Situated at the entrance to the Karwendel Alpine Park in Scharnitz, the Frankenhof has grounds with a sunbathing area and a playground. A beginners' ski lift is a 2-minute walk away.
The hotel offers comfortable accommodations with balconies and flat-screen satellite TVs, as well as free Wi-Fi in the entire property.
Hotel guests are offered a rich breakfast buffet, while guests of the apartments are provided with fresh bread rolls in the morning.
The Frankenhof is a good base for hiking and cycling trips (bike rental is offered on-site) to the Karwendel or Wetterstein Mountains. Directly behind the property there is a cross-country ski run, which is part of a network of routes that stretches across the entire Seefeld Plateau (170 miles in total).
The Rosshütte ski area in Seefeld is about a 10-minute drive away and a ski bus comes every 2 hours. 2 natural sled runs, floodlit sledding and snowshoe hiking are other available activities.
The Isar River offers great opportunities to go canoeing. Boats and trailers can be stored at the Frankenhof.

Review 1：Location, clean place, being able to borrow a bike for a little look around. Place is just over the border in Austria. I went for a quiet time break. It is ideal for hiking, skiing - you can get to lots of places within 30 minutes or less.

Review 6：Very friendly staff. They gave us the regional card which allowed us to take a cable car to the top of a mountain which had a fabulous view of the the Dolomites. The guest house is located in a very charming village which we also enjoyed. The evening meal was very good.

The room was a good size and the bathroom had toiletries and a hairdryer. The house itself was beautiful, very clean and amazing furniture. The sauna was a lovely added extra. The owner was very welcoming and pleasant. Great breakfast. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Scharnitz has relatively little to offer but is well placed as a base from which to visit more interesting towns in Germany and Austria and, being on the main road, the Frankenhof is well placed within the town. Review 65：Booked for a double room but was given a 1 bed little apartment, with a small living room, kitchen and a corner balcony with table and chairs facing mountain view. It's a big bonus. Clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was absolutely great. Fast check in and check out.

Nestled right in the alps with ridiculous views.Beds are extremely comfortable and linens are obviously very new andwell kept. Decor is warm and contemporary for normal guesthousestandards. Staff was thoughtful and attentive. Breakfast was typical butgenerous and prepared right on time. Very fresh and delicious. For themoney, it may have been one of the best values I have experienced inEurope...easily would stay here again if coming back to Scharnitz. Wi-fiworked great and parking was a breeze.

Review 70：Very pleasantly surprised at the standard of accommodation and the Glashome was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We were a party of 5adults, having booked an apartment and 2 double rooms which worked wellfor us. We were all able to eat in the apartment when we wanted to,although cooking facilities are basic. We were made very welcome and thebreakfasts (with plenty of choice) provided a good start to a days crosscountry skiing. Local tracks are good for beginners, with morechallenging routes nearby. An added bonus for us was the husky racingcompetition next to Frankenhof, but disappointed that the last dayneeded to be cancelled due to the weather being too mild. We had hired acar but felt that it wasn't really necessary as there is a ski buswhich travels around Scharnitz, Seefeld, Leutash area. Skis can be hiredin Scharnitz.

Review 71：An excellent place to stay. The room was large, clean and beautifully finished. The hostess was pleasant and helpful. The place felt like it should have been a lot more expensive. The view from the roof deck outside the room was a bonus.

Breakfast was really good and the rooms were really spacious, luxurious and clean. They also accommodated our request for interconnecting rooms and the price was very reasonable. Review 78：The inside of the pension was a pleasant surprise. It is an older building, but the inside is modern with big rooms and nice baths. Some in our party had an apartment with a fully stocked kitchen, a high living room, 2 baths and 3 bedrooms. It was beautiful. The owner could not do enough to make our stay as pleasant as possible It was about 10 minutes from Mittenwald and about 20 minutes from Garmish so the location was perfect. It was a nice quiet town.

Review 85：The hotel was extremely cleam and the room was spacious. The country settting is very relaxing and the location is close to Zugspitze. The village of Scharnitz is fall less commercial than Mittenwald, which was only a 15 minute ride away if you would like to do a little shopping. The breakfast was outstanding.
