Reviews for La Maison Hotel
Review 1:Breakfast - it was very messy. Many things were finished before we came, we had to ask about every fork and spoon. Food was in a mess and did not look too tasty. Also the man in the reception was not much helpful - we asked for the taxi and he was trying to cheat us saying that the taxi company is not answering and his friend will take us to the bus station for 5 JOD. We refused and caught a taxi on the street for 2 JOD. Also, the restaurant was closed in the evening so we were not able to have a dinner there and there was not much choice in the nearby (we were not able to get to the downtown as it was not safe there due to local protest)
Review 2:Location - 3 minutes walk to Petra entrance. Room was clean and comfortable. Wifi was ok
Review 3:Hotel room was not clean properly. Bed was clean but corners of the bed, windows, bathroom were dirty. Food was horrible! Internet was slow (at least from our room).
Review 4:Location of the hotel is the best. 2 minutes walk from Petra Entrance and restaurants are 5 minutes walk.
Review 5:The toilet has no ventilation therefore the floor gets wet very easily despite the shower curtain barely providing sufficient screening. There is no floor mat for after shower and we had to walk about the floor with our wet feet. Rest are basic. Was told buffet dinner when purchasing the voucher but was told later at the restaurant that they only serve set meals. Breakfast with the package is a little disappointing.
Review 6:The hospitality of the staff close proximity to Petra Visitor Ctr. Flexibility to make transfer or tour cum airport transfer altogether.
Review 7:Hotel and Room were not cleaned properly. Bathroom was kind of disgusting and smelly.
Review 8:Location is the best. Next to Petra entrance and close to restaurants.
Review 9:Bed was broken, but the staff moved us. Sheets were pretty poor. Rooms are small, but for the money they were just fine. Heater didn't work and room was very cold. The staff brought us warm blankets though.
Review 10:Location location location. Value for the money. Staff was very willing to please the guests.
Review 11:My first room was inadequate but the excellent staff moved me to a lovely room and made my stay a good one.
Review 12:Absolutely the best location for seeing Petra.
Review 13:Room stifling hot, sheets threadbare and did not fit mattress, no security chain on door, TV leaves no room on desk, no fire doors.
Review 14:Location and mattress
Review 15:The room that was assigned for us, wasn't clean; but they changed our room immediately.
Review 16:The location was perfect. And the value for money also, was good.
Review 17:Old bathroom/if they have many clients they normally set up dinner buffet with plenty of choice; if not you do not have any chance to eat something good. Stuff unkind and unhelpful. At the restaurant just one person when they have not so many customers.. you receive your plate to eat and you don't even have the water you asked for or the table ready in a proper way... no words..
Review 18:Location perfect
Review 19:In our first day there, they tried to overcharge us for our lunch at the restaurant. During breakfast, my wife found a piece of glass the size of a nail in the orange jam. In our room there was a socket on the headboard, just behind the pillow!!! The place was filthy and smelly, rooms and corridors.
Review 20:Nothing
Review 21:- although the hotel claims that has internet throughout the entire building internet is actually available in the reception lobby and restaurant. On the first floor where I stayed there was no internet available. During evenings internet was not working at all in the places mentioned above. I reported the problem on two occasions (different nights) and the answer was the same namely the restart of the router which obviously did not solve the problem - the hot water was also a problem in the sense that the water was warm but not what I would expect. - in the room there was constant noise most likely because of the Hotel AC system. I want to mention that I did not use the AC at all but during the night time the noise bothered me. - the blanked sheet was not cleaned. - I did the booking since it is mentioned that the hotel is recommended for its services by booking.com. Unfortunately the reality was different I was disappointed that such a hotel (no propoer internet, no propoer hot water, the onstant noise) was recommend by booking.com
Review 22:The food was good, especially dinner.
Review 23:Mold in the first bedroom we were assigned and the second room was dirty. Bathroom and bedsheets were full of hair!
Review 24:Location is great, walking distance to Petra
Review 25:AC didn't work despite changing rooms Restaurant had dirty tables and no buffet due to capacity and set menu was one starter and one main (we ate elsewhere)
Review 26:Location and cleanliness were good, free parking outside as well.
Review 27:Absolutely nothing to complain about..For the cost it was exceptional. very clean hotel...jordanians are very very hospitable people. They touch ur heart with their genuiness..
Review 28:The hotel at a 100 mtr walk from Petra..staff very very helpful..receptionist ziad went out of his way to accommodate our needs..absolute value for money ..
Review 29:No kettle and tea/coffee sachets for those who like to drink in the room. No minibar.
Review 30:Very good located, just 5 min walking to Petra entrance, so no need to take taxi. Fast check-in. Big room, comfy bed. Good staff. Our departure was early in the morning and we got the breakfast boxes before leaving. Overall it worth to stay.
Review 31:Poorly maintained. Inspite of changing rooms, air conditioning was appalling & very noisy. I got a severe migraine from lack of sleep. Beds were extremely uncomfortable, linen was worn out & v old . All crockery was chipped & dirty. We're very upset that Booking.com has led us to believe that this hotel had a high score.
Review 32:Friendly staff
Review 33:This is the second time we've stayed here and it continues to impress. First, the location is perfect, 2 minutes walk to the entrance to Petra. Second, the staff is professional and catering. The breakfast buffet is great and they offer a delicious dinner at a decent price. The rooms were fine, nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. For the price, this is an excellent place that I will continue to stay at when we go to Petra!
Review 34:Nearly all guests seem to stay for one, or maximum two nights. I stayed for four nights. A broken bed in my first room - then two singles to make a double in the next. Bad plumbing. TV did not work. WiFi did not work. Staff pleasant - but nothing got fixed.
Review 35:This hotel is very conveniently located for access to the World Heritage site. Cheap rate.
Review 36:for its price it was an ideal option.
Review 37:nice personnel, great location, good breakfast with many options even for vegetarians. very big room with many windows with light protective curtains, big bathroom. it is a great deal for its price, definitely recommend.
Review 38:Refused to change Israel money (NIS) to Jordan dinar (JOD) at reception (USD was changed to JOD without issues). Electricity was switched off for whole hotel at 5:30 AM one time.
Review 39:Very friendly staff. Breakfast box was provided at 5:30 AM two times. Location is perfect: 5 minutes walk to the Petra entrance. Good wi-fi in the room. Welcome tea at reception. Best value for such a price in Petra.
Review 40:The hotel was not perfectly clean and the bathrooms could be mantained better. But price/quality is really good.
Review 41:We loved the staff: As there was a problem with the TV in our room we called the reception, very soon they gave us another room and one member of staff just helped us to move to the other room. All the people were very kind, could speak English well and helped out wherever possible. The location is perfect as well! Another nice thing was the breakfast (lots of different offers to choose from at the buffet) and the rooftop restaurant with terace. They did a nice job. We can't complain.
Review 42:It was very, very good value for money but not all that clean.
Review 43:The location was great, wonderful position for Petra and for somewhere for a night or two while visiting it was good.
Review 44:Amazing value for money! Location is right near the Petra entrance (free parking in front of the hotel also). This was the best stay in the whole Jordan. Rooms were large, AC very good, confortable beds, friendly staff and what a lovely variety for breakfast. Free Wi-FI. If you can book this hotel do not hesitate! Highly recommend!!!
Review 45:The bathroom is a bit old. The hotel is relatively noisy especially as everyone is leaving early to go visit Petra. No fridge or safe box.
Review 46:The location is great, 5 minutes walking from Petra main entrance. Personal was great, very friendly and helpful. The room was good overall. It's a great budget/ location/ quality deal (about 25-30JOD per night for two)
Review 47:Hotel is old. Breakfast was terrible, no choices at all. Food was cheap and not tasty. Isolation of the room is poor, yiu can hear everything what happening on the floor.
Review 48:Location is 5min walk from Petra entrance. The room was clean. Ac worked.
Review 49:The Air conditioned system of my room was broken and leaking water! Breakfast was a bit too simple and monotonous!
Review 50:Simple but nice and comfortable rooms. Location is superb as you're 5 mins walking from Petra entrance. Price is very competitive
Review 51:We met two Italian girls travelling on their own and you could say they were harassed by some local guides, obviously interested in showing them more than little Petra. And these people were told the room number of the girls and given access to the interior of the hotel, regardless of the fact that they hadn't authorized it. They found, to their surprise and disgust, the guys waiting for them at their room front. I think they hotel personnel could've put their guests in danger. If only for that, I don't think I'll ever go back to La Maison and, sure, I'll never recommend it to female guests travelling on their own. Wifi was almost non existent in many rooms.
Review 52:Magnificent location, just 5 minutes walking from the entrance of Petra.
Review 53:everything - the facilities, the location, the staff were superb. I forgot my phone at the breakfast table, one of the staff brought it back all the way to my room. Location was perfect
Review 54:the staff and teh ownership are very professional and polite a special mention to the hotel driver Tawfiq, he have showed me many hidded gems during the tour from Madaba to Petra. i hhave to reccomend he
Review 55:Nothing bad, it's cheap and valuable
Review 56:Close 2 min on foot from petra entry, clean and acceptable, cheap B&B for friends, very good deal. great for one two night rest between petra visit for those not willing to pay resort (which one doesnt have time to enjoy while in petra)
Review 57:Totally unkindly staff! Actually, they cheated us for the price of our accomodation! Breakfast was terriable and poor and the biggest problem was when they arrangement for us trip for Wadi Rum! Nothing what they said wasn't included in price, we only get drive through the desert! Don't book this hotel!!
Review 58:Absolutely nothing!
Review 59:Some staffs did not know enough information about Petra/Wadi Musa. Gave me wrong information when I asked about bus timing etc.
Review 60:Location was superb. 5 minutes walk to the entrance of Petra yet affordable. Room was very clean and look new.
Review 61:No hot shower and wi-fi in the room every day (reception said: "it usually happens in rush time"). In my wadi rum tour, they changed the guide/driver and he was very inconvenient during the tour, asking me all the time to sleep in Aqaba and then take a taxi to go to airport. I paid to private tour and driver direct to Amman airport, he tried to change and take advantage of the situation many times. I had to be rude and unpolite to keep what I paid for, but I felt uncomfortable and even scared because there was not my language or country. This driver/guide complaint all the time between wadi rum to Amman airport about the hotel comissions and I just repeat many times: "There is not my problem!". I really don´t recommend this tour of the hotel, you pay more to feel comfortable and safe and there are some strange business hidden from guests.
Review 62:It´s very close to Petra, markets, shops and restaurantes (5 min walking). The room is comfortable but there is no freezer on it. Arhmed was very friendly and solved all my questions about tours but I have a problem with it
Review 63:Average breakfast. Room door not closing but due to safety of the area I left it unlocked.
Review 64:Nice location, just next to Petra entrance. Middle class hotel for good money.
Review 65:The hotel is located just outside Petra. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spacious. Breakfast was good. Baggage was kept in their storage room after i've checked out.
Review 66:Great location a short walk -2 mins, from the gates of Petra. Luxurious stay for a reasonable price. Room and facilities were good. Staff were really helpful!
Review 67:Coffee was not available at breakfast and the overall quality of the food at dinner and breakfast was comparatively low.
Review 68:The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the location is superb--steps from Petra park entrance.
Review 69:There's a continuous noise outside the hotel during the night which is very annoying. Breakfast is not variated
Review 70:Good location to Petra main entrance
Review 71:no parking. you park at the risk of getting a fine. not sure if the bed sheets, pillow covers and quilt cover were changed. food quality at the restaurant was way below acceptable
Review 72:Location Price friendly receptionist
Review 73:The hotel provides breakfast. It was a buffet for our 2 first days of staying and it was fine. The coffee was cold, but we asked for the better one and the young man in the restaurant kindly made hot coffee with milk for us every morning. But the 3rd day the breakfast was served to our table: no buffet was provided. We did not understand why.
Review 74:The hotel is nice and clean. The staff is great and very pleasant. There is no TV satellite but this is not a big problem. The location is terrific - 2 min from the main entrance to Petra Archeological Park. A few small supermarkets to buy water and fruits are also very close.
Review 75:The poor breakfast!!!!! I've booked a triple room with breakfast buffet but this wasn't what we got. The breakfast was not a buffet one and their argument was that they don't have enough guests on the day of our booking which is not our problem!! I honestly don't recommend staying in la maison hotel unless you only care for the location.
Review 76:Location of the property
Review 77:Perfect place to stay when visiting Petra. Location is almost by the gate. Price is fair. Rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. Strong wifi signal. Great breakfast at restaurant. Helpful staff! They can change your money for you as well.
Review 78:My room for was a bit dated and could do with some modernization. That said it was comfortable and very good for the price.
Review 79:Location was excellent for getting to Petra site being less than a 5 minute walk. Front office staff were friendly and knowledgeable and were about to advise on activities in the area. This place is good value for money and catered very well for me what I wanted - proximity to the site and not too expensive.
Review 80:I pay for 25% taxes because we were late to bring back the room..i hatethat because we were late in petra it take more than 5 hours..they don`talarm us of taxes..
Review 81:I like the place just near petra enter ..by walking
Review 82:The breakfast was terrible - same plate of bread served two days in a row (I dont think it left the serving area). The hot water went out and it took five phone calls and 24hours to be fixed with no apology. There were lots of areas that were not clean. This is a cheap hotel, you get the location and nothing more.
Review 83:The location was good - close to the main gate for Petra
Review 84:The hotel was 2 mins walk to the entrance of Petra, and there were numerous restaurants close by. Rooms were clean and satisfactory. Good value for money.
Review 85:The hotel recommended a Wadi Rum tour guide who did not take us to the protected area to avoid the fee... And was offended by my requests to see specific sites! I believe the hotel should recommend more trustworthy people
Review 86:Very close to Petra entrance
Review 87:Made the mistake of going up on thyme rooftop restaurant for dinner. It was horrible. We were the only customers but mixed grill arrived an hour later totally cold. Sullen and unprofessional service.
Review 88:Location
Review 89:Terrible bathroom Terrible wifi, doesnt work at 2nd floor Old (room, elevator, tv, everything) Staff always given half information (specially about payments, charging etc)
Review 90:Some maintenance need to be done but since Petra it is small city and simple city the hotel is quite ok.
Review 91:Wifi is incredible fast. Staff is mega friendly. Location in the best.
Review 92:Dust everywhere in the room; Hair on the sheets; Dirty bathtub; Dirty tables in the breakfast area; One waiter tried to charge me for the water although the reception staff had told me to get a glass of non-bottled water from the breakfast area; Although we requested a non-smoking room, our room was full of smoke during the first night because a group of youngsters was smoking in the lobby.
Review 93:Very good location, close to Petra entrance and to the bus station; They allowed us to check in earlier without paying extra; Reception staff was very friendly and helpful - they made the arrangements for us to leave to Wadi Rum by bus.
Review 94:I really liked my stay at La Maison. However, I had some problems with wi-fi connection as it seemed not to be working everywhere in my room. I had to find a specific spot to have decent signal. Breakfast is also a point to be improved. There were no clean glasses when I went to eat in the morning and restaurant staff did not seem to be willing to work that day. This is my impression only.
Review 95:Friendly staff. They are simply awesome. Mr. Ali Farajat was more than just a trained hotel staff. He is polite, highly educated, has good sense of humour and does his best to make us, guests, feel at home away from home. Excellent to the fullest.
Review 96:The wifi was slow, though easy to access.
Review 97:La Maison is a short walk to the Petra entrance and close to shops and restaurants. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, even calling after our lost baggage for us. The breakfast buffet had a huge selection including made-to-order omelettes. This place is a great value.
Review 98:This was possibly the most disappointing hotel experience in Jordan. It was just expensive and had not much to offer to justify the price, other than the before mentioned location. A bit passee, all the up-selling, expensive meal options, did I mention the staff continuously trying to sell stuff?
Review 99:This former really nice hotel is minutes away from one of the most spectacular world heritage sights.
Review 100:The hotel is an old place, lost its everything longtime ago. good enough for 1night! Close to the visitors centre (5min). Both dinner and breakfast not eatable, seriously disappointing!!
Review 101:Staf is Nice and helpful
Review 102:WiFi is very unstable, and they don't even have a boiler or fridge or hair dryer, so you can't even make a coffee, if you ask for hot water, only the first time is free.
Review 103:The staffs are friendly and willing to help,
Review 104:the service is really low quality. We found that the bed sheets were dirty, full of hair, in all the three beds. When we informed the management, they said it's from the laundry!!!Also the toilets were not properly cleaned. Internet was very unstable, unless u sit at the reception. As we woke up late and we were running out of time, I prepared my self a toast from the breakfast buffet and immediately the chef came to my table and asked me to pay for the sandwich, as it;s against the rules. When i asked to show me the written rule, he said there's nothing in writing but I would need to pay anyway for the take away food. He was very rude and aggressive. When I went to pay the room there was nothing extra charged, of course!
Review 105:For the price you pay, it could be a good option. Very close to the petra touritst sight and also only few minutes walking from good restaurants.Bed are confortable too, rooms are spacious. However, due to the porro service, I wouldnt come back there, as there are other better options in Wadi Musa, but you can choose this place if you just need a confortable bed close to the sights and you dont mind a dirty place for a good price!
Review 106:The wifi didn't work at all. We got two breakfast boxes because we needed to leave early the next morning which included one simple cheese sandwich, sweet shotbread, one whole tomato - quite weird-, one cucumber, one apple and water. Sounded enough for breakfast but we expected something that can stuff our stomaches for the long trip. If you expect something fancy you might consider the neighbor hotel.
Review 107:The staff helped us get the bus to Wadi Rum the next morning. The front desk staff was infomative and helpful.
Review 108:The food is not good but expensive. The hotel is in dire need of upgrading.
Review 109:Close to Petra entrance. The price was right! The staff were very friendly and helpful
Review 110:Room service took quite a long time. I have an incident that I've given the staff 10JD for a meal that priced 5JD and the staff never returned the change. I have to go down to the lobby to ask for it. The staff explained he was waiting for me to go down for which I don't understand
Review 111:location of 5 min walk to Petra entrance. Price is reasonable. Friendly staff
Review 112:There were a few negatives though: - there was no water in the bathroom in the morning. The staff had to get us water in a kettle which is all we got. - the bed was the old spring mattress kind which made noises everytime you shift on the bed - the breakfast options were limited
Review 113:It was located very near to the Petra entrance gate so was very convenient. The staff was very helpful and gave us a free room upgrade. They also helped us to plan our day to maximize the time we were in Petra.
Review 114:The room itself was disappointing. The first problem we had was the lack of wall sockets to recharge our phones. We had to shift some of the furniture around to access a dodgy-looking socket meant for the TV. The second issue we ran into was the lack of WiFi. They had fixed this by the next morning, but we were only there for one night so that didn't help us much. The bathroom was poor. It had an unpleasant 'deep-fried' odour in it at all times (maybe it was above the kitchen?). I found dental floss on the floor which had not been cleaned, and the bathtub and shower looked a bit grotty. Overall, I'm glad we didn't pay full price for the room, as otherwise I would feel rather ripped off.
Review 115:The location of the hotel was excellent. Just a short distance away from the main entrance to Petra, it took us no more than 3 minutes to walk there. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We were traveling to Wadi Rum the next day and they didn't hesitate to book us a bus and arrange a breakfast packet. Our bed was also very comfortable!
Review 116:Very poor in everything. Staff looking at like aliens. Barthroom shower was broken and AC was not working. No water bottle in the room. We had to pay JOD 1.5 for a small water bottle. That is USD 2. I do not like this hotel.
Review 117:Hotel is very near to Petra. That is the most I like in this hotel.
Review 118:The dinner which is very expensive. You will be charged JD12 for just fries, salad and mixed grills. Drinks not included. The Restaurant Manager on duty was a bit rude at first. We were advised by the Front Desk Mgr. That my kids' meals will be charged as one only since their ages are 12 and 13, but proceeding to the restaurant, the manager in charge said that my kids' meals will be charged with separate full meals. Also, advised that dessert was included in the dinner but when we were waiting for it, he said it is not. What (?). He saw how I reacted so he suddenly changed and gave what's due to us. Our next night with the restaurant was just fine but food still the same.
Review 119:The proximity of the hotel to Petra Visitor Centre. Really close.
Review 120:- Unstable hot water shower supply - Unstable WIFI - Breakfast choice very limited Shower/WIFI ok first night after we check in, spent the whole day second day in Petra, WIFI NOT working after went back to hotel. Shower not stable. Staff promote their own business to you while you are having breakfast in the hotel, not professional.
Review 121:- Right next to the entrance of Petra, just 5 mins walk - Cheap, good value for money
Review 122:What i disliked in the hotel was the restaurant service! The breakfast was poor and only on of the staff could speak english! I read this on the comments as well but the guys from the reataurant/breakfast service were constatly flirting and making comments and they had the nerve to speak to my grandmother about me!
Review 123:I liked the fact that is really close to the petra gate, 4min walk! The room was clean and the beds were fine! Reception staff was great and helpfull!
Review 124:The hotel's food (dinner and breakfast) was okay but pretty nondescript. However the staff was friendly and it's good enough when you're too tired to head elsewhere.
Review 125:The location was perfect being walkable to the entrance for park and close to a couple of restaurants. The staff was friendly and helpful. The accommodation was simple with a comfortable bed.
Review 126:The service at mealtimes was poor.
Review 127:Its convenience is its best feature and it was very adequate for our requirements. Reception staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 128:One of our rooms had a bad smell, most likely due to not having beein in use for some time (season just beginning, and the turmoil of the region has not been great for tourism sector in Jordan). However, they shifted the room immediatly and we were very satisfied. Also, the restaurant was not well prepared for guests but they made it work when we came back exhausted from a full day in Petra.
Review 129:Within 5 min of the gates of Petra, friendly staff and amazing views from the rooftop bar/restaurant.
Review 130:Food in the rooftop restaurant - horrible. Also they have nice views at the rooftop, but they cover it up with curtains - can't see outside.
Review 131:Clean, good value for money. Location: near Petra gates
Review 132:Bedroom and bathroom are rather small.
Review 133:This hotel is in a great location for anyone wanting to visit Petra as it is only a 5 minutes walk away from the ticket office and there is on street parking right outside. Staff are very friendly. Good free wifi.
Review 134:Great location, and the nicest friendliest staff possible. Abundant breakfast to start the long day to visit Petra. Thanks for a great stay Le Maison hotel!!
Review 135:The food is horrible! Don't order from their restaurant. They charged us incorrectly (we booked two rooms) and tried to justify saying the total amount was correct but just the wrong amount to each room.
Review 136:Free wifi; location of hotel is really close to Petra
Review 137:one day the internet was t available on the room
Review 138:2 min to site entrance, new and modern building, good breakfast and excellent and cheap restaurant for dinner on the top roof, large rooms, clean, smiling staff,wi fi and very good value for money.u can also pay with card.free parking
Review 139:If you are planning to upload 64gb of data to a cloud service This hotel is not for you. The food was plentiful but just ok.
Review 140:The effort the Front of House team make to help with the guests is impressive. I hope they are well rewarded.
