Residenza Luce sells fast on our site. Centrally located in Amalfi's historic Piazza del Duomo and within walking distance of the beaches, this full- service B&B still manages to retain the charm and beauty of times past.
The hall and rooms are tastefully decorated, and show their Mediterranean character through their precious details, such as the accessories and the hand-decorated Vietri ceramics and tiles.

Reviews for Residenza Luce

Review 1:Everything was great, espescially the kindness and eagerness of the owner and the stuff as well as the decoration, design and furnishing of the rooms.

Review 2:Easy access, charming design combining traditional Amalfi touches with modern facilities. Arrived midweek and was given choice of room with free upgrade. Very attentive, courteous family. Eager to please and happy to meet any requests. Excellent breakfast.

Review 3:- A tad over the reasonable price point, but hey - it's Amalfi!- Parking 20 euro a day seems too much to me. - Classic Amalfi coast problems (nothing Residenza Luce can be blamed for): No solid beaches within reach, hard to get around (narrow roads and maniac drivers will drive you crazy; motorbike/scooter/boat is recommended), steep walks everywhere, but the scenery is worth it.

Review 4:I am usually more concise, but this stay deserves a detailed review (inenglish, to help the most people decide):- - - - - - - - - - -- - - - - - - - - - -STAFF: 10/10+ Vincenzo and others made us feel like home. The service is professional but at the same time very friendly.- - - - - - - - - - -SERVICE: 10/10+ They have all the services you'd need: porter for your luggage, a valet for your car (who is a funny guy), umbrellas available for you in the lobby, etc.+ The BREAKFAST was the BEST part of it all! You can choose from wide selection of local hams, cheeses, breads, salads, juices, fruits and veggies, 4 or 5 different marmalades, brioches, cereals, cheesecakes, scrambled/boiled eggs, ham-rolls; you name it, they have it! Cappuccino was delicious as well! Plus you are eating on a marvellous rooftop terrace with amazing views!-To be objective: The breakfast was the same every day, but always fresh. Besides, with that much to choose from it is no problem at all.I found a hair in my ham-roll, but that happens.. No biggie here. Really, the breakfast couldn't be better!- - - - - - - - - - -AMENITIES: 10/10+ Beautifully decorated building in mediterranean style with a romantic touch to it - classy!+ Flipflops, bath robe and an ice-bucket with cold Prosecco is awaiting you in your suite -lovely!+ The Junior Suite is spacious, elegant, has a great balcony overlooking the street rumble and a huge shower in the bathroom.+ The bed is very comfortable, if you like harder mattresses.+ Super clean everywhere.+ Wifi ok also for streaming.- - - - - - - - - - -LOCATION: 10/10+ It doesn't get any better than this. Location is an important aspect (especially when looking for a place at Amalfi coast) and this was just PERFECT. You are in the town center, with all the restaurants, shops, places of interest, etc. right under your balcony.

Review 5:There are lots of steps to access the hotel, but lots of willing help to get your luggage up.

Review 6:A delightful family run residenza right in the heart of Amalfi. We received a warm and friendly welcome from everyone. Very good breakfast served on the charming roof terrace (there is an inside area as well). We also had a great dinner at the nearby restaurant L'Abside which is run by this family as well.

Review 7:Very friendly staff, we arrived late night all was prepared we could only park car in front of the hotel! great location in middle of Almalfie! We can only recommend this place!

Review 8:From the friendly welcome (Vincenzo met us at the bus and carried my rucksack back to the Residenza) to the generous breakfast and the gorgeous room - everything was just perfect! This is a seriously elegant place, perfectly placed in Amalfi.

Review 9:Nothing - it was a see less experience.

Review 10:From the moment we drove into town, we were very well taken care of by Vincenze and Lydia. The luggage and car park service is quick and efficient, even into the evening. The rooms are very well appointed, with recently renovated lighting and plumbing of the highest quality. Breakfast was a pleasure to wake up to in the morning as Lydia and Lucia always greeted guests with warmth and even happily allowed me to bring food down to my mom. We were also given excellent restaurant recommendations.

Review 11:Lidia and Vincenzo are wonderful. Planned to stay 1 night and ended staying 4, which seemed too short. Amalfi is the Amafi coast, a great base camp for visiting Positano, Ravello, Capri, etc.

Review 12:Nothing we didn't like

Review 13:A beautiful room with a balcony overlooking the main street but still quiet. Vincenzo and his team are great hosts and most helpful.

Review 14:Stop looking and stay here! We were very torn between staying in town or staying somewhere more remote -- I am SO glad we chose to stay in Amalfi town. For starters, driving on the Amalfi Coast is terrifying (and we have driven all over Europe). I was relieved we didn't need to drive to go out for meals or sightsee. It was also amazing to be in the town at night, when things quiet down and it's lovely to just walk around. The hotel itself is perfect -- luxurious but not overdone. The decor is truly exquisite. We especially enjoyed the balcony overlooking the town square and breakfast on the roofdeck overlooking the cathedral. By far, though, the best part of this place was the staff -- mostly Vicenzo! He made our stay incredible... so genuinely kind and helpful. His family also owns a restaurant nearby so he really knows everything (and everyone) there is to know. He helped us get a boat for a very reasonable price one day, gave us great dinner recommendations, parked our car for us... the list goes on. Seriously -- I am a VERY picky person and this was part of a 30-day Europe trip -- this hotel is wonderful. You really won't be disappointed.

Review 15:The room was great, the location, the breakfast terrace, everything. The family which runs the hotel is very attentive to details and very client oriented.

Review 16:The staff were wonderful and super friendly. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we had, and seemed homemade by the wonderfully sweet Italian woman who runs the place with her son. I also LOVED the balcony off our room which overlooked Amalfi's main square and the duomo.

Review 17:Vincenzo knows everything and is extremely helpful. Our shuttle service from Rome stuffed us around so at the last minute, Vincenzo organised someone to pick us up from Salerno. If that didn't happen, we'd be stranded in a place we wouldn't want to be because there were no buses or boats at the time to take us to the Amalfi. Knowledgeable about tours, accommodating with breakfast times (made it earlier as one of our tours started early) and even gave us a bottle of prosecco to enjoy as we were on our honeymoon! Love this place, highly recommended!!

Review 18:Warm welcome and great advice on what to do, excellent breakfast and really good restaurant next door run by sister of the hotel owner, the best hotel I gave stayed in

Review 19:Vincenzo is running a hotel the way that I want all hotels to be run - friendly, efficient and focused on the needs of his guests personal needs and constraints. From arrival to departure Vincenzo was on hand to assist and I would have stayed longer if he had not been fully booked! Top hotel.

Review 20:Everything, perfect position, very nice and spatious room, diverse and tasty breakfast and especially Vicento the owner which was extremely warm and helpfull

Review 21:A small thing really but slightly uncomfortable mattress although this seems to be the standard in Italy and so perhaps we are just used to softer ones!

Review 22:Staff we're wonderfully helpful and went the extra mile. Location was fantastic.

Review 23:We were greeted by the most amazing people! A lovely Italian mother greeted me with such a warm welcome! My husband went to find parking and Vincenzo found him in the street offering to park the car for him, he was absolutely amazing and couldn't do enough for us. We went to the family restaurant downstairs under Vincenzos recommendation which was sensational. We only had one night which was the only sad thing but we love Almafi and will certainly be back to stay at Luca. What a wonderful place!!!! Carmen & Corey

Review 24:Amazingly nice team! Be sure they will assist you with any kind request. You will be surrounded by absolutely home ambience and atmosphere. Well equipped hotel with all necessary items. Perfect location in very center of Amalfi

Review 25:Perfect location, 2 minute walk from the beach, the most friendly family run hotel I've ever stayed in. Could not fault the staff or the hotel. I would 100% stay again.

Review 26:Great stuff, good location, cute room, and good food for BF! Everyone works there are very friendly and helpful. Everything (Restaurant, Beach, View point) they recommended was all very nice. We definitely will book this hotel again next time when we go to Amalfi :)

Review 27:Staff and owners were terrific and friendly - doing everything possible to help. Property is right off the main square and near beach and transport. Very large, comfortable room.

Review 28:Nothing. Everything was great.

Review 29:The hotel is lovely. It is clean, really nicely fitted. The staff were amazing. It felt homely rather than a hotel, but rooms were fitted like a good hotel - comfy bed and nice big sofa and beautiful and bright with natural light. It is right in the middle of the Main Street, but for sleeping the room was quiet and dark. We even had our washing done and it was all folded and lovely in our room the next day.

Review 30:The upstairs bed was very hard But the downstairs bed was perfect

Review 31:The staff was amazing So very helpful and kind and welcoming Excellent location to see amalfi Excellent breakfast Lydia and vinchensa were so awesome Would recommend this hotel to all

Review 32:We found the bed a little hard for our liking.

Review 33:Location was Perfect, right in the middle town. Vincenzo and Lydia were amazing, they couldn't have been more helpful. Room was great, loft style with plenty of space.

Review 34:Nothing

Review 35:Vincenzo and Carmen were so lovely! We felt like family staying at Residenza Luce. The room was very clean and comfortable. Vincenzo was extremely helpful making restaurant reservations and booking our transport back to naples airport (for a 4am journey!) Make sure you try L'abside (the restaurant next door). We had our best meal in italy there!

Review 36:Vincenzo, Lydia, Luisa and all the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The location was perfect and breakfast on the sunny terrace was great. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Review 37:The location, the cleanliness and comfort, the breakfast choices are all superb, but what make Residenza Luce are the people. Vincenzo, Lydia and the rest of the team are outstanding. They will really make your holiday.

Review 38:We like everything!

Review 39:Everything was perfect. Vincenzo and Lidia are very nice people. Thank you very much to make our stay so nice. I strongly recommend it!

Review 40:We stayed in Amalfi for 3 nights! Vincenzo who runs Residenze Luce was an amazing host and everything he could to make our stay amazing. This bed and breakfast is more like a boutique hoteland the room we stayed in was amzaing. Great location in the centre of town, right next to the Duomo and 3 mins from the beach! Thank you Vincenzo and the staff for an amazing and unforgettable stay in Amalfi!

Review 41:The location was perfect and the staff were wonderful couldn't have been more welcoming & helpful! If I ever go back to Amalfi I'd definetly stay here again!

Review 42:The overwhelming happiness and helpfulness of the entire staff. While there are some stairs to initially climb, the owners helped with the luggage to the elevator, so no worries. Arrival and parking handled well. View from the breakfast room fabulous as were the breakfasts. Wouldn't stay where else. And did I mention the restaurant? Wow.

Review 43:There is not one thing that we didn't like about our stay. Absolutely perfect.

Review 44:We enjoyed every element of our stay. The staff at Residenza Luce were outstanding. Such a lovely family. The hotel is spotlessly clean and beautiful.

Review 45:Awesome Italian family experience. We never felt this welcomed in any of the 5 stars hotels we've been to. Lovely family, great rooms, nice view, excellent location, excellent breakfast. Thanks to Ms. Lidea and Mr. Francesco for all the efforts in helping us, the warm welcome and our honeymoon gift & surprise. A hint for all - look no more for other hotels, this is the true experience of living among the locals with an unforgettable warmth and highest quality. We will definitely come back .

Review 46:No complaints whatsoever. Everything was fantastic!

Review 47:They went above and beyond. Extremely helpful, wonderful facilities. Wouldn't think twice about going back or recommending to family and friends. Excellent stay!

Review 48:It is a perfect place to stay in Amalfi. Great location and great breakfast. But the most important thing are the wonderful and helpful owners who made everything to help us and solve our problems. Thank you!

Review 49:When we checked in we were told they wanted us to feel like family and we really did, everyone was so nice and friendly. The location is perfect and we enjoyed the view from our balcony. The whole place has beautiful tile floors and is very nicely furnished. We loved our stay.

Review 50:The stairs inside the entrance of property.

Review 51:Excellent service hospitality of the family running this property. Mr Vincenzo was so kind to meet us in our car when we arrived and assist us to the location, take the rental car to the parking and help carrying our lugggage

Review 52:The whole experience of staying here was perfect, airport transfer arranged, greeted from the taxi and room was perfect. We were on our honeymoon and it was as good as the other reviews have said - our thanks to Vincenzo and family.

Review 53:We stayed in the Amalfi Coast for three nights and had a wonderful stay at Residenza Luce. The family and owners were extremely helpful and courteous, catering to our needs and helping us during our entire time there. The rooms were very clean and were maintained with great character. The property is also located in a very convenient location where you can visit the main sites in Amalfi, and was one of the best properties in the area to stay. Highly, highly recommended for anyone staying in the Amalfi Coast!

Review 54:Lots of stairs, (typical in the area) made life tricky as i had an injured foot, but the staff tried their very best to accomodate me.

Review 55:Great friendly staff, very central, good room

Review 56:quite expensive but cheap for area I guess...slightly uncomfortable beds...sofa bed especially...NO English channels...

Review 57:location was amazing...good breakfast...nice owners...jacuzzi

Review 58:We loved the location, and the hospitality. Everything was above and beyond what we expected. Well above an average stay, and we would definitely stay here again!

Review 59:No negative experiences.

Review 60:The staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming. The hotel is in an excellent location in the lovely town of Amalfi, and was an ideal base for our exploring the Amalfi Coast and Naples. The room was comfortable and elegant, with traditional ceramic tiling and furnishing. Breakfast was excellent and lavish. Powerful hot shower in the bathroom. We couldn't have hoped for a better place to stay.

Review 61:Nothing bad to say about the hotel. But be aware that there are a lot of steps in Amalfi.

Review 62:Excellent hotel in a very good location. The room we stayed in was well furnished ,clean and had everything you needed including a reasonably priced minibar. Vincenzo and everyone else in the hotel were very friendly and helpful.

Review 63:- A bit too warm in the upper level of the 2 level suite

Review 64:- The friendly helfpul staff - The location - The cleanliness - The overall comfort - The quality of breakfast

Review 65:We stayed for 6 nights. The location is perfect, in the centre of Amalfi. We enjoyed people watching from our balcony. The room was light and airy with a large bathroom and bed. The staff were very friendly and kind. There was a huge breakfast selection and we had an early breakfast on our last morning. Even our washing was done each day. We really didnt want to leave.

Review 66:Absolutelity nothing.

Review 67:Vincenzo made us feel really welcome. He help us with our lost luggage in AirPort and thank to him we recovered it. The breakfast are very good and The Brigida's cakes are delicious.

Review 68:If you are driving in, parking is challenging (especially if your arrive at night), but that is not a fault of the hotel, it is just Amalfi. It is difficult to drive into the heart of town with your car unless you really know the area. But the owner of the hotel was great and he met us out in front of the town by the sea wall and took our car to the parking garage and helped us with our bags, so he more than made up for any parking challenges. When we were ready to check out, he had our car waiting for us across the street from the hotel, so that made check out easy.

Review 69:The owner is amazing. Very accommodating and entertaining to talk to. He helped us plan our activities and gave us great maps. The property is right in the heart of Amalfi. Rooms are renovated and clean and comfortable. Room was quiet. Excellent breakfast served up on the rooftop terrace. I am glad we found this property.

Review 70:Residenza Luce is a great place to stay. Not only is it in the centre of Amalfi (and easy to get to from the bus stop), but the rooms are fantastic, and both Vincenzo and Lidia are wonderful. They treated us like family, and I wouldn't hesitate to go book again. I look forward to going back someday!

Review 71:The position is great, just up from the town square. Vincenzo, the owner, was very friendly and recommended restaurants to eat at and two great walks to do.

Review 72:Nothing - this place is great.

Review 73:The staff (Lidia and owner Vincenzo) are so helpful and friendly - they really go above and beyond. Breakfast was so good, included and best hotel breakfast in Italy. The view from the balcony (of the cathedral) is awesome Amalfi is a great place to see Ravello is nearby, so is Positano. In walking distance of great shops and restaurants.

Review 74:Nothing at all.

Review 75:The service and staff were so friendly and accommodative. The location was excellent, only a few minutes away from the seafront and right off the main street of the town, near all the shops and restaurants. The room was amazing. Great balcony view. Fantastic breakfast on the roof terrace. Very comfortable bed. This place is really second to none!

Review 76:the climbing to the loby with multiple steps and no elevator, can be challenging.

Review 77:Excellent location, preferably on the top floor rooms. Staff are lovely.

Review 78:The location is perfect, just metres away from the Duomo, and 5 minutes walk to the beach. The staff are amazingly friendly and generous. The room we stayed in was large, and beautifully decorated with gorgeous Italian tiles. We had a lovely view of the street from the balcony that overlooked the main square. We were a young couple, but Vincenzo has many options for all types of bookings - we plan on bringing our family here next year for a week. Book it!

Review 79:We very much liked the location that is close to everything we needed, Vincenzo and Carmen were very helpful and very friendly and really all the staff members were friendly (forgot the name of the cleaning lady and the breakfast ladies). The room was comfortable and clean. I highly recommend this hotel.

Review 80:The stairs is a bit of a hike, but not really an issue

Review 81:Centrally located to all sorts of activities - e.g. Duomo, beach, hiking the Valley of the Mills & beyond, bus terminal to other areas on the coast, ferry to Capri, etc. Vicenzo & his staff go out of their way to ensure guests are comfortable. Our was adorable with the wrap around balcony (we think it was the best of all rooms); convenient for relaxing evening, zipping a glass of wine, & watching people mill around the street. All the amenities were much appreciated - e.g. Wifi, good size bathroom with modern amenities. The room & location is actually better than the online pictures. We ended up extending our stay for an extra night. We would definitely stay at Residenza Luce again.

Review 82:Excellent location and very good service! The hotel is located in the hearth of the old city (which is important in all the resorts at Amalfi coast). The staff and the owner are kind and very supportive and friendly. The breakfast was fantastic, with amazing view to the Duomo and the main square. We really had a great stay in Residenza Luce.

Review 83:All the staff were fantastic and went out of their way to ensure our stay was a great experience. Location is perfect. Double glazed windows cut out all street noise.

Review 84:There were many numbers of steps to the hotel front. I was tired with caryying my heavy lugage there. We stayed 4 nights , but, breakfast menu had almost no variation.

Review 85:Generraly, good. The best location for sightseeing.

Review 86:I liked everything.

Review 87:Everything. From the comfortable bright room to the lovely staff that treated me like family. They were very helpful with arranging my tours. Great position in Amalfi

Review 88:No English language TV channels.

Review 89:Management (Vincenzo) gladly facilitated all our requests, including hiking maps and special transportation needs for a mobility-impaired parent. Rooms were comfortable with modern facilities. Breakfast on roof deck was tasty and charming, with views of cathedral. We had a very pleasant stay. Highly recommend.

Review 90:We loved everything! Transfer from bus stop, the location, beautiful hand painted tiles throughout our room, the superb breakfast venue, we can't say enough about this hotel. Vincenzo, Carmen and staff made us feel so at home here. Nothing was any bother. Vincenzo booked our tours and gave us great advice. Carmen went beyond helpful. The restaurant (l'Abside) recommended was great. Even our washing was like Mum had done it. Fantastic memories.

Review 91:NOTHING at all!

Review 92:The hotel has 10 rooms, very nice decorated. The breakfast is really good and served in the terrace that has a beautiful view. The location is excellent, just in the center of Amalfi, and a great advantage is that is very easy to find it and you don't have to climb stairs as the rest of the hotels in the amalfi coast. The hotel staff, specially Carmen, Vincenzo and Lidia are AWESOME! they will do everything to make your stay unforgettable! It was my birthday and they brought us a free bottle of champagne. Do not hesitate to book this hotel, do it now!! Free wifi also.

Review 93:Great location in the heart of Amalfi, excellent breakfast and the porter service was great. Special mention must go to the host Vincenzo who went above and beyond to help us locate a missing bag which we misplaced upon arrival. He was up at 2am assisting us with our lost bag (the bag was eventually found) this would not have happened without Vincenzo's excellent customer service!

Review 94:Residenza Luce is located at the heart of town and an excellent base for all around Amalfi coast. It is a family run hotel and has an outstanding staff who do their best to make your stay enjoyable and comfortable. Hotel has an amazing interior design and large rooms. The breakfast was fresh and delicious. Carmen and Vincenzo helped us arranging every single detail of our Amalfi coast trip. Again many thanks to Carmen, Vincenzo and Vincenzo's Mother-in-Law. Strongly recommended!!!

Review 95:Vinchenza and Carmen met us in the square when our taxi pulled up. They helped us with our bags to our room...which was spotless and had a balcony overlooking a quiet street, just a few doors from the square in front of the Cathedral. The staff were very helpful, advising us on where to eat, shop, visit...and the breakfast on the top floor has a gorgeous terrace with views of the sea, and Cathedral. The food at breakfast was excellent as well.

Review 96:We had a fantastic stay at the Residenza Luce. A very unique experience. The owner was very attentive to our needs and went out of his way to ensure we had a fantastic stay. The Restaurant recommendations were also great! We had our transport arranged when we left to another resort by the owner which was very cost effective and comfortable. I would highly recommend this Boutique Hotel! We will return one day! Joanne and Jim Brentnall

Review 97:I cannot find anything wrong...I can't wait to go back and will stay in this lovely hotel!

Review 105:Comfortable, clean and friendly! Perfect location in the center of Amalfi.
