Reviews for Hotel Miramalfi
Review 1:For a 4 star hotel, this is the first time I have slept in a bunk bed. Disappointing. Parking must pay very expensive price.
Review 2:The hotel has the best view all around. You can see everything from this hotel. Very beautiful sea view and the city with the coast. Breakfast is nice, hotel is clean and not noisy street.
Review 3:The staff is fantastic, our waiter Maria and Massimo could not have been any better. The hotel has the best location by far and the access to the ocean and pool are amazing!
Review 4:The room was somewhat small, but our view was incredible. The beds were a little hard and small.
Review 5:The most wonderful aspect of the Miramalfi is its staff. They are fabulous!
Review 6:- the shuttle to Amalfi centre only runs until around 730pm in the evening (not later), although it is only a short walk along the road, mainly on the pavement - we didn't eat dinner at the hotel as it seemed rather formal and expensive. A greater variety of food (including poolside food) would have been good.
Review 7:We had a great stay at this hotel for 4 nights. Best things were: - fantastic location on the cliffs right by the sea with an amazing pool and sun loungers right by the rocks. Lots of swimming in the sea. - the deluxe double room was great - a good size, with a large terrace (definitely worth paying the extra to get the sun loungers) with great sea views and towards Amalfi - the breakfast was delicious - we found the staff were great and helpful (only the pool staff were a little brusque). Overall would definitely recommend it and would return.
Review 8:Warm, friendly and very helpful staff! I immediately felt relaxed and very much at home, Fantastic view and great location, in my opinion, the best (I've stayed previously in Amalfi)
Review 9:Bed was like rock and sheets felt plastic like. Rooms are 70's Australia style with greens and oranges which didn't worry us. The walk to Amalfi is very dangerous with narrow roads and plenty of traffic and a cab ride for 2 mins is E$10. Like all accomodation close to Amalfi and on the water a bit pricey. AU$450 a night including city taxes which are paid in cash.
Review 10:Great location just a 10 minute walk to centre of Amalfi. We had room 1 which was a superior king. Views amazing from good size balcony. Pool is ocean water and along with many sun lounges, pool side shower and courteous pool staff a great experience. Great experience.
Review 11:Dirty room, they don't change sheets everyday. Don't book this hotel. After 2 nights from 3 we decide to leave and they charge us the full amount. Also the price is high about 340 euro per day( for us cost 520 because we leave after 2 nights)
Review 12:Only location was good
Review 13:We loved it all. The sheets could be softer but overall everything was excellent!
Review 14:We loved the staff which really made our stay perfection! Also, great location, beautiful views and delicious food.
Review 15:I can't think of anything I didn't like.
Review 16:The location is excellent. Its close to the Amalfi city center. You can easily walk from the hotel to the town. And the staff is outstanding. Gabriele is my favorite waiter.
Review 17:They allowed smoking on the deck at breakfast, although, when we inquired, we were told it was NOT allowed, yet nothing was said to the smoker. Should put up "No Smoking" signs. Limited menu at pool.
Review 18:The views were STUNNING!!....very nice breakfast!....staff very nice; Gabrielle, at breakfast, was SO sweet & accomodating!!
Review 19:Perfect location right on the front of the Amalfi Coast with excellent views of the ocean. In close proximity to the town. Excellent facilities all round especially for the pool and ocean swim.
Review 20:Decor was quite old in the rooms. Beds not the most comfortable but acceptable.
Review 21:Great location, sun beds by ocean & pool were great spot, restaurant has amazing views & good was very nice. Staff were very friendly & helpful. Short walk to town so very handy.
Review 22:More local information would be good in the information packs in the rooms; where to go , activities available, hotel rules, historic sites to visit, boat trips/rental ect. Rooms slightly dated- although the blankets wasn't needed, could rather use duvets? Views from rooms slightly restricted, only really lovely when you stand on the balcony, nt sure how it can be improved as part of the building, otherwise nice and private, Few empty areas that could easily can be converted to a gym area- without to much expense, which will be great after all the pastas and pizzas, and will have fantastic views for inspiration:) and a beautician area.
Review 23:Loved the views, setting against the mountain, different levels. Location is great, a short walk to town (shuttle available). Bathrooms we'll maintained, and were asked if we need new towels in the evening. Although the 'what we didn't like' is more recommendations that will make the hotel a almost 10, we would recommend the hotel any time. We had a great stay in Amalfi. Thank you.
Review 24:Rooms not updated - the hotel needs some modernization. Queen bed was 2 twins pushed together.
Review 25:Cool pool and sun lounge on the cliffs leading to the water.
Review 26:Apart from the porter who manages the parking and Transfer to Amalfi the staff is not very friendly - you do not really feel welcome!
Review 27:Absolutely amazing location! Good breakfast!
Review 28:Nothing - all good
Review 29:Amazing views from every where, cliff side pool, really lovely staff, easy 10 min walk into town, very clean with twice daily maid service and delicious food.
Review 30:In Italy, especially a hotel such as this one, at no time should instant coffee (cappuccino) be served--never ever. Also, walk to town is very dangerous. A courtesy shuttle would be a good addition.
Review 31:Outstanding location.
Review 32:The pool. Why does a pool have to look like as a piano. Swimming is a straightforward matter. Luckily the daily 60 minutes swim was satisfied in the Thyrrenian.
Review 33:The staff!! Front desk, wait staff, cleaning personnel, everybody was a walking angel.
Review 34:Rooms located directly under the restaurant have an early wake up call with scraping chairs & squeaky/noisy awning. Found the dinner menu very restricted & not too inspiring.
Review 35:A short distance from centre of Amalfi, but perfectly located. Good facilities, clean swimming pool. Helpful staff, shuttle bus for the morning or evening. Views are wonderful.
Review 36:Some parts of the hotel have to be reconstructed for example bathrooms, lifts, and stone pavement at the sea. Pool staff was really unfriendly. And double bed turned out to be two single mattresses put together, really uncomfortable for couples. The hotel in general isn't worth the price.
Review 37:Friendly staff, incredible dinner, sea and view
Review 38:We had a decent room, apart from we was below the restaurant so therefore could be a little noisey in the mornings. Rooms are a little dated - adds to the charm. Shower not the best, as I said needs a little updating. But would go back , no hesitation about that.
Review 39:It's all about the location, location. Miramalfi had an abundance of that.
Review 40:Where shall I start!! Very very dirty hotel I'm surprised how is it a four stars hotel!!! I give it 2 or 3 max...when we first arrive the room floor was full of dirt and food Pices from the previous gust tables are layers of dust!! We found ants and worms on the floors . I had to call the house keeping to clean it and show her how to do it !!!! Air condition never works they got us a fan for the whole stay!!!we tried to check out to go to other hotels but all was full!!! Very expensive for what it is
Review 41:The view
Review 42:Not even one bad experience!
Review 43:The hotel location was perfect, the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were very comfortable, and the bathrooms spacious.
Review 44:Wifi is very bad but it was like that in every hotel that we stayed inItaly so it was expected. It was actually a great thing because we trulyshut down from all electronics, which for us was a needed boost. TheItalian T.V's are not the best either.
Review 45:This property is perfectly located close to the main village (about 5 -10 minute walk) and it's over looking the ocean. The beach (which isjust a cement platform over the ocean) is awesome. Very private, no sandand water is very warm in July. If you stay here, go to the restaurantacross the street from this hotel (about 100 yards).
Review 46:Room was a bit disappointing... Went with my husband and 2 adult children and booked a family room... They gave us bunk beds and a small room and bathroom, not like the the photos... Very cramped for 2 nights 3 days...
Review 47:The staff were very helpful and the place was beautiful...
Review 48:There wasn't anything that I could complain.
Review 49:I loved that it was on a cliff overlooking the See and the town of Amalfi. THe WiFi was very good too.. Food was fantastic and the attention to service on spot!
Review 50:Our room and bathroom were tired looking. The shower did not work properly, little or no water pressure, bed old and uncomfortable, the in-room safe did not have a lock on it, cupboard doors were missing handles, staff whilst courteous were not overly friendly or helpful...it all added up to us feeling like we were being taken advantage of as we were paying what we believed was a fair price. Would we return or recommend? No. If we had our time again, Ravello or Positano or actually staying longer on the Italian Riviera where we felt that we got better value for money, for the same amount spent, and a much better experience. Amalfi is a tourist town, coaches and ferries bring large number of day visitors, and we sensed that almost everyone was trying to make an extra euro or ten from every tourist. Taxi's very expensive, local buses full and finish service early in the evening meaning it is hard to travel between towns at night.
Review 51:The view from our room was special and the food served in the restaurant was of an ok standard. The room was clean. Staff were courteous. The car service was on time but the times available are limited.
Review 52:It didn't have a gym
Review 53:All the staff were very accomodating and the breakfast staff especially were very pleasant in making your morning exceptionally specially. The location was just a short walk to the centre village which was great if you want to walk off all the food you eat and thoroughly enjoyed. Great buffet breakfast. The pool area had a view to die for. Spectacular views all around in every location of the hotel. I would thoroughly reccomended this hotel as this was my second visit and the great service level was maintained.
Review 54:Did not think the meals were that special. Always preferred to eat out.
Review 55:The hotel staff are friendly and very helpful. Not far from Amafi town, the views are amazing over Amalfi and surrounding areas . Loved the sun decks looking out to sea. The maid always took time on cleaning room, bed linen and towels lovely and white and good quality.
Review 56:We had booked a Junior suite, but changed rooms as the suite was very dissapointing. I recommend a deluxe double with balcony and therefore sun from morning till mid afternoon.
Review 57:Room with a balcony overlooking the sea was amazing.
Review 58:The reason why I wanted to stay this hotel was to see the beautiful sight of Amalfi at the night. However, although I booked a room with sea view, I could not see the view of Amalfi from my room at all which was vey disappointing.
Review 59:Stuff is very friendly and helpful!! Helped me out with finding the way to get to the next destination. The view from the restaurant is amazing at the night. I Would love to come back in summer!!
Review 60:Perched on the cliff face overlooking Amalfi, the location is spectacular. Wherever you stay in Amalfi you probably find yourself climbing steps and the Miramalfi is no different with a ten minute walk to the main square - not a problem for most guests if they've missed hotel shuttle - and the magical view from the rooms, dining room and terraces more than makes the effort worthwhile. Best of all, however, are the staff. They are everything they should be - courteous, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return.
Review 61:Hotel room is small and comfortless. And staff at front desk are not friendly.
Review 62:The wi-fi is good and breakfast is just okay. However the hotel has good view if you select a room with sea view where you can see Amalfi on the left hand side!
Review 63:This hotel is a 10-15 min walk or 5 min taxi ride up the hill from Amalfi. Because we were there in the low season, the restaurant was not open and we had to go down to Amalfi for meals other than breakfast.
Review 64:We loved the balcony and the views out over the water as well as views back over Amalfi. Breakfast was delicious and the staff very friendly.
Review 65:Restaurant closed for winter Property is aged Staff at best courteous Overpriced for the value offering Would not recommend out of season
Review 66:Great location
Review 67:The only down side was that the shuttle was not running. We had to get a taxi to take us to the bus station at the end of our stay , a distance of 0.5 Kilometer and we were charged 15 Euro.We had just been all the way to Ravello and back for 70 Euro.So we thought the final taxi fare to B/S was outrageous.
Review 68:We had a lovely stay at the Mirimalfi. The delightful receptionist went out of her way to ensure that our stay was all we had hoped for.Our room had beautiful views and we really enjoyed it.We had a beautiful meal in the Resturant and enjoyed meeting the chef.
Review 69:The beds and pillows were a bit too firm.
Review 70:Only a 10 minute walk into the village of Amalfi. Friendly , helpful staff. Wonderful views from your own balcony. Access to the sea from the hotel .
Review 71:Although they have a shuttle system to the center of the city, but they finish ones too early at evening,so the guest they go out to a restaurant to have a dinner, can return to the hotel only walking along a without pavement local country road
Review 72:Beautiful view from all area of the hotel, good parking possibility on the sea-cost,where that is rather difficult
Review 73:Having a room below the restaurant/function room. Footsteps and scraping of chairs at 6.30am when setting up for breakfast, a wedding above our heads on Saturday night and a party on Sunday. Room a bit old fashioned and breakfast was a bit ordinary and the same every day. We expected a bit more from a 4 star hotel.
Review 74:Amalfi and surrounding area is just beautiful. Lovely Views from room, restaurant and roof top bar. Salt water pool and swimming in the sea direct from the hotel cliff side.
Review 75:Not exactly in the center. You are like 500mts up hill on the route to Positano. You can go walking or there are charters from the Hotel. All these are good things, except if you habe some one with dificulties walking, we had to use taxi just for 500mt = 15€. But its really near and there is a charter from the hotel during the day..
Review 76:Amaizing views!!! Great terrace with live music (Mondays). Nice and clean rooms. The amenities, beach access, pool were great!!
Review 77:Would have liked hot drink making facilities in our room.No toaster to make toast at breakfast.
Review 78:The staff were friendly and helpful, the pool and bathing facilities excellent. The public areas of the hotel were comfortable with stunning views. The room was clean and the bed very comfortable.Hotel Shuttle to and from Amalfi centre.
Review 79:They never sent back something we had forgotten in the room, despite emails and phone calls.
Review 80:This hotel is very well located The view is very beautiful on Amalfi, nice restaurant and also a very good breakfast.
Review 81:staff uncorteus (except for the porter!), musty smell in the room, loud night music event on friday hasn't let us sleep, mouse droppings on the balcony, poor breakfast quality, lack of interest in meeting our basic needs.
Review 82:the view, the Amalfi coast
Review 83:The view from the balcony was amazing . Our room was very clean ,well decorated and extremely comfortable. The hotel staff were very helpful and the breakfast had every thing we could have wished for.
Review 84:Beds not the comfiest but lovely clean room looking out to sea with nice balcony with sun loungers.
Review 85:Position in relation to Amalfi town centre. Pool and sunbathing area and access to sea.
Review 86:Asked for car to be ready early in the morning but was delayed as it was still parked behind other cars.
Review 87:Great location and views from the restaurant. Rooftop bar is nice if a little public. Convenient car park.
Review 88:Firm beds.
Review 89:View of Amalfi and the surrounding sea was amazing. Swimming pool, access to the sea. Lifts to all levels (Hotel is on a clifftop). Restaurant food very good.
Review 90:We did not receive the Superior Double Room as shown and requested on the Booking.com web site, the Le Onde restaurant was closed for the year were we had expected to have lunch on a daily basis & the staff were less than friendly and attentive during our stay. We feel that we were let down by Booking.com as what was advertised & expected was not delivered.
Review 91:The location of the hotel, room & sun deck / pool areas were ideal for our needs clean tidy & well presented.
Review 92:the cost.. i understand this is prime property and high season, but too expensive, the room is nothing special. the staff could be more friendly. paying 18eur for parking per day is unacceptable, considering the high daily room rate already. they put us in a room with a smaller balcony at first, after complaining we were moved to one with a standard balcony. i wont stay here again, but can recommend it if you have a huge wallet.
Review 93:the view is amazing, right above the water on the coast. balcony is decent size with sun chairs. the view during breakfast was great.
Review 94:Breakfast is average and didn't match the hotels location.
Review 95:Stunning location, friendly and helpful staff, location of swimming pool, carved into rock face.
Review 96:Rooms are not sound proof and we couldn't sleep due to our loud neighbor. Staff at the reception is pretty unfriendly.
Review 97:Rooms were clean, food is very nice and the waiters are impeccable. The location is outstanding and the view is breathtaking.
Review 98:Uncomfy beds - we were staying in superior rooms.
Review 99:Super location with lovely private pool and steps into the sea. Quiet yet a short walk to the centre of Amalfi.
Review 100:rooms are very old and bed is not comfortable at all.doors are noisy wi fi doesnt work the hotel decoration is still in 1980's and need to be renovated the price is too high
Review 101:good location and great view and good breakfast
Review 102:We didn't care for the waiters at the resturant. The food was great, but the service and their attitude was not too good. So outside of breakfast and eating sandwiches at the pool, we went elsewhere for dinner.
Review 103:The location is magnificent. The Hotel staff was wonderful. Especially Tony, he parks your car, drives the shuttle into Amalfi and also takes care of your luggage. He was terrific!
Review 104:For that price, we were really surprised to eat terrible food in the restaurant, some of waiters were almost aggressive and sleeping in was impossible considering you can hear everything your neighbour is doing in the room next door. The staff at reception were very helpful and the view was wonderful however.
Review 105:Nice view
Review 106:That there was not a Trattoria type restaurant only to discover that they are near completion of one so the only thing we did not like is now sorted.
Review 107:Location, location, location. Hotel sits in a beautiful location with breath taking views. Pool area is great for a relaxing time with superb views over the sea and to Amalfi town. Access to sea from pool area. Staff are excellent, very friendly, funny and helpful. Special mention to Gabriele and Michele who both go out their way to be helpful and have a great sense of humour. Only a ten minute walk to Amalfi but down a very windy fast road with very little pavements and you do take your life in your hands as cars drive very close by and at speed. Great food in Amalfi.
Review 108:Absolutely nothing.
Review 109:Amazing view! Lovely size suite for three! Comfortable beds and excellent daily room service. The staff made our stay just wonderful--helpful with maps, organizing drivers. The food was superb and the wait staff were incredibly friendly. Every meal was excellent--met the chef who takes great pride in providing a wonderful range of delicacies. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Review 110:The rooms are a little dated but do have charm.
Review 111:The Hotel has the most amazing views I have ever seen. The pool on the side of the cliff is spectacular. The rooms are a little dated but the view and pool far out ways this. The staff were so friendly and helpful. I will never forget this beautiful hotel!!
Review 112:We had major problems with the door lock to room # 22. We could NOT unlock the door from outside, and management to go either through the balcony or through the next door room to get into our room to open the door from the inside.
Review 113:Location, staff
Review 114:We did not drink a beer which was in a refrigerator. But it was written in the hotel receipt.
Review 115:Nice view.
Review 116:Breakfast
Review 117:Fabulous seaview with a spectacular sunrise from the bedroom.
Review 118:Good location, fantastic view
Review 119:Hotel needs update.
Review 120:Lovely pool, incredible views. Hotel needs decoration update. Expensive for service and old fashioned furniture.
Review 121:What's not to like
Review 122:The staff and the chef are tip top.
Review 123:Staff were very friendly
Review 124:Very Friendly staff and great location with superb views. Walking distance to Amalfi centre.
Review 125:It was outstanding!
Review 126:Bed was a little hard
Review 127:Location and acess to water and boat. Views
Review 128:The view and the location - close to Amalfi town square - were ourstanding. The pool is also wonderful.
Review 129:The location, the view, the 50's charme.
Review 130:Lack of tea/coffee making facilities in room
Review 131:Helpfull and friendly staff
Review 132:didnt like that room had no iron, walks paper thin or no tea/coffee making in room
Review 133:location was great
Review 134:Only tiny lift to pool
Review 135:Beautiful view to port & ocean Friendly waiters
Review 136:Nothing.
Review 137:Everything food staff and situation.
