Reviews for Al Rashid Hotel
Review 1:Nothing.
Review 2:If not for our nice and helpful hotel manager Laith and his great help in getting through all the new and suddenly changing visa regulations for entering Jordan, we would have never succeed in being admitted to Jordan and see Petra. As these regulations are pretty new (01.01.2016) I recommend you to stay here and contact him to help you before your trip. Besides, hotel offers excellent quality/price and clean, comfortable rooms. Breakfast is delicious and abundant and there is a great picnic option in case you want to get up early and have breakfast in Petra. Thanks for all your help Laith! :)
Review 3:nothing
Review 4:Very helpful staff. They arranged the Petra by night tickets for us as soon as we came in the evening. They also arranged packed lunch for us on short notice and arranged the Taxi to get to Wadi Rum. The guy at reception was very helpful and he actually went out early to get fresh bread so we could have breakfast early on the day we left for Wadi rum.
Review 5:A bit far from the ruins, but we like walking, so it is OK. Otherwise you need to take taxi to go anywhere. The rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable.
Review 6:Great staff, good value, decent for Wadi Musa. The guys at the front desk were extremely helpful, and had very good attitudes. Absolutely recommend this place
Review 7:The bed was very comfortable and the hotel was very clean and quiet. The real star of the place, though, is the very friendly and helpful manager. He is warm, welcoming and will do whatever he can to help you have a good stay in Jordan.
Review 8:It's a bit far up the hill from Petra entrance. Not an issue if you have a car, and does get you away from the really touristy part of Wadi Musa.
Review 9:Breakfast was fantastic; not a buffet, but an entire table full of local specialties. Clean rooms, helpful staff, good wifi. We would stay again.
Review 10:Sometimes the wifi didn't work that well. And it wasn't a problem for me but maybe some people, after spending a whole day wandering around Petra, would find it very tiring to walk back uphill to the hotel, but it honestly is not far at all! Maybe 20 minutes uphill.
Review 11:Great place to stay in Petra, in the city centre so about 15 min walk to see the actual archaelogical park, nearby good food and ATMs, the staff is really wonderful and awesome (i had to leave early one day so they packed me a yummy breakfast and also helped to arrange me transport to Wadi Rum), the breakfast (when you do get to sit down and eat) is huge and delicious, rooms are very clean and comfortable, stay here when you visit Petra!!!!
Review 12:Some items in room broken. Shower floor cracked, toilet handle broken but toilet still flushed. Seemed like hotel was built quickly for tourism boom without a lot of maintenance. Breakfast very plain. Good value for price though.
Review 13:Great location in heart of town. Shops and restaurants nearby. Good size room. Comfortable bed. With adequate expectations this is a good option near Petra.
Review 14:Nothing, everyrhing was great.
Review 15:Very good service from the receptionist Laith. He helped us with our questions. good location, Nice breakfast, very clean rooms.
Review 16:The best part about the hotel was the faculty. They were extremely courteous, friendly and helpful. They arranged all our transportation and fees to most of the places we visited. I felt like they were good friends when we left. We had tea together and talked about everything. All the people we met in Jordan were extremely honest and trustful. What a terrific holiday! Thank you!
Review 17:One towel we received was dirty, looked like grease or oil had caked onto the towel somehow.
Review 18:Staff was very nice and accommodating. Any issue we had they addressed it right away. We started our day very early, and they were nice enough to pack a breakfast for us, as we left the hotel before the regular breakfast was served. Location was right in the heart of Wadi Musa. Great for what you pay for.
Review 19:The hotel was a bit noisy
Review 20:The hotel is comfortable, clean and well located in the centre of Petra close to restaurants and not too far from the entrance to the old city of Petra. The staff were friendly and helpful
Review 21:The breakfast wasn't that great as it didn't have any warm food, but I can't really complain. Another thing that I was intrigued by that they didn't ask to see the passports at check in, which is not usual in any hotel.
Review 22:This is a nice budget hotel, it's clean, well located and decent. What I really appreciate about this hotel is the hospitality of the staff. On the check out day we were going to Petra and asked for a late check put and we left the bags closed if they should remove them from the room, but we came back at 3 pm extremely tired and dusty and the bags were still in the room and we had the chance to shower before we headed up to our next location. Thanks to all the nice staff in the hotel specially the Egyptian brothers; Ahmed and Ibrahim.
Review 23:Petra's entrance is in 1,5 km. you can go there by foot, but you cannot return this distance uphill
Review 24:Very nice hotel and staff. Good quality for that price
Review 25:Thanks for laith the Hotel Manager was very helpful Person. The Hotel is in the City Center not far away from the the gate of Petra. very clean rooms and very good breakfast
Review 26:Ran out of soap and toilet paper and the shower water was very hot, even on the coldest setting.
Review 27:Very clean room, convenient location, and friendly staff. And after a long day at Petra, the air conditioning was a beautiful bonus!
Review 28:The bathrooms need some renovation although everything is working properly.Could be a bit cleaner.
Review 29:The location is nice if visiting Petra. It's a five minute drive and a 20-25 minute walk to the monument entrance. The staff is accommodating and the breakfast has a very nice selection of local products.
Review 30:The staff, Mr. Mohammed and Laith were very helpful. We arrived early in the day and were checked- in. Rooms and furniture was very well maintained. Was a great stay at the hotel.
Review 31:Breakfast was nothing special (most food was from the supermarket), but was plentiful and filling. Also, about a 15 minute walk uphill from the entrance to the park, but there are taxis you can take if necessary.
Review 32:Very comfortable room, excellent service, great value.
Review 33:a little hard to set the water (shower) temperature
Review 34:It is in the center of town. About 15-20 minutes walk to the Petra tourist center. Very quiet, spacious, and serves really big breakfast.
Review 35:No washcloth. No bath mat. Toilet very slow to refill, TERRIBLE WIFI connectivity. Not enough outlet to recharge phones.
Review 36:Very nice breakfast, helpful and accomodating staff, location, overall comfort and value for money.
Review 37:Wifi intermittent, good enough for email but not so much for Skype or such.
Review 38:Generous and tasty breakfast, friendly and respectful staff, interesting location away from touristy area and in the midst of a lively Jordanian town.
Review 39:Great price and value, I was really surprised at the quality of our stay here. My sister and I came to see Petra of course, and we stayed here. Good location, extremely helpful staff, great breakfast that's included in the price, nice simple rooms and shower. I was having issues with my bank when I arrived in Jordan and couldn't pull money from the ATMs even though I had no issue in Egypt. The receptionist was so helpful he ran across the street and got a calling card and let us use it with the front desk phone while helping us through the process and other issues we were having. Thanks so much!
Review 40:The location is convenient- the entrance to Petra is a 15 minute walk, and there are decent local restaurants across the street. It was clean and the staff were really helpful. For the price, it was a good deal.
Review 41:Good location near center, not far from Petra. Nice shower. Nice staff, very helpful and friendly. Excelent breakfast. Boa localização, próximo à Petra. Ótimo chuveiro. Pessoal amigável e prestativo. Ótimo café.
Review 42:The only negative thing was the water in the morning took a long time to warm up, but by the time I got done hiking for the day the water was steaming hot and felt great on my weary legs.
Review 43:The staff was very friendly and were more than happy to direct us to some nice places to eat. It is centrally located near a market, some good restaurants and well within walking distance of the tombs. There was a booking mistake on my part (Accidentally booked a double when all I needed was a single) They gave me the room i booked and only charged me for a single. Very pleased with the hotel.
Review 44:Short cab ride to Petra entrance
Review 45:Staff friendly and helpful, breakfast was local fare and delicious. The room was basic but recently redone, clean and comfortable
Review 46:Far from the entrance to Petra Park so inconvenient unless you have a car. Breakfast very ordinary.
Review 47:Great staff, central location. On check-in I was given a cheaper room than I had booked. Very comfortable room.
Review 48:Breakfast is OK but it's prepared only when you request it (could take 15 minutes). This wasn't a problem since very few people were there when I visited, but I can imagine it would be a nightmare if the hotel is full. There's hot AC in the room, but the hotel is cold in general, especially in the winter/spring.
Review 49:Location is good (10 min by car to the Petra site), room and bathroom are adequate, staff is very helpful (they even let me take a towel for free when I went to the Dead Sea!). There's street parking nearby.
Review 50:The room was cold and we could not get the heater to work.
Review 51:The staff were very helpful in giving us information about the area including where to eat. This was a good value for the money.
Review 52:Risk management. The hot water system broke down the last night we stayed. There had been 3 hours (since 7pm to 10pm) wtihout a solution and the staff was unable to provide an alternative. They just kept us wait eternally instead of contacting another hotel just for us to take shower and rest.
Review 53:Front desk manager very helpful and was able to provide lots of useful information.
Review 54:It was a really cold and wet weather during our stay, 1-2 C in the day and below freezing at nights. The windows are not well insulated so the cold air gets into the room. Also, they turn off the heater around 2-3am at nights so it gets even colder when the heater is off. They did give us extra blankets on the 2nd night when we asked for them, so that made it confortable enough for 2nd night.
Review 55:It snowed during our visit to Petra, meaning we stayed at the hotel pretty much all day as Petra was closed and most of the town restaurants and shops were closed. We also couldn't get out of town because the roads were closed. Despite the unfortunate weather, Al Rashid staff were very friendly and did their best to make our stay comfortable. They got us hot water for tea and extra blankets, anything we asked them they try their best to make it happen. Plus, they have free wifi in the room so we entertained ourselves by surfing the web.
Review 56:Its weaknesses are the bad wi-fi and breakfast. I hardly used wi-fi. The breakfast was very simple, and never expect it.
Review 57:This hotel is located in the city center. You have more choices of dinners after 15 minutes' walk from Petra. The room is clean and comfortable.
Review 58:none at all...everything was fabulous
Review 59:Very well run Hotel. Nice spacious room with tv and satelite..spotlessly clean...great breakfast...what more can I say...just great..on our last day we were catching the bus from the Hotel to Wadi Rum, so they gave us a breakfast to take on the bus with us...very welcome I must day...
Review 60:The room is basic and less spacious, wish if it would have electric kettle and tea bags. Only shower has hot water, wash basic has cold water connection.
Review 61:The best part of the Hotel is its Location, courteous staff and clean room. You can easily walk down hill to Petra Site. The hotel staff was very helpful in arranging Taxi for Wadi rum and Dead Sea at better prices compared to market. You have no hassle to negotiate with locals. There are lot of shopping places, pharmacy, restaurant, grocery and Bakery at walking distance from Hotel. Not to miss the complimentary mint tea which is provided by hotel at your convenience.
Review 62:Centrally located in the town of Wadi Mousa.Opposite excellent restaurants and convenience stores. Comfortable and v clean, well facilitated. The staff were excellent, extremely friendly and helpful and informative. Excellent breakfast with hummus, breads, cheese, vegetables, freshly prepared omelette and sweets. We left early on the last day and the staff even gave us a breakfast in a plastic carry bag with drinks and bread and jams inside. It was very sweet.
Review 63:Our room had some humidity problems. When we entered the first day we didn't notice it, but after having a shower the full room was totaly humind, and when we openend the curtains, we realized that there was a lot of mold in the window frame. After 2 nights there our complete baggage was humind.
Review 64:Location and staff were OK. The first day we left the hotel very early and they preprared us a breakfast box.
Review 65:Took awhile for the room to warm up - would have been useful to havethe heater turned on before our arrival - so maybe call on your wayand ask them to turn the heat on - I am absolutely sure they will dothis for you.
Review 66:Cleanliness of rooms, kindness of staff, accommodating our changingdeparture time as we navigated an illness in our group, the amazingbreakfast - great location with friendly neighboring businesses. Veryclose to Petra and they have all the info you need for your visit tothis amazing wonder of the world. Would stay here again and our daughterwho is a student in Jordan plans to return to this hotel with somefriends if she has the opportunity to visit Petra again.
Review 67:The Rooster that crowed all night long! The breakfast was slim pickings and a little boring. The WiFi did not work in our room as we were at the end of the hall.
Review 68:Great Staff, Nice Bathroom, and Great Price.
Review 69:The wifi didn't have a good signal in the room, but this wasn't a big problem
Review 70:The personnel was very friendly and helpful. No matter what time, they were always there for you. The breakfast was also very good. All in al:, a very good experience!
Review 71:new, clean hotel with extremely friendly staff. Breakfast was quite good. Very pleased and would highly recommend staying there. Good value for the dollar/pound/dinar,etc.....
Review 72:we got room above roundabout - main intersection in the village with honking traffic. we didn´t sleep well. also the desk clerk tried to sell us petra by night more expensive than it actually was
Review 73:hotel was nice and rooms renovated and clean. they arrange breakfast at 6 am for us, so we could visit petra early
Review 74:Wifi is very poor A bit remote from Petra (15 min walk down- and uphill)
Review 75:The hotel is very modern Staff is very helpful and even adviced how to deal with taxi who want to overcharge. We ask to arrange us a bus ticket to go to Wadi Rum and they connected us with other guests with whom we shared taxi for the same price as the bus Rooms are very clean, modern and spacious There are a lot of restaurants, hammam and shisha places around I would come again
Review 76:Taxi needed to access licensed bars and restaurants but taxis are cheap anyway
Review 77:Value. Cleanliness. Staff assistance. A great option for budget-minded travellers
Review 78:We received really great service from the reception staff. Extremely helpful with any of our queries and even arranged for the local bus driver to collect us from the hotel. Would stay there again
Review 79:Friendly and helpful stuff. Cleaning was good. Good value for the money. The driver Isham was friendly and willing to show us the area, take us to the Dead Sea and other interesting places for a reasonable price.
Review 80:The staff in this hotel makes the difference. Great breakfast, great rooms, and we slept really well. But the staff makes you fell as home, and really helps you in everything!
Review 81:Nothing. Just a little bit far from Petra, but we had a car, so it was not of any problem.
Review 82:I liked the style of the hotel which is designed like a cave. The rooms were clean and the staff was very helpful. We were provided with the advice on sightseeing, the manager arranged us tickets for Petra by Night show.
Review 83:they must improve wifi connection and breakfast.
Review 84:Excellent ratio quality/price. They must improve breakfast. Rooms and bathrooms very clean. Excellent choice
Review 85:The first room (#402) I was in had many problems. No water pressure (like a trickle), no shower curtain so the bathroom flooded, TV did not work, and the AC stopped working at 3 am. When I asked to change rooms, they said it was because the hotel was fully booked. But really, that room should not be rented out at all
Review 86:Laith, the front desk manager was helpful, friendly, and efficient. Yummy and filling breakfast, close to restaurants and markets. Rooms were clean, although the carpet color was too dark to ascertain whether it was clean or not.
Review 87:Poor Wi-fi connection in the room in every hotel I stayed in Jordan. Good connection if you are near the reception.
Review 88:I am impressed with the hotel facilities, doesn't look like a one star hotel, the breakfast was good, friendly staff and very helpful, good location,1.5 km from hotel to Petra entrance gate. Advisable to go by taxi to Petra entrance gate but you can walk if you like :) (walk down the hills).
Review 89:I didn't like the breakfast very much and the A/C in our room did not work. If I would go back to Petra I would opt for one of the hotels closer to the entrance gate. This hotel is about 1,5 km uphill from the Petra monument and cave bar, after 10 o'clock there are no taxis anymore.
Review 90:nice but small room with a good shower and a clean bathroom friendly staff who arranged tickets for Petra by night for us. There is a possibility to park in the street.
Review 91:Nothing that they could control.
Review 92:There are no bells and whistles but this place is functional, well placed and above all else clean. I would recommend rooms towards the rear as the street as prayer call is pretty loud and the locals like to use the horn allot. Few good places to eat across the road and about a 15 min walk or 3 min cab ride to the ticket office. Chaps behind the counter are very accommodating. Excellent value for money if you don't want to waste cash unnecessarily on an expensive high end hotel that you won't utilise fully as there is too much to fit in.
Review 93:The cockerel outside the bedroom window! What a noise!
Review 94:Comfortable beds with duvets Newly refurbished bathrooms Friendly and helpful staff Clean and welcoming Relaxing
Review 95:I liked a lot to stay here. Staff was helpful, location is good - just in front there are restaurants and supermarkets. Room and toilet were clean. I will stay again for sure here!
Review 96:Our room is very quiet, clean, and fresh. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is tasty. The hotel is near the bus station, and some restaurants, supermarkets. We can hear many birds singing together both in sunrise and sunset.
Review 97:We were ok with this, but guests should know that the walk back from Petra is up hill and can be difficult after a long day of hiking around Petra. Just an FYI that it's not the closest hotel to the site, but for the cost it's great.
Review 98:In town, close to restaurants and bus station. Very very nice staff. Very helpful and kind.
Review 99:A kettle in the room wud be very useful.
Review 100:Staff are very friendly and helpful. Stayed here for 2 nights. .. The hotel is around 2 kms away from petra visitor centre and old petra. But is bang in the middle of the City centre with good restaurants around. The mini bus stop is also close by which takes u to wadi rum and aqaba. .
Review 101:The wifi didn't work properly in our room. Be prepared: you'll need to take a cab to and from the Petra Visitor Center
Review 102:Very good value for money. The staff was helpful, organized transport from the airport to the hotel.
Review 103:You really have to get behind the staff to see about your tours. The entrance to the hotel is a little bit abrupt as well. Nothing else really.
Review 104:The hotel is has a fabulous location close to the main attractions and the staff is good too. The rooms are good value and spacious too.
Review 105:There was a problem in the shower water either coming so hot or so cold
Review 106:Good and helpful people specialy laith and wiliam, they arranged the tickets for petra at night
Review 107:We were late for breakfast as we mistook it to end half hour after it actually ended. Still, the staff prepared a hearty breakfast for us and sent it up to our room! Breakfast was great! Staff are very pleasant, knowledgable about the area and very forward with sharing info.
Review 108:It was all abit unfinished, loose wires, carpet pieces etc. it didn t look so great. No lift, Internet very erratic. No kettle.
Review 109:Friendly staff Good value Comfy beds
Review 110:Al Rashid Hotel is in a perfect position inside the city. from here you can enjoy many restaurants and shops, and also reach Petra easily by feet, with no need for a cab. Anything here will ensure you a pleasant staying, but what really will surprise you will be the staff, you will feel welcome and helped in anything. I absolutely will go there my next time in Petra.
Review 111:- Not very close to Petra's visitor center
Review 112:- Employees are very attentive to customers' needs - Price is reasonable - internet works well (Wi-Fi) - Comfortable
Review 113:Ca. 1 km away from entrance to Petra (no problem with a rental car, else it takes you a short taxi ride)
Review 114:- Very friendly and helpful staff (helped us to book a cooking course at Petra's kitchen) - Comfortable room, best value for money during our entire Jordan trip - located in the city centre surrounded by shops and restaurants
Review 115:Nothing really.
Review 116:The hotel staff was very helfful and friendly. Well equipped room. Quick WiFi in the room. Parking possibilities. Even if the breakfast started later, they made a special breakfast for us unly.
Review 117:Nothing
Review 118:Great breakfast, reliable wifi, hot showers, clean room
Review 119:Breakfast seems set to be a buffet, but it is not actually. no juice and fruits.
Review 120:the reception staff is very nice, helpful and friendly.
Review 121:We went there in Jan. The room was very cold even with the heat turned on.
Review 122:Great location and nice staffs.
Review 123:Parking can be crowded
Review 124:Very comfy room and convenient place which is next to shops and restaurant. Very friendly staffs
Review 125:Very cooperative and friendly staff. Good value for money. Will stay again
Review 126:The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was great we had a nice stay and would recommend this hotel to others.

Review 128:The staffs are friendly and helpful.
Review 129:The staff were very hospitable. Great value for money.
