Reviews for Hotel Villa San Lucchese
Review 1:Absolutely nothing!
Review 2:The hi-lite of our trip. Location, facility, and especially the staff were outstanding. We got to know all of them and our gratitude was properly extended. Particularly enjoyed the homemade breakfast menu.
Review 3:It was super noisy. We booked a "soundproofed" room at an additional cost. It was directly over the reception door where everyone, including buses, loaded and unloaded.
Review 4:The staff was terrific and the grounds were beautiful.
Review 5:We stayed at San Lucchese for five days and did not want to leave. The staff are gracious, friendly, and truly made us feel like we were on vacation. Breakfast was great, especially their coffee. Our room was perfect, it had a marvelous view and the most comfortable beds.
Review 6:Breakfast room could do with a make over and possibly have more variety with the menu.
Review 7:Staff were excellent and so helpful. The hotel is a 400+ year old villa in a great Tuscan setting. It is run by a family and has old world charm. Location is a perfect base for touring Tuscany. Dinner on the terrace or in the dining room is a wonderful experience. Would go back again.
Review 8:This hotel is beautiful, the service there is wonderful, spotlessly clean, so friendly, pool is big and clean, lovely grounds, we stayed for 2 nights, it is central for visiting san gimignano, Florence etc, definitely recommend this hotel for any age range, you will not be disappointed
Review 9:Maybe it would be nice to have more diversity and local products for breakfast
Review 10:Nice and quiet location, amazing view, however a car would be very useful, as the location is not easy accesible. Very friendly staff, gave us useful advice for visiting Chianti area. Very good wifi connection, even on the pool area.
Review 11:Their is almost nothing with which to find fault - perhaps the wifi needs a boost but this is not really a complaint.
Review 12:The welcome was fantastic and every single member of staff went out of their way to be as friendly and helpful as possible.
Review 13:A wonderful family run hotel. Had a great pool area which would be good for children. Excellent staff. Very convenient for many beautiful towns in the area including Siena. Great to come back to after a hot day sightseeing.
Review 14:Nothing, we had a perfect stay.
Review 15:We liked the size of the room that was very big, great breakfast, the staff was very nice, Lorenzo at the front desk gave us extra advices regarfing the trips around. The location was absolutely great for a star trips up to an hour drive, the hotel's restaurant served delicious dinners.
Review 16:Not sure the AC was working but it was so nice that we just left the windows open all the time, they may not have it turned on yet in the spring. Decorations were a little dated.
Review 17:The staff was great and very helpful with information in the area. After we checked in the guy at the front desk brought us a large bottle of wine and set it up in our sitting area by the window overlooking the courtyard. Parking onsite without extra fee. Amazing views of the countryside and close to San Giminano which is a medieval town (amazing food and cheap wine here) and Sienna. Not very far off the highway. We had the suite which was a very large room with a large bath with jets.
Review 18:The towels had a little bit the smell of vinegar, but I think thats from the cleaning. The cloth on the ceiling in the breakfast room needs a cleaning, it´s really dirty
Review 19:Bed with new mattress was very comfortable, good breakfast
Review 20:Nothing - we will for sure go back here for a longer stay!
Review 21:Excellent professional, linguistically capable staff. Room size and comfort of bed. Lovely breakfast and restaurant. Hotel building and grounds.
Review 22:Leaving "our home" away from home!
Review 23:Villa San Lucchese was a welcomed respite in our travels. The views from every window were breath taking -- especially in the early morning as the mist rose from the valley and at sunset as the sky had beautiful hues . Our room was spacious with a comfortable bed , daily fresh linens and a spectacular view Interesting lobby photos show how the family transformed a neglected villa into a warm, inviting setting. The staff could not have not been more gracious. Lorenzo and the front desk staff helped us with directions, expanding our itinerary., making reservations etc. Our dining room host Geraldo anticipated our daily needs with great expedience. His welcoming smile was the perfect way to start and end the day. We stayed for 5 nights. We were sorry to leave as we felt as though they had made us a part of their family. We hope to return their hospitality if they visit the US.
Review 24:There was not one thing we didn't like!
Review 25:The hotel is beautiful. The staff were wonderful-the front desk staff were so accommodating, the lovely man who brought endless cappucinos, the lovely women who cooked "made to order" eggs every morning. Chianti on the gorgeous patio! We would give this hotel the highest rating possible!
Review 26:nothing
Review 27:the views of the Tuscan hills were phenominal! Owner Marco, his wife and aunt and Lorenzo make you feel at home. They served us a fresh omelette even tho we were late for breakfast on our 1st day in Europe. the wine tasting/dinner was exceptional- with a view of the hills from their 2nd floor terrace. Went to mass 200ft from our room
Review 28:for the italian standard is ok, but for international it could be a cleaner, a bit old. Bathrooms are old.
Review 29:Picturesque... typical tuscan location. Close to nice little towns.
Review 30:Husband was in nearby hospital and staff went out of there way to make me comfortable. Even drove me to & from hospital when taxis proved to be unreliable. Food in restaurant was really good.
Review 31:Hotel feels run down & needs major work to bring up to 4 star level claimed.Restaurant closed on our 2nd night, which we were not told when booking. Carpets need replacement or cleaning. A place to avoid !!
Review 32:restaurant meal & breakfast ok, with friendly staff.
Review 33:Beds weren't as comfortable as expected, but this seems to be the standard all over Italy from everywhere we stayed. By photos thought it would be a bit a bit more modernized decor but wasn't, which didn't change our experience. Was still amazing.
Review 34:Great restaurant on site, amazingly helpful staff, great views!
Review 35:Nothing
Review 36:Very nice place, friendly people, terrace restoran with great view of the valley, not la very long and very pleasant drive to Siena and ancient city of San Gimigniano.
Review 37:The staff always went out the way to accomodate all wishes and demands. Guests are allowed to use all facilities at all times and children are especially welcome. The food at the restaurant was delicious and inexpensive. One week at this hotel and you already feel part of the family. Home away from home!
Review 38:The only thing I can think of is the lack of English TV channels, but it didn't bother us as we didn't stay at the villa to watch TV.
Review 39:Staff were very friendly and helpful, arranged taxi for us several times, helped with bus timetable to nearby towns and dinner were absolutely superb! The villa has a warm, unpretentious, family feel to it. Highly recommended for those who wish to properly relax.
Review 40:Decor is a little dated mainly in the bathroom
Review 41:Room (spectacular view as well) Breakfast Pool Staff are fantastic and you really get the felling this a family run business with all staff dedicated to your stay
Review 42:There was nothing i didn't like apart from the mosquitos:)!
Review 43:It was such a wonderful experience staying there. The staff was exceptional, friendly and they would go that extra mile for their guests. They anticipated before asking them for any kind of service. I already miss the place. Such a wonderful location. I would definitely go there again.

Review 81:Great place to be at when you are travelling around the Chianti area - very relaxing - even the church bells were great!
Review 82:Furniture is a little bit old style maybe.
Review 83:Very well connected to the main roads but still in a quite and peaceful location. Very nice view.
Review 84:Food service slow and dinner menu very limited
Review 85:Beautiful building in a superb location with great views. Good choice at breakfast

Review 87:Everything. So relaxing. Mind is chilled.
Review 88:The staff and everything about the place were first class
Review 89:Staff treated us like family. Location was so peaceful and relaxing. The food was great!
Review 90:The food in the restaurant was not to our taste. Very salty and limited menu (two choices for main.) It was worth visiting the restaurant if only for the view.
Review 91:The villa is lovely. The location excellent as a base. The view from the outside courtyard restaurant was beautiful.
Review 92:Room was spacious, but decor needs updating as did most of the public areas.
Review 93:Dinner and include breakfast buffet were excellent. Very attentive service fr friendly staff.
Review 94:No negative feedback.
Review 95:Everything. Very comfortable, beautiful views, food was great, staff very friendly and welcoming and helpful. Couldn't have asked for a better place!
Review 96:Nothing.
Review 97:It was excellent. Friendly and attentive staff. Wonderful breakfast. We were made to feel very welcome. Thanks Lucia and Franco. It was our pleasure to meet you.
Review 98:Nice and large garden surrounds the hotel. Cozy rooms with all facilities. Friendly staff. Great interior of public areas (lounge, library, dinner hall, etc.) Tasty breakfast. Free parking. Nice surrounding views. I was in winter, but in the summer time large sweaming pool is opened.
Review 99:The room needed to be refreshed. Carpet was dowdy and the bed spread a bit worn as was the furniture.
Review 100:An old villa with lots of history. Good location beautiful surroundings. Food was good, lots of variety for breakfast and staff was very friendly and helpful. Large spacious comfortable room.
Review 101:Poggibonsi is between Florence and Siena is very close to each cities. So its a usefull location. However its a ugly city and there is nothing around to see specially at night. I suggest you to it in the hotels restaurant. Because there is nothing around.
Review 102:We have very much enjoyed our stay. The staff was really excellent very helpfull, kind and warm. They made us we feel at home. The breakfast is very good as well specially the home made cakes were delicious. We were very happy during our stay.
Review 103:Beautiful room, lovely view over the Tuscany hills. Diner and breakfast were delicious and affordable. Very friendly staff. A special thanks to Dani, who helped us a great deal with some inconveniences we had.
Review 104:This place was very nice the weather was good so we got to use the pool the food was good in the restaurant and the staff was wonderful and very helpful. It was great for seeing the surrounding area central location.
Review 105:There was nothing about our stay that we did not like.
Review 106:The locatain was good for exploring the area between Siena and Florence. A beautiful building and excellent staff. We were made to feel very welcome.
Review 107:Tea making facilities in the room would be a good addition.
Review 108:Relaxed hotel with extremely friendly and attentive staff. Ideal location for touring Tuscany. Good food and informed staff in the restaurant which has great views over the countryside. Although near the main road traffic noise was not a problem.
Review 109:The place is furnished like a decent 4 stars place, has very nice public areas, but is dirty in the rooms. Be prepared to find traces of spiderwebs on the ceilings and dust under the furniture pieces should you have to move them a bit. The bed linen and towels have a strange sourish smell - most probably, they are stored in a humid place. Breakfast is not impressive: pastry and cereals are a variety, but fresh fruit, cheese and ham are just 1-2 kinds. Eggs on request, although they are offering to cook them the way you want when you come in.
Review 110:The hotel is located out of town in pastoral sorroundings, very quiet. The staff is very friendly. The hotel restaurant offers very decent, nicely cooked food.
Review 111:Air-conditioning in bedroom could be more efficient, the room décor and carpets could be cleaner. Limited comfortable area to relax in during the evening after dinner.
Review 112:Very friendly staff, nothing too much trouble, Great pool. Very good restaurant and excellent wines. Excellent breakfasts too
Review 113:Great location centrally located near Florence, Siena, etc. however you won't spend time in Poggobonsi. But it's a nice oasis from crowds.
Review 114:Food was fabulous, staff very gracious and stunning view.
Review 115:We had to many problems in the beginning. No restaurants and crosery nearby to buy water or needs for the baby and the Hotel restaurant opens first at 7:30 and the breakfast dinning area opens at 7:30 in the morning, wich is late when your baby needs food before that time. It's nesesary to have a car. Don't stay theire if you have smaller children. Many musqitos. Very bad cleaning. The staff don't know what the other staff does. Pool facillitys where poor with may ants and insekts around. No fire escape nearby some of the rooms. Poor breakfast, dried bread and to much cake. It seems that the hotel needs an up-date in many things. We did'nt get value for the money.
Review 116:A stunning view. Some off the staff where very kind and helpfull.
Review 117:The room was very dark and we felt it was expensive compared to other places we have stayed for half the price.
Review 118:The location is great and a wonderful breakfast.
Review 119:There was nothing not to like! If you don't like beautiful food, you wouldn't like it; if you don't like stunning views of Chianti, you wouldn't like it; if you don't like charming people, you wouldn't like it....get my drift???
Review 120:The welcome upon our arrival was just perfect! It was just after lunch but the owner - Marco - who greeted us ushered us through to the dining room and made us something light and delicious, washed down with a bottle of white wine! Marco was the most charming man ever, he and his staff could not have done more to make our 4 days there more perfect. Thank you!
Review 121:Don´t expect too much of the tennis court. More for kids and fun. Needs a shape up for game, set and match.
Review 122:Perfect place in Tuscany, between Florence and Sienna. Friendly staff, clean rooms, nice garden and pool area. Excellent gourmet restaurant (ask for the Brunello wines) and a fantastic view of the Tuscany landscape.
