Reviews for Petra Segreta Resort & Spa
Review 1:Rude receptionist on arrival made us feel unwelcome but he changed attitude afterwards.the biggest problem is the poor quality of the overpriced food in the Fuoco Sacro restaurant, the more since there are no other dinner options nearby without taking the car and risking your life at night. The non sound proof bathrooms. It is like your neighbour takes a shower in your room. The Airco needs cleaning.
Review 2:Restaurant staff : the professional maitre and waitress, architecture of the complex. Best beds ever! We took a picture of the matrass to buy the same at home.
Review 3:The room was very dark and located behind the kitchen. The wifi connection rarely worked
Review 4:A beautiful place immaculately kept and offering lots of privacy
Review 5:The obnoxious manager! Musty smell in the room. A charge of €25 to use the sauna!!!!!! Madness!!!!
Review 6:Beware even though the hotels policy is no children they do accept children as there were a few there during my stay. When I asked the obnoxious manager "why do they have this policy in place if it clearly is not the case (having left our kids at home) he responded by saying " have you been disturbed at all by children during your stay"? That was really not the point at all. If a hotel takes children then great if their policy is no children then that's what it should be. Lastly A large marquee was erected in the beautiful front lawn of the small hotel a day before we departed ( Thank goodness!)All hotel guests were banned from using the lawn for 2 days. Albeit not an issue in a large hotel complex , I did in this case being a small boutique hotel, find it absurd that the guests were told "sorry you can't go onto the front lawn as we have a function in a few days that we are setting up for!" Slightly cheeky when paying €400 a night!!!!
Review 7:Wifi is supplied by third party and was useless.
Review 8:We had a deluxe room. Private pool and a great view. Signage from nearby town helped a lot to find the place.
Review 9:breakfast was average. we had to ask for butter every day (as did most other couples), they could really do with varying the options. there are two restaurants - the cheaper of the two needs more options.
Review 10:amazing views, beautiful hotel, suites are great. not far from the local village which has pizzerias and restaurants
Review 11:No proper hotel bar (there is a bar area but never saw a bartender). Menu choices in bistro could be more varied (a daily special or two)
Review 12:Friendliness/helpfulness of staff. Excellent service. Design style and hill top setting. Delightful pool area. Massage treatments.
Review 13:It's a pity that in such a beautiful and comfortable hotel I have to write about the things we didn't like... First of all, wi-fi is a total joke... it's free but you need to log in with your username and password each 5 minutes!!! Seriously, no joke... I understand it's a policy, but I've never seen anywhere that you have to log in each 5 minutes! Second, the restaurant is way overpriced, as well as massages. Not bad though. I would recommend to explore restaurants around in the evenings.
Review 14:We totally enjoyed our stay! it's very close to the airport and to all the nice places around. The warm swimming pool was amazing! The staff is really friendly and helpful! The views are breathtaking. I also enjoyed the running belt in the small fitness room with amazing views and open doors. I think we'll be back sometime!
Review 15:The architecture of this boutique hotel blend's in so well with the Sardinian county side. Petrasegreta is truly a magical place to escape from all the daily stress, comfort, diligent staff, 5 * restrant. Private boat tours are a must to visit the beautiful beach's and Islandes.
Review 16:Not that problem, but we expected from Internet no children, and our neighbour's baby was crying in the night
Review 17:Environment Friendly and helpful stuff Amazing Spa
Review 18:The few days we spent at this resort were great; good food (gastronomic restaurant, but also a more simple osteria), nice staff, rooms are dispersed among the hills with distant views of the sea, spa and swimming pool were great! And it is a 10 minutes ride down to the sea to great beaches spread along the Esmeralda coast!!
Review 19:the air condition and fans at the pool from the restaurant and maintenance rooms around the pool are extremely loud. I could not sleep at all at the pool and even when just reading it annoyed us a lot. the other guests were unhappy about it as well. also the smell at the pool was disgusting because the fans and aircon from the restaurant were directed at the pool and so there was a pizza and cheese smell the whole day. in the beginning we said, mh deloicous but after 2 hours it was disgusting but my worst experience was the after sales service. I lost my necklace and therefore I called the hotel reception to check if they found it in the room. they were so rude, did not even lock just told me to call back another time and speak to the housekeeping. no one ever said they were sorry or even bothered to check my name or room number to see if anything was found. Not acceptable for a 4 star hotel in this price range. actually not acceptable for any hotel at all that they do not even look for lost items.
Review 20:we were greated very friendly and well. We got a free drink upon arrival and got a upgrate for our room to a junior suite. the junior suite is really nice, amazing view, spacious and nice bathroom. the pool looks nice as well the breakfast was delicious
Review 21:The food in the restaurant is good, but expensive. But this the case is in almost every special hotel. But you find very good and cheap restaurants in this area as well.
Review 22:A little paradies! And the prices in autum are very fair. Really a place to relax and let go.
Review 23:Price of food and lack of water in room
Review 24:Breakfast, quality of food, staff, spa, the road to get there was fun and good exercise, the view, the lizards, the pool... It's a lovely resort suitable for couples and friends
Review 25:Like all the good things it comes with a price, but trust me you won't regret any cent of the money spent.
Review 26:It's a fabulous place, a masterpiece of design that offers a fantastic view over the beautiful gulfs of Costa Smeralda and the rocky hills and mountains around. It has nothing to do with a hotel, it's more like a dream house where you could spend your lifetime. Congratulation!
Review 27:Junior suite not big enough and didn't offer value for money. Staff didn't cope so well when restaurant very busy. Disliked cover charges, charges for bread and charges for delivering room service - it's just not necessary in an exclusive, expensive hotel.
Review 28:Location was amazing, views spectacular and food was excellent. Would recommend the Chefs 5 course menu with wine flight.
Review 29:...leaving the place
Review 30:the food the staff the location / views the room / villas the pool the tranquility breakfast was exceptional (best ever) dinner in the restaurant has to be experienced
Review 31:The hotel is amazingly located for those who like to step away from the crowd of costa smeralda. The staff was welcoming, super polite at all times. The place is clean and well decorated everywhere plus the view on the cost with a drink in the evening is a must. Will definitely come back and recommend the place.
Review 32:Strange rules for sauna. open from 9 am till 13 pm. If you want to use it later u have to book champagne with fruit basket and pay for it. Also bed was not comfortable. For the hotel of such class and price I would expect better quality for beds.
Review 33:Location and view over the hills was amazing. The place is very unique. Isolated from main roads though not far driving makes it very special leisure destination. I would definitely go back.
Review 34:The perfection's place not exist but Petra Segreta is near for its characteristic...
Review 35:A secret jewel of Sardinia for those who desire a different place. Sardinia is not only a incredible place of the earth with a unique sea but also with places like this. Different perspective, colours, perfume. Perfect for a introspective journey through monolithic stones, gorgeous silence, luxury nature. A place where disappear and recovering our energy. Staff and management, services, rooms, food. Fantastic experience. The 301 was our room (junior-suite with a outstanding view)
Review 36:Beautiful location and relaxed and peaceful surroundings. Very friendly and helpful staff reflecting the exclusive nature of the hotel.
Review 37:we very did like the quiet and peace that you feel as soon as you come in the resort .. priceless
Review 38:Great location, spectacular view, peaceful setting, relaxing atmosphere...
Review 39:Lack of charm
Review 40:Breakfast
Review 41:The view. The food. The service.
Review 42:A améliorer le confort du lit
Review 43:Tout était parfait
Review 44:Food Peace and quiet Spa Junior suite with private balcony Views
Review 45:- poor WiFi everywhere - felt a bit off and bad streets to get there
Review 46:- nice view - friendly staff - comfortable bed - nice pool area - good food
Review 47:Osteria menu limited, gourmet restaurant good food but expensive - we had better meals outside
Review 48:Location, wifi, rooms (junior suite), staff all great
Review 49:the dirt road to get there the bill :(
Review 50:The peace and quiet the setting the design, interiors the steam room
Review 51:It's not quite what you'd expect for 350-500 euro a night as it is quite "rustic". It isn't the sumptuous luxury that you'd expect for that kind of money but it was quite lovely. The road leading to the hotel is quite treacherous for those of us not used to driving on tiny Italian dirt roads with blind hairpin turns and 0 visibility of oncoming traffic. Wifi was abysmal; but then I suppose you come to places like this to escape worldly connections. There isn't much else to do around the hotel and San Pantaleo is charming but devoid of anything meaningful. It is only a short drive to the beaches though. I also think that the hotel should organize complimentary transport to and from San Pantaleo at certain intervals during the day which would spare guests from having to drive. Some of the rooms are a bit dark and oddly situated in such a way that there isn't much privacy. I was initially given a room which is situated on the main walkway which leads to reception and has only one tiny window other than the front door which is full length glass. However, in order to get any meaningful light into the room you'd have to leave the curtain on the front door opened which ostensibly means that every person walking into or out of the entrance to the main building could look directly into your room. I asked to be moved to a different room-202- which was perfect. It had a lovely terrace with loungers overlooking the hillside and Magdalena islands in the distance. It was serene (but there was a not-insignificant additional cost to upgrade to that room).
Review 52:The location is beautiful. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere was immensely relaxing and tranquil. The food was outstanding.
Review 53:There really wasn't much we disliked. We stayed in room 103 and while we had a good sized outdoor space, we didn't have a good view because we were between two other verandas. Although the hotel are working on their wifi issue and have put wireless routers in each room and in the pool area, I still struggled to connect and maintain a wireless internet connection for a sufficient amount of time. Aside from these very minor points, we had a wonderful time.
Review 54:The setting of the hotel is very peaceful and relaxing. There were very few children there during our stay, I would definitely recommend this hotel more for couples. We loved the hotel breakfast and the views over breakfast were beautiful. The staff were attentive and very helpful with any queries we had. I would recommend this hotel to others. Renting a car is vital, as taxis are incredibly expensive in Sardinia and the hotel is not walking distance from anywhere.
Review 55:- Below average restaurant(s) are overpriced for poor quality, - Some of the senior staff was pretty unfriendly, - Dampness feeling in room.
Review 56:- Good location, - Great landscaping, - Fantastic views, - Efficient staff (but not necessarily friendly)
Review 57:Claudia Orru and Massimiliano VArchi were both amazing. They went above and beyond their duties to make sure my husband and I enjoyed our honeymoon. They were also able to anticipate and meet our needs. Thank you Claudia and Massimiliano for your time, we really appreciated it.
Review 58:The only (-) was the WIFI/Internet connection. Once in a while WIFI was going well, and then it just stopped working. The hotel manager explained that they are looking into things and consider changing the provider.
Review 59:We very much like the Petra Segreta Resort. The hotel is at a very nice place overlooking the sea at Cannigione. The staff is very nice and helpful. The food and wine was in general very delicious, and this was probably the best breakfast we've ever had (perfect food/service/view). The pool (heated when we were there in May) and the garden is very beautiful. Note the Spa and fitness are nice, but a bit small. Will we come back? For sure :-)
Review 60:Nothing
Review 61:The staff were polite and friendly, the food was fantastic and the hotel and spa were ideal. It was a relaxing break, San Pantaloe is a lovely village 2km away, there is a nice bar in the central square and lovely art shops. The scenery is beautiful around and we loved the village of Porto Rafael in the north. The hotel was secluded and our room 204 was facing the wilderness with a lovely terrace. It was very quite. Loved the bar and the pool and the atmosphere was relaxed.
Review 62:Some rooms probably a bit dark and in shade all day.
Review 63:Beautiful view, very quiet, very friendly staff, excellent food, tasteful interior design. Room 303 had a sunny terrace
Review 64:The condition that children are not allowed. One of the most fantastic places I've been in my life, it is difficult to describe in a few words, I can only say that; "Petra Segreta is the closest to paradise"
Review 65:Most staff just did not care. Receptionist was rude. Despite room being available on booking.com we were told they have no rooms when we wanted to extend our stay. They said they have to show rooms on booking.com as it is a marketing concept but if we came to stay there would not be rooms.
Review 66:Amazing design, beautiful location, a very nice man called Soon at the restaurant.
Review 67:Fantastic location, views, and decor, with great ambience and very helpful and friendly staff. We had a Deluxe room which was spacious, clean and had everything we needed. Good facilities and very well maintained.
Review 68:The terrible potholed road leading to the property and the fact we were given a standard room when we had booked a deluxe. The room also had a very damp smell and was dark with very little natural light.
Review 69:The food was excellent. And the staff very attentive
Review 70:The rough track to the hotel is not part of its charm (as we were told!) and the evening dinner was not always good.
Review 71:A warm welcome sustained throughout our stay, comfortable accommodation, superb setting, wonderful breakfasts - such a relaxing environment.
Review 72:(1) They advertise a sauna, but they do not have a sauna. What they do have is a turkish bath, which is something different. Big disappointment for us.(2) Access to the remote location of the hotel is via a 2 km dirt road. After a rainfall, you need a vehicle with high ground clearance (e.g. SUV) because you will have to drive through ponds of water and over high steps. (3) In our opintion, the restaurant was hopelessly overpriced compared to the value delivered. Perhaps because there is no alternative within 15 minutes drive.
Review 73:(1) View from the top of the hill.(2) Decoratioin of the rooms. (3) Well-maintained surroundings of the hotel. (4) Considering this is a relais/chateaux, the rooms were reasonably priced (off-season).
Review 74:Very beautiful views, calm and relaxing Good breakfast Excelent service
Review 75:Wonderful,amazing place!!!!I would love to come back!Everything was perfect!
Review 76:the majority of rooms were very small with little privacy
Review 77:the location and the professionalism of the staff
Review 78:Although a junior suite, the room was quite small.
Review 79:nothing
Review 80:very chic hotel, pleasant localisation, very nice staff
Review 81:Extras are overpriced.
Review 82:Stunning location. Amazing staff. Luxurious. Quiet.
Review 83:Casual elegance;-)
