Reviews for Eden

Review 1:I don't rate places full score unless they are outstanding 5 star but this was basic, clean and perfect location , walking to everything.

Review 2:We made the decision to drive to Portofino knowing it was going to be difficult re entry and parking. Fortunately police let us through as we said we were staying at the Eden. When we arrived the staff were extremely helpful with parking and told us there was no problem. Parking was around the corner. Great advice for dinner and sightseeing, amazing location!

Review 3:The location of eden hotel was incredible and would be hard to find somewhere more beautiful. The manager was very friendly and the hotel itself was very nice

Review 4:A bit noisy in the morning - vacuuming, loud talking in hallways

Review 5:Fantastic location. Very nice rooms - much better than the pictures. A feeling of being in an old house was nice. Owner was friendly and helpful with suggestions for dinners and things to see. Beautiful garden.

Review 6:Parking was bad and the hotel is down a cobbled alleyway then up a flight of steps. A little hard on older travelers

Review 7:A great location, But Portofino is a lovely spot

Review 8:When arrived at the port by car parking was confusing but the friendly police lady was extremely helpful

Review 9:Super tranquil place extremely handy and well within our budget. Very aptly name "Eden". True enjoyed our stay only wish we could of stayed longer.

Review 10:Safety box was broken.

Review 11:Chief Operator gave us excellent advice for our excursion to Cinque Terre. He kindly gave us timetable for bus to Santa Margherita Ligure and for train to Monterosso. He also prepared early breakfast so that we spent whole day in Cinque Terre.

Review 12:Shower partition door is broken & un-repaired. Also the bathroom is smelly & looks like unauthorized construction. Parking is 50M away & no assistance on the logistic of luggages between car park to hotel which is an uphill & tens of steps for access.

Review 13:I didn't have hot water either of the days I stayed there. The manager was incredibly unfriendly and called us stupid in Italian many times b/c my friend asked if he had green tea and we sat at a breakfast table that didn't have plates. The one that did was in the back and we did not notice it. That was the extent of the trouble we caused and what we got in return was unacceptable.

Review 14:The place is adorable, the location is superb.

Review 15:The fact that car parking cost an extra €28 for a one night stay! The cost wasn't disclosed beforehand.

Review 16:The location was very central and easy to get to. The hotel owner was ver helpful with directions and advice.

Review 17:Honestly I have no complaints! We had a great time.

Review 18:You can't beat this location for the price. Feels more like a bed & breakfast than a hotel. Owner was quite friendly and upgraded our room (granted, it was off-season and not busy but still, very nice of him!) The room was large and pretty with actual furniture - not cheap hotel stuff. Literally a 30 second walk to the marina. Located on a little pedestrian alley with parking close by.

Review 19:Wonderful stay at Hotel Eden. It was close to everything in Portofino. The owner was so nice, giving us recommendations on where to eat as well as getting transportation to San Fruttuoso. We will definitely be back!

Review 20:Have to bring your own luggage from the road to the hotel which is a bit of a walk. Have to pay for parking as long as you stay. The owner was helpful but had to be pushed into it.

Review 21:Location was good

Review 22:-

Review 23:THE OWNERS.

Review 24:The mattress was strange, falling to one side and the bathroom is quite old

Review 25:Hotel location is perfect and the atmosphere is very nice.

Review 26:Very nice welcome and very helpful with navigating the coastal region. Location central and beautiful setting.

Review 27:The owner is friendly, helpful and makes the best cappuccinos in all of Northern Italy.

Review 40:Situation, gardens, manager/owner.

Review 41:Location perfect, in middle of nice part of Portofino, on quiet side street

Review 42:Paying 21 euros/day for parking in the only car park in Portofino

Review 43:Location close to harbour Good breakfast Friendly owners

Review 44:Hospitality was poor.

Review 45:Location was very good.

Review 46:Caring staff, beautiful garden. Overall, great value (for Portofino) Fantastic location and a great experience in magical Portofino.

Review 47:room was extremely small

Review 48:location is perfect and hotel has a nice garden

Review 49:Room was dirty, draws full of hair and debris.. Floors dirty also. Owners not very polite..

Review 50:Location and garden

Review 51:Bed not great. No AC Host could be more helpful with local attractions and restaurants but he is kind.

Review 52:Location

Review 53:There are no employees to serve guests except for the owner himself. You have to carry your luggage to your room. Some of the rooms at the roof are with low ceiling.

Review 54:The location. The breakfast terrace.

Review 55:This is not a hotel it's a b&b at best with the mostunfriendliest owner. Far from welcoming and accommodating. Value for thestay is highly overrated.

Review 56:Bathroom was tiny however it was functional

Review 57:This hotel is all about lactation. It's in the heart of Portafino..Rooms are clean and facilities are good ...nice breakfast and the staff friendly...

Review 58:The rooms were small, with a bit of damp smell. Beds notcomfortable. The breakfast was a bit poor. Price of the hotel isvery high, but I guess this is what you should be ready to pay ifyou want to stay in Portofino. Despite the negatives, our overallexperience at Eden is positive.

Review 59:The hotel is right at the heart of Portofino, very close to the sea andthe public parking area. You could find good quality material in theroom for personal use. The hotel has a beautiful garden where you canenjoy one of those magnificent Italian coffees. Free internet isoffered and it is at very good speed. The owner of the place was verykind and helpful to give us advice on where to visit / where tostay during our trip.

Review 60:Décor in need of renovation, to create an impression of light and a more modern feel.

Review 61:Good sized room, with spacious balcony. Good location, near to harbour and bus stop for transport to Santa Margherita. Prices for drinks reasonable.

Review 62:Breakfast I found to be a bit basic but great coffee.Portinfino is limited, only good for a short stay, be prepared to visit other local towns.

Review 63:location could not be better within seconds to the beautiful port of Portifino. The owner is heplful, charming and pleased to see you. The real italian experience at a realistic price considering the location.Traditional and very clean.

Review 64:Our room was quite small and not well cleaned. Hair in the bathroom and on the sheets. The hotel in general was dirty, needs a good spring cleaning.

Review 65:The hotel is well located right in the center of town just a few steps from the sea.

Review 66:Wifi was poor Expensive to get there by Taxi.

Review 67:Nice B&B type accommodation Located near many restaurants of quality albeit very expensive. Also an amazing train trip from Pisa along the coast to Portofino which was beautiful.

Review 68:Price. Was a bit much but you pay for the location.

Review 69:Great location in the center of town, away from the main square (so not so load in the morning). Portofino is a sleepy little village by the sea that is beautiful and a 'must-see' for anyone within a day trip. The hotel was nice and comfy, staff very knowledgeable of the area and nice too (they allowed us to leave our bags after check-out while we wondered the town).

Review 70:The Manager was not friendly at all. In fact, he was very grumpy and kept mumbling negative comments about Americans. The access is difficult if you have much luggage.

Review 71:The location was very convenient to the waterfront area. Excellent value for the money.

Review 72:The hotel could do with an elevator for more elderly guests but that is about the only criticism I have.

Review 73:Nicely presented hotel and garden. Friendly, helpful staff. Fantastic location.

Review 74:No parking.

Review 75:The location was great and the place was charming. The Inn Keeper was friendly and the breakfast was good. The room and bathroom was satisfactory and we enjoyed our stay.

Review 76:The owner was extremely gracious and helpful. Good breakfast; great cappuccino. Well situated in Portofino. However, all of Portofino is very, very expensive; next time, if there is one, I'll stay in Rappollo and take the bus (1.50 EU and 25 minutes) into Portofino.

Review 77:Excellent location, close to everything. The staff was very helpful and accomodating, helping us with planning our excursions and giving us great tips on everything from parking to restaurants. Would use it again.

Review 78:Room number 10 doesn't take enough natural light and breakfast not good enough also too. At first I thought it was a overpriced hotel but it seems that all portofino is overpriced and its not worthing at all.

Review 79:The garden is very good especially to have a breakfast here. Rooms are clean. Place is very good too ( center of portofino )

Review 80:Rooms were uncomfortably tiny and dark. The bathroom was even smaller. Hotel is old and the decor tired. No on-site parking so if you arrive by car, you need to drag your luggage from the public car park a few hundred metres up the street. Not great value for money, considering the amount we paid, the tiny rooms and the lack of amenities at the hotel.

Review 81:Excellent location in the heart of the port, shopping and restaurants. Cosy garden courtyard.

Review 82:Overpriced. This whole area is an upscale, overpriced resort area. Lovely but expensive.

Review 83:Parking is far enough and also not very cheap. Even you need to bear sutcases for 100 meters, don't leave it in a car.it can be stolen.

Review 84:Nothing...

Review 85:Great location, very helpful staff, good value for money (for Portofino)...

Review 86:Price was relatively high, but it was a very central location

Review 87:The location ++

Review 88:Small room and no elevator. Still, great value ! Will return !

Review 89:Great location, nice staff, very clean.

Review 90:Our room had one tiny narrow window which meant there was no natural daylight.

Review 91:Fabulous location, right in the centre of Portofino.

Review 92:Nothing.
