Reviews for Gardaland Hotel Resort

Review 1:Staff are not helpful. Children facilities are absent. No tea making facilities or drinking water in rooms. Before serving drinks or food, staff persistently require prepayment by cash or credit card, which is very annoying and disturbing.

Review 2:good location very near to Gardaland Park

Review 3:- The hotel should cater shuttle services to the train station - There should be more food options (for vegetarians) - because there are no know other restaurants near by

Review 4:An excellent hotel, the size, the atmosphere, the staff

Review 5:The room was not in theme with the park attraction, normal standard commercial room, the children were expecting some attraction. But was just a bare room. Unfortunately the reception was distraceful, we ordered a quadruple room and were assigned a double room with sofer. The reply was this is it ! and how it has been since last 11 years. The sofer was with visible metel bars where the child can easily hurt himself. The dinner was of cheap quality Food, which cost us €88,00 further the breakfast was terrible, we paid for 2 adults and 1 child (3yrs) €30 for breakfast what made us go out and buy cappuccino and cornetto before entering the theme park Gardaland. One day cost us €391,00 (hotel and entrance theme park Gardaland) which is a pitty to throw out money nowadays in the trash bin.

Review 6:Disappointing costs for breakfast. very expensive and queues and room service not much choice for hot food or snacks and again very expensive. No coffee or tea making facilities in the two rooms we had.

Review 7:Beautiful hotel and location and great staff. Comfortable rooms and felt very safe for children. Fab cocktails and attentive bar staff!

Review 8:The room was very simple and the breakfast was 47 Euro for 2 adults and 2 children which is over priced (the food wasn't that good)

Review 9:The place looked great for Halloween

Review 10:Over priced. Not v close to Gardaland theme park. Pool was closed & they wouldn't open, even tho it was v warm. On-site Restaurants very pricey. "free" wi-fi wants all your Facebook contacts! Poor man's Disneyland.

Review 11:It was clean. Lots of free parking. Big bathroom. Shower over big bath.

Review 12:You have to wear swimming cap and you have to pay it if you would like to use the swimming pool in the garden. 5 eur/each! For one family about 20eur! Is's amazing. Pools and jacuzzi need a renovation. Not a too attractive hotel in spite of that it belongs to the amusement park. We didn't get exact informations from the amusement park opportunities. Far from the Gardaland...

Review 13:Nice lobby and bar and the fountain also.

Review 14:pool area veey poor and dirty, Paint in the pool came off, Staff there very unfriendly Breakfast way to overpriced for what you get

Review 15:The all overall apperance was very nice

Review 16:A children outdoor playground should be bigger.

Review 17:Clean and comfortable rooms, very friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Would definitely come again and recommend to others!

Review 18:Animation repetitve and starts late. Wifi connection is very poor. Drinks and snacks from vending machine are expensive.

Review 19:The location of the hotel being close to the park. Shuttle service from hotel to the park. Dinner buffet and breakfast good with a nice choice. Ideal for children as there is a small swings and rides.

Review 20:There are two train stations in Garda for those who are coming from Venice, first station is Garda Castelnouvo (never stop here) complete your way to the second station (Pesheira de Garda) unfortunately no one informed us this and it's not clearly mentioned in their booking profile or website.

Review 21:Everything is suitable either for kids or young couples. 2 nights are more than enough.

Review 22:The wifi did not work for our Apple products - it wasn't essential to us but frustrating to be given then not work

Review 23:Location was perfect and the hotel was really picturesque and well fit in with the Gardaland Park theme - definitely place to stay if visiting the park.

Review 24:Dinner is crazy expensive for what you get; go to any restaurant in the city and you'll get far better experience for the same or less money

Review 25:Animation for kids in the evening; on-site pool is good

Review 26:A few more beds at pool in the shade. Pizza and other hot food should be available from early afternoon.

Review 27:Rooms clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly.

Review 28:Nothing close by on foot not even bus stop. Wifi we had problems but reception tried to fix it.

Review 29:Nice hotel, food and staff. Shuttle service to gardaland was good.

Review 30:Odd smell accompanied us during our stay, we called house keeping 3 times till they got rid of it. The A/C was leaking inside our room and caused a mess. Room was for a family of 3 adults and 2 kids, we got 1 real bed and 2 sofa beds (not enough beds) all of which had to be replaced because they were uncomfortable or broken (or both).

Review 31:i needed an iron to iron the clothes ofchildren they insisted from me to deposit my passport as a guarantee i suggested to deposit cash money as a guarantee but they refused this is the firist time to face such matter over a50 years of travel

Review 32:the sweming pool

Review 33:When we first arrived the kids bed was not made up. We were told the bedding was in the wardrobe implying we had to make it ourself! We have never stayed in a hotel that expected us to make the bed, especially one of that price! Luckily the bedding wasn't there so housekeeping did come and sort it for us, but this wasn't a good first impression. Buffet very expensive and food just ok, nothing special. Waiters rarely smiled. We would go back, but that is down to the location more than anything else.

Review 34:Location was ideal with free hopper bus service to the park. Hotel was very clean, both in our room and communal areas. Nice layout. Looks like a Disney hotel.

Review 35:The hotel facilities are worn and faded - no investment in maintenance at all ( we've been coming back several times since opening, so we do remember the happy days). The Blue Lagoon pool which is nice, but you need to buy and wear swim cap ( 4 Eur/pc ). On 38 degree it is more torture than joy. In the description of the hotel there is no mention of the swim caps, while it is indeed a major issue !

Review 36:The idea.

Review 37:Breakfast is an extra cost. The rooms are not particularly cheap for what you get. The pool bar is expensive. You will benifit from a car as the lake is not particularly close if you wish to visit lake garda. Don't stay if you just want to visit the lake there are much better places

Review 38:The pool area is nice and the kids love to see the model character in reception. Also some of the kids club activities are included this was a plus. Parking is free you get a free safe and a fridge to use. Gardaland is italy version of Disney land

Review 39:The Internet is so bad They need to add more options to breakfast

So far the hotel is good for children and baby and the breakfast is also good compared to other hotel in Austria, Swiss etc but to compare it with dubai hotel its 0 honestly many options also the internet is very bad bad bad I suggestion to them they should fix it or just cut it becz it piss people off they come to enjoy and need to communicate with their family which they depand on hotel internet anyway the hotel is very good choice and near to Gardaland etc The hotel I

Review 41:We had a room for 4, with a king bed and an extensible sofa. The sofa was not comfortable and the room space was a bit too small when the sofa was extended.

Review 42:Location, facilities for kids, proximity to several amusement parks and also to lake Garda, cleanliness, the pool.

Review 43:1. No internet most of the time!!! When it works (usually during night time) - it is incredibly slow. I have business and have to check my emails at least once a day. So, I had to do this during night time and due to the incredibly low speed checking of emails took 2-3 hours instead of normal 5-10 minutes! So, I was totally tired after 3 sleepless nights at this hotel.2. Crazy air conditioner! The room was like fridge. The max setting is 22 degrees (when outside temperature was 35) and you cannot turn it off - it goes back on every time you leave the room. 3. Bathroom! Maybe the designer did not think that it will actually be used for showering. It was very hard to shower without flooding the whole bathroom and the room.

Review 44:Good location. Nice property.

Review 45:One bad for 2 children :-( ,without any balkony, when i contacted the hotel it was not offered any other type of rooms woth 2 children

Review 46:programmes for small children, cleaning of the facilities :-), kind persons

Review 47:Rooms are a bit small for a family room & sofa bed was not appreciated. A family room ought to have beds. Breakfast had veriety but predictable - every day same dishes. Dinner at the hotel was very expensive & not worth the money chatged.

Review 48:Nice hotel & very helpfull staff. Good & attractive location & garden. Nice hotel for those visiting with own transport.

Review 49:Only junk food all over the hotel; wi-fi almoste inexisntant; sistem of acces control is not working good;

Review 50:The fact that were a lot o children and our kid head fun

Review 51:Swimming caps, charging for a towels, messy breakfast, limited restaurant and food choice, expensive, children entertainment only in Italian

Review 52:Friendly staff by the swiming pool and the bar, location near to Gardaland

Review 53:90% junk food; bad acces control - the cartella was not working properly- in 4 days i'v change it 3 times; no good room service delivery in the room - also junk food

Review 54:The children was happy with the Gardland parck and the fact that were meny children in the hotel and around. Free parking

Review 55:The breakfast isnt yummy at all , the shows they do arent that nice and enough and the bus that drops you needs a timer so u could know how much time is left specially that u have little kids

Review 56:the most i loved was the rooms very comfortable and the staff were very helpful

Review 57:Location and the amusement park. I must admit that we were in the middle of the summer, with 40*C and visiting the park was a challenge, actually we renounce to continue the visit only after one hour. Anyhow do not expect that Garda Park to be similar with Disneyland in Paris, is far below.......

Review 58:Friendly staff,cleanliness,facilities (pool,garage)

Review 59:The facilities are very poor, Staff is not polite, breakfast is poor. Nobody give you the information that in the pool you have to wear swimming cup or that you have to pay for the towel, but once you are there you just have to buy both otherwise you don't get to the pool, that's ridiculous. The shuttle to the park is a bus without air condition and you have to wait 20 min inside until to leave station.

Review 60:The park

Review 61:could not get wifi at all, the beds and pillows are just awful, its is very very expensive, a beer is served in a small plastic cup at £4.50 it actually works out at around £11 per pint, the doors access to our hotel block was a nightmare it did not work.

Review 62:the location was fab, the pool area is great,

Review 63:We liken the hotel, the food and the staff who were excellent. We had recently stayed at a "themed hotel" in France close to a world famous theme park which was dire, this exceeded our expectations.

Review 64:For the price you pay for rooms, you'd think things like pool towels would be covered. Instead, we had to pay €1 and leave a €5 (cash only) deposit. Even though I left my CC info at front desk, I wasn't able to charge the deposit to my room and had to go back to the room to get cash. To top it off, we had to purchase 5 swim hats (required) at €5 each for a total of €25 for the family to swim for a couple hours.

Review 65:Located 5min from Gardaland. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 66:Difficult to get to without a car as taxi from airport quite pricey, lacks facilities for adults once kids are in bed.

Review 67:Bed great, room size good, everything clean, staff friendly

Review 68:Could benefit from a little more local info being available. For example guides to nearby towns.

Review 69:Friendly, helpful staff. Well-maintained hotel and grounds. Very professionally run.

Review 70:You couldn't sit out on the balcony as it was too small. Food was overpriced for breakfast and dinner. There is major building works going on which nobody told us about before booking.

Review 71:On the whole the room was comfortable and clean with good facilities - hairdryer, fridge, safe, ac. Enjoyed the splash dance at the pool. Bus shuttle to and from park good too.

Review 72:no where to have a walk in the immediate area around the hotel too far from pescheira had to get taxi in and out all the time. no bus service. Piped music every where was very annoying wifi very slow and didn't work all the time a bit unpredictable. breakfast a little chaotic. in a 4 star hotel you shouldn't have to pay for towels everyday no slide in the pool area for kids

Review 73:staff very pleasant very comfortable room and spacious suite for 5 of us. lovely pool area.and never too busy

Review 74:We stayed there for 5 days and during that time cleaning stuff didn't clean the balcony even once. They are charging you for everything and everything is overpriced. Room (2 adults+2 kids) is very small and very basic, not even a 3 stars hotel. Animation and games are only in Italian. Pool area is not that impressive as you could think based of the photos. There is no cattle in the room or even glasses! When we asked for plastic cups they said that they are not giving that and if we want something we can order from room service! Would expect a bit more (not high expectations, just plastic cups) from a 4 star hotel!

Review 75:Location is really great and free shuttle bus to Gardaland every 30 min as well.

Review 76:Nothing specifically about the hotel, there was no road sign on the main road that gardaland is on telling you hotel was next right. When we eventually took the right turning there was a very small sign advising hotel was near. We ended up in and around the park and took about 20 mins to find hotel. For the size of the hotel and theme park i would have expected better signage

Review 77:Very nice hotel, very helpful staff. Well maintained pool. Excellent buffet breakfast. Very comfortable bed as I usually get sore backs when sleeping in any bed other than my own, not this time.

Review 78:breakfast was terrible ..15 eur per person is too much having in mind there is nothing to eat. There is no vegetables and fruits ! Only the watermelon ... If You want to get even tomatos it cost extra 3 eur, if you want omlet it cost additional too . Stuff in reception is unkind too.

Review 79:Rooms were very clean and lovely to stay for few days ! We spent more time in gardaland park but there was some activity for kids in the hotel too. We had no chance to use pool but looked very nice ! Hotel isn't in the area of park so you must use shuttle or your car.

Review 80:Pool opens a bit late and closes early (for us), the card key was difficult to use to into the building, the plastic cups (glasses) in the bathroom waere not changed any time during our stay

Review 81:Good location, free bus to Gardaland, nice pool area, helpfull staff

Review 82:The negatives about this hotel are:1. The location of this resort is such that if you want to get anywhere other than Gardaland itself and the waterpark, you are going to have to drive. The resort is on the outskirts of Castelnuova and you can't walk anywhere close. This became important to us because there aren't very many food options at this resort to choose from. They have one main restaurant which we found to be very expensive with a very limited menu choice that didn't change and the pool grill which says it closes at 1930, but we found out that they really stop cooking most of the food at 1830 and offer a reduced menu from that time onwards.2. There is no onsite self service laundry. There's only the normal pay for service type and at 7 Euro a pair of shorts and other high prices for additional items of clothing we found that we would have paid over 100 Euro to do laundry by Day 4 of our trip. There is self service laundromat in Castelnuovo that's about a 8 to 10 min drive away that is very affordable that we ended up finding via Google. A tip about that place is to park nearby by in the La Familia Store parking lot and just walk up....there's no parking for that laundromat.3. Wifi is very very very slow. This proved to be a big challenge for us at night when we were searching for our next day's adventure. The log on is strange in that you must log into one of your social media accounts to gain access to the network. I'd personally never seen this type of service before. After 1930 at night be prepared to wait a very long time for both connection and speed of WiFi. In truth after Day 3 we didn't even really mess with it anymore.3. As mentioned in other posts about this hotel, breakfast is very chaotic after 0830. I'd have to go back and look at the price option of including breakfast in the stay.

Review 83:First off, I'll begin by saying that the hotel itself, the rooms and the pool area are fantastic. I've got very few negative things to say about it. We are a family of 4 with two young children and found our family room/suite to be very spacious. Our particular room was on the the ground floor with doors leading out a nice grassy area outside. We were also very close to the pool area which was a nicety. The bathrooms in this place are large, updated and ours included a very nice bathtub which we were happy about for our young boys. From the moment we arrived we were greeted, check in was easy and they have a concierge guy who will load up your luggage into a custom golf cart and drive you to your room which was nice on a 96 degree day outside. For those with a vehicle, the parking lot is more than sufficient and is a relatively short walk to the hotel. They also have an abundance of activities daily at the hotel and the pool area for the kids although I think that the target age for the kids is probably 5 to 10 years old. In closing I'd definitely stay here again despite the negatives and really enjoyed the resort as a whole.

Review 84:1) Hotel pool is not private 2) Hotel pool makes you wear swim caps you have to buy there because you don´t know beforehand 3) Hotel dinners are super super expensive (35 euros for an adult buffet!) 4) Rooms are thin walled (we had neighbours that you could hear while going to the toilet) 5) Hotel parking is unguarded: anyone can go and park inside, in fact we saw people coming back from the park on the bus that then went to their car to drive home!!! 6) Noise! They are building new hotel and you can hear work starting at 8 am!!! 7) A bottle of water (0,5l) for 2 euros from a vending machine in the hotel...no comment! 8) Breakfast for 15 euros per person!!! 9) Room floor dirty

Review 85:Size of the bed

Review 88:Called front desk to see if pool had towels available. They said yes,but did not indicate that we needed euro to pay for them and put down a5€ deposit per towel. We went back to the room to get our own, only todiscover upon our return to the pool that swim caps were required (andalso available for a fee). It would be helpful if this info was printedon the room receipt.

Review 89:Breakfast buffet was nice, and rooms were clean.

Review 90:The room service (the bar) wasn't good. They brought us wrong order twice. They called us at the room late at night from the mini bar that we had'nt paid, although we had.

Review 91:the room ,the bed very comfortable, they changed towels every day, location, the animation very good.Birthday party very good.

Review 92:Excellent standard of cleanliness throughout hotel, comfortable beds, staff helpful and friendly. Had buffet in restaurant - good food and lots of choice.

Review 93:Dinner buffet too expensive and no children's prices. Go into the local town. No shampoo, conditioner or lotion just one option in bottle on wall. No gym.

Review 94:Room was clean. Breakfast great buffet.

Review 95:Staff don't care about complaints, asked to have our room changed or a/c fixed, but was told that there is nothing we can do.

Review 96:A/c not working, call reception and keep finding excuses, when it was 26deg, did not care that our room was boiling and can't open windows as full of Mosquitos, all night in a boiling room

Review 97:We were in this Hotel 3rd time, However if I knew what will happen at reception I would never booked this hotel. We booked a Family room for the first and second night however the Hotel changed our room for the second night. We ware very unsatisfied, but Hotel stuff ignore whole our request to stay in the same room. Kids animation poor and only in Italian, not worth value for money. Breakfast you could exepct even more for such rate.

Review 98:Lokation

Review 99:Price vs Quality The price for the night is more like for 5 star hotel. Although there were some attractions for children during supper time. Supper was too expensive I think. It cost us 25 EUR for one adult and 20 EUR for child. Total of 70 EUR for a buffet, excluding drinks. For drinks you have to pay in addition. I dont think that it was worth that money. Prices at the lobby bar were also rather high. Breakfast was good, with exception that you have to pay in addition for vegetables if you want them. Location. The location is good if your stay intention is just to visit an attraction park.

Review 100:Overall the hotel is fair. Your children will deffinately like it, but the price for additional services is high without reason.

Review 101:Not enough things to do at the resort to keep 2 young kids entertained. The dinner buffet was not worth the high price. We ate there the first night and decided to eat elsewhere for the 2 other nights of our stay.

Review 102:We liked how clean and tidy the resort was. The bus to Gardaland was quick and the amusement park and aquarium were very exciting for the kids. We enjoyed very much.

Review 103:The extra beds were too small for 2 children. The breakfast was not good enough for a 4-star hotel.

Review 104:The inner garden was beautiful. It was clean in the rooms and the bathrooms.

Review 105:if you travel with babies or young children get your own kettle as they dont provide one for the room so to ask for hot water yo need to go to the bar in the main building. Same breakfast every day with little variety. I got badly food poisoned from the buffet dinner (sea food paella)

Review 106:very clean and well kept hotel. good fun for young children.

Review 107:I wish that the hotel rooms are located in one building so guests will not have to go out in a cold night. I hope that Gardaland Hotel should contact the guest directly if there is a problem even if the guest had done booking through a third party like booking.com. My family had a stressful night prior to the day of check in at Gardaland Hotel because of someone did not give us due notice about the room that we had booked. We've booked way more ahead of time to have a smooth and a relax vacation but because of this unfortunate miscommunication between the hotel and booking.com, we were tied to either not to stay in the hotel and pay or stay but pay the expensive rate. Gardaland hotel staff told us that they are not at fault as they communicated to booking.com since end of Nov 2014. Booking.com had just emailed us the night prior to the day of our check in. We should have cancelled the hotel booking if we were given enough time to do it ahead of time so we will not get charged.

Review 108:I appreciated the accommodating buffet staff and the good breakfast.

Review 109:We enjoyed the convenience of the hotel to the park, but found the hotel to be overpriced. For what we paid breakfast should not have been an extra charge. Food available at the hotel for purchase was okay, but again over priced.

Review 110:Didn't like that the wifi didn't connect not even once in 2 days. That when I had dinner there I wasn't explained properly how to order my wine or anything. So I had to have table wine.

Review 111:I really liked was the kids were free to go as they please and it was a safe, pleasant hotel, the food was average but the kids loved serving themselves , staff were excellent and the kids loved the activities they had after the park experience.

Review 112:Severely overpriced. Despite friendly and helpful staff, you don't feel like a valued customer. There is the sense that the hotel is a cynical attempt to rob you of more cash than the park itself can accrue.

Review 113:Location. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 114:The breakfast wasn't at the expected level no other options for food services were available in the hotel only the cafe that serve Pizza

Review 115:Location is close to Gardaland amusement park, chattels were available. Facilities and rooms are excellent

Review 116:I didn't like that the bus shuttles for pescieria del garda near the train station stops at 18:00 and therfore in the eveing you cannot go to a resturant near the lake or for a walk if you don't have a hired car. The taxis are very expensive. And near the hotel there areno taxis or bus services.

Review 117:It's like a fairy tale honestly

Review 118:- Little bit expensive. - Some stuff in the breakfast room were not friendly/helpful.

Review 119:- Activities all the day. - Near the park. - Staff were helpful

Review 120:Poor, poor breakfasts. Everybody is smoking everywhere. Horses farm smells like horses are living in your room. There is no any infrastructure nearby.

Review 121:Really comfortable bed and... hm, and that's it.

Review 122:The breakfast buffet was very poor, i wouldn't recommended to families with teenies as most of the children attacking the buffet were younger than 6 years old.

Review 123:Very nice and clean resort, closed to Gardaland. Big pool area. Spacious rooms, plenty of parking lots.

Review 124:I expected much more animation, no gymn or any useful activity for parents, no proper playground (specially given everbody comes with kids), wifi sucks: very slow and can only use it through social-media access by giving up your privacy, coffee not very good (in Italy!!!) the closest Osteria has nicer coffee for third of the price

Review 125:shuttle to the park is handy, kids loved the hotel, easy parking, friendly staff

Review 126:The meals were unreasonably overpriced - a buffet style dinner for 2 adults plus 2 kids plus drinks( mineral water and juices) equalled the price of lunch and whole day snacks at the amusement park plus dinner at a pizza place in a nearby village! Also, the water in the swimming pool was way too cold.

Review 127:Good location, not far from the amusement park, friendly staff, great entertainment team for kids, pretty fairytale decor

Review 128:for such a price i would except for a electric kettle/Water heater in the room for a morning tea

Review 129:the place is charming clean and idle for garda lake tour and site seeing the staff is professional and very nice.

Review 130:The 'discounted Gardaland' tickets that were advertised only apply to multiday tickets. You can save more money buying the tickets in advance from the website. For a 'family resort hotel' the family suites are terrible. The foldout couch is small and very, very uncomfortable, it is only suitable for very young kids. The breakfast buffet was expensive, and although there was a wide variety of food available, the food quality was pretty poor.

Review 131:Good location to Gardaland with complimentary shuttle service. Excellent wifi available throughout the resort. Relatively quiet rooms, nice pool and spacious grounds. The resort offers several fun activities for younger kids.

Review 132:Prezzemolo is walking around, but it could be more often. Entertainment for kids is nice, but I think that it could be organized more often during the day. The swimming pool could be more equipped with toys for kids. More or less the hotel is nice, but value for money is not very high.

Review 133:The staff is kind and professional, the entertainment for kids is good

Review 134:Walls are pretty thin, lots a noise coming trhu. The shuttle going to the park leaves at every 30 minutes. In the morning it is packed with ppl. It should be at least 10 minutes during high season.

Review 135:Perfect theme hotel, just like the ones at Disney. Loved the two entrance rooms at building 5 that lead to a little garden. Parking is great, breakfast is quite ok, although you won't find any vegetables. Gardaland is one of the best theme parks in Europe.

Review 136:Like most of the touristic areas in Italy, buying anything else that is not included in the initial package is a total rip-off.

Review 137:The premises were very well after as well as the overall management of the property.

Review 138:This was our stop over ford lie days after two weeks in Tuscany where we had some poor weather and made the end to our holiday so much nicer . Restaurant is really worth the 30 euro charge and the facilities and location excellent of you want to use the park or go out and about. The shuttle service to the park is really great if travelling with older children and makes them independent. A must is a visit to agroturismo Mirabello at Desenzano about 20inutes drive for fabulous food and wine of the region very reasonably priced

Review 139:Breakfast had a factory like approach and people trampled upon each other to get to the buffet. Automated hotel air-conditioning in the rooms was too cold. Checking in was a slow and painful experience.

Review 140:I would only recommend this hotel to families with young children. I personally liked the pool and room size with bath.

Review 141:pool cold had to wear hats kids entertainers not very child friendly food ok expensive- as expected

Review 142:food and service very good in park no queues and rides long and better than expected. super circus show.

Review 143:Restaurant very noisy, you have to buy bathing cap (around 3€) for the swimming pool and pay also for the towels. Rooms are not as big as you imagine on the pictures showed on the website.
