Reviews for Villa Neri Resort & Spa
Review 1:A lovely location isolated out in the countryside. Very good food in the restaurant and a very helpful sommelier. Nice spa with treatments, although not included in the price.
Review 2:Nothing really specific. We visitted the area in a relative quiet period, so bit as expected many places in the nearby village where closed. But with help from the hotel we were able to find some nice places to eat, drink and visit.
Review 3:The hotel has an excellent restaurant. Bit on the expensive side, but worth the money. Especially the set 5 course menu was very good and offered outstanding value for money.
Review 4:Location and facilities.
Review 5:The resort is marvelous but service at the wonderful restaurant is s bit too slow and the wi-fi horrible anywhere throughout the resort. Otherwise, excellent.
Review 6:The spa facilities are an additional cost. We had really bad weather and were stuck in the hotel for the day, to sit in the sauna costs €20 per person
Review 7:The staff couldn't do more to help and the quality of the hotel and location is incredible. You are in a great location for views but this is not the hotel if you want to wander to the beach every day.
Review 8:WiFi was simply hopeless. I was on Apple and my wife on Android. Neither worked well most of the time in any area and not at all by the pool
Review 9:Beautiful setting, fantastic comfort and location - the exceptional food.
Review 10:Villa Neri is a very comfortable hotel, set in a stunning location. It's also very convenient if you like to explore the surrounding - my husband and I went to mount Etna and loved it. The spa is also very good and clean. The staff is very helpful - they gave us very good advice on what to see and where to go. We had an amazing time there and we will definitely return.
Review 11:Wifi was not working for most the time we were there. Some staff dos not speak English whixh at times was frustrating, though all worked out in the end.
Review 12:Very well designed. New. Clean. Pool very clean and ground well maintained. Big bathrooms. Big room.
Review 13:The staff were efficient and helpful. The outdoors was beautifully kept. will recommend Villa Neri to friends and family. The lunches by the pool were delicious. An ideal place if you want to relax. The bedrooms were spacious and clean.
Review 14:Service was always with a smile but soemetimes it was hard to find someone if they were busy. Quite noisy in the morning especially the cleaners cupboard door!!. Could have had more info on the area such as maps and things to do.
Review 15:The staff were great - Paolo, Mario and Maria were great fun and always happy to help. Maybe at times they could have had more support from elsewhere as there was sometimes a delay, which was not of their making. Lovely pool with loads of sunbeds and beautiful grounds. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Good breakfast even with champagne or prosecco!
Review 16:The waitress at breakfast could have been more friendly.
Review 17:View of Etna from the room, comfortable and spacious room, very good breakfast with a lot of choice. The waiter at the pool bar was so extremely nice and friendly that it was really a pleasure lying by the pool!
Review 18:Nothing. Everything is perfect!!!
Review 19:Our room, the executive suite, was chosen for its decoration. The truth is that we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Its vaulted ceiling and a magnificent terrace with stunning views over the snowy north side of Etna -in May-. From the magnificent bed flares and smoke, both night and day are contemplated. On the other hand, the bathroom is simply outstanding, with a unique design Villa Neri is a small new resort with exquisite decoration isolated in a stunning natural setting. Their staff is very friendly and we felt very well treated. We remember with special affection for the Maitres Paolo and Mario. The restaurant, very well. The owner, Mr Neri, was himself very attentive. Agata & Martin
Review 20:The breakfast choice wasn't quite to the standard of this hotel; rather limited choice and eggs that just didn't look very tasty. The hotel is hard to find and our (outdated?) GPS didn't even know the address.
Review 21:If you want serenity and nature this is a top location. The views from the hotel are astonishing, the garden is beautiful. The (small) wellness center is great and people running it clearly know what a sauna experience is like. The gastronomic menu in the restaurant is outstanding and without doubt the best food we had in Sicily. The rooms are modern with yet an original arty touch. Just great value for money in all!
Review 22:Practically nothing, apart from the fact that it was quite difficult to find this resort. Doesn't show on gps
Review 23:Location and all its surrounding. Large outside swimming pool. Very nice suite
Review 24:Although there was a good wine list, it was not all available. They had a great cocktail list but unable to make them when asked.
Review 25:Quiet location although initially difficult to locate. Modern facilities which were clean & to an extremely high standard. Outside pool area was relaxing with stunning views of Mt Etna.
Review 26:This is a boutique hotel and it feels quiet empty. It looked great, but the bathroom wasn't practical at all. The staff of the wellness didn't speak French nor English. The breakfast wasn't special.
Review 27:We had a really nice big suite with a balcony overlooking the Etna. Everything looked very trendy and was very clean. Nice beds.
Review 28:Not all rooms come with terrace/ balcony as described by hotel - only one of the 4 junior suites does, no warning about events booked at hotel which included late night music.
Review 29:Pool, views of surrounding countryside, 'disco'shower, breakfast, relaxing
Review 30:we were very disappointed by the events which took place at Villa Neri and unfortunately no sufficient compensation or solution has been given to us by the management. We are sure that you are aware that on the 9th August the resort hosted a kids's pool party from around 11.30 am to 6.30/ 7pm. At one point we were surrounded with around 30 screaming boys and girls and another 20 parents, who were obviously all in the same swimming pool.We did complain to the receptionist at around 12.30 and we were accompanied to the Agriturismo Arrigo to swim in their pool. To our disappointment this pool is not of the same level and size of Villa Neri, and at the end of the day we paid for a 5 star Lux Resport and SPA guaranteeing us relaxation moments. A 4 year old birthday party was definitely not relaxing for us, and as oppposted to what the receptionist told us, this did not just take a couple of hours but the whole afternoon. People only started leaving at 6.30pm.May I also point out the following:1. The parents and kids which were invited to the pool party were not residents at Villa Neri, how were these people let in, in the first place?2. You could only hold a kids' party if you had two pools (one for the residents and one for private functions). There is not even a kids pool so everyone was just swimming in the same pool !3. We were not informed in advance about this party taking place during our stay - this is lack of professionalism from Villa Neri's management4. No solution or compensation was given to us.5. No high management staff showed up to deal with our complaint6. Note that in the afternoon at around 4.30 when we tried to sleep, with all our windows closed we could still hear the screaming kids and their parents !!In view of the above, I am sorry to say that Villa Neri is definitely not a 5 star luxury resort.
Review 31:Grounds Pool area Rooms
Review 32:Restaurant and room service very expensive. 16 euros for a burger, .....! Considering the hotel is a 10 minute drive to the nearest small town this can make it a bit expensive.
Review 33:Friendly staff, everything very clean. Wonderful swimming pool.
Review 34:Very slow service at dinner. It could go 20 as well as 30 minutes between each dish being served. When you know it takes only 20 minutes after you have eaten not to feel any more hunger, you did not enjoy all the dishes as your stomach was feeling full. Therefore the slow service /due to too few waiters, destroyed the meal which otherwise would have been excellent. The wifi was out of order during our stay. We were offered to use the receptionist's pc, but that's not the same.
Review 35:Excellent breakfast. Lovely gourmet dinner. Spacious room.
Review 36:Lack of attention to detail (esp. in low season?): no fresh juices at breakfast, unappetising scrambled eggs, lack of towels near the pool, pool bar not staffed / no one to ask for a drink, impressive showers, but drainage problems
Review 37:Elegant and impressive public areas, Nice swimming pool, quiet location in olive groves, dinner very good (do take the tasting menu)
Review 38:spa would benefit having a gym
Review 39:lovely room, fantastic restaurant, great views and spa.
Review 40:-
Review 41:Great location, nice design, spotless room.
Review 42:Restaurant not good value
Review 43:Wifi could be more stable
Review 44:Awesome !!! Really.
Review 45:Great views of Etna. Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely hotel.
Review 46:Fantastic setting, super relaxing place with very friendly staff
Review 47:Services was very good. Location excellent. Had a wonderful dinner, standard and presentation of food was great.
Review 48:The views and the quietness (and the breakfast!)
Review 49:Very hard to find the hotel
Review 50:Although the service level was good, it was not at a 5star* level. If service was asked for it was offered, but nothing spontaneous or truly welcoming - this was disappointing and if it had been improved would increase the rating significantly.
Review 51:The chef is excellent, every meal that we ate was well prepared, imaginative and a pleasure. The location is excellent, but so too are the grounds of the hotel, which are scrupulously kept.
Review 52:A fairly isolated location. The nearest town is reached via very narrow and twisting roads. Driving back to the hotel at night was not a relaxing experience.
Review 53:High quality hotel with an excellent chef. Convenient for exploring the north and south sides of Etna. Room was appointed to a high standard with coloured lights in an enormous 2 person shower and the largest wash basin we have ever seen! The restaurant served suburb food and is well worth a visit.
Review 54:The dinner at night and service at the restaurant does not compare with the rest of the hotel and the price. Our meal was nothing special and the staff was not really friendly and attentive.
Review 55:Almost everything. Great service, excellent breakfast, surrouding and facilities.
Review 56:the pool was closed for a wedding. we were not told about at time of booking. after long discussions and some delays we were offered free entry to the spa in compensation. after a long journey a bit stressful
Review 57:rooms, gardens , views, meal
Review 58:My my, what a hard review to write. I can tell you now, that thesephotos or anything I write here, will not do this hotel justice. If youare looking at this hotel now however, give yourself a highfive, causeyou have just found a gem. I have pretty much been raised in five starhotels and have seen them all. It is upsetting when you book a hotel andit is nothing like you expected. With Villa Neri, it was better! In ourage with all the media tools we have available nothing is really leftopen and hotels often shoot photos in angles that make them seem so muchbetter, it's horrible. I can tell you that the rooms in Villa Neriare gorgeous (well, the one I had which was the Junior Suite) and thepool is incredible. One thing I really have to recommend, is get thefreakin Junior Suite, it's not the room itsself, the view or any ofthat, it's the shower! The shower is pretty much a room, with tworain showers at opposite ends and a waterfall shower in the middle andof course you have light therapy in there, so that the lights softelychange colours. Best shower I've ever had. The breakfast was perfectand the dinner was stunning. Like I said, you'll just have to seefor yourself. You will have an amazing time, unless ofcourse you have notaste whatsoever or any idea of enjoyment.
Review 59:- staff was very friendly and helpful - very quiet and secluded location - very good value for money - spa packages and staff excellent - food at the restaurant excellent
Review 60:It would prove helpful if the staff was more fluent in English. Some misunderstandings regarding a spa treatment reservation and while ordering from the a la carte menu at the restaurant. Nothing major though and was sorted out.
Review 61:Clean, calm and quiet. Warm and friendly staff. Beautiful view. Facilities well designed and decorated. SPA area really nice.
Review 62:If you plan to go to the summit of Etna it's on the other side of the mountain - but the drive there is very scenic. Linduaglossa itself isn't much but the hotel is a ways out of town.
Review 63:Beautiful building and grounds, panoramic views of sea and Etna, wonderful pool. Spacious and well-designed room. Good restaurant with reasonable pricing
Review 64:As beautiful looking as this place undoubtedly is we found it to be soulless, the bar area has no atmosphere - there is no music - even quiet background music would lift the mood. Our first room was a superior double, very nice room but noisy (over the kitchen - door slamming all night, loud voices). The wellness center was closed when we looked (girl off sick - they did offer to open the pool though).
Review 65:Beautiful rooms, newly decorated, stunning grounds and pool area. People have commented previously that it was difficult to find, we had sat nav in the car but it was well sign posted so no longer a problem. Nice breakfast area with a nice assortment to suit all tastes. Nice outdoor seating to hide away. It wasn't warm enough to make full use of the pool area but it looks amazing. Parking and wifi.
Review 66:Food standards shocking, rotting fruit left out from day to day, covered in flies. Coffee like dishwater. 1st room shower scalded my wife, 2nd (allegedly upgraded to compensate) was not so nice. In room tea/sugar never replaced. Definitely not 5* service or management, never even offered discount in spite of admitting standards were not as they should be.
Review 67:Great modern hotel in fantastic location
Review 68:Breakfast staff spoke no English and was not overfriendly.. Breakfast could be improved (mouldy strawberries!) Rather thin walls to adjacent rooms. Terribly badly designed showers. Restaurant on the pricey side.
Review 69:Do not compare a 5* hotel in Sicily with a 5* hotel anywhere else in the world...Saying that, we had a lovely time despite some flaws, exploring the Etna region and playing golf on the oldest golf course in Sicily nearby (green fee reduction when you stay in the hotel). Make sure to visit Castiglione di Sicilia about 1/2 hr. away. Hotel is in a very quiet area in well kept grounds, perfect for a short break. Good Wi-Fi connection in rooms, but somehow slow speed (as everywhere in Sicily). Would recommend the hotel to older travellers rather than the younger crowd.
Review 70:Fantastic meal ;)
Review 71:nothing
Review 72:Staff Location Rooms
Review 73:Exceptional luxury and hospitality
Review 74:The Bar and the restaurant. Poor service and quality
Review 75:The Spa, the beds, the pool and views
Review 76:Service to be improved. Very much a family run business more than a 5 L Hard to get there, no signs on the road.
Review 77:Quality of the room, food
Review 78:Villa Neri is right at the foots of Etna. Stunningly beautiful. Gorgeous room and pool, absolutely fantastic!
Review 79:A bit far from nearest city
Review 80:Excelent setting Beautifull design friendly stuff Beautifull garden
The Fine Print
