Reviews for Residenza Antica Canonica
Review 1:There was no air conditioning, and we arrived at a very hot time, but the fans provided were sufficient for all of us to be very comfortable. We were sad to have only stayed one night but we will return! Thank you Elisa!!
Review 2:Loved everything - great character, quiet, clean, great space, great location. Elisa was excellent to deal with and a pleasure to meet.
Review 3:No breakfast, not the best self catering. Poor price - quality Not clean and very outdated bathroom. Lamps not working. Hardly any cutlery
Review 4:Nice location friendly reception (when there)
Review 5:Maybe the furnishings are a little minimal for English taste (?) but this is not really a criticism...
Review 6:From a rather modest entrance the lift takes you up to a magnificent old hallway, the apartments all lead off this. The building seems to be part of the cathedral and is very spacious. Citta is a lovely old town, well worth exploring. The manager - Elisa - is friendly, helpful, enthusiastic, and charming.
Review 7:Wifi was patchy, but to be expected when going through thick stone walls.
Review 8:Loved the apartment. Close to everything especially Lea's place for dinner. Would have liked to stay longer.
Review 9:Nothing
Review 10:Antique building combined with modern comfort Location; near cathedral in historic center Free parking on 5 minute walk Friendly and enthousiastic manager Quiet and spacious appartments Citta di castello is a very nice town
Review 11:Generally poorly equipped apartment. Not possible to sit in the tiny sofa and switch channels on the tiny TV two meters away because of poor range of remote control. Very few power outlets, so had to choose between TV and light. The apartment has probably never been cleaned properly since it was renovated (years ago). We found small wall bugs behind the sofa on a hunt for power outlets, had to fight spiders and a huge beetle visiting our bathroom, and our smallest child was bitten by fleas probably originated from the many pigeons living on the roof of the apartment. Not possible to cook proper meals in kitchen (couldn't fit two normal size casseroles at one time). Noisy, night life sounds until midnight and birds on roof from early morning. Hot, no air-condition. Bad air, no insect nets over windows. Too dark, even with all the lights on and open windows on a sunny day. All garbage in Citta di Castello has to be sorted for recycling, but there was only one (1) bin in the kitchen. This apartment was NEVER built to live in.
Review 12:Went there with two smaller children, stayed 6 nights in apartment number nine (Prestige apartment). The landlord, Elisa, was very friendly and helpful, the price is reasonable, large apartment (we had three bedrooms and two bathrooms), located right in the center of the old town of Citta di Castello.
Review 13:The General Manager - Elisa - is extremely helpful and a very warm person. You get a one bedroom apartment in the center of town. Citta de Castello is on the border of Umbria and Tuscany. The surrounding area is very nice.
Review 14:The Wifi is a little dodgy: it really only works in the near vicinity of the office, and even then it cuts out sometimes (small router+thick stone walls=not the best Wifi situation)
Review 15:This hotel has it all: authentic Italian feel, a great hostess in Elisa, beautiful decor, clean linens and a great price. Citta di Castello is kind of an unknown spot, but the historical center is beautiful, and you could not ask for a better place to stay and explore from than Residenza Antica Canonica.
Review 16:Staff super efficiente e collaborativo.
Review 17:Can use wifi just around office
Review 18:Cozy living room, big bed room, huge bath room

Review 20:Wifi was not available in the room
Review 21:Clean, spacious, well maintain,
Review 22:More pillows!
Review 23:Lovely and relaxing. Great place to base yourself for a real Umbrian experience. Our host Elisa was fantastico!
Review 24:Perfect location. Considering the top quality of residence, the price was a steal. Brilliant place
Review 25:The building was really interesting to stay in. Location in the town excellent. It was nice and warm, even when cold outside. Went for superior suite - well worth it for the triple aspect and views.
Review 26:We loved the atmosphere of being part of such an ancient building in the centre of the historic district. Comfy and clean rooms with our every need catered for, superb suggestions from Eliza on where to eat, park, visit etc. We enjoyed our time here including visit to Andy Warhol exhibition and drawing views of medieval buildings from our bedroom windows. Easy to get around and enjoyed parking up the car and being immersed in real Italian town life, espressos and pasta in local trattorias. Lucky to be there for Palio of the Orca, an amazing Sunday that we will remember for ever. Pity we just missed the chocolate festival. Thank you for a most memorable holiday.
Review 27:nothing
Review 28:A fantastic trip into the 16th century, a beautiful ancient "Canonica" transformed into residential units. The vaulted ceilings, the view over the rooftops of the old city, and a very spacious accommodation, We loved the bathroom, about 20 mq, and the well appointed kitchen in solid timber...all in a spotlessly clean environment. The owner was very helpful and kind to us, and we had a very good quality to price ratio. We will definitely return again...
Review 29:I really enjoyed my stay at the Residenza. The room sizes were large and very comfortable, the internet worked well, and the manager was very responsive to my needs.
Review 30:although we arrived past the check in time, hotel staff quickly arrived to let us in. We were given a choice of beautiful rooms and our hostess was most friendly and helpful. She recommended a fantastic restaurant just down the street. Our room was beautiful.
Review 31:Elisa, the manager was wonderful. She booked concert tickets and organized packets of information on all the towns and museums that we wanted to visit. The location was wonderful attached to the Duomo. The rooms were spacious. We wished that we had booked a longer stay.
Review 32:It was very spacious and beautifully restored, retaining a lot ofcharacter. It was very warm, staff were welcoming and excellent and thelocation was great for a one-night stay and night out for dinner.
Review 33:The internet connection was a bit on-and-off, but otherwise I think this is a wonderful spot to stay in Citta di Castello.
Review 34:Very clean. Safe. Friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Very reasonably priced.
Review 35:Late check in, not a minute before 3pm, broken shower head, noise near reception.
Review 36:Location, size of room, friendly caretaker, good wifi
Review 37:The manageress was lovely. It was very basic but there were a couple of good restaurants around and lovely coffee shops for breakfast.
