Reviews for Baglio San Vincenzo

Review 1:The surrounding areas are beautiful but the closeby town of Menfi isn't very nice so plan either not to leave the Baglio or day trips to other attractions such as Marsala 1hr away.

Review 2:Absolutely everything! The calm, quiet, pool, food, wine & people. Fabulous oasis with no need to leave once you arrive. The food was fab real Silician cuisine.

Review 3:Only minor downside was our room and bathroom were on the basic side and walls were quite thin.

Review 4:Beautiful setting in the hills with a pool and great views. Really enjoyed the food and their own wine which was delicious and great value.

Review 5:Beautiful Setting in the back hills of Menfi. Charming propriator and spectacular pool area. Super home made breakfast outside on the terrace. Very good bedding.

Review 6:It was quite an adventure to find it, but I would not necessarily consider this as negative, if you can do it during daylight.

Review 7:quiet location, very friendly reception

Review 8:Beautiful building, pool and surroundings, superb food, excellently run, delightful atmosphere, peaceful location: couldn't have found a more perfect spot

Review 9:We enjoyed 2 relaxing nights at Baglio San Vincenzo this Summer and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this delightful haven to anyone visiting Sicily for the first, second or 50th time. We are familiar with Sicily and have family who live not too far away, so the authenticity we look for was certainly warming to see as soon as we arrived. The setting is simply stunning and for us, the fact that it is a slight adventure to find just means that the people who visit really know what they are looking for (although good way finding is always a good idea and worth improving). The accommodation strikes that balance between traditional Sicilian house and modern simplicity. And having chosen the suite with the terrace, we were absolutely blessed with the view of the surrounding vineyards, the gorgeous big pool and of course the mediterranean sea. I'd recommend this room choice if pondering over the options. As lovely as all this was, as always it was the details that really made our 2 days special. The tempura Sage leaves that accompanied our canapés and bubbles a la terrace at sunset. Sage plants surround the property so this is a nice touch. The kindness of Marisa (my apologies if spelt incorrectly), we literally felt like her extended family while there. I have so much to say including of course the impressive winery and wine selection we healthily made our way through but ultimately, it's one to see and experience for yourself if you enjoy the authentic and simple things that leave you with a small piece of the island to take home. If you are looking for wedding venues, this would be a stunning one and well set up. Thank you to all who helped make our short stay special ;-)

Review 10:Pool was new and large but cold and there weren't any mattresses to go on the hard plastic beds so very uncomfortable. The food in the restaurant was a fixed price €30-€35 very expensive therefore for a family of 4 especially when quality not as good as previous stays. It felt very much like once we were in the Baglio that was that. Twice we went to play snooker both times the bar was shut and there was nobody around to serve us. We ended up stocking up at the local supermarket. Breakfast was very basic again compared to similar priced properties in Sicily.

Review 11:Good room size and cleanliness

Review 12:We could only stay one night!

Review 13:The staff were excellent - very helpful, very friendly, very attentative and they went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The buildings and gardens are beautiful. The swimming pool is fantastic - large and with lovely views. Food and wine are delicious - we had lunch and dinner.

Review 14:It was a real pleasure to visit BSV. We appreciated the genuine hospitality with good food and delicious wine and olive oil from the estate. The historic building has been very well looked after and modernised as appropriate. We loved the serenity of the place; quiet and unpretentious. The owner and other staff were both helpful and charming. We had been caught out by the fact that there are no taxis at all in Menfi after arriving on the bus from Agrigento. The owner, undeterred, dispatched two other hotel guests to come and collect us. Magnificent!

Review 15:location, acomodation

Review 16:Good location for local sights. Beautiful setting. Good food. Great wine.

Review 17:hard to find

Review 18:Charming and very helpful staff.Wine and olive oil were very good

Review 19:Dinner served too late, would prefer an hour earlier

Review 20:Friendliness of the staff and spectacular scenery and peaceful surrounding Great wines!

Review 21:Nothing !! We cannot wait to go back.

Review 22:Wonderful location in the countryside , great food, big and beautiful pool, the lady who owns the place is absolutely lovely and does all she can to give you a wonderful stay.

Review 23:Nothing

Review 24:Beautiful setting. Very friendly owner and staff. Simple charming rooms. Lovely pool area with stunning views down to sea Well maintained grounds and wine made on the premisis

Review 25:We found the rooms to be a bit small, with not enough storage space for our clothes. The shower was also small. We had some difficulty finding the baglio. A map with route #s on it, on your web site would be helpful.

Review 26:We thought the baglio was physically very beautiful - its restoration/gardens and its location on the mountain top. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious! We LOVED the pool, and the fact that wine could be brought to the poolside for our enjoyment. The games room was excellent - a well-planned area for playing bridge and pool.

Review 27:a bit remote from menfi. hard to find, especially in the dark. beds a bit firm. BUT, would go again !

Review 28:charming old wine estate, lovingly restored. stone buildings and gracious court yard. lovely pool. well managed, helpful staff. good value own wine. interesting wine processing set up on site.

Review 29:Menfi itself is not interesting.

Review 30:We loved the carefully renovated, state of the art winery. All the luxury of Napa Valley in remote corner of Sicily! Friendly and helpful management and staff and delicious on-sight Sicilian dining. We loved the suite with private terrace and views over both the Mediterranean/pool and interior courtyard! Great spot from which to explore western Sicily or just relax in a quiet rural setting.

Review 31:This is the most wonderful place. I came with my wife and two young girls and were treated to 4 fantastic days. Wonderful food, beautiful location, incredible room, fantastic pool, we didn't leave, the car stayed parked until we left. Can't fault it, just brilliant.

Review 32:Price is a litle bit high for us to stay longer time but it is probably due to the exceptional environnement

Review 33:The calm, the kindliness and efficiency of all people working at Baglio San Vincenzo, the beautiful house and garden/swinmmingpool

Review 34:Beautiful compound, excellent pool, quiet location, helpful staff, terrific wines. This was the agriturismo which best met our expectations of what an agriturismo should be.

Review 35:Because of its location, you need a car (no walking into Menfi on foot for dinner).

Review 36:We found the location superb, out of town and quiet with fabulous sea views from the beautiful and clean swimming pool. The hotel was a former farm, parts dating from 17 century. It has been magnificently restored (with its own on-site church), is very comfortable, and the food is excellent.

Review 37:Quality of the bed can be better

Review 38:Super location, excellent food, very friendly, only to be recommendedwhen you want to escape from daily stress

Review 39:Room was very basic.

Review 40:Very nice Agroturismo.
