Reviews for Smiths Beach Resort

Review 1:Nothing at all, there is nothing we can fault about Smiths Beach Resort at all. Once of the nicest places we have ever stayed.

Review 2:The villa was stunning, spacious, spotless and private. The pool facilities were amazing and it was close to the beautiful Smiths Beach, Yallingup, world class wineries and Dunsborough town. Everybody we dealt with were helpful, friendly and just lovely. We really loved this place and would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Review 3:Smith's Beach was great, but no facilities on beach. Lots of flies and many visitors from outside the resort. Not cheap, and not particularly good value for money. No meals included and we were charged AUD $1200 per day for a 3 bed house opposite the beach.

Review 4:Property was modern and well appointed. Excellent location and really comfortable.

Review 5:This is a beautiful place to stay with friendly and helpful staff, housekeeping and service workers. Our room was clean with a spectacular partial view of the ocean. We had an amazing and relaxing of our three nights staying there and if you are looking for luxury, value, and especially if you are traveling with your family.

Review 6:Disappointed the restaurant was closed 2 nights. Would have liked a safe in the room. Would have liked a room with a view of the sea. No real grumbles. Would love to stay again.

Review 7:The location & the pool

Review 8:the internet was the big issue need to be covered by the cost , not much facility in the kitchen no chopping board not dust & pen , pot etc. bath room need extra small towels & floor mat only one not enough when you coming with the children need extra or replacement or change it the next day if possible would be nice .

Review 9:I did like about the location & cleanses with the privacy for each unit & the BBQ was working greatly nice big towels

Review 10:Pots and pans were dreadful! Not NON STICK!

Review 11:The villa was spacious and amenities ok! Could have had a few more add on's IE...salt and pepper shakers FULL, tea and coffee selection and or a mini bar with bits and pieces!. There wasn't a face washer...extra soap or toothbrush...etc! Not enough suppliews for two nites! Check out was far...tooooooo early for the money we paid! Totally unacceptable! However, would come again. I didn't know we could bring a pet! We have a little old pug who is totally house trained and we would have spent more money if he could have come with us!. Next time won't bring the adult children...would book a one bedroom executive villa and stay three nites with a LATE CHECK OUT LAST DAY! Please send a quote and available dates. Lamond's was nice.......expensive for the fitout! Leave the children for an earlier sitting and glam up the place for the lovers! HA . Hope this helps! x

Review 12:Beach Shacks are poor, floor was not level. Felt like the blood was rushing to my head whilst in bed due to the bad construction of the Shack. Bathroom had mold, dining table sticky due to a long neglect of cleaning properly. Lacked warmth in decorating and toiletries were absent accept for 1 Shampoo and 1 Conditioner. Everything stuck to the table even my handbag!

Review 13:The location is great, Restaurant food was good.

Review 14:Wifi slow but not a major issue. No Coffee plunger in room! Basic condiments would have been useful Very nice but rather bland decor for a 'beach shack'.

Review 15:Rooms were comfortable, beach was amazing and deli and ability to get restaurant food in own room a bonus with 2 small kids.

Review 16:We have a 5 month old, so self catering was a must. For the cost of the room, equipment was very poor and didn't provide basics like salt, pepper and oil. Internet was patchy and limited usage, which again, given the cost was disappointing. Main concern was we couldn't reach any staff during the night when we had an issue with (what we thought) was someone outside trying to get in. The caretaker didn't respond and the staff the next day dismissed our concerns. A real shame and a bit underwhelming...

Review 17:Location, layout of rooms and views were all terrific. We had one of the bigger rooms which was a great size for what we needed.

Review 18:The chalets are genuinely filthy. The blinds, for instance, were in a shocking condition with big stains everywhere. The chalets are very small, and located very close together. For instance, we could hear the toddler in the chalet next door stomping around from 6am in the morning on the wooden floor. Overall, a terrible experience for $350/night. For this kind of price, you expect clean and spacious accommodation with fitting and blinds in working order.

Review 19:Location is great, staff are helpful/friendly.

Review 20:Mould in the shower recess and some of the furniture / fittings were a little worn out.

Review 21:The peacefulness of the resort and Smiths Beach even over Easter.

Review 22:a non stick pan would have been handy

Review 23:Modern design, great value for a big family trip in the south west. Conveniently located to explore caves road's gems. front desk girl was friendly and helpful too.

Review 24:Kitchen had an ant problem, which despite spraying, still required dishes to be be immediately cleaned, and the wifi was awful - had to use mobile coverage for data the entire time.

Review 25:Great location, nicely designed and equipped apartment.

Review 26:Only tiny remark we would have is the wifi which was so slow you could hardly use it.

Review 27:We had a fantastic time over the weekend. Staff was simply wonderful - our apartment very luxurious and nothing was missing.

Review 28:Wifi reception is very patchy

Review 29:Modern apartments with great facilities. Staff were excellent - great service and really helpful. We dined in Lamonts which was great food but a little expensive. Overall we had a fantastic stay and would love to return.

Review 30:there were no face cloths in the bathrooms and none available. There were spiders and webs in the lounge/kitchen dining area, in all the light receptacles and in the high windows. This needs to be removed on a regular basis

Review 31:we stayed in the 3 bedroom ocean view villa. The view was fabulous, everything was well appointed and comfortable.

Review 32:I would probably use this resort more if the pool was heated. We have to use Bunker Bay during easter & October hoildays as the kids want to use the pool.

Review 33:Staff, deli & coffee, situated on the best beach in the world!

Review 34:It was very private, and great for a weekend away. The staff were lovely and the location is prime. Very lovely shack, and come with all appropriate utensils.

Review 35:On our arrival our fridge was not working at the beach house but thanks to our good englishman from the north country = 4 hours later we had 2 fridges to keep us going until they replaced the kitchen fridge next day

Review 36:Location and staff were fantastic and the opportunity to have kate lamont serve our group of 28 was quite a treat.

Review 37:Beds a little firm and not being advised of a wedding booking when we made a dinner booking at Lamonts. being sat in a bar area with overcooked Marron and Duck was disappointing.

Review 38:Location, location, location. Well furnished with all the comforts you would expect from a leading resort. Courteous and helpful staff from reception through to maintenance personnel.

Review 39:Internet access poor but to be fair they didn't charge for it.

Review 40:amazing beach, smart functional accommodation very clean and well maintained lovely restaurant fantastic pool

Review 41:The floor was filthy when we arrived. After not even being there 2mins my baby's hands and legs were black from crawling in the shack

Review 42:Bed was comfy. Kids loved the bunkbeds and slept 6 people comfortably. Girls at reception were nice and friendly

Review 43:Going home and seeing Smiths Beach in my rear view mirror :(

Review 44:Staff super friendly and accomodating from check in to check out! Room was excellent. Cannot say a bad thing about the resort.

Review 45:We stayed in a 2 bedroom BeachHouse. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking and the equipment is in very good condition. There's great storage space in the bedroom and lounge room. The bedrooms were nice and cozy. The shower is big enough to fit at least 2 people and has a good powerful showerhead. Overall a very nice friendly vibe. The deli makes a very delicious Fish & Chips!

Review 46:Service in the restaurant was slow. The Smart Card to get into the gates and also our unit failed miserably on many occasions, so when I think of Smiths Beach Resort what I think of is being mostly locked out of the complex and our unit - this was horrendous especially at 1am in the morning after a special function.

Review 47:Lamont's Restaurant, Kate Lamont's food is absolutely delightful, by far the best food we had in the area.

Review 48:We were a group of friends with a small child (1year old) and unfortunately the baby pool was closed off which wasn't ideal and we didn't know this in advance

Review 49:Beautifully located overlooking Smiths Beach, the accommodation is better than most people have at home. It is sophisticated and the onsite gourmet deli, Lamont's Restaurant and proximity to the best of the south-west region of Western Australia, make this an ideal escape.

Review 50:We stayed in the beach shacks and were very happy with the size and facilities for this family of four. Access to the beach was so quick and easy. Lamont's cafe on site was a bonus, latte to start the day and wine tasting to finish!

Review 51:Small deli on site was good for emergency items. Closest supermarket 11km away.

Review 52:Double storey villa with pool and ocean views was spacious, well zoned and well equipped. Perfect for 2 couples. Second bedroom on ground floor for privacy. Balcony had table which seated six and BBQ. Short walk to wonderful beach or could laze by pool.

Review 53:Expensive, lack of affordable casual dining option, restricted reception hours (closed checkout delayed our departure)

Review 54:Comfort and proximity to wedding venue that we attended

Review 55:Could have been some salt & pepper maybe a little oil to cook with or some small pats of butter better quality coffee & tea

Review 56:The view. The open plan living

Review 57:Access to shops for amenities is poor so bring what you may need eg food items , toiletries although a range of items is sold within resort

Review 58:Units were absolutely top notch. Pillows were so comfortable .

Review 59:Grassed areas covered in bindis. Pool not heated as advertised. Beachshack courtyards would benefit from some outlook to surrounding gardens or bushland. Expensive.

Review 60:Location and beach.

Review 61:Close to the beach as well as being quiet! There's an awesome deli for breakfast and gourmet foods plus excellent restaraunt can't wait to go back!

Review 62:The menu was too limited 4 mains not enough choice $10 extra for chips!! Went elsewhere When paying $350 plus a nite, breaky smorgasbord should be included Always the case at other places when paying this price in our experience

Review 63:Location was great Apartment was great

Review 64:Thought the restaurant could've had a pasta dish. The special eachnight was the same, although to be fair, entrees could be a main

Review 65:Quiet, peaceful resort, which suited us (in our 60's) let usrecharge the batteries Handy restaurant didn't have to have askipper

Review 66:At the time of booking online it was claimed that only a couple of villas remained available for the dates I wished to book, however, the resort appeared almost empty the days we actually stayed.....

Review 67:The restaurant has a few little teething issues such as bringing out incorrect meals and taking a while to bring out meals. It was still a lovely cooked meal though.

Review 68:Lovely hotel!! Thanks so much for making it so enjoyable.

Review 69:beach shack does not equal beach view or even sounds accommodation over priced for what it is average/decent restaurant but with 5 star prices

Review 70:walking distance to the beach close in proximity to wineries and attractions

Review 71:No security flyscreens on the doors. No exit gate vibrates loudly and needs to be realigned or new bearings.

Review 72:Comfortable bed, great balcony and well equipped kitchen.

Review 73:No shelving around bath to put things down Decoration was too stark for our taste Service in Lamonts was disappointing as was the food. Bathroom did not have enough privacy

Review 74:The peace and quiet was enjoyable Staff realised that the mistake with our dinner reservation was poor and tried to make amends with a bottle of wine

Review 75:The shacks were referred to as Beach Shacks, but although the sea wasn't far away you couldn't actually see it and you certainly were not on the beach.

Review 76:Poor cleanliness of the kitchen area and the apartment was not so well presented as on previous visits.

Review 77:Comfortable apartment. Relaxed casual vibe. Being close to the beach.

Review 78:Very small given the price. TV reception was poor. Kitchen utensils sparse and some were broken. Fittings in bathroom were loose. Bunk beds were loose and squeaky The deli didnt even have basic items such as bacon, sauce etc. Had all gourmet items not that suitable for children.

Review 79:The location was excellent.

Review 80:Just being in comfortable clean surroundings looking over a beautiful beach. Facilities were wonderful as were the staff. So close to so many other interesting places to visit in the south west region. That is why we love to visit every year.

Review 81:Smiths beach accommodation is luxurious, roomy with a well equipped kitchen. Great balcony and bbq area. Good secure parking. Lovely resort and Breakfast at Lamonts was great.

Review 82:The WiFi was terrible, and the Tv had nothing on it to watch. in house movies and more Foxtel channels would be good.

Review 83:The cabins were nice and quiet and Lamonts breakfast & Dinner were faultless. Beautiful food.

Review 84:Bed was hard. As in, wake up in the morning with a dead leg/hip hard. Even the hire portacot was hard. like having my baby sleeping on a wooden park bench hard. Other then that nothing else. :)

Review 85:This place was great. Close to beach. Tidy little shack. Lovely staff at the resort and lamonts (on site restaurant) also unbelievably delicious food! Also perfect travel distance away from dunsborough (10 mins) and Margaret river (40 mins) beautiful winery and brewery' s not too far travel.

Review 86:We were a group of 3. The "shack" has beds for six. Even if you have the kids in tow this would be a squash. I reckon its for a max of 4

Review 87:Location full kitchen fir a lazy night in. ability to buy supplies on site. Nice cafe good linen

Review 88:They just happened to have to turn the electricity off in that area the one day we wanted to chill in and watch dvd's :/

Review 89:Everything from the location, view from our balcony, bath, bed, fire place and the most amazing food at Lamonts!!!

Review 90:Dirty rug, some cleaning detail missed

Review 91:Comfortable accomodation, great food and store

Review 92:Magic location. Stunning beach

Review 93:the staff in the reception could have a higher servicelevel

Review 94:perfect location, the restaurant staff

Review 95:Great stay will come again

Review 98:Nothing.

Review 99:Lovely and secluded :) very friendly staff. Highly recommend.

Review 100:Nothing!

Review 101:The seclusion. Being close to the beach. The staff being helpful. I wanted a quiet getaway from work and this was fantastic. Thank you.

Review 102:generally quite dusty and LOTS of cob webs in the apartment

Review 103:location was perfect

Review 104:Amazing location and very friendly staff who had great knowledge about the area.

Review 105:Couldn't find the remote for the DVD player.

Review 106:Great location and facilities. Very comfortable bed.

Review 107:Well designed accommodation for family

Review 108:Very expensive for the very basic cottages. Resort is near the sea but you cant see the sea eirher from the cottages nor the restaurant

Review 109:The location and that there was a restaurant at the resort that sold great food and gourmet deli.C

Review 110:Toilet is like a jail cubicle.

Review 111:Location, all amenities are there.

Review 112:Restaurant was closed some nights

Review 113:A minor problem with ants in the kitchen of unit 19.

Review 114:Friendliness of staff. Convenience of booking process.

Review 115:Great room, 1 minute from the beach. Can hear the waves from the accommodation and staff were very friendly.
