Reviews for Melbourne Short Stay Apartments - Melbourne CBD

Review 1:Blinds needed a dusting

Review 2:The best thing about staying at these apartments is the location. Tram stop right at the door, Pub with wonderful breakfasts and dinners, next door Main train station / Bus terminal less then 50 metres down the road but very quiet in the room.

Review 3:The hotel is not well signed - it was slightly difficult to find and we had to rely on searching for the number to get to the place.

Review 4:I loved the size of the apartment, it's cleanliness and design, and the location of the hotel - so close to everything we needed!

Review 5:It seemed a bit pricy seeing as though is was just an apartment (no daily cleaning or anything) and the lifts felt a little dodgy, like they needed maintenance.

Review 6:Excellent, patient staff Very clean and everything looked new

Review 7:The parking (particularly, how to return the garage key on checkout) was a bit complicated.

Review 8:The apartment was very centrally located, which was convenient as we were all going to meetings in different parts of the city.

Review 9:Couldn't better the location. Kitchen appliances and set up excellent as were the laundry facilities. View from living room very good. Staff most pleasant , good eating around. Transport at the door.Very handy to Southern Cross Station.

Review 10:The unit could have been cleaned to a higher standard.

Review 11:We liked the location, it was a easy walk to everywhere we needed to go. The price was very good for the area. The unit had everything we needed.

Review 12:Convenience of location with tram stop outside door, train station and bus depot 2 minutes walk, Etihad Stadium 3 minutes walk away. A few minutes on the tram and you're in Bourke St Mall. Ideal location.

Review 13:We had a problem with our reservation, it was double booked. They fit us in but we had to change rooms after one night.

Review 14:Convenient location to Southern Cross station and the bus to airport Handy to have kitchen amenities Comfortable bed

Review 15:Property is looking a bit tired and is less than the 4 star quality we expected. This has been noted by their management and I'm told they're planning a bit of a clean up. The joinery is not double glazed so a bit noisy as well.

Review 16:Location was fantastic. After hours concierge provided great and friendly customer service for our after hours check in.

Review 17:Some delays for people checking in when several people arrive with only one person to do the multiple tasks of checking in, transfer of bags to storage when guests arrive prior to 2.00pm & retrieval of baggage from storage for those guests who have checked out. The on site receptionist is to be commended. The situation I encountered may have been an uncommon occurrence.

Review 18:The cheery disposition of the on site receptionist combined with her efficiency and helpfulness. Her uncanny ability to remember my name was impressive and made me feel at home. She is to be commended and treasured as an employee.

Review 19:It was all good!

Review 20:The apartment was well stocked a lovley size great facilities and very comfortable - perfect location by the tram stop too and walkable to lots of the town with shops restaurants etc

Review 21:Not a bad comment but, shame there wasn't free wi fi.

Review 22:Location. Accessibility. Ease of booking. Facilities in the apartment were as advertised - perfect for couple. Tram stop right outside building and all kinds of shops (food) nearby. Gotta luv Melbourne !!!

Review 23:It was close to bus station, trams and walking distance to town. Staff were very friendly and helpful . Plenty of space in the apartment and good facilities.

Review 24:Hard to pick up and drop off keys due to traffic and no parking. The bathrooms need a exhaust fan. A little dangerous that the only way to lock the door when I side is by using your key. You then need the key to work the air conditioner, so in an emergency, you can't get out.

Review 25:Close to conference centre and trams. Good size lunge and kitchen area

Review 26:There was no dark color curtain and the blinds used in our two bed rooms were insufficient to block the strong sunlight.

Review 27:Location and complete kitchen and laundry facilities.

Review 28:Very close to everything, trams stop right out front.Friendly & helpful staff. We asked for a good view of city & very pleased with room we got. 27th floor we were on.Very happy with our week there.

Review 29:- WiFi is extortionate - A$10 per day or A$50 a week! In this day and age, it should be free. - Staff are not especially friendly or flexibility; I arrived at 4.45pm (reception still open) but my paperwork had already been given to the building concierge who didn't really know what he was doing; no flexibility with departure time - not even an extra hour; on check-out, the receptionist didn't have change for me to settle my bill and suggested I go and get myself a coffee so I had the correct change!

Review 30:- location is excellent, close to Spencer St station and tram stops, walking distance shopping area, Fed Square etc. - well equipped and laid-out apartments, very comfortable.

Review 31:Range hood faulty and oven did not work . Dusty behind furniture and window sills filthy. Swimming pool not operating and notified only after booking.

Review 32:We requested a 2 room apartment with 2 single beds in one room. We were given 2 double bed rooms and advised that we were sent an email , which we did not receive. We required a cot for one night only and were charged for 4. The pool was closed for renovation and we were not advised of this. These were minor issues in the grand scheme of things and we would certainly stay there again.

Review 33:The location was excellent, very close to Southern Cross Station and the tram stop was outside the front door. The apartment was spacious and comfortable.

Review 34:The only thing missing was an in room safe otherwise couldn't recommend it more highly

Review 35:the hotel was opposite the starting and finishing point for sky bus it was rt next to tram stop and opposite southern cross station staff were exceptionally helpful showing us places of interest

Review 36:Bedrooms did not have blackout curtains or screens. Quite noisy in the apartment, as you could hear the traffic and people on the street all hours.

Review 37:Terrific location to access public transport, Crown Casino and Southbank Precinct. Convenience store and liquor outlet attached onsite.

Review 38:Calling them "Serviced" is a stretch. With 3 females gettingtheir hair and makeup done for multiple events (and 3 guys in tow) onetowel each for a week just didn't cut it. Any extra toiletriesneeded (eg toilet paper) where said to be provided at an extra cost toyou, and we weren't given full rolls to start off with. If you canget someone at reception, they aren't very speeding in helping you.The fridge in the appartment didn't work and it took 3 days for it to be fixed. The third bedroom had no working light and the main bathroom light blew halfway through our stay. If your planning on having a big night, be warned! The blinds don't block out the sun whatsoever. These rooms have great potential, I just don't think MSSA had them ready for guests.

Review 39:Very close to Southern Cross Station, which was great for getting to andfrom Flemmimgton Racecourse during the cup carnival.

Review 40:Free tram stop right outside easy to get around and stores nearby to get provisions. The Apartment had everything we needed for a five night stay enjoyed it very much.

Review 41:Had problems with fire alarm late at night and could not contact anyone good idea to put spare battery in drawer I think separate toilet would be good idea.

Review 42:Location

Review 43:It was a excellent location close to everything we needed will recommend these apartments to anyone wanting to stay in Melbourne the free tram was just outside so that made it very easy getting around

Review 44:We booked quite late so no chance of twin beds so my son slept on the floor.

Review 45:Great spot 4 doors down from Southern Cross station, good for Sky Bus access to and from airport.

Review 46:Very complex check in with a very large bond payment which is not returned at the end of the stay but will be returned in"a few days".

Review 47:Security,location,good range of cutlery and crockery and reasonably comfortable for six.

Review 48:The blinds did nothing to keep the light out. There was only one lift working for 4 days and on some Occassion we had to wait nearly an hour to get up in the one lift as there were so many people wanting it. We advised reception we had issued and they were coming to see us. We never heard from anyone

Review 49:Location, having two bathrooms

Review 50:Impressive foyer, fast lift which brings you to a very nicely decorated hall. But when you enter the apartment it is a shocker. Stinky carpets, scratched walls. Extremely worn out and dirty looking furniture, uncomfortable sofa. Apartment really needs to be freshly painted, needs new flooring and should be re-decorated. New furniture is a must. Even a nice view didn't help the situation. It is just NOT a nice apartment. Will NOT book again.

Review 51:Great location, friendly staff, apartment is big, beds are comfortable, great shower head - good pressure. Kitchen has everything you need to cook and wash. Big fridge.

Review 52:We really loved our stay, however, If there was a recommendation we could make it would to replace the carpets in the living areas with something more maintainable for longer stays. As there was no vacuum in the apartment we found that the floors were very hard to keep clean.

Review 53:We loved the location as it was a 2min walk from Southern Cross Station & across road from free trams into city. We were also able to catch a sky bus from the airport & walk to apartment which was a big bonus as we had a family of 5. We were on the 22nd floor & had an amazing view from our 3 brm apartment. The apartment was very spacious & clean & had everything we needed for our weeks stay. We would definitely stay again.

Review 54:A bit complicated for car parking. You have to park in Bourke street to get info on getting into car park and then a bit difficult if you have a lot of luggage getting to apartment - made 2 trips. Would be good to have casserole dish for oven - very limited variety of cooking dishes, but sufficient for short stay. Well equiped kitchen.

Review 55:Staff very helpful. Location excellent - opposite southern cross station and sky bus. Tram outside door to city centre. Free tram to city centre. Supermarket close by. Good facilities in apartment and building. Secure parking.

Review 56:Free Wifi included in the room rate would be great. Having to pay for WIFI connectivity in this time and age is abit ridiculous. 10am check out time is seriously too early! Reception staff, Rani, is really great!

Review 57:Check-in was rather bureaucratic with what seemed like unending documents to sign about keeping the apartment in good order, rules about holding parties, etc., having to be accepted. Seemed unnecessarily complex, but the main market will be people wanting to rent an apartment for several weeks or longer. We had difficulty getting the washing machine to work and there were no instructions to be found in the apartment as were indicated; turned out we just had to lift the programme knob to start the cycle.

Review 58:The apartment was enormous with a separate bedroom, large sitting room with balcony, bathroom and well equipped kitchen area, and a separate washing machine and tumbler drier in the bathroom, also equipment such as ironing board and iron, with plenty of storage in all areas. ID tag security operated lift provided additional safety in this city centre location close to Southern Cross Station. Very central and close to lots of facilities such as supermarkets, car hire, tram network outside the door, etc.

Review 59:Too many emails regarding rules and regulations. The bathroom was on on-suite to 1 of the bedrooms. Carpet was stained and blinds were damaged. Cramped space.

Review 60:Great location.

Review 61:being on 22nd floor as was traveling with young baby. Also heat pump wasn't great and the bedroom was quite cold (for baby). We had to get the portacot changed as it was very old and a different mattress which wasn't suited which wasn't good. There could be more clean towels as we stayed 6 nights and only had 2 towels for that period

Review 62:Very convenient location

Review 63:Free wifi would have been a bonus!!!

Review 64:Location was excellent. Close to conveniences and transport. Apartment was very well appointed. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

Review 65:No 24 hour reception desk, wifi is not free. No refill of consumables

Review 66:Just the opposite of the Southern Cross station, fully equipped kitchen, indoor swimming pool, good value for money

Review 67:The 4 of us found the pillows on the beds too high. We asked for flatter ones, but were told there were no others.

Review 68:Loved the location and the size of our apartment. Both were ideal for our group of 4 ladies.

Review 69:The bathroom lighting was dull. We were a couple plus one female sharingone bathroom and were disappointed that there was only one mirror in thewhole apartment, which was at the end of the rectangular bathroom, withan energy-saving oyster light that was nowhere near the mirror. Therewas no extractor fan in the bathroom. It would be ideal to have a full-length mirror in each bedroom plus a nearby accessible power outlet fora hairdryer (some of us are more high maintenance than others lol).

Review 70:We loved the proximity to Southern Cross Station, outlets, airportshuttle transfer and free trams right outside our door. We had a 2br, 1bath corner apartment on the 13th floor with open views and plenty oflight in living areas. The bathroom was a 2-way bathroom, with entrydoors from the lounge and 2nd bedroom. Both bedrooms were of equal size, with plenty of storage and qs beds. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 71:The internet was not reliable and should have been offered at no cost. As one family in 2 separate apartments we would have preferred being on the same floor as the security in the building made it very difficult to go from floor to floor. The phone system didn't work so we couldn't call from room to room and the Intercom system didn't work either.

Review 72:The apartment was ideally situated, close to the main train station and in front of a tram stop in the free tram zone.

Review 73:I had a huge safety issue in which the balcony door was not locked and I informed the reception and although promises were made, nothing happened. That was very dangerous as I have little children.

Review 74:Have to pay for wifi.

Review 75:Location is the best. Right in front of the doorstep is the free tram zone. Nearby to Coles supermarket and walking distance from southern cross station where the skybus from airport alighted you. Superb location.

Review 76:Switch board in bedroom made buzzing sound twice asked in 7 days to exit the property for maintenance and cleaning 8th Floor smelt in corridor noise from other units intrusive fry pan too large for gas rings so was at risk of falling off base

Review 77:the furniture is dated, venetians blinds are crooked, and the place is dark, not as nice as seen in the photos

Review 78:the location - great location free tram stop right in front of property

Review 79:The sofa should be changed. The Wi-fi connection was not very good.

Review 80:I booked a 2 BR but got upgraded to a 3BR :) It was spacious and love the washer and dryer in the toilet.

Review 81:No room service. On a holiday you are not expected to sit and clean your room. No kitchen supplies. Stinky rooms

Review 82:Cool place, nice and cordial staff. Specially Rani and Virendra

Review 83:Only complaint would be the comfort of the bed. We stayed for 3 nights and ended up with back ache. Our suggestion would be to have soft tops on the bed. Furniture was quite dated.

Review 84:Location was fantastic. Apartment had everything you could want and was very spacious.

Review 85:The view, the uncomfortable lounge setting, no table and chairs on the balcony, dryer was not working properly and there was no clothes aired to hang your clothes on to dry. We booked 6 months ahead and got a very average room with no view

Review 86:Location Comfortable beds

Review 87:All the advertising suggested we would have enjoyed stunning views, but from the 8th floor we missed out, which was disappointing.

Review 88:The location was close to trams, country trains, Docklands area & the CBD.

Review 89:I was travelling with 4 children I would have preferred two lots of single beds instead of a double

Review 90:Great access to public transport. Very helpful and friendly staff

Review 91:The Internet connection was poor . I can't get connected at all. However, we still got charged in the end . Luckily I bought it for 24hours instead for the whole week we stay.

Review 92:I like the location. The tram stop is right in front of the entrance. The room is nice . We got a high floor! The view fantastic.

Review 93:- Oven in kitchen, but no baking dishes or trays for use in oven. - Cramped "over bath" shower - Bed clothes not particularly good - dooona should be larger and cased in proper cover. - Insufficient amenities for 6-night stay - Insufficient supply of laundry detergent

Review 94:- Location - Nightly rate - Hanging space in bedroom - Washing machine and dryer in bathroom

Review 95:OLD APARTMENTS & NEEDS MAINTENANCE DESPERATELY DOOR LOCK TO OUR APARTMENT WAS BAD, OUT OF 4 , 2 OVEN BURNERS DID NOT OPERATE

Review 96:LOCATION, HELPFUL STAFF

Review 97:Air con did not work for any of the three night stay despite advising staff This included a 5 degree night

Review 98:Accessibility from airport City views Spacious living room

Review 99:A great place to stay for 4 adults and 2 children. Easy to self cater with supermarket close and all cooking/cleaning/washing equipment provided. Southern cross station and No. 86/96 trams right outside the door.

Review 100:Close to Etihad Stadium, Sothern Cross Train station and there is a tram stop just out the front which is free around the CBD. The apartment was perfect and had an amazing view.

Review 101:In this day and age I would expect WiFi to be a free service.

Review 102:Very prompt service in getting the missing hairdryer replaced. The apartment was beautifully clean, comfortable and in an excellent location to utilise all the attractions of Central Melbourne. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Review 103:Not the best pillows but the only gripe I have

Review 104:Great location, service was friendly, apartment was of generous size and very functionable for 6 adults. Loved it would stay there again in a heart beat

Review 105:Accommodation very comfortable & staff very friendly & helpful. Security system reassuring. Convenience of free trams to city centre excellent. Sports venues & tourist attractions close by.

Review 106:- You have to pay for wifi (in 2015?) - No spa with the pool - The shower and bath are combined Just a little pricy for what you got.

Review 107:Location was pretty good It was decent accommodation, nothing fancy.

Review 108:Depends on what floor your room is on (ie the higher the better), there is a "unique bar" across the road that can either be challenging for a light sleeper or a bonus for you on weekends.

Review 109:Front desk were very helpful both at checkin & checkout. Great room on a highish floor. Apartment had everything that we needed making for a great stay. Very close to transport (trams, buses, train) and an outlet centre.

Review 110:Broken kettle which we reported on arrival but not fixed. Would like free Wifi for the price

Review 111:Super easy to get to. Just caught the shuttle to the station and walked 100m to the lobby. The hotel was in a free transit zone with trams just outside the door

Review 112:Pool was cold, unusable in fact - apartment was adequate for weekend but wouldn't stay again

Review 113:Was in a good location, apartment was comfortable but not big enough for 4 adults.

Review 114:need to have a way that you get get out of the car park without the remote. had to wake my wife up at 6.00am just to let me out on the day of checkout.

Review 115:the apartment was great staff were friendly and helpful. really enjoyed the stay.. Thankyou

Review 116:The early check out time at 10pm. I would make a suggestion that the check out time be 12pm like other places.

Review 117:Overall everything was excellent, particularly liked the balcony when you can have fresh air and the laundry and dryer in the unit. The self contained kitchen was also great. And the location is right outside a tram stop and in front of Southern Cross station.

Review 118:We were unfortunate to have music and the vibration belting out till 5am the first night we arrived. We stayed four nights and the rest were fine but we were not impressed with that. We are still not sure where the noise came from!

Review 119:We loved that we were in Bourke street. We could just hop on a free tram to the city or walk if we felt like it. Loved the trams ding and the general energy of the city. A lovely view from the apartment.

Review 120:Room not clean when we arrived, fairly dusty and looked unkept with broken window blinds. Couches in desperate need of change, bad stains and depleted condition.

Review 121:Good location, all transportation at your door step.

Review 122:Had microwave, but no cookware to use in microwave. Kitchen furniture damaged. No free Wi-Fi.

Review 123:Apartment was well located on Bourke Street. The pool and gym facilities were excellent.

Review 124:The pillows were hard. Only real complaint.otherwise all was good.

Review 125:The apartment was open and spacious and we loved the large windows. Theapartment was very clean and we felt very comfortable.

Review 126:No blockout curtains, only terrible venetians that don't block outany light.. Impossible to sleep in on your holiday. Lack of organisationin booking procedure, had to go to different location to check in at11pm after an 8 hour drive (after specifying on the booking that wewould arrive at that time) and had no record of our booking. Werechecked in and moved to the proper building, organised parking, only toget to the room that was not ready and had past guests' rubbish andlaundry strewn around. Room had no contact information for outside ofhours assistance. Had to get security to assist. Then had to move backto other building on a different street again to be temporarily housedin a different apartment until issue could be resolved. Were told tocome to reception at 7am to resolve, only to wake up and find managerwas only one who could help and didn't arrive until 9:30am. Effortsto resolve the issue were appreciated however it should not havehappened in the first place. Should state in booking information thatcheck ins are not accepted after reception hours, as they are obviouslynot well-equipped to deal with these situations outside of hours. Had weknown that we would not have booked and would have gone with a reputablecompany with 24 hour reception.

Review 127:The rooms were nice and spacious and would have been great if they hadproper curtains or blinds, and if the past guests' laundry andrubbish were not still there.

Review 128:We arrived just before closing and due to the computer been down the receptionist occidentally gave us the key to a three bedroom apartment, when we had only booked a one. We took no notice as this has happened to us previously. Next morning the Manger called and explained the mistake. We moved with the help of the receptionist to a two bedroom apartment and were offered a free bottle of wine. All was handled very efficiently and in a friendly manner. Thank you

Review 129:First room not good at all.

Review 130:The staff were very helpful, as our first room was not up to par. Definitely, needed a good cleaning, repairing of blinds and fridge not working. However, on bringing the problems to the attention of staff, Rani & Che` we were upgraded to a lovely clean 3 b/room - 2 b/room apartment overlooking Bourke St, which certainly made the rest of our stay memorable.

Review 131:We had a great stay.

Review 132:This apartment has a lot going for it - it is a short walk from the Skybus depot at the Southern Cross Station, tram is at the front door, choice of supermarkets close by, staff very helpful and the apartment very clean.

Review 133:No changing rooms at the pool, and the water could have been warmer. Lack of drawers in the bedroom.

Review 134:Central location, trams at the door, quiet due to rooms being set back from the road.

Review 135:Lifts are functional but have clearly been in a state of damage for some time, eg glass smashed. Gym and pool are tiny.

Review 136:The lobby was well maintained, the room was decent. Location was excellent for links to tram or train.
