my stay.

Review 61:Also, they sell tickets for Petra at night but charge a 3JD surcharge, ostensibly for the shuttle but they charge you whether you use the shuttle or not. Also, wifi didn't work in the rooms at all, only in the lobby.

Review 62:Overall not a bad place for half the price, but paying Petra prices this was only OK. Almost all staff were great but a few could be pretty rude. My wife enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi though. For one night it was fine, but worst price/quality ratio of all the places I've stayed in wadi musa. Would look elsewhere on my next visit.

Review 63:Sauna wasn't working for turkish bath No wifi in room needed to go to reception

Review 64:Staff so helpful, very friendly looked after bags for us during a day at Petra Jacuzzi nice after a long day of walking

Review 65:Back side of the hotel rooms got bad view. Make sure to have valley view

Review 66:Value for money to sleep. The hotel external area is nice and worth sitting out.

Review 67:- Short drive from Petra park entrance - Smallish room - Breakfast buffet rather limited

Review 68:+ Very helpful staff + Free parking + Good information about Petra + Fun local atmosphere

Review 69:Most of the time staff at the reception did not speak English and could not give directions or information. Breakfast was not great.

Review 70:The pool after a long day in Petra was a bonus. The quality of the bed linen was outstanding. Very good view from the balcony.

Review 71:Interiors are a little dated but fully functional.

Review 72:While staying at the Amra ?Palace for 4 days visiting Petra, I hadmechanical problems with my rental car. I spoke with a mechanic fromAlamo who did not speak good English. The hotel staff spoke with themechanic in Arabic, then performed some minor mechanical work on my cargetting me back on the road again. They went above and beyond and I willbe eternally grateful. They embody the hospitality of the Jordanianpeople in every way.

Review 73:my room was opposite side of the garden so it's really quite. But my friends room was garden side and then there is a mosque. in the early morning pray alert was coming.

Review 74:comfortable, simple breakfast. lunch box, kindness

Review 75:Breakfast a bit poor. Picnic bags should be improved. Sandwich bread very dry. There should be more variety overall.

Review 76:Very helpful and welcoming staff. Bathroom amenities very good.Very comfortable beds.

Review 77:The staff is a bit too much sometimes. At breakfast and dinner waiters walk around tables constantly and it can get a bit oppressive. Just let them know and they will leave you alone

Review 78:The staff was always there though the hotel was full. The shuttle bus is great, so are the morning and evening buffets. The hotel is charming, well decorated and the swiming pool, jacuzzi and spas are just the perfect way to end your day after Petra. Everyone was kind to us and though the price may be high for Jordan it was cheap for those services and quality.

Review 79:Rooms a bit small. Pool is neglected and has cold water, no bubblesi in jacuzzi, sun loungers broken so guests have to lie on the floor.

Review 80:Probably the best choice in Petra regarding price/quality ratio. Turkish bath quite pleasant.

Review 81:Their pool needs to be managed more closely. We had dead bugs floating in the pool. Jaquzi was not warm enough.

Review 82:Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean bed made everyday. Fair price with good location near downtown. The facilities are little outdated but they are well maintained.

Review 83:Extra services; packed lunch, shuttle to Petra & a free dinner 2nd night. Also lovely terrace & pool with great staff.

Review 84:breakfast and food quality in general is of low quality (cheap ingredients)

Review 85:They need to improve their dinner.

Review 86:Very good place for the money. Very friendly staff. .

Review 87:Cleanliness, corridors, airco, worn-out

Review 88:Staff, location

Review 89:Very friendly staff. Comfortable room.

Review 90:Location, staff couldn't help enough, great food, simply a very, very good place to stay at.

Review 91:Showers running out of hot water

Review 92:Especially liked the dinners - excellent quality and tasty food for reasonable price of 9-10JOD

Review 93:The hotel location was very good, staff friendly and helpful. Facillities v good. Foood exellent

Review 101:The staff were so helpful and made life very easy!

Review 102:The cleaness.

Review 103:Bath in the rooms was very tiny, shower worked badly

Review 104:The spa (although we would have appreciated lonher opening times)

Review 105:The poolarea is nice, but mens dressingroom is really rundown.

Review 106:Breakfast and the buffédinner was alright. Helpful staff.

Review 107:Bed quality is absolutely perfect

Review 108:Towels were pretty old and worn .

Review 109:Close to the city, and staff very helpful and well organized for tourists.

Review 118:Wifi in rooms didn't work, some furnishings seemed a little cheap or in need of update
