Agriturismo I Bonsi descritpion

Set on the Valdarno Superiore hills to the south of Florence, I Bonsi is set in a fortified manor house dating back to the 15th century. The property features a park with outdoor swimming pool, and sun terraces with views of the Arno Valley.
Agriturismo I Bonsi offers rustic apartments, which blend original architectural features and modern facilities. Each features a patio, and a fully equipped kitchen or kitchenette. Free Wi-Fi is available in the apartments and by the pool.
The property is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. It was restored in a neo-Gothic style by the noble Budini Gattai family, who made it their residence in the 19th century. There is also a beautiful 17-century church.
You can visit the oil mill, and buy the olive oil and wine produced on site. Free parking is provided, and you can rent a bicycle at reception for free, and explore the estate and the area.

Reviews for Agriturismo I Bonsi

Review 1:The 'superior apartment' was not as advertised. For example, despite claiming to have air conditioning, this turned out to be one mobile unit, which we were unable to use as it required the ventilation of an open window, allowing mosquitoes access, and heat in.The apartment was therefore intolerably hot.The satelite T.V.would not switch on.The beautiful grounds and gardens shown in advert are not open to guests.Furnishings in lounge grubby and chair broken.Bed also broken, held together with length of copper wire.

Review 2:the pool was fabulous

Review 3:Beds not comftorbale, no attention to detail, never see staff, tvbroken, to remote location, there is no free bike hire, pool seatsuncomfortable, no beautiful gardens, nothing to do. Loads of mosquiosevery night in rooms bitten to death no nets on windows and big horsefly bites next to pool.

Review 4:Large rooms, wi fi, grand building not fully restored.

Review 5:A bit far away from the supermarket and restaurants. It's not a problem if you travel by car, but if you come by bus or train make sure that you have enough food for cooking during your stay. Everything else just perfect!

Review 6:Ideal place for rest, located on the beautiful Tuscany hills. Free bicycles rental service is available. Nice pool. Awesome nature. Good facilities for cooking and barbeque. Fresh air. Magnificent old castle. They also produce their own good olive oil and wine. Perfect place for rest!

Review 7:Lack of air conditioning. No nearby places to eat by foot but kitchen facilities great and supermarket short car journey away.

Review 8:The staff were lovely and very helpful. The scenery was beautiful. Great outdoor pool. Spacious accommodation, fully equipped. Very hilly surroundings but great routes for short runs to work of the pasta.

Review 9:A fabulous setting. Tranquil and undisturbed with a lovely pool and a relaxed atmosphere with Tuscan character.

Review 10:too far from fair choice or places to eat out

Review 11:nice facilities and quiet and in countryside

Review 12:Hard to find it

Review 13:Great location, wonderful view, enough place, very comfortable, fabled

Review 14:Everything is absolutely perfect! Thank You very much again for Your kindest hospitality!

Review 15:A bit too far from most of Tuscany attractions. The rooms are old and could use renovating.

Review 16:The pool was huge. And the WiFi was good everywhere.

Review 17:The narrow roads.

Review 18:Being out in the country.

Review 19:Wi-Fi was not a secure network, we had to ask for a change of linen in the 16 days we were there and the charges for the washing were too high. The site suggests there are laundry facilities but not that they must be paid for.

Review 20:The location, the buildings, the staff and the accommodation were just great and we loved that it was a working olive oil producer and a wine producer. The pool was wonderful and nothing was too much trouble.

Review 21:I did not notice A/C which was not an issue at all for us in early June. A little out of the way but in easy reach of many Tuscan hill top towns.

Review 22:Exceptional place that has been redone. It met what we wanted in a stone farm house to reside in the Tuscan countryside though this is more like a castle- beautiful and well kept.

Review 23:Absolutely wonderful place! Very friendly staff (warmest regards to Ms. Benedetta!), cozy and quite "authentic" premises, beatiful garden. Initially we planned to visit many places, but it was quite uneasy to leave I Bonsi even for Roma or Florence.

Review 24:The rooms are very clean and peaceful. The castle is very nice and close to Firenze. We enjoyed ourselves great, the pool is also very clean and big enough. We surely recommend this hotel to our friends.

Review 25:The staff were fantastic. Very accomodating and friendly. Monica, Bernadetta (and another staff - name I do not remember) were very open and approachable. My sisters (3) and I loved the area and loved the accomodations. If there were a place we would choose to go back in Italy it would be to Agriturismo 1 Bonsi.

Review 26:The address given on booking.com does not work with GPS, when we got to apartment there was an alternate address we were to use in GPS, that was a little too late. We need that at time of booking when you print out that confirmation.

Review 27:We had an apartment so it really had everything you need. Staying in a 15 th century made it special. The grounds are amazing. Fantastic country get away. Would highly recommend staying there. I would stay there again for sure.

Review 28:Very pleasant appartments in wonderful environment. The garden andthe pool area are very nice. For bikers there is a very nice streetup the mountain to Vallombrosa (~ 11km). Definitely a place to visita second time!

Review 29:Beautiful apartment in an old abbey surrounded by lovely gardens locatedin the Tuscan countryside. What's not to like? The location wasclose enough for a day trip into Florence and the galleries. Bernadettawas wonderful to my family and very helpful getting us free bikes for aride down the local roads. Our stay here was one of the highlights ofour trip to Europe.

Review 30:Nothing to say.

Review 31:So cozy and warm like nowhere. Our apartments were spacious and cleanand equiped with everything we needed. The hostess Benedetta is so niceand friendly. Thanks to her detailed maps we found were to eat, toshopping, to buy food, to park in Florence, to taste wine and so on!She made our staying there very comfortable. A great location to makeshort trips to Toscanian places of interest. Besides it is a realcastle of a 14 centuary with fantastic view to the hills and peacockswalking around!

Review 32:The stairs were very narrow and steep, a bit of a challenge to climb, making it difficult to get luggage in and out, but did add to the charmof this pretty Tuscan apartment.

Review 33:A Scenic and charming Tuscan estate. We stayed in the apartment whichhad a kitchen and seating area, with bedroom and bathroom upstairs, veryquaint and comfortable and everything on hand to cater for yourself.Staff were very helpful when needed and spoke English well and sent lotsof map info beforehand on how to reach. The peacocks added to the charmin and around the estate and some beautiful hilly scenic walks aroundthis area.

Review 34:They could have provided a map on booking so as to facilitate arrivalfor foreigners who are not familiar with Tuscany or the Italianlanguage. If I hadn't spoken good Italian we would never have found it.Otherwise perfect!

Review 35:The apartment was delightful - clean and large and well-equipped. Thesurroundings were stunning and the staff very friendly and falling overthemselves to help and give advice about the area etc. The peacockswere a bonus!

Review 36:We loved everything about I Bonsi. It was beautiful, peaceful and serene. The hosts were friendly and over-the-top hospitable and accommodating. We hope to go back soon and often!
