Reviews for El Faro Hotel
Review 1:Breakfast was a warzone! It is served from 7:30 until 10:00. We arrived around 9:15 and the food was mostly gone. The line for a table was simply embarrassing. The rooms are not as shown in the photos. The room had a very bad smell. Do not rely on the hotel's Internet. The connection is non existent. You don't get signal in the room, lobby nor in the restaurant! Simply annoying! There is a limited slots for the connection, so when there are a number of people logged in you cannot get access. One thing I find important for a relaxing vacation is the quality of the shower which in this hotel was way below our expectation! The shower temperature was not stable it went from super hot to cold and back to hot during the entire time. The water flow was also not constant. The rooms are not sound proof. I could hear my neighbor snore and cough the entire night. Not pleasant. Overall the hotel did not meet our expectations. No I would not recommend nor stay in El Faro again
Review 2:Nothing much.
Review 3:Hotel restaurant could have been better (although the breakfast was lovely), and would have liked a kettle and tea facilities in room - all else was amazing!
Review 4:Fantastic
Review 5:It's really difficult to write something here - maybe gym could be bigger.
Review 6:Fantastic view from room at the sea, hotel surrounded by nature. Very clean room, nice swimming pool, great facilities by the sea. Breakfast was rich (like for Italy) and included scrambled eggs, warm bacon, hams, cheeses, jams, various fruits, cakes, yoghurts, juices, teas, coffee and many more.
Review 7:Everything was OK, the weather could have been better, but it is normal in the end of October:)
Review 8:View, the size of the room, tasty food - it is worth to book a table for the dinner there. The best crossaints for breakfast in Sardinia. Very comfortable and nice furnished common space.
Review 9:Staff seemed less than happy to be working until late October and were not shy to show it. Food can be pricey. You need a car to find other places to eat.
Review 10:The hotel has great views and a quiet environment. Great cocktail bar. Nice lounges near the sea.
Review 11:The vieuw arround the hotel is amazing. We stayed only one night and could not use the facility´s like the pool, the gym, etc...but those seems to be very nice !
Review 12:We had booked a room at the top floor but ended up with a room at their lowest floor, apparently we were upgraded. An extra room and bathroom we did not need instead of the full view of the bay. Strange upgrade.
Review 13:Superb location by the sea, beatiful surroundings. Love the long Mugani beach about 2 km from the hotel.
Review 14:Lovely hotel with friendly staff, we were upgraded to a sea-view room with balcony. The view was absolutely breath taking. We have rented a car, so location was good for us. Close to the airport. Lots of parking space.
Review 15:breakfast was very disorganised often ran out of coffee, utensils, bread and were slow to clear tables after previous guests had finished. Didnt feel the amount we paid was reflected in the service and overall comfort.
Review 16:the views
Review 17:The hotel is pretty outdated. Breakfast is very basic for a four star hotel.
Review 18:Location is perfect, but staying more than 2 days could become boring, unless you look for secluded quiet place.
Review 19:Reception staff were not very friendly. The shower box was quite small.
Review 20:The facilities and the amazing view of the room. The breakfast was quite good. Waiters and barmen were very kind.
Review 21:Choice of meal offered in the restaurant (especially for lunch or dinner) is very limited and for sure not representing a 4 Star level. Breakfast is provided but does not offer any variation (we stayed for 14 days and had the same breakfast selection provided). Did never understand how this restaurant could receive a Michelin recommendation :-(
Review 22:Location is great as it is located next to a natural reserve and has private beach access. Some staff especially at the coffe bar in the afternoon made a change as they were very friendly and providing a great service. Would have loved to mention them by name but none of the employees is wearing a name tag... thanks anyway to the bar team :-) Sorry for the rest of the team especially the head chef of the restaurant (plus some staff) ...your way of serving customers is not acceptable and needs to be improved big time
Review 23:Although staff are helpful, it's all totally impersonal. It's not really got a very kid friendly ambience.
Review 24:While the sea can get a bit rough ( we are in Sardinia i.e. windy) it has a nice swimming/ snorkeling area ( my wife saw a barracuda) and good views across to capo caccia.
Review 25:I would have expected better food at such an excellent hotel. Unfortunately, both breakfast and dinner were very ordinary.
Review 26:The hotel has a beautiful location overlooking Capo Caccia. Our room was very large, recently renovated and spotlessly clean and had a private external terrace which was lovely. Staff were friendly and efficient.
Review 27:There are no other restaurants within walking distance so we would not choose this hotel for an extended stay. We were here for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Review 28:Fabulous location, truly private rocky beach with comfortable sunbeds and brollies. Superb swimming from the rocky shore. Warm and welcoming staff, particularly great young barman, sorry we can't remember his name. A number of reviewers have left negative comments about the restaurant. We found a good selection of well cooked and well presented simple Sardinian fare. Superb views.
Review 29:The bar in the evening was great, however the restaurant staff and service was very slow, the food was excellent but did not cater for many tastes (fish or steak only).
Review 30:Fantastic location, great reception staff who recommended lots of things to do locally.
Review 31:My main complaint would be with the service: reception, bar, and dining room. There is a coolness here which is too bad. Service is adequate, but but there is no effort to do a bit extra.
Review 32:The location of the property is outstanding. Our room was upgraded without requesting it.
Review 33:The hotel and location was fantastic for a pure relaxation holiday. The scenery was beautiful and a room with a sea view is a must! The staff couldn't be more pleasent and helpful, they're a real credit to the hotel. The food was wonderful with a great variety to choose from everyday. We fell in love with El Faro.
Review 34:nice hotel, with nice stuff. they gave us good recommendations regarding sandy beaches and restaurants in Alghero. Beautiful sea views, unfortunately they have a rocky beach. very close to Alghero and the airport.
Review 35:Very old-fashioned hair-dryer in the bathroom.
Review 36:Great property grounds and location, very nice beach nearby. Amazing view from the room. High quality food in the restaurant. Delicious croissants!
Review 37:The staff at the reception was not nice at all. Didn't give any info ... Just gave us the key to the room without any explanation.
Review 38:The view was fabulous
Review 39:Too many people for the seats in the breakfast room !!! The restaurant was awfull which was a pity considering the view on the sea!!!!!!!
Review 40:The situation and the breath taking view on the sea
Review 41:Rooms were pretty average, paper thin walls and hard beds, tiny showers. Food at lunch pool bar is served out of a plastic container, pretty poor - cheapened the whole place. Not much to do in the area, would have got bored if staying for a prolonged period of time. Beach is not sandy, clear waters, nice temperatures and can see some fish via. snorkeling but still rocky!
Review 42:Second time staying at El Faro. Used the hotel due to it's proximity to Alghero airport - perfectly located (15 mins away by car). In a small village with not much going on, best bet for a more lively restaurant/bar scene is Alghero which is about 20-25 mins by car. Having a car is an absolute must. Free parking, easy to find. Facilities are very good - nice pool, deckchairs with lifeguard for full-time assistance. Glad we didn't spend our whole holiday here as food and service wasn't quite up to scratch and rooms were pretty average but for it's purpose of a one-night stay, close to the airport it was perfect and very good value in peak season.
Review 43:-Didn't think the reception or restaurant staff were too helpful/friendly (we stayed in 2 other hotels in Sardinia so are basing this on an accurate comparison). For example, no map was given with things to do in the area, wifi was awful for looking places up on our phones too. -Food isn't great. The lunch bar serves food from a plastic plate that is ready made. When we paid more for the grilled fish option it was cooked raw in areas and serves with about 2 slices of aubergine as an accompaniment. Buffet restaurant is better but could be improved. -The first room we stayed in wasn't great, very dated design and the beds are very very hard (although most hotels in Sardinia seem to be similar). The second room we stayed in was much better but still was decorated with tacky, cheap-looking lime green furniture. It was a good size, nice bathroom but tiny shower, paper-thin walls and a very hard bed took away from the experience.
Review 44:-Used this hotel as arrived into Alghero airport late from Rome and wanted to stay somewhere close to the airport, this it is! About 15 mins away by car which is very convenient. - Hotel facilities are good, lots of sun loungers, a large saltwater pool and smaller kids pool. Kayak hire on site and snorkel hire on site for 5-15 euro which is great. Plenty of place to sit and relax, even in peak season. Pool had a roof which could be useful if the weather takes a turn for the worse. -Location is quite remote but so are 99% of hotels in Sardinia - if you have a car you can get into Alghero very quickly (25 mins) where there are a good selection of restaurants, bars and a night market -Breakfast is served on a big veranda overlooking the ocean. -Good value for money if you book the hotel via an online deal.
Review 45:We stayed at El Faro during our trip around Sardinia, and the hotel was definitely the best among the ones we had chosen. Everything was just perfect: the picturesque location, the unique nature, the beautiful room, the tasty meals, the great drinks in the bar, and the friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed a very warm welcome from the Russian-speaking ladies - Nadya and Lyuba, which made our stay specifically pleasurable. The hotel is definitely worth staying at and coming there again ;)
Review 46:We liked the welcoming and professional staff, comprehensive breakfast, relaxing ambience and stunning location. What was particularly special were the shaded areas with sunbeds close to the rocks by the sea, ideal for a refreshing swim or a snorkel. Without exception the staff were professional and courteous with impeccable English spoken throughout - thank you for a memorable holiday.
Review 47:That we had to leave!
Review 48:My wife and I stayed here for the first 3 nights of our honeymoon. We were given a clean, comfortable room with a private balcony that had a spectacular sea view. There are some beaches closeby, but we spent most afternoons swimming by the rocky shoreline of the hotel, which was splendid. Alghero is a romantic city which is also very close and a great place for a day trip. The food at the restaurant was excellent, and we ate there all 3 nights. We recommend this hotel to everyone.
Review 49:Wi-fi was slow, that's really about it!
Review 50:Good location, surrounded by beautiful national park, a car is a good idea as Alghero is around a20/30min drive or €30 each way by taxi, a bus is available for €2.50 each way but isn't that regular. Staff were brilliant and the hotel is lovely.
Review 51:The sea is nice but rocky. Nothing to do or see in the area.
Review 52:The pool was amazing. Great view of Capo Caccia even from our "Garden View" room. Rich breakfast. Very good dinner for reasonable price. Rooms have balcony. Overall, a good value for the money.
Review 53:The restaurant wasn`t as good as the rest of the hotel.
Review 54:The room was clean and quiet and exactly the room we ordered with a wiew and terrace. Privat beach. Good training facilities and verry nice area with slopes for running. The staff was verry nice
Review 55:The hotel restaurant really let this lovely hotel down. As the food was not that good.
Review 56:The staff were very helpful and friendly, lovely location.hotel clean and the view from our room was fab.you do need a car as hotel not near many restaurants.
Review 57:On the bad side a very inefficient wireless network, not reaching our room. They reiterated their apologies saying that somebody was looking into that, but nothing really happened during our stay. Not acceptable for this price level.
Review 58:The location is extraordinary, with wonderful access to a beautiful sea.
Review 59:The food isn't great. The staff was mostly stuffy. The room stunk like mildew and there appeared to be mold growing in our bathroom. The shower kept backing up and when I reported the problem, the staff didn't care at all. I doubt it was dealt with. The sea is beautiful, but full of sea urchins and jelly fish. The pools are salt water.
Review 60:The property was beautiful and the family room sizable. The pools are very clean and refreshing. The little bungalows around the ocean are very relaxing.
Review 61:If staying for longer than a few days a car would be recommended as it is quite secluded but perfect for a relaxing break away from hustle and bustle of some resorts.
Review 62:The location is fabulous! Lots of available sunbeds. Very quite and tranquil.
Review 63:Staff could be more attentive, beds are too hard and only TV channels in Italian available, this for a 4 stars hotel !!!
Review 64:Very good and quiet location, nice pool and stone garden. No beach but access to water through many stairs and ladders.
Review 65:Quality of food and choice at breakfast very limited , tea and coffee cold , and juices from concentrate !
Review 66:Location superb , layout of deckchairs and swimming facility was excellent so was swimming pools !
Review 67:The rooms had a terrible smell. They used some kind of chemical for taking away odor. Except for breakfast, the food is not very good. Use other local restaurants instead. As with all Italian staff, they are very slow and not that service minded.
Review 68:Great location with a dedicated ocean area for hotel quests only. Very quiet with not many families. The scenery is lovely. Decent value for money based on a heavily discounted price. Would not pay full price.
Review 69:If you weren't up at sparrow's and down to the water then you had NO CHANCE of getting a lounge under shade. And the 'reserved' shady ones seemed to then go largely unoccupied in the heat of the day.
Review 70:The water was terrific; refreshing.
Review 71:Beautifull place, isolated, very comfortable. Situated almost in the national park- that is fantastic forest. Very clean water. We have nothing cons, just pros. Highly recommended to everybody who wants to escape from the noice. Good restaurant with local food. Outside restaurant is 700 meters away. But in the hotel restaurant price is very reasonable. We did not want to leave.
Review 72:Bring your own hair dryer one in room was useless.
Review 73:Amazing/secluded location. It was like a retreat! very private. lots of different sun bathing areas with some double sun loungers. Staff very accommodating - going out of their way to make the stay special. it really was ideal for couples. Amazing sea beautiful for swimming. If staying for a week + it would be worth hiring a car. Incredible views from all hotel areas
Review 74:We never faced before in any hotel such a unfriendly reception staff! (A big exception is the night portier who was excellent) Service orientation was not existing. For every request or question we were sent to some other stuff in the hotel. Nobody of the reception did any step away from the desk, no introduction of the hotel facilities, etc.. The air-condition in the room was not working also after "the repair". Parking places are existing but in high season they become rare. For this price it's from our opinion not worth to stay there, especially not for a longer period!
Review 75:Good location, very quiet with direct seaview. A car is recommened.
Review 76:airconditioning not working and we were offered an upgarde at midnight !!!!while having to leave next morning at 9am (and no help to tranfer luggae to the other room. so we had luggae in one room and had to sleep in the different room. the guy who is reparing air condition came when we were packing in the morning). upgraded room had aircondition which was also not working and so on... no one cleaned the ashtrey left from previous guests on the balcony, drawers and closest were dusty. the whole experience is not worth the price you pay.
Review 77:Nicee location and view: alghero is 15 min drive from hotel as well as the airport. famous beach Bombaarda close.
Review 78:Considering the ripe and fresh fruit available the selection at breakfast could be better. Some staff were very professional but a bit remote.
Review 79:Beautiful location and very clean. One young lady staff member was very helpful and friendly, perhaps because of her work as an air hostess. Sbe should be a staff trainer.
Review 80:Cool clean interior design, feels like your own oasis on the sea with direct access to swimming ... Kayaking to explore the bay and pull up at the pines of National Park. Delicious food and selection of Sardinian wines, courteous and friendly reception and dining room staff. Go if you can!
Review 81:Absence of shampoo and conditioner: had to buy in the shop (30 min of walk) as have seen it on the photos and didn't take with me Quality of blankets No mineral water on Arrival in the room: only small bottle in minibar for 3 Euro boiled eggs are extra for breakfast
Review 82:view neatness personal beach
Review 83:1. price are more expensive via booking.com and I think this is made on purpose 2. Price are irrelevant to the service provided for example for a luch like simple chicken leg which you can do at home much more delicious they charged me 15 euro. 3. busses are not coming to the hotel if you need to visit nearest city by public transportation you need to walk 1 km. 4. be prepare to pay a lot
Review 84:great located hotel, clean rooms and nice service, but visit only by the car, very nice quiet area with a nice view.
Review 85:nothing
Review 86:Nice hotel at a beautiful location. All facilities you could wish for. We got a great cheap deal on a room, and they even gave us a free upgrade.
Review 87:You need a car if you want to go somewhere but we had so we enjoyed all. I recommend rent a car.
Review 88:The best hotel I have ever been. View, room, staff. Perfect for honeymoon or for romantic trip.
Review 89:We didn't realise the hotel was quite so isolated ... taxis are so expensive, so we ended up hiring a car form 7 or our 10 days. We thought breakfast was only average ... my brother in law looked for 2 fried eggs (there was just scrambled every day) and we was told that would be extra... think that is very short sighted. Lunch at the pool bar was very limited and totally lacking in imagination. I like to make a cup of tea in the room and was told that no tea or coffee facilities were allowed in the rooms, also only disposable glasses allowed in the bedrooms... amazing! I think the hotel is trading on its stunning location and has so much more potential, especially with the food and set up of pool area.
Review 90:We loved the fabulous views from our bedroom window. snorkelling and swimming in the sea....
Review 91:-Smoking is allowed everywhere outside- including the restaurant/bars, at the pool people also tend to smoke on balconies -Some members of restaurant and reception staff are unprofessional and unpleasant. They seem to be very surprised that one sometimes travels/is on holidays alone - The location is nice but remote- one needs a car, as public transport isn't frequent
Review 92:-beautiful and relaxing location -views -pool & sea -clean and comfortable room -food (good breakfast and an acceptable dinner )
Review 93:VERY (VERY) LIMITED SELECTION OF BREAD, CHEESES AND COLD CUTS IN THE BREAKFAST MENU, NO VEGETABLES, NO FISH. THIS ISN'T A 4 STAR PROPOSITION
Review 94:LOCATION - A1, STAFF FRIENDLINESS, COMFORT
Review 95:There is not much else around and they had very little info about whats in area, and little to do in bad weather
Review 96:Location was relaxing and remote, staff were lovely
Review 97:Hair drier needs up grading to something that actually dries your hair! Twin beds not the widest and a tad hard.
Review 98:Location, room size, cleanliness, food and communal facilities
Review 99:.We had no bad experience at this hotel.
Review 100:Staff were friendly. The classic room had an excellent sea view and the Hotel was spotlessly clean. The breakfast and evening meal were very good.We could find nothing wrong with this hotel and we would like to stay there again. If you like the beach it's not the place to stay as all beaches are several kms away.a car is a must as the hotel is quite isolated.
Review 101:The close supermarket and restorants are about 2 km. The water in the sea in May was very cold, it was impossible to swim. The swimming pool is too small for swimming. The quality of breakfast is poor for 4-star hotel.
Review 102:The staff of the hotel is very polite and friendly. Room is comfortable (I had the enhanced room). Hotel is quiet and the place is beautiful. I think the hotel is very suitable for mature company and for quiet relaxation.
Review 103:Having to leave!
Review 104:My husband wasn't sure if he wanted to stay more than one night. We were able to prolong our stay straight away. Breakfast is very good. Great view of the bay.
Review 105:The hotel decor, the sea access and the pool ares. Breakfast was average. The location is stunning and the proximity to the airport a plus. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Review 106:The staff were not overly friendly or attentive. We had a few things broken in our room (i.e. the air con and the phone) so we were quite hot at night and had to go down to reception each time were needed to contact them. When I first went down to reception to make a restaurant reservation, I mentioned to the staff the the phone in our room was broken. Rather than say sorry and arrange for the phone to be fixed, he just took the time down for our booking. The restaurant requests that you make a reservation in the restaurant each night but one night we forgot to go to the reception (and couldn't do it on our broken phone) and we went straight to the restaurant and requested a table instead. The staff were visibly annoyed at us, and gave us a table that had the sun in our eyes and no bread basket. At €30 per set meal I think this is completely unreasonable service. One morning they had under prepared for the breakfast and there were queues waiting for: plates, cutlery, hot water, coffee, and bacon. It was a shambles.
Review 107:The location, the stunning views, the outdoor areas for sunbathing, drinks in the sun, close proximity to the airport, national park next door was great for walks and bike rides, free parking.
Review 108:some suggestion would be related to breakfast: more variety in terms of salted stuff would be good (such as having vegetables and olives as well) if comparing to a 4* hotel no pool for babies nor playing ground, but alghero si not that far no market around, though this is not up to the hotel
Review 109:the location - in the middle of the nature with great views the food helpful and friendly staff decently sized rooms the patio where our son could run freely both swiming pools had salted water the croissants and the espresso :)
Review 110:Within the 'natural park' setting, mosquitoes are a real hazzard during the evening/night/sun-rise ... if your room doors are opened to allow sea-air circulation, you will likely be bitten thoroughly. The management later advised that they can administer repellants within the rooms, 'if requested'. It would be more appropriate to have this information BEFORE being thoroughly bitten.
Review 111:The extreme beauty of the natural setting; The pleasant architecture of the open areas (terrace, bar, pool, sea-side walk, and the well maintained aspects (grounds, plumbing, building, etc.).
Review 112:The staff at the restaurant behaved indifferently, made no effort to please you, served your dinner as if they did not care, do they like their jobs you wonder. A bit of a smile and some friendly attention would be nice. We also stayed at the Bajaloglia Hotel in Castelsardo, there they know what service is, absolutely fantastic. The room itzelf is abit old-fashioned compared to the modern bar/poolsite etc. The bed keeps you turning around and around. Still, we had a nice stay because the remoteness of the hotel and the rest of it was pleasant!
Review 113:The location is absolutely great, at the waterfront with different terraces, luxurious pool with bar, nice sun lounge-chairs, staff at the bar more than friendly, served a drink with an extra amuse to it, view from the room is very nice(seaside).
Review 114:Mosquito screen door was broken, even after repeated requests to reception this was not rectified. We couldnt leave the doors open and listen to the sea. Room service needs improvement. Called several times to get a plate and knife, but got blankets instead.
Review 115:Friendly staff, clean, good facilities, location, location, location.
Review 116:Hotel was a little remote with not a lot of shops or restaurants near by. The hotels evening meals at the restaurant were a bit pricey and not great.
Review 117:Stayed in a superior room with beautiful sea views the room was lovely and cleaned emaculately every day. Buffet breakfast was great with lots of variety.
Review 118:Spa expensive with limited availability. Restaurant has limited menu.
Review 119:Superb location. Very nice room. Great small balcony. Great TV reception. Great Wifi. Nice fridge.
Review 120:well I stayed in many hotels in dofferent countries and never ever been to one before where guest would have to pay for hotel sauna. this I find ridiculous and kind of hidden...room was ok, but nothing special, and doble bad should have 1 queen matterace not 2 small put together as it makes it uncomfortable
Review 121:set up is really nice, peninsula, see coast, terrace...though we were unlucky with weather...cold and cloudy wih small rain. Very nice and helpfull staff! Breakfast was good though well south staff - no veggetables, and paper bread...
Review 122:Beautiful white, fresh hotel in different levels, where you can hang out and sunbath. Nicely isolated. Some rooms have terraces or balconies facing either side, rooms nice with good beds. Close to Capo Caccia and Grotta di Nettuno, airport and half an hour to Alghero. The beach is rocky with easy access using ladders. Dining room overlooking the sea and sunset - food very good. Outdoor lunch and drink area. The dinner menu has an excellent salad buffet, choice of pasta dish, choice of main, glass of wine and choice of dessert - well worth its price. Breakfast very good with lots of choices. Nice staff.
Review 123:Restaurant could be better quality food. Breakfast possibly some more varied options.
Review 124:Gorgeous hotel, excellent staff, spotlessly clean. Totally relaxing.
Review 125:Location is slightly far from town and with not many restaurants close by your choice of evening meals is limited if you choose not to travel into town.
Review 126:Staff were so friendly - packed Breakfast boxes for us to bring with us to Airport when leaving.
Review 127:Fabulous marble bathroom. Very impressive Reception area. Very friendly and helpful service Very comfortable and high quality bedroom Fabulous balcony
Review 128:The wifi isn't great, and the lunch menu is quite limited. Also, the first room we had, had a very uncomfortable, old mattress, but I believe these are being replaced.
Review 129:This hotel is in a beautiful location about 15 minutes drive from Alghero. While there isn't a private beach, there are ample sun beds lined up along the rocky shore, and many places to plunge into the turquoise water to cool off. The pools are great, the staff are very friendly and helpful, the restaurant is nice in the evening, and the rooms are nice. It's worth paying a little bit extra to wake up to a sea view. It's stunning! We stayed here twice because we loved it so much…and I would go back in a heartbeat.
Review 130:- When we wanted to book more nights the staff reacted strange. We could book the room cheaper at booking, so she said, then you book with booking.....
Review 131:- View- diner was very good, even when we read the terrible reviews - good breakfast - perfect room, nothing is more relaxing then waking up with te sea as background music - nice beds near the sea - very private envoirement
Review 132:The food at the hotel is not good. The service is very slow.
Review 133:The location The facilities The private beach The hotel The views Enough sun beds for all Enough entreatment: kayak, snorkelling, swimming
Review 134:We booked two classic rooms with seaview. One single use room looked not new but was very spacious, bathroom with bathtub, one terrace table with two chairs as images on booking page. The other twin room had better seaview and I guess it was one of the smallest room in the hotel, there was no terrace table as room example I saw during the booking (because there was no such space). When we opened the window after dinner, we noticed that mosquito net was broken and it was too late to call the assistance. We clearly heard next doors people conversations.
Review 135:Cleanness, Kind staff, very nice seaside area, clean sea water (not suitable for children), rich breakfast. White based chic elegant interior decoration with antique furniture. Spacious common areas. We had early check in for one room. That was very nice for our aunt who is 84 years old.
Review 136:We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay at the El Faro and would highly recommend it. It suited our need perfectly. It’s a small, quiet hotel with charming staff and in a beautiful location. It was great to wake up in the morning with a superb view over the Porto Conte bay. We found our room extremely comfortable, clean and spacious, though it has to be said that, although the décor harmonised, it was not to our taste. We enjoyed being able to sit on the balcony in hte evening. We also enjoyed the food. The breakfasts were good, with plenty of choice for every one. We ate dinner there twice and found the standard of food to be good to very good, but not excellent. The hotel is fairly isolated and we felt that a car was essential in order to be able to see as much as possible of the beautiful region of Sassari. Overall, we felt that the hotel is of a good four star standard and had no cause for complaint
Review 137:Restaurant setting and quality. Both dinner menu and food and breakfast were very average! SPA service also very average. Overall management could make this pace really amazing!
Review 138:Location and view. Great reception (Nadia really nice and helpful)
