Reviews for Hotel Bellevue Suite
Review 1:Such a shame that there was no restaurant which would have made it a perfect hotel
Review 2:Beautiful hotel, beautiful location excellent staff very helpful and obliging
Review 3:Friendly staff were very welcoming for our Christmas vacation. They provided us with helpful tips to find some beautiful places along the coast and also helped with all out transportation to and from the hotel. The location is slightly out of Amalfi centre, about a 15 minute walk, which isn't always ideal, but the walk offered absolutely stunning views and made the stay even more enjoyable.
Review 4:nil
Review 5:This hotel was on a hill with a superb view. The management were willing to drive us to the village or pick us up. There was a wonderful restaurant a mile away that would pick us up and return us.The management could'nt do enough to help. The bus stop was close by also. We would go back anytime. Excellent breakfasts too.
Review 6:10min walk from town center, with a bit of a steep staircase, but not too bad as it gives you time to enjoy the view.
Review 7:Stunning views with a surprise and wonderful room upgrade. In main street so on bus route.
Review 8:The Bellevue is a beautiful hotel with a traditional soul. The pace is calm and lovely from the beautiful lobby salon with white damask covered sofas and chairs to the peaceful rooftop patio with Mediterranean blue chaises and exquisite flowers. We look forward to another stay at the Bellevue. This is nothing like a modern chain hotel. The staff is always helpful yet not doting.
Review 9:Only bad thing was that the plumbing system was quite noisy but other than that fab hotel
Review 10:Staff in particular Antonio were very friendly and went out of their way to help me location was excellent
Review 11:My whole experience from the time we checked in until we left was horrible. The older man running the front desk need to take a lesson on customer service. He was pushy, rude, and condescending. He tried to drain us of ever last dime we had. First he said our rooms were not facing the ocean and that would be $20 more a day per room. Then $20/day for parking. Then breakfast was not included it would be an additional $5/day of we wanted breakfast. How does a place that advertises itself as a "Bed and Breakfast" not include breakfast? Then when we were showed our rooms. My friend and I were supposed to have 2 beds in our room and it only had one. When I said this they brought a fold out bed. I explained that I did not find it acceptable that I was being offered a fold out bed. The older man became very agitated with me, said he did not understand why I was getting so upset. It was very obvious that he did not care about our comfort or satisfaction at all. He also advised us that the buses ran until midnight when in fact they did not and we had to walk up a scary dark hill at midnight.
Review 12:Walking into the reception was like walking into your own lounge a great feeling added to by the soft reserve of Antonio and the truly welcoming and generous spirit of Thomas.
Review 13:We stayed at the hotel for four nights. The staff was very nice, specially Antonio who gave us very good tips for our trip. The room was very clean and spacious, we enjoyed our stay very much. I would definitely recommend this hotel!! We rented a scooter and that was the best of our trip! Specially since the hotel is not located in the city center, which is actually better since you will not be over whelmed by tourists. The scooter gave us the possibility to visit every place we wanted, and it was great for the location of the hotel. From the hotel they recommended us a private beach and it was by far the nicest we've been to in Amalfi Coast! Our last night Antonio recommended us a very nice and reasonable restaurant to have dinner, with an amazing view over the cost, it was great, thank you very much Antonio!
Review 14:Friendly helpful staff. Large clean room with terrace and sea views. A short distance from Amalfi central, clean friendly family run hotel with comfortable spacious rooms.
Review 15:Like most of other reviews, which I have now read, the owner was too controlling, too many rules and regulations. He was also rude. This was a a short break spoilt by an overbearing owner who managed to be there every time you made an appearance in the hotel.
Review 16:The rooms were very comfortable and the night porter was very charming and helpful.
Review 17:Confusion about when to order taxi for departure. Two in our group had to walk to the city center.
Review 18:The very helpful staff at the front desk, Every recommendation they made turned out to be a real gem. Shows that one should listen to the locals. Being upgraded to a room with a terrace didn't hurt, either.
Review 19:Splendid Location with off-street parking available. Walking distance to Amalfi town and public transport at doorstep. Very clean and all rooms have seaview balconies. Staff were very friendly, helpful and accommodating (voluntarily upgraded us to a Honeymoon Suite free of charge - thank you Antonio!!)
Review 20:The location is awful and even if it is close the city centre the road to reach it is horrible and dangerous, with no pavement! Parking is £20 per day! Breakfast is £5 per head per day and it is very poor we went outside to have breakfast after one experience! The staff is unprofessional and rude. The closest beach costs £20 per head...ridicolous!!!
Review 21:The place is nice and clean
Review 22:Staff weren't very good, made you feel a little uncomfortable, friendly enough but felt a little forced & like you are being watched - family run so I guess they're just very hotel proud. Breakfast was same everyday, croissant, toast, tomato & cheese - a little more variety would be nice. Walls are pretty thin so could hear room next door watching tv - although we've found that a but in our travels.Location not the best but away from business of tourists - buses weren't very reliable over weekend when they go to half service
Review 23:We paid to upgrade to sea view, definitely worth it having the great views. Room was comfortable and clean. Location was ok but put your walking shoes on to get everywhere or jump on the bus
Review 24:the location is difficult , unless you are a strong walker as we are there is nothing close by.....the walk back from town is at least a kilometer all uphill.....a taxi is ten euros.....if you add in the upgrade , parking , breakfast and a few taxi fares ,maybe a room in town would be better.....but what a view from the balcony
Review 25:everything was great ,clean and comfortable .....the view from the upgraded room was superb......made a deal for parking, breakfast and an upgrade .....showed the owner the booking.com listing that said free parking but still resisted on giving it...
Review 26:Hotel owner and his son were great hosts. Staff were very attentive especially at breakfast. Parking is a bit of a squeeze but as good as gets in this area
Review 27:Nope all good
Review 28:The hotel was in a great location just a 15min walk to the town of Amalfi or you could get the bus which stops right outside. The rooms were big, we upgraded to a sea view but the ones without we're just as nice, we were barely in it!! Great showers, A/C in the room. Breakfast was the cheapest you'll get on the coast, a simple continental with bread, croissant, ham, salami and coffee/tea of your choice for just €5. Failing that there is a super coffee shop opposite the ferry terminal in Amalfi - a bit more cost but more selection. Bar Flaviao. You can book tours at your hotel - same price as booking anywhere, there is a great info place next to the bar Flávio. We ferried to Capri, positano, Salerno - then train to Naples (bus home from Salerno to Amalfi) & the emerald grotto. Bused it to Sorrento & Ravello - you can do this all along the coast - cheap and easy. All in all a perfect holiday, great location, delicious food and great people. I highly recommend the hotel we stayed in and basing yourself in Amalfi - it's a lovely town with plenty to see & do with great transport connections
Review 29:i thought booking . Com included breakfast in the rates quoted. This was not the case here. We had to pay for the breakfast.
Review 30:The, staff gave useful tips on where to eat and local attractions. Special mention about staff member Manu Sharma who made sure we were comfortable, and gave us tips on how to move around and useful information.
Review 31:Everything was incredible. The hotel was amazing, very cozy, beautiful decors, large, clean rooms and bathrooms. The owner was very kind and helpful and give us all the information that we needed. I strongly recommend this hotel.
Review 32:I had to pay for car parkiing 15 Euro and for brekfast 5 Euro. If you don't take room with see side view then you willl get view for stones 1 m. distance from window.
Review 33:not so far from Amalfi Centre
Review 34:Not much but it's a 10-15 walk from the centre of Amalfi so you should keep that in mind. However, it is not bad value for money considering this.
Review 35:Upon arrival a member of staff helped find us a parking space. One day we were late for breakfast but they made an exception and provided it anyway. Room was good. WiFi was free.
Review 36:Twin beds with ridge; noise from road; some communication; far from Amalfi; no restaurant; pricey gift shops in Amalfi; busy road to walk to town
Review 37:Stunning sea View from town. And walk down to town; fresh juice; staff and manager very friendly; restaurant Tari
Review 38:all bad reviews were right - I should've read them first... initially planned to stay 3+ nights but escaped after two after a few confrontations with owner.... the hotel is clean and nice with a good walking distance to Amalfi but i'm rating everything 1 since all the advantages are ruined by the bad stuff - the booking rating is too high...
Review 39:If breakfast and parking is not included in the price (which was not written during the reservation process) - in that case the amounts due for breakfast and parking should be determined precisely.
Review 40:Beautiful view, clean and comfortable room.
Review 41:Unfortunatelly, all balconies face the main road which can be very busy and crowded. If breakfast is not included in the room price, it seems that the hotel policy would be to charge the entire brekfast price even if one only takes a coffee. But after raising the issue, they adjusted the bill accordingly.
Review 42:The hotel is very nice, with charm and great view. It is a great treat to enjoy the view and the sun from the balcony. The hotel's parking is a clear advantage (reasonable price), given the high number of cars in the area and the high prices of private parkings in town.
Review 43:------
Review 44:The owners of the hotel manage the hotel themselves. Thomas and Antonio both are a gem of a person. I can surely say that amalfi was amazing because of them. Extremely helpful people. When in amalfi this is the only hotel you should stay at !
Review 45:We thought that parking would be free but it was 10 Euros per night, however we could have parked on the road outside. The previous negativereviews nearly put us off, thank goodness they didn'T.
Review 46:The location was lovely, right opposite the beach with a great sea view. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large and comfortablewith a great balcony. The breakfast was excellent.
Review 47:We had the best terrace and view of the sea from this darling, clean and very affordable hotel. Rooms were large and renovated. The hotel had a homelike environment and the staff was excellent in taking care of your needs. Would definitely return to this place!
Review 48:there might be some basic drinks/food in a room, also I missed some shampoo in a bathroom at least. Breakfast was ok for few days - but for vegetarians count only with a croissant / bread / butter and jams since cheese was places on a plate with ham and other meat(y) stuff :(
Review 49:we got better spacious room with terrace with amazing sea view (worth to wake up early and watch sunrise) apartment was very clean, fast internet connection. Free parking (very appreciated in this area) close to Amalfi center (10 minutes of walk)
Review 50:the old man that manages the place is crazy the place is very old and requires investment urgently breakfast is lausy the place is a complete waste
Review 51:nothing worth pointing out
Review 52:The information given by email was sadly lacking! We sent an email outlining when we were arriving in Salerno and how were we to complete the last leg to get to Amalfi, the return email said catch the ferry, so we dragged oyr suitcases 1km to the ferry dock to find the last ferry was 1 hr before we even arrived at the train station! Also, there is an old guy in the reception that is gruff and rude, he says he is well travelled so why is he so rude!
Review 53:The view was spectacular, the location was good. A quick call to the hotel, and they came down to the bus station and picked us up. The included breakfast was simple but nice. Most of the staff were very friendly. Antonio tried to help as much as he could.
Review 54:You couldn't get any lunch or dinner at the hotel and the nearest places, within a 700 m walk were either of two fairly expensive hotel restaurants or a very down market place of suspect quality, despite hotel owners saying food and drink available 24 hrs. Drink was and reasonable.
Review 55:The room we had was bright, clean and had a great patio area overlooking the ocean
Review 56:Rules to many do"s and don't s 1. No food in the room no beverages in the room 2. First hotel where the rule book states that if you dirty the bed linen you will pay for it 3. The owner was very unfriendly an felt as though he is doing us a favor
Review 57:the hotel locate right at the main road so the noise is a bit loud with traffic passing. But view of sea made it relaxed. Some rules of no food/drinks into hotel can be a bit strict if one plan a longer stay. You can't really feel that cozy. But I do like the bluntness of what is require. So maybe ok for people that do not mine like myself.
Review 58:Elegant,clean,tightly run place(this is good for guests that like perfection and be). I would think for more conservative clients would be ideal. Generous breakfast. Very clean and large room. we have Sea View. Parking available. Welcoming from family run business that do take pride in perfection. The lobby is beautiful with antiques and decor.
Review 59:Nothing at all
Review 60:A very nice hotel located on a hill above Marina Grande and with a marvellous view. 1,5 km to the City but a nice walk if you take the seaside walking way. Worth every €
Review 61:The hotel was very clean however an over powering scent of cleaner in our room and the breakfast room was a little off putting.
Review 62:Good hotel, with free parking which was important for us. Lovely location with easy walking distance into Amalfi and to the beach.
Review 63:small room, 10 inches TV is a joke, 1 channel at large, far from downtown Amalfi. It's my second time in the Amalfi coast, the only city worth a night stay is Positano .
Review 64:the bed and the breakfast
Review 65:I've never had better service as this hotel catered to our every need and went beyond expectations. They helped us in some situations that were unexpected without issues. Will continue to visit this hotel and recommend it to others.
Review 66:Everything about the hotel was positive for us. Loved the view and the fact that one could get a great snack late evening. The staff was particularly accommodating and helpful with information about things we were not sure how to do.
Review 67:Very pleased with the whole hotel altogether, welcomed on entry. Room was excellent size, cleaned regularly. The staff were friendly, good location as just a 15 minute walk into the square of Amalfi. I would recommend a wide variety of people to stay at this hotel, families, couples etc. Overall very satisfied with the price and the conditions and facilties :)
Review 68:One particular staff member was not helpful towards us and was quite abrupt at times. Of particular note was when he suggested that the only way for us to get back to the airport from the hotel was a taxi that he would organise (at a cost of 80 euros). We didn't trust his suggestion and therefore relied on public transport at a much lower cost. We were sceptical of this member of staff from this point on, not something you want from a holiday. We would therefore recommend you seek independent advice.
Review 69:The breakfasts were really good, a lot of selection
Review 70:Staff is very unfriendly, the pool is not part of the hotel but 10 minutes away by shuttle bus, we had to pay extra for the use, double bed is 2 single beds pushed together, people are rude in particular the old owner, the drawers in the room were full of rubbish left by previous guests. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone
Review 71:the vicinity to Amalfi and the garage
Review 72:parking payant
Review 73:situation
Review 74:Very nice acomodation, employees very friendly.
Review 75:The staff is terrible. Not polite, not helpful, no service. The room was full with ants.
Review 76:Location, view.
Review 77:Lovely period piece hotel
Review 78:Cleanliness of the rooms and the amazing view from our room.
Review 79:Beds are really bad
Review 80:Terrace
Review 81:Kind and helpful hosts. Comfortable room. Good lOcation.
Review 82:on busy road. beach not available. staff welcoming but right out of the Basil Fawlty mould no food
Review 83:view
Review 84:No dislikes
Review 85:Upgraded to a larger room and found it to be quiet and comfortable. Staff speaks good English. Breakfast was good.
Review 86:The older man was very mean
Review 87:The son was very nice
Review 88:The Staff was unpleasant. We wanted to leave early morning, but we didn't get any breakfast, as promised.
Review 89:Difficulty connecting to the wifi
Review 90:The friendliness of the staff
Review 91:The staff is rude. I have never received worse service in my life. My 9 year old son went on the elevator and the elevator got stuck and the owner instead of apologizing he told me to spank my son for going in the elevator by himself.
Review 92:Antonio was very helpful with making suggestions of where to go and eat etc. The staff was very helpful and polite :) The roof terrace was amazing, and the free parking per room was a bonus. There is a beautiful quiet beach just 150 m from the hotel and the hotel itself is very strategically located.
Review 93:Too many rules and regulations.Info in room stated that bar was open til midnight we came back at 9.45pm and asked for coffee and liquers but were told coffe machine had been switched off! When parking outside after being out we were watched from the window every time to make sure we had parked between the lines! We stayed in 6 hotels during our holiday and would return to all the others but definately not this one
Review 94:Lovely sea views, comfortable room
Review 95:The only thing I didn't like about this hotel was the shower and how small it was
Review 96:Really good hotel, very friendly staff. The breakfast was really good and it was included in the price. Good location walking distance to the town and bus stop. Really recommend this hotel.
Review 97:It wasn't immediately clear that the swimming pool isn't on site. The beach was not yet open and that was not clear either.
Review 98:The staff were very friendly. Our room was very comfortable and our view was beautiful. We ate supper there twice and it was delicious.
Review 99:Felt like I was being watched while at the hotel - staff watches hotel from the street which leaves no privacy on the balcony. An uphill walk from Amalfi town, but just be sure to get off the bus from Sorrento side +-1km before Amalfi (look for the km signs) then you are dropped almost right in front of the Hotel (to avoid hauling heavy luggage uphill). Or ask to be dropped at the St Catherina bus stop.
Review 100:Staff is very helpful and polite. They go out of their way to help you. Excellent breakfast and excellent facilities
Review 101:Would have like more fruit and vegetable options for breakfast, although what was provided was good quality. Coffee very poor as it tasted like instant coffee. The rule of no drinks or any food whatsoever being taken to room is petty and off-putting.
Review 102:Very helpful staff. Nice walk 15-20 minute walk to Amalfi. Very clean hotel.
Review 103:No tea & coffee making facilities in the room .
Review 104:The style of the hotel was lovely not too modern but traditional .The staff were polite & helpful .The walk to the centre was ok but not ideal if you cannot walk far or handle steps .We like a bit of exercise so this suited us .
Review 105:Had a bad experience with the family staff...It appears to be a family owned venue and they use the Television lounge as their own private area. We made the mistake of wanting to sit in that area (which in a normal hotel would be the public lounge facing the sea) and were quickly made aware by Papa that we couldn't sit there...it was "Their" space. We also figured out early in the piece that "Papa" like perving on the guests...as my wife discovered when she settle back on a lounge chair on our private veranda and spotted him peering through the bushes on the pool deck down at her. When I went in search of the manager to lodge a complaint he immediately disavowed being the manager and quickly lost the ability to speak or understand English. Overall I wouldn't recommend this venue to any of my travelling friends..there are a number of hotels in the area that are just as well located and they appear to be very much more professionally run
Review 106:The room was clean and the bed comfortable (Firm) The location isn't bad...only a twenty minute walk down the road to Amalfi. We upgraded to one of the top floor seaview rooms with a great view of the Med and included a reasonable Continental breakfast
Review 107:There are many rules about what you can't do; there are signs throughout the hotel saying no outside food. You could not bring a bottle of wine back to your room.
Review 108:The hotel offers free parking. The wifi is good and there is a network on every floor. There is a nice sitting room that gets sun in the morning. They are very helpful about how to get around town and offered great advice for dinner.
Review 109:Make sure you tell the SITA bus driver to drop you off at the Hotel St. Caterina bus stop. It is a long walk uphill from the Amalfi bus station to the Hotel.
Review 110:The staff was the frendliest and most helpful of my trip. Also, the best breakfast. The room was great and had a fantastic view. The staff greatly enhanced my trip with their travel knowledge. They hooked me up with a driver that took me to Paestum. He was very nice and showed me a great time. He recommended that I see sights in Salerno, which I hadnh't planned on, and I loved Salerno!.
Review 111:The hotel is located on the main road about one half mile uphill from the city of Amalfi. If coming via bus or car from the Positano area, you can have the driver drop you off in front of the hotel so you don't have to pull the luggage uphill from the bus stop in Amalfi. Also, there is parking in front of the hotel, very rare for the Amalfi coast.
Review 112:The hotel is located on the main route along the Amalfi coast, however the rooms in the back of the hotel face a garden area and are very quiet. A real consideration because of the constant, loud motorcycle noise from the roadway or anywhere in the city area.
Review 113:Using public transport was easy but very long. Hotel provided transfer to airport which was a pleasant alternative .
Review 114:Position,views and scenery beautiful. Staff very welcoming always helpful and cheery. Perfect Italian coastal village within easy walking distance.
Review 115:Parking was available out the front and free. Breakfast for an extra 5 euro per person was nice . Nice views over the Amalfi coast. Short 10 minute walk down to the town centre of Amalfi.
Review 116:The staff were so unfriendly, unhelpful and sarcastic. Wifi was only available in the lobby, never in the rooms. They were also very unhelpful with this problem.
Review 117:Location was the best! Beautiful hotel and spacious rooms. Lovely balcony.
Review 118:The manager recommended a taxi to our next destination and gave us a price to hire one for the next morning. When we decided to book it I made the mistake of providing the wrong figure and he charged us more than the original price my husband had recalled. When I brought it to his attention he made the excuse of stating that it was because it was an early morning booking and did not adjust the price. It was a difference of 10 euros which is a big difference especially in dollars!!!
Review 119:I loved how close we were to the coast. The breakfast buffet had a good variety of common Italian continental breakfast.
Review 120:Distance to town. Service. Typical neat beach hotel. Traveling off season so not sure how close it is to the beach but it is 15 to 20 minutes walking distance to town. Service was very disappointing: at 8.30PM asked the manager if I could have a sandwich and a drink at the bar and he said he was short of personal, turned his back and went away.
Review 121:Balcony with views over the sea
Review 122:1. Restaurant shut for lunch and dinner, but they advertise fine food at those times in the room where we ate breakfast.2. Parking spaces are too narrow for other than very small cars like Mercedes Smart Car.
Review 123:Pleasant walk to Amalfi centre, great view from terrace room no. 105,kind staff.
Review 124:25 minute walk into Amalfi, mostly along a busy road. The return trip is up hill!
Review 125:Position - excellent views Breakfast excellent Helpfull staff Good value for money
Review 126:Bed was not comfortable. Poor boring breakfast, the lounge area lucks comfort, breakfast area feeling of a canteen rather than resort hotel. We booked the sea view room and got the view of neighbours balcony with them having sea view. No foreign channels on TV.
Review 127:Room was clean and everything was in order. Location was a walking distance from the town. The host was helpful.
The Fine Print
