Reviews for Hotel La Ninfa

Review 1:nothing

Review 2:Me and my Mother stayed and extended two more days What an incredible Hotel in Amalfi Best View ever Friendly Staff Nice Breakfast What a Lovely Room Design Hossein Shamloo Tehran, Iran

Review 3:Our room had no windows or fan or air-conditioning/ heat. It was claustrophobic because of lack of air. I left the door open to the hallway except when I was undressed, but was very hot all night.

Review 4:on the water with a great view

Review 5:We felt that the breakfast selection was seriously lacking. I have no problem with a continental breakfast, but we were only offered sweet stuff - nothing savoury. Breakfast was pretty much chocolate cereal, sweet croissants, chocolate spread, jam, and cakes.

Review 6:Great views from our balcony, and the main Amalfi centre is about a 15 min walk.

Review 7:Single beds were a little small for 6+ foot guys. A bit of a walk to/from the town, but there is a bus that runs past the front of the hotel. Taxis are a bit over priced to use often.

Review 8:Nice views of the coast line from reception/dining area. Good price for the Amalfi area.

Review 9:- It is about 20 minutes by foot from Amalfi center - Breakfast could be more varied, not only sweet meals

Review 10:- Awsome view from the room - Nice homely hotel - You can hear sound of sea waves and watch sunrise from bed

Review 11:We reserve a parking up front when we book.Private parking is possible on site (reservation is needed-) and charges are applicable- It was not available as the car park was closed and we have struggle to find out where to park for "free". Only after they tow away out rental car- with a huge fine to pay- we manage to get the correct info on where we can park for free - This is misleading on the booking confirmation.

Review 12:The view from the room

Review 13:The room can be cleaner and be provided with toiletries such as tooth brush and tooth paste.

Review 14:Strategic location, walking distance to Amalfi town. Good view. Decent breakfast. English speaking and helpful staff.

Review 15:It is about 30 minutes walk from town along a very narrow road.

Review 16:It was located on the top of a cliff with great ocean views. It had access to a small beach.

Review 17:Our bedroom did not have a window. It had only a door and 4 walls whichwere shocking for a hotel selling it with a good view and we were stillcharged the full price. We booked the room 4 months in advance but itdid not help our case. Breakfast was very modest and we had to goelsewhere for a breakfast. Hotel did not have a permanent receptionistand it was self-service with the keys. We were told to leave the keyshanging in an open view area at the self-service reception with keysclearly marked with room numbers which was just shocking. We were onlyallowed to take the hotels main door entry keys when going out and theclearly marked room keys were left hanging in clear view for anyone totake at self-service reception. I would definitely not recommend or gothere again.

Review 18:Nothing.

Review 19:The hotel was a good 20 minutes walk along the side of a small road (mainly with no footpath) into Amalfi. The bus wasn't as easy to catch as we had thought, it came infrequently and was absolutely packed so for us we ended up walking most times which felt a bit dangerous on the tiny road! The breakfast was very basic and mainly sweet cakes and doughnuts, could definitely be improved. also the housekeeping was inconsistent, our towels were only replaced one of three nights.

Review 20:Beautiful room and decor of the hotel. We had a superior room that also had a lovely view. Modern and clean bathroom.

Review 21:simple and tiny room no big sign of the hotel. It was hard to find the hotel. had to ask local where is it even thoug it is right on the main street

Review 22:location is good amasing sea view from the window clean water on the beach one famous grotte is just 3 km away you have to burn callories a lot to get the beach (long stairs)

Review 23:Breakfast includes only sweet things. This may be disappointing for people who prefers a salty breakfast. Internet is almost not working. There is not enough shelf/wardrobe for the clothes. We had to keep our stuff in the luggage.

Review 24:it is possible to walk to the center of Amalfi in 15 min. It is a good option considering limited public transportation. Staff is nice. We enjoyed the panorama during the breakfast and the sunset. There is a beach very close to the hotel.

Review 25:Staff were only around if you were lucky enough to catch them at breakfast and generally Italy has poor customer service and they don't speak much English. The location was on a hill and you need to get a bus into town otherwise you need to walk however there are no footpaths to walk on so you have to take the risk of not getting hit by cars, buses and vespas.

Review 26:The room had aircon which is pretty standard, the view at breakfast was great.

Review 27:The economy rooms are all off of the corridor where the breakfast is served and, as the doors are glass with metal frames and so not very soundproof, were woken up every morning at 7am when they started getting breakfast ready. The staff weren't very helpful or friendly. I emailed the hotel to ask about the bus stop before we arrived but got no reply. We were quizzed as to who we were and why we were there before we were let in on arrival. And we were given the worst of the economy rooms (right behind the bar so next to the coffee machine!) even though we were staying 4 nights - the longest of any other guests we saw - and other economy rooms were available (he nearly gave us another when I expressed concern about being next to the bar but he seemed reluctant and told us the one behind the bar was fine re noise anyway and I, admittedly stupidly, accepted that.

Review 28:Really beautiful hotel - all the decorations and furnishings are so well thought out and make it really charming and romantic. The location - clinging to the mountainside and right above a nice beach (better than Amalfi beach - tourists were being offloaded from boats from other towns) a bit outside the hussle and bustle of Amalfi itself. The bus running all along the coast from Sorrento to Amalfi stops about 200 metres away. We found the walk to/from Amalfi fine (15-20 minutes uphill) - the views along the way were amazing. Although there weren't pavements all the way, it's just the way things are done there. We even walked down the hill to Amalfi with our suitcases when we left with no problems. Breakfast was copious and pretty good - fresh/warm croissants at least sometimes.

Review 29:The beds could be more comfortable.

Review 30:I loved our room with the balcony! It was the best way to end a gorgeous day in Amalfi. The staff were so very helpful and accommodating. Made us feel welcome and so friendly. Thanks Hotel La Ninfa

Review 31:Parking can be a little bit tricky and the room we had was a bit small.

Review 32:The view from our room was spectacular, only topped by the view we had from the breakfast room! Everything was good and clean, the bathroom was modern.

Review 33:No outside food allowed. Uncomfortable beds Tiny bathrooms Not fresh breakfast No nearby eating options , do a hike down to Amalfi to get food.

Review 34:View from breakfast area Excellent girl taking care in breakfast area On bus route to Possiano from Amalfi

Review 35:1. Hotel La ninfa is very noisy. 2. Room is very cold(I had a cold because 1 day I stay La ninfa hotel!) 3. Hotel manager was didn't kind -> I pushed bell at the door, but anyone open the door! At these reasens Hotel la ninfa is terrible place.

Review 36:A little warm in our room, even for winter

Review 37:Amazing sea views, he even helped me figure out reverse in my tricky manual rental car. Yummy breakfast included

Review 38:our room was separate from the rest of the hotel and we had to walk down a very busy road to go back and forth there was no direct phone connection to the hotel if there was a problem breakfast left a bit to be desired

Review 39:the view the room was comfortable wifi worked most of the time the cost was excellent

Review 40:The "hotel" is noting more than a old house turned into a place for people to stay.. our room was situated directly in the breakfast area (which is the reception as well.. and the main hallway) behind a small bar. The doors are 2 glass transparent doors with a curtain. We said we didnt like the room as we could ear everything specially when they are getting the breakfast ready around 6am but they told us we paid for the cheapest room and thats it. We said we will pay anything extra but without success. Even if you lock the doors, simply a good push would break them open and there is no safe in the room (and no staff in the hotel most part of the time) so beware of your valuable. Excessivly expensive parking. 1 building out of 2 over there is a hotel..better check somewhere else.

Review 41:Location was close to the center of Amalfi. View from the breakfast room is breathtaking.

Review 42:We were after something a little different from the Amalfi Coast so we hired scooters in Sorrento and Rode around to Amalfi ( Great Fun) and we took the self contained Apartment away from the main hotel ( well over 100 stairs) once your there there is no coming down take your eats and drinks with you, the view is exceptional and and facilities were very clean and tidy and the service when we arrived and at breakfast was excellent and very helpful. Do this unit if you are reasonably fit and want some space to yourselves and a great private balcony and view.

Review 43:Hotel is about 20 minute walk on narrow road to Amalfi - but this was fine/expected.

Review 44:The view from the lobby/breakfast table - superb!!. Good value and clean. Will consider return trip to hotel.

Review 45:The room pictures are very deceiving!!!! We stayed in the triple room and the picture makes it appear that your room has a lovely window and view but this is not the case. The room was internal and there wasn't a window at all. You could hear all of the noise during breakfast and throughout the evening if you were in your room. The shower if you could call it that was the worst shower I ever used. No consistent temperature and the water is basically a trickle! The staff at the hotel, one girl in particular wasn't really impressed with assisting and didn't go out of her way what so ever to make us feel welcome. We managed to get a smile on the last day but I think that was because we were two less tourists to deal with. Average breakfast too, nothing but sweets and stale cereal. We wouldn't recommend staying here. If you do however decide to, make sure you stay in a room with a window at least.

Review 46:The hotel has a nice view from the breakfast area. Maurice the host greeted us on the first day which was nice but other than this that's about it.

Review 47:Signage not very visible and was hard to find, especially with the narrow busy road adjacent to the hotel.

Review 48:The view; the location; the availability of parking.

Review 49:This is definitely not an hotel. It is really a B&B. Staff not always there and not always helpful. If you book a "Classic room" be aware that there is not window but only glass doors to the reception corridor which has the views seen on the web site. Breakfast poor even by Italian standards and the girl on breakfast duty both mornings very unhelpful - couldn't even russell up a little cold milk for tea or even water hot enough to brew the tea bags!

Review 50:The views are stunning and location fine - a 15 min walk into Amalfi ( downhill) and the local bus will bring you back to right outside.

Review 51:The bed was very hard and uncomfortable, and there was no protein for breakfast. The good outweighed these things by far however!

Review 52:Maurizio the owner was so kind! He parked our car for us, gave us an adapter when ours didn't work, and took very good care of us since we were on our honeymoon. The view from our beautiful white room with a balcony onto the Mediterranean (separate from the main hotel) was stunning. The gorgeous breakfast area was open to the sea as well. They have their own beach below the cliff, and it's only a 15 min walk downtown - we fell in love with all of it. The pictures on the website are a completely accurate representation!

Review 53:We chose the hotel based on the view from the windows and decided to pay a little more for this hotel to get that view - and we got a room without a window at all! Very disappointing. + 2 of the other staff members, were not that accommodating and hardly spoke english at all.

Review 54:The view is amazing! And 2 of the staff members were really accommodating

Review 55:Breakfast is limited. Not bad, but I would expect more for this price.

Review 56:The amazing views The fantastic and friendly hosts. Location near Amalfi. Private parking. Fantastic private beach. Everything!

Review 57:We enjoyed the stay at La Ninfa. Perfect location, very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, nice beach below the hotel. We can recommend a stay to everybody visiting Amalfi.

Review 58:No hand soap or dishwashing liquid. No towel replacements even though we were there for a week.

Review 59:In the annex apartment. Good privacy, amazing views and good cooking facilities.

Review 60:Bed was not comfortable. Breakfast was put out early, bread went hard. Beaches average to poor.

Review 61:View, location.

Review 62:No parking, very expencive to park at organized parking, 20€ per night!

Review 63:The veiw

Review 64:The size of the room

Review 65:The sea view

Review 66:View was spectacular! Breakfast was good at a good location.

Review 67:It was comfortable and affordable. Location worked for what we wanted to do.

Review 68:no parking. and the staff dosnt hold tickits for the bus to go out from the hotel

Review 69:the staff was very kind. the sinary is butiful.very clean

Review 70:There is nothing...,

Review 71:This was the second time there but still absolutely PERFECT!

Review 72:The bed could have been a little more comfy.

Review 73:The location and view.

Review 74:Owners and Staff are great. Sea view is magnificent. The steps to the beach really tightened up my calves.

Review 75:Amazing view when you pay for it- get the room with the view of the water! Absolutely worth the extra money!

Review 76:Friendliest Staff. Amazing views of Amalfi

Review 77:All went well

Review 78:Helpful staff. Good price. Breakfast over looking the Amlfi coast. Interesting room that opens out onto the breakfast area.

Review 79:To close to the street

Review 80:The great view

Review 81:Very small for a superior room little space for clothes and suitcases

Review 82:Views and location

Review 83:Not sound proof as mentioned in description, average breakfast with limited options

Review 84:Big room, great view, friendly staff, great wifi, clean

Review 85:The view, peaceful and quiet place to stay, lovely room, the view from the room - right at the sea, woke up by the waves.

Review 86:None

Review 87:Comfortable room with the view of the ocean, so relaxing place.

Review 88:cleanesse to be improved

Review 89:wonderfull location

Review 90:Sound insulation between breakfast room and room 2 was poor

Review 91:The view from the breakfast room was breath-taking, clean, nice breakfast, friendly staff

Review 92:Breakfast (only sweet; pretty simple).

Review 93:Great view!!! The hotel is a good place to stay and relax. Close to a private (but payed) beach.

Review 94:No room or a dresser to put your cloths..only one tiny closet...

Review 95:The staff was great...the view unbelievable

Review 96:The conditions of the construction does not protect the customer from heat. No parking.

Review 97:Stunning view to the Mediterraneum.

Review 98:Included breakfast was very poor ....admittedly I ate toward the end of the breakfast period but was very disappointed.

Review 99:Awesome views and location ...

Review 100:Leaving.... :(

Review 101:Beautiful view from room, friendly staff, clean and delicious breakfast.

Review 102:Extremely helpful and friendly staff.

Review 103:Impossible to find a park. Very limited selection of breakfast

Review 104:The customer service was above and beyond! The view in the morning for breakfast was amazing!

Review 105:Dirty apartment - window frames, light fittings etc. not been cleanedfor a very long time. Mould on wall, in closet and in shower; showerleaked all over floor; 2 metal chairs + 2 cushions with nowhere else tosit - most uncomfortable; Very small apartment; no drawers so had toleave clothing in one large case; damp patches on walls in severalplaces; No staff contact whatsoever, apart from when we arrived and weretaken to our apartment. Nobody asked if all was ok and we left by simplyleaving our key in the hotel; No local information in our room E.G.sites to see, bus timetables etc. which is usually the norm. Facilitiesin main building was just a breakfast terrace, no lounge etc. Would weever return or recommend La Ninfa? No, no, no!!!!!

Review 106:Stunning view from apartment window (room 8 in separate building fromhotel); Wi-Fi; Excellent breakfast croissants; a friendly gecko!

Review 107:Narrow winding staircase to go down our bedroom.

Review 108:Location location location! The view of the Mediterranean is awesome. Very accommodating owner. Value for the money great. Room clean and very functional even if small. Went to eat to a restaurant recommended by owner and we were picked up from our hotel. Food great, ambiance very nice. Will go back.

Review 109:Room without windows. Way to Amalfi along main road, so walking is a bit dangerous.

Review 110:Nice view of the coast from breakfast area. Bus stop in front of the hotel.

Review 111:shower was a bit small, so you could only face 1 way to shower. breakfast menu is sweet only, would have liked plain food choice and so fruit. Otherwise the hotel is great.

Review 112:Hotel Nifa is located on the main road from Sorrento to Amalfi on the right hand side when driving to Amalfi. You can just get off the bus just before at the Cafe Pizza shop, or just ater the hotel. Amazing views.

Review 113:Long walk up steep stairs to room. No staff spoke English, even though advertised. No one there to check us out or help us with facilities, like the beach. Barely any hot water.

Review 114:Nothing. Except the guy who saw us in, he was very helpful.

Review 115:I didn't like the fact that the breakfast buffet contained onlysweet things. It should have salty things as well!!!

Review 116:I liked the location...! It was amazing to have the sea underneath yourfeet. I also liked the fact that it was near Amalfi and not in it. Thewalk to the village made somebody feel he or she was a local!!!

Review 117:Hard to find!

Review 118:We were absulutly happy to stay at Ninfa hotel where we were found the owners and the stuff nice and supporting togather with the comfortable room and faciclitis. The view from our room and while having breakfast is amazing!

Review 119:Our roon very cramped but didn't have balcony. Little clothing storage. When asking for bill to pay for drinks & the local town taxes. The manager said he would call to find out. He misunderstood, called for a Taxi. We had to pay half of the call out ,which was €15. Not good that we should pay for his misunderstanding. No staff available after breakfast.

Review 120:Wonderful views overlooking the sea& great walk down into the town. Lemon groves and fabulous plants to be seen on all terrasses, but be cateful of traffic! La Ninfa is kept very clean.

Review 121:Lack of a restaurant for afternoon and evening meals. Lack of english language television channels to at least keep abreast of world affairs. Really more of a bed and breakfast than a hotel.

Review 122:The view is incredible and the ambiance of the hotel is enchanting. This is a hotel for lovers. The morning breakfast of pastries and juice and cappucino while overlooking the sea.

Review 123:The location is a problem. There is a bus, but not often and doesn't run late at night. The wifi didn't work. The sea view was not so great. You can only see the other side of the town.

Review 124:The staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 125:The breakfast was appalling - dry cakes, stale bread, no butter, not enough croissants to go around, no cold milk, owners not available to talk to.

Review 126:The view was magnificent The bedroom was fine The location was convenient for Amalfi.

Review 127:Parking was a bit tight but really worked out ok once you understand that they don't tow your car even if it says no parking along the road.

Review 128:The location and the view was amazing! The walk to downtown Amalfi was about 15 to 20 minutes.

Review 129:The approach to room was through small spiral stairs, mind u I mean really small, we had 2 bags not that big and it was difficult to get the bags to the rooms. So if its a bigger bag u'l have a real tough time. The bathroom was outside the room, which was a put off although it was a private one.

Review 130:We stayed here for a day, Amalfi is a beautiful place w.r.t. the hotel Staf was ok, approach of the room was through a small spiral staircase, Room was clean n tidy with a fridge, also complimentary wi-fi which was somewhat weak. View from the window of the room was breathtaking over-looking the sea.

Review 131:Nothing

Review 132:Typically Italian, built in to a cliff, seven rooms four have lovely sea views, a window covers rhe whole length of the hotel, overlooking the sea. The staff are friendly, arranged cars to a local restaurant and taxi,s for us. Beautiful location, good value for money.

Review 133:Walking up and down the road to get to breakfast (not far but a bit dangerous!)and if we walked into Amalfi. Visitors must be aware that this hotel is about 1km outside Amalfi up a hill along a main road. There are some pedestrian sections but sometimes blocked by parked cars or motorbikes. The buses stop nearby.

Review 134:The room we were first allocated was too small for 2 people for 4 nights, but had great views. You could only get out of one side if the bed, with a single wardrobe and one drawer. The manager helpfully moved us to a bigger room down the road. Good views and more space. the views from the breakfast room are fabulous.

Review 135:No food or drink facilities apart from the inclusive breakfast and a mini bar in the room. Rooms are directly off breakfast area so can hear other guests quite easily from your room.

Review 136:Good location, just a 15/20minute walk into Amalfi and right next to Sita bus stops. Great view from the breakfast area. Comfortable bed and pillows!

Review 137:About 1,5 km to Amalfi, its not far, however the hotel should specify it somehow. Breakfast. It isn't even continental: yoghurt, coffee, juice, bread, jam and croissant is all you can in the morning. Then get used to a room with no window unless you are going to spend more money on luxe. Needless to say that it will be stuffy without window at night. And last, but not least: forget about privacy if your room is right in the breakfast room and the only thing that separates you is a thick door. Whatsoever, its up to you to decide, whether consider all the above saying as minuses or just whining.

Review 138:Friendly and helpful staff, good value for money. By the way, no problem with ants as it was stated in the previous reviews.

Review 139:If you don't speak Italian you could struggle. But I am sure youwould be fine. It is about 3km from the centre of Amalfi which wedidn't realise. Once you get there though it is a nice walk butcareful as there isn't much of a pavement.

Review 140:I liked the view from the room, the staff were pleasant and they did anice breakfast. Also the room was nice and clean and well decorated.
