Reviews for B&B La Collegiata
Review 1:Friendly and comfortable B&B, very convenient to everything in this exceptional town. Vanya, the hostess, will help with parking, advise on your visit in good English, and cook special pastry for her generous breakfasts. The mosaics in the cathedral are outstanding, not to be missed.
Review 2:Parking. If you come in your rental, be prepared for a near impossibility of finding a spot and on top of that endure the aggressive and impatient road manners of many (not all!) italian "drivers"
Review 3:The location is as close as you can get to the center of the town. About 5 min walk from the duomo and the town square, but still surprisingly quiet at night. Vanya, the host is a wonderfull person and a efficient manager.
Review 4:The car parking and driving in this very (very) tight village is challenging, however, we got very lucky on the one night we stayed there. Not sure you could get that lucky again. The streets are always full as there are a lot of residents there and we could only see one public parking and it was not very close to the B & B to drag luggage on cobblestone streets very far and the entrance ramp into the public park was at a very, very steep downward angle (we didn't do it ourselves, just saw it). Monreale as a village could be seen in well less than a day or afternoon into evening. Couldn't imagine spending days there, we were in transit from a 6 day car tour of other parts of Sicily and this stay was our final afternoon into evening before leaving from Palermo airport next day at lunch hour. It took one hour to get from Monreale thru Palermo alone in mid morning traffic just to get driving towards the airport, even with navigation on the car, very confusing and stressful. Would recommend skipping Palermo itself, it is pathetically dirty, chaotic place (we were used to such things after 102 trips to Europe and even we struggled and quickly decided no to entering Palermo after skirting in on the drive in).
Review 5:We liked almost everything about this property and family staff.... minor detail of not consistent hot water in the shower, everything else was as nice as you will find in a B & B in Sicily... Location is very good, steps away from anything you would need and the Duomo. This church amoung our favorite church's of Europe ever visited. Would recommend attending a mass if you happened to be there on a Sunday evening, it starts at 6pm, no matter what your faith is, a great and special experience. Toto Pizza is a place near the B & B, within our best 3 pizza restaurants we ever visited, if you ask, everyone in town knows it and has great atmosphere.
Review 6:Vania is a very kind and helpful host who did everything to make our stay comfortable. The location is 2 min walk from towncenter and Cathedral of Monreale and short drive to Palermo.
Review 7:Car parking is a bit challenging, but it is free. Palermo is not a nice city, better stay in Monreale.
Review 8:This charming B&B is a perfect place to stay for a short visit when exploring Palermo. Monreale is a nice little village close to Palermo where you can have relaxibg stay and nice dinners when taking a day trip to Palermo by buss.
Review 9:old italian town, narrow one way streets all over, do not try to get there, what ever google maps tells, stop at the main square and walk the remaining 50m...
Review 10:GPS signal was confusing more then as driving a rented car along narrow steets was stressful enough
Review 11:Lovely hostess, trainee guide, full of enthusiasm and knowledge.
Review 12:Everything was wonderful. The room is spacious, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed. Vania is very kind and exteremly helpful. She made our stay memorable. The place is 1 min away from Duomo and very close to the bus stop to Palermo. We liked it much better to stay in Monreale than to bear the craziness of Palermo. There is also no shoratage of good restaurants.
Review 13:A little difficult to find a place for the car but not impossible!
Review 14:the breakfast is very tasty and typical from Sicilia. Vania was very charming and helpful. Everything was perfect!
Review 15:Parking is available but is a challenge. Vanya & Sergio actually made it easy.
Review 16:The B&B was perfect for visiting Monreale central. It is a beautifully renovated apartment furnished in a contemporary style. The breakfast was generous... chock full of ham, cheeses and local treats. We enjoyed our stay immensely.
Review 17:B.B. Collegiata is a few steps from the Piazza and the Duomo of Monreale. If you want to be close to Palermo but far of the chaos and noise of a big city at night you will enjoy B.B. Collegiata very much. The owner, a young lady Vania is the most helpful and nice host and does everything to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are spaicous and clean. You can get to the Duomo and its cloister before the many groups that come every day. There is a regular bus to Palermo and back so you may easily visit Palermo as well from Monreale.
Review 18:Parking Narrow streets Driving there via A19 in parts, lots of traffic. No tub in the room only shower. Wifi was hit or miss
Review 19:Breakfast & cappuccino were extraordinary. Breathtaking views Excellent Dining options Excellent Shopping Everything is within walking distance. Family owned and operated.
Review 20:This is a relatively new B&B, so everything is clean and neat. I admire Vania, the hostess, for designing such a lovely and cozy interior. When I praise her for the stair with ceramic tiles, she said it was her brother's idea. His brother also has a artistic taste. Everything is extraordinary and well cared. I can see she has a real sense of creative designing. She is definitely an artist. She is also kind enough to drive my car by herself to find the right space in the middle of the night and let the car in her spots for rest of the next day even after checking out, so that we could take a bus to Palermo. Don't even think about driving at Palermo. It was wise choice to stay at La Collegiate of Monreale, instead of staying at noisy and rampageous Palermo. After a long flight from Korea, my wife and I finally have found a comfortable place and enjoy the tranquility in Monreale thanks to Vania. Very well maintained and located just next to Duomo. Breakfast was also perfect and she kindly prepared american coffee for us. Her recommendation of "Pizzeria Toto" is highly appreciable. Its food and artistic interior was marvelous. Highly recommend and will definitely stay longer here next time in Sicily. Always stay this way~~~Thumb Up for B&B La Collegiata!!! Stayed September 2014
Review 21:Quite a few stairs which might not suit everyone. Water in shower kept going cold. But hard to be negative as it was so good
Review 22:Very helpful owner who came out to the car to navigate the streets and parked the car in a small space for us. Large room with lovely furniture and lighting, comfortable bed, quiet air conditioning, efficient WiFi. Great location very near the duomo and still quiet. Generous breakfast with more variety than expected
Review 23:Nothing
Review 24:Everything. The hosts were wonderful, warm and helpful at all times. The location couldn't be better, 2 minutes walk from the Cathedral. The breakfast was too generous. The room was spacious, cozy, very comfortable and quiet.
