Review 4：Amazing hosts!! You truly feel like family from the moment you walk up the drive. It's really nice to be in a smaller part of Mandello (about 20mins north of the center) so you get that authentic, "real" Italia feel.

Review 8：Only the weather! The WiFi is also a little hit and miss, but this was true of many properties on our trip.

Review 9：This great value B&B is run by a lovely, patient and extremely helpful couple, who in our short stay couldn't have done more to make us feel at home. Although the location is right on a main road and slightly 'by itself' when it comes to nightlife, there is plenty of charm to be found in the streets around and about, and a train station to Varenna or Lecco from where you can catch a ferry to other sights is a short walk away.

The rooms are really nice and comfortable and the view from them is spectacular. The location's great if you have a car. A rןch homemade fresh breakfast is served every morning. We loved staying in this hotel.

Review 13：Maria and her husband were so nice! The happiest couple. We also met friendly other travelers at this place. It's right next to a gelato shop too!

Review 14：Remember that payment is cash only! I didn't read carefully enough and was surprised when we were ready to check out. Went to the cash machine down the road, no problem, but be prepared for this--it is a common practice of the B & B's.

Review 15：Maria and Pietro were wonderful hosts. Maria had a fabulous breakfast every morning and had information about activities in the area. Pietro was great at directing "traffic" for the car parking.

Review 16：We came across with some language problems, English wasnt always understood at Frontelago so we had to communicate otherwise. Also, there is no harbour for ferries in Olcio, so you have to walk (or go by bikes you can borrow free of charge, or by train) to Mandello or Lierna, both a couple of km away. Time for breakfast was pretty limited, so no sleeping in at Frontelago.

Review 17：The sweet sweet couple running the place was always ready to serve and make our trip even better. Breakfast was wonderful, a real experience with different quests and nationalities coming together to enjoy Italian breakfast. There were delicious Italian home made desserts available every morning! The Frontelago has its own little beach, stony but nice.

Review 20：Small lovely family hotel. Very close to Varena (the best on Como in my opinion) and convenient to explore Como, Bergamo, Milan. Extremely hospitable owners going out of their ways to make your holiday unforgettable and a little bit tired because of the end of season. Tiramisu every morning (I will always remember their taste!!!!). Perfect holiday!!!!! Grazie!!!

Review 22：The position of the hotel was just right. On the lake with beautiful views but just outside the town so quiet. Gelateria nearby was recommended and provided lunch when we arrived. Friendly welcome from Maria and Pietro comfortable clean room and even a balcony. Decor eclectic and interesting. Took lots of photos. Maria very helpful and gave recommendations when asked. A feast of a breakfast eaten with 2 Dutch guests an Italian and a woman from Mexico. We all sat together around a large table groaning under the weight of the numerous freshly prepared dishes. Delicious! No criticisms and from me that doesn't happen often. Definitely recommend and only wish work allowed us to stay longer than just the one night. We'll just have to go back

Review 23：Olcio is a very small hamlet with one train an hour, no ferry and few facilities. Suggest that you need a car if staying more than a day or so as the trains can be infuriating!

Review 25：The rooms was very tidy, and well equipped like a 4*hotel, the breakfast was excellent, the owner is very kind and helpful. The beach was just in front of us. It is a calm place to spend some really nice time. The ferry is just 8 km and then you can reach everything. We would love to return to this place!

Great view of the lake from our window in "the attic" apartment. Quiet location but not far from Varenna and the ferries to Bellagio or Menaggio. Spacious apartment with a good kitchen. Breakfasts were excellent.

The room was very clean and spacious with great views over the lake. The accommodation is about 10 minutes drive to Varenna for the ferry to all the main villages and attractions. They gave some great recommendations on places to visit. There is a good fish restaurant just down the road and a lovely ice cream shop/bar right next door.

They were both so lovely and welcoming and also recommended a fun and cheap place nearby for dinner. Close to Varenna and the ferry. Possible to arrive by train also. LOVED the gelato and coffee bar just nearby. Easy free parking just up the road.

Review 73：Frontelago is a great place. Our apartment was cute and well-furnished. The common rooms were quaint and charming. Maria's breakfast was ample and delicious (mmm... tiramisu). But the greatest asset were definitely our hosts, Maria and Pietro. They were really hospitable, forthcoming and informative. Maria really went above and beyond by driving us to the train station at five in the morning, not once, but twice! (Grazie mille, Maria) We really felt at home! Suffice it to say we are looking forward to future visits.

Review 97：We absolutely loved this B&B. Pietro met us at the train station in Olcio (a lovely surprise!). He and Maria were so lovely and couldn't do enough to look after us. We had the attic room on the top of the house which was spacious and had amazing views of Lake Como. We even had our own kitchen! Pietro and Maria recommended a wonderful local restaurant and also a market in Mandello del Lario (about 5 mins by train or a half hour walk). All in all we cannot speak highly enough of this B & B and have no hesitation in recommending it. Maria makes the most delicious breakfasts and they welcome everyone and make them feel very much "at home".
