Reviews for Eight Hotel Portofino

Review 1:Too small rooms. Misleading photos of facility and rooms. Too expensive for the comfort and the facility

Review 2:the proximity to the center, the friendly & efficient staff

Review 3:We were missing a view!

Review 4:Very good attention of the staff always ready to help and make you life easy! very comfortable room with a lot of important details

Review 5:Although breakfast was included it was a simple one and they charged extra for items such as omelette. Reception did not know about local events so we missed an amazing opera competition in the harbor. Extremely small rooms.

Review 6:Friendly staff.

Review 7:Portofino is expensive and so is this hotel. Providing you have that expectation you will not be disappointed.

Review 8:Great position to visit Portofino. Excellent staff.

Review 9:Maybe the breakfast buffet could have freshly squeezed juices instead of preserved, otherwise "top class all round"

Review 10:Superb service with a smile ALL THE TIME, reasonably priced

Review 11:Our A/c was broke - but repaired quickly Matter was handled professionally

Review 12:Loved the ambiance of the hotel , friendly service and sheer elegance of this hotel

Review 13:I went to Portofino, and the Eight Hotel, in the full expectation that it would be an expensive trip. I was aware that it is regarded as something of a playground for the rich and famous, but I also expected the 'luxury' that comes with the price and in line with how the area and the hotel are described. My four-star, luxury hotel room was so small (and oddly shaped) that at one point I could stretch my arms out and touch both sides of the room. I spent three days stubbing my toes and scrapping my shins on the bed and other furniture crammed into the space. We were advised on our arrival that we'd been honoured with a room with a balcony - a space barely big enough to contain two people standing, but with the glorious view of a garage below. The guy on reception recommended the rooftop garden terrace bar and hot tub. It sounded lovely until I got up there to find it was closed (only open in July and August). So... for the 8 euros it costs for a small beer, I could collect it at reception and take it up the eight floors to the roof. What a treat! It was a rip off from start to finish. If you want a beautiful Italian seaside venue without getting mugged I would recommend Positano or Bellagio - much better all round!!

Review 14:This hotel was an amazing end to our honeymoon. The staff were excellent and friendly. The room was clean and decorated to a high standard. Location was great, walking distance from everything.

Review 15:The elevator was rather slow, & the staff should have cautioned that reservations for restaurants are necessary in Portofino.

Review 16:I like small boutique hotels that offer personalized service. I liked their beds and shower facilities. I liked the proximity of the hotel to the port, while still offering quiet and tranquility.

Review 17:Yes, it's not cheap but then why would it be. We're talking Portofino.

Review 18:1:position 2: Staff 3: Comfortable 4: Rooms 5: the Other hotel with its beach & restaurant 6 we breakfasted well 7: Looked after well 8: Italian

Review 19:Inflexible cancellation, even in event of emergency, when alternative guests were found for the room I vacated.

Review 20:Unstated cool elegent hotel with friendly staff

Review 21:i thought it was a bit over priced. don't get me wrong its a great hotel just not worth 760 Euros per night

Review 22:location is great, the design is also nice

Review 23:The hotel is about 2 blocks from the waterfront. Still very close and a nice 3 minute walk, but do not expect to have a water view. There is construction nearby so views out the windows are not great, but the rooms are so well sound proofed it did not bother us at all. WiFi is somewhat slow, but I understand this is an issue throughout Portofino.

Review 24:Amazingly beautiful hotel and staff were absolutely perfect in every way. Great attention to detail and service. Beautiful and comfortable room and even offered a free upgrade when a nicer room was unbooked at the time we checked in. Highly recommended!!

Review 25:Fantastic

Review 26:it was a very nice hotel, comfortable, with a Jacuzzi in the garden adjacent only to the room, very romantic place

Review 27:Loved the location, the staff, the place, the food, the wine. Lovely individual hotel. Would recommend and stay there again...

Review 32:very friendly staff and super location a small, but stylish and comfortable hotel

Review 38:Felt like home

Review 39:8 Hotel team is so kind and welcoming !Perfect place to stay in Portofino !

Review 40:Did not stay long enough !

Review 41:Everything

Review 42:A chic hotel in an excellent position in Portofino. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Beautiful room if a little compact.

Review 43:Small rooms and too expensive.

Review 44:- The price is quite high, but not outrageous given the quality of the overall experience

Review 45:- Very friendly and welcoming staff and - Great location - We received an upgrade

Review 46:The Eight Hotel provided such excellent service, the staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble. This is the perfect boutique hotel, location could not be better. Made our special weekend unforgettable

Review 47:Very friendly, helpful staff. Everyone greeted us. Fantastic central location and an on demand shuttle to the nearby sister hotel that has a lovely beach and great restsurant.

Review 48:The hotel was amazing, the staff even better!! We were greeted with glasses of wine. The rooms were perfection night and day I can't wait To come back. Best experience I have ever had

Review 49:extremely expensive for 3rd person (triple room) 720euro for a same size of double room of 490euro

Review 50:very nice & cozy easy access - just walk down to centre

Review 51:The badly designed shower in the room, just flooded the whole area! Their sister hotel is in a lovely location but 50euros per day is outrageous! Hotel does not have a bar.

Review 52:The location, the friendly helpful staff. The room was large and comfortable.

Review 53:The free shuttle to the beach is great but €50 per person for the sun loungers is over the top.

Review 54:Eight Hotel is within easy walking distance (2 mins) of the centre of Portofino and is perfect for a long weekend or a couple of nights. It is a small, boutique hotel but the staff are excellent and the rooms are luxurious and well equipped. The garden is quite small but fine for a couple of hours in their hammocks or the hot tub. The restaurant at their sister hotel Paraggi is superb for both lunch and dinner.

Review 55:I would like to have eaten breakfast on the roof terrace - but it seemedtoo be 'out of service'. I feel more could have been made of the verynice roof terrace - it looks lovely on the web site but seemed to be notavailable when we stayed even though the weather was very warm.

Review 56:Very nice hotel and perfect location

Review 57:I told them when I left but definetly a place to recomend.

Review 58:The way they treat the clients is very familiar frendly specially the girl in the reception the woman on brekfast and one of the porters , very friendly and nice. They have another hotel vith a nice restaurant on the beach.

Review 59:The location, being at Portofino is wonderful even if it is not on the waterfront. I visited Portofino 37 years ago and wanted to return. The village is very expensive and the value for money was reasonable under the circumstances but the most impressive thing about the hotel was the remarkably pleasant and helpful staff who were exceptional.

Review 60:Had to go 1 day before and they charged for that day

Review 61:Staff and location

Review 62:Nothing!

Review 63:Good in every way

Review 64:Small rooms No views Unused garden facilities Too expensive for location

Review 65:The decoration
